Festus' speed was amazing. Leo was amazing. Everything, at the moment, was pretty amazing.

We were flying across the Atlantic, Long Island already behind us. Let me rephrase that. We were flying on a golden warship- dragon at over one hundred miles an hour, ripping across the clouds. It was awesome.

I was beginning to realize I was wrong. Leo wasn't an up and coming genius- he was already a genius.

I turned back to him from my place on the deck. He was in the steering room with Clint. He had one hand on the steering, which was controlled by a bop it controller, and was showing Clint the weapons system with his other hand. He glanced back and forth from the air to the controls, gesturing wildly at the controls.

I looked back out to the water. Piper and Grover were in the engine room. Leo had given them a piece of paper and whispered something to them before rushing off, before telling me to stay put. Completely unfair. I so wanted to see what made this baby tick. But with Leo and his friends around, I wouldn't be able to sneak in for a peak at that moment. I decided I would bide my time.

"Uncle T." I jumped and turned. Leo smirked up at me, twirling some wires in his hand.

"Leo. Wait- who's driving?" I looked past him to the control booth, where Clint sat alone, messing with something outside of my vision.

"No worries, Festus is driving," He said, waving his hands. "Come with me. I gotta give you guys something."

I brightened up a bit. "Engine room?"

He snorted, turning on his heel. "Trust me. There isn't anything there for you." He led me to the steps, motioning to Clint to follow us. He came out and joined us.

Leo led us back down through the halls and past the cabins. He stopped at the end of the hall, just before the dining room and lifted a rug off the ground to reveal a trap door. He lifted the door with ease and dropped down into the space.

Clint and I exchanged a look and shrugged before following. Leo lit up the space with a small fire in his palm, which shocked me a bit. It was the first time I saw him use his power so casually. He glanced at me quickly before looking away. He walked over to and lit up a lantern.

I remembered with a pang how I reacted to his power before. We still hadn't talked about that. He didn't seem angry about it or anything- in fact he sounded down right chipper. But, knowing our gene pool, he probably wasn't fine. If he was anything like me in that regard… Well, I seriously needed to apologize.

Leo grabbed the lantern and walked over to one of the walls, where boxes sat on shelves.

Clint walked over to Leo. "What is all this stuff?"

"Some essentials. I packed some stuff up just in case I needed to set sail last minute and stashed it in Bunker nine."

I walked over to them as Clint pulled a box down. "Essentials?" He swiftly broke the box open and pulled out a pack of flaming hot cheetos.

Leo grabbed the pack and took back the box. "Yes. Essentials." He put the box back in its place and grabbed a longer box at the top of the shelf. "Here we are. For you Arrow Guy."

"Call me Clint," Clint responded automatically before crouching down to watch Leo open the box. Inside the box, there was an arrow bag stocked full of white feathered arrows.

Leo swung the bag out of the box and over his shoulder so the bag hung across his chest. He stood up and crouched next to the lantern, gesturing Clint closer. He pulled an arrow out of the bag and held it up to the light.

Clint squinted at the strange arrow. It seemed to be made of steel, except for the arrow head. The head instead twinkled bronze.

"It's celestial bronze. Regular metals won't hurt monsters. Celestial bronze is one of the only kinds of metal that'll hurt them. It's mined from Mount Olympus itself. Extremely rare."

Leo handed Clint the arrow. He weighed the arrow in his hand before nodding approvingly. "It's well balanced."

"Thank you," Leo said, taking the bag off and offering it to Clint. "I made them myself."

Clint took the bag, surprised. "You're just giving them to me?"

Leo shrugged and turned back towards the shelves. "You need to defend yourself somehow. The ship will be attacked eventually. Just don't waste them. I only have a limited amount." He pulled a smaller box off the shelf and pulled the box open.

"What do you mean, the ship will be attacked?" I asked.

Leo glanced up at me. "Simple explanation? Monsters can smell demigods from miles away. They track us down to kill us. Especially in the old lands. Demigods are generally forbidden to go there."

"But not you."

"There are some exceptions." Leo walked over to me and swung a pistol out of the box, offering it up to me.

I waved my hands. "No, no, no. I don't do guns."

Apparently he wasn't having any of that. "Just take it. It's for emergencies." I could tell he wasn't going to take no for an answer. Slowly, I took the gun. The metal felt strange in my hands. Leo turned and grabbed a bag from the box, tossing the bag towards me. He then grabbed the box and returned it to its shelf. "There's some more bullets. Don't worry, the gun only takes celestial bronze bullets. And celestial bronze can't hurt mortals."

My heart skipped a beat. I was used to it from Thor, but coming from Leo, the term "mortals" just seemed wrong. I hadn't realized just how much I didn't process the news about my nephew. He really wasn't human. It made me wonder just how much more there was to know about him.

Leo extinguished the lantern and relit the fire in his palm. He led us back to the trap door. There wasn't any stairs, so he waited for us to pull ourselves up before extinguishing his flame and coming up after us. Clint helped Leo shut the door, and I replaced the rug.

Just as we were finishing up, the engine room door opened and Piper peeked out. "Leo. I think we're done."

"Thanks Pipes. I'll take a look."

"Done with what?" I asked him, still eager to check the room out.

But Leo waved me away. "Since I launched the ship in a hurry, I needed a bit of magical help to keep us all together. No worries."

We were interrupted by a rumble from the ship.

"Okay. What was that." Clint asked.

Piper frowned and stepped all the way out of the room. "Festus."

"Everything okay out there!" Grover yelled from the inside of the room.

"It's fine guys." Leo assured. "Festus is probably just a bit lonely. Pipes, can you go check on him please. I'll finish up."

Piper nodded and jogged up the stairs. Clint hurriedly followed after.

Wordlessly, I watched my nephew disappear behind the engine room door. Something told me it wouldn't be the last time he'd disappear.
