Chapter Six — You Were Right
Kōga was a little more than annoyed. He couldn't remember when or how it happened but here he was in Kagome's day and age working for Sesshōmaru — Inuyasha's aniki of all people. Well, he could understand how. With more and more yōkai living in the Makai, yōkai in the Ningenkai either had to band together to avoid discovery. The ōkami was lucky he supposed, not even those idiots in the Reikai would dare oppose Sesshōmaru, especially since he had Tenseiga. But he was not counting himself lucky when he had to put up with humans — at least, if they weren't Kagome or her family.
Which was why he was more than a little perturbed while he was talking to this greying principal of Tei — something or other Gakuen, somewhere in the West. The fact that the man was scared out of his wits whenever Kōga talked soothed his annoyance slightly. He could've been visiting Kagome but he had to speak with bloody principal since apparently Taishō Corporations was funding it.
"Er, Yōrō-san?"
"What?"
The man recoiled in fear. "Would you like to see the American Football team practise like I suggested?"
"American Football?" He muttered more to himself.
Was it him or was American Football getting more popular these days? Now that he though about it, Kagome said she was watching a game of American Football. He watched the principal sweat in anticipation for his answer.
With a lazy smirk and shrug of his shoulders, Kōga answered. "Sure. Anything exciting about them?"
Here, the principal himself looked a little annoyed. The man had probably said something about them but he hadn't paid attention since he was so annoyed at the inu yōkai for sending him here. But nonetheless he nodded and gestured for Kōga to follow him. Both men stood, Kōga slipping his suit jacket off and under his arm to roll his dress shirt's sleeves to his elbow and swung the jacket over his shoulder.
"I think, Yōrō-san, that our American Football Team at the very least will meet your standards. We've won the Christmas Bowl since its founding." The man's voice bubbled with pride.
Kōga nodded. That was impressive. For humans, that is.
The ōkami felt his phone vibrate in his pocket. Slipping his jacket from his right shoulder to his left, he glanced at the mobile.
Ice blue eyes shone with amusement at the message that greeted him.
Kagome
—You were right. I was surprised.
A smirk played on his handsome face.
"Er—Yōrō-san?"
"Nothing," Kōga waved his concern off, pocketing his phone once more. His tone was lighter and more amused, relieving the man of his anxiety. "I just love it when I'm right."
A/N:
I got Kōga's last name from his title — the Young Leader of the Eastern Wolf-Demon Tribe or Yōrō Clan
