Chapter Three — Copy

The sun was setting, dying the sky a beautiful array of colours from light orange hues to vibrant purples—it was beautiful. A sight, Kagome would admit, that she would never ever get tired of. She leaned further back onto the safety rail, not caring if it was a safety hazard; she's done some stupider, dangerous things. Closing her eyes, the steel and concrete structures of the modern day era was replaced with green forest that stretched further than the eye could see.

She could still smell and taste the fresher air and water, unpolluted.

Sighing, she opened her eyes again, taking in the sights before her. Funny how much she missed this sight when she was traveling with them, but know she grew bored and found everything in her era distasteful.

Kagome couldn't bring herself to be excited anymore, life seemed so—so boring.

"Ah…" she whined to herself. "Who am I kidding—?"

"TOUCHDOWN! YA-HA!"

The excited shriek accompanied with shrill laughter surprised her more than the loud train blowing past her.

Kagome arched her back over the railing—unsafe, she knew, but safer than what she did last year—to catch sight of a rather eye-catching blonde. She grinned, her teeth on display as she eyes the sharp, unusual features that the boy had.

His bright hair, elfin ears, gleaming fangs and sharp, defined features rather demonic in the eyes of a normal human.

However, Kagome was by no means 'normal.'

She could feel, even without using her seikōki [i, that this boy was plain old human, and was simply using the age-old technique of employing demonic features for intimidation purposes.

The boy was an a rather poor imitation of the real thing.

What a real copycat.
