The Hunt for Cell
I don't own Digimon or Dragonball Z
"No sign of him, and it looks like he is supressing his energy so I don't track him down and kill him," Daisuke growled, floating back to the ground in the middle of the now destroyed Gingertown. Clenching her fist, she fired a Ki blast at a piece of rubble in anger. "He needs to be stopped, if he absorbs the Androids, there is no telling how strong he'll become, or if we'll even be able to stop him."
"Daisuke!" she looked to see Krillin, Trunks, and Tien flying towards her. They landed in front of her and looked around at the destruction. "Whoa…did you do all this?" Krillin asked.
"Not all of it, but yeah, at least there were no innocent bystanders left when I arrived." Daisuke answered before she sensed another power level, and looked up to see Vegeta flying towards them. He landed and stormed towards Daisuke.
"What happened here, why did I sense Frieza here?" he asked, glaring at her.
"Good question, we sensed Goku, Piccolo, and Frieza's energies here as well," Tien added.
"Alright, I'll tell you," Daisuke told them. "So, listen carefully, this might decide if we all live or die. Ever since I arrived in Gingertown, I've been fighting a creature from the future. He's another android created by Dr Gero."
As Daisuke was explaining the current situation, Cell meanwhile was running at incredible speed across the countryside, making sure to keep his energy hidden so he could complete his goal without further interruption. "Those football players were a good snack, now for a quick stop in Nicky Town, and then it's off to find those androids," he thought.
"No way!" Krillin exclaimed as Daisuke had just finished telling them all she heard from Cell.
"So, Cell has cells from both Kakarot and myself, along with cells from Frieza and several others?" Vegeta asked.
"Yes. It's how he escaped from me before you all arrived, he used Tien's Solar Flare. And I also can't sense his energy right now, it means he can suppress it too," Daisuke answered with a frown. "We have two choices, we either hunt down Cell since if we can stop him we won't need to worry about him absorbing Androids 17 and 18. Or we go after the Androids themselves and destroy them; if we manage to destroy just one of them, Cell won't be able to become complete."
"What should we do?" Tien asked her.
"I say we go after Cell, he's weaker than the Androids are at the moment and we know where he will be heading. Trunks, I want you and Krillin to go back to Dr Gero's lab and find the underground lab; see if you can find any plans about Cell or a way to stop the Androids, then blow that place sky high," she instructed Trunks and Krillin who nodded.
"Big deal, I say let Cell become complete. If he absorbs the Androids, we'll only have to fight a single battle," Vegeta said.
"Last time I checked those Androids kicked our asses. Android 18 broke your arm, Android 16 was able to overpower Goku, and Android 17 was at least as strong as I was. Do you really want Cell to be stronger then those three Androids?" Daisuke asked him.
"Do not question my abilities! Unlike the rest of you, I anticipate this new challenge and I will rise to meet it. I am a Super Saiyan, and I shall ascend even further beyond. I'll be back to finish the Androids and Cell off once you all fail," Vegeta said with an arrogant smirk before flying off.
"No offence Trunks, but your father is kind of an ass," Daisuke muttered, making Trunks scratch his cheek sheepishly. "Anyway, you know what to do, don't let us down." Trunks and Krillin nodded and flew off back to Dr Gero's lab, leaving Tien and Daisuke.
"Let's get started on searching for Cell," Tien said. "The nearest town is Nicky Town I think."
"Then we'll go there, and keep your eyes on the ground; if Cell is suppressing his energy, we won't find him flying from town to town," Daisuke said before flying off with Tien right behind her.
Meanwhile Krillin and Trunks were flying back to Dr Gero's lab. "Stronger then a Super Saiyan, is such a thing even possible?" Trunks whispered with Krillin overhearing him.
"I know it's hard to believe, but Vegeta and Goku are just the guys to do it."
"If they can do it, then so can I," Trunks said. Soon they arrived back at what was left of Dr Gero's lab, and landed amidst the rubble. "If there's a secret lab beneath this one, we're gonna need to do some cleaning up," Trunks said before he began firing energy blasts at the rubble, and Krillin followed suit. Soon the rubble was all cleared away, revealing a hole in the floor leading to another level. Trunks and Krillin shared a look and nodded before they jumped down the hole and floated down to the tunnel below.
"Sure is dark down here," Krillin said as they walked down the tunnel before seeing a steel door slightly ajar. Trunks pushed it open and then flipped a switch, turning on the lights in the lab and revealing Dr Gero's master computer and a small glass pod filled with green liquid that contained the beginnings of Cell for this current timeline.
"That must be Dr Gero's master computer, programmed to carry out the creation of this timelines Cell," Trunks said with a frown, looking at the computer before he walked towards the pod containing the larval form of Cell.
"That must be Cell then, or what will turn into him, right?" Krillin asked, slightly unnerved to be looking at another Cell even if it was just beginning to grow.
"Yes. Soon it will become too big for this pod and break out, then it'll undergo a strange metamorphosis to become the monster we now are facing," Trunks answered. It was then he noticed a small table nearby and walked towards it and saw several large sheets of blueprints. "I can't believe it, here's the blueprints for Android 17!" he shouted.
"Wow, talk about lucky," Krillin said, walking over as Trunks rolled up the blueprints.
"With these, we can study them to find Android 17's weakness," the boy from the future said.
"Anything else?" Krillin asked.
"Nah, just some plans for a gas-powered toaster oven," Trunks answered, shifting through the other plans before he came across one that left both he and Krillin in shock. "This…this is a blueprint of Daisuke and what Gero had planned for her."
"No way…I know she was experimented on by Gero, but I never thought he'd keep the plans around once she escaped." Krillin said.
"He must have thought he could somehow recapture her to finish his work. But it says here that Daisuke can get even stronger then she is now, another transformation," Trunks said with a smile as he read the plans.
"That's great, if Daisuke can somehow unlock that form she may be even stronger then Cell's evolved form," Krillin said hopefully, rolling up the plans of Daisuke to give to her later. "Now, let's send this computer to hell!" Trunks smirked and began firing energy blasts around the lab along with Krillin, blowing everything in sight up.
"This is payback for all the suffering you've caused!" Trunks shouted, firing multiple energy blasts at the master computer which exploded. Both Trunks and Krillin walked to the entrance of the lab before turning and fired a combined energy blast at the pod holding Cell, destroying it and killing this timeline's Cell before he could ever cause any harm.
"There's Nicky Town!" Tien said as he and Daisuke flew towards the city, and already they could see Cell had been there.
"This place is a ghost town," Daisuke whispered, looking around at the empty streets, buildings, cars, and the clothes left behind by all those Cell absorbed. "He has to be here, split up and find him," she told Tien, who nodded and flew off while Daisuke ran down the street, hoping to keep her energy supressed just enough to catch Cell off guard.
A scream soon came from the airport in the town as Tien flew overhead, and he stopped and looked down to see a girl and a young boy running out of a hanger with Cell right behind them. "Oh no you don't!" he shouted, flying down towards Cell who looked up just in time to be kicked in the face by the three-eyed warrior, sending him crashing into a luggage cart.
"What do you know, it's Tien. How did you know where I was?" Cell asked, getting back to his feet as the girl and boy kept running. "You've made me lose my meal, I'll make you pay for that." He charged Tien who jumped over him and caught his tail when Cell tried to stab him, and he threw him across the runway.
"Dodon Ray!" Tien shouted, firing yellow beams of Ki from his finger at Cell who blocked them with his hand. "I need to keep him busy until Daisuke gets here, I hope she's sensing my use of Ki." Cell charged him. "Kaio-Ken times four!" he shouted as his aura turned red and his power increased as he slammed his fist into Cell's stomach, making the bio-android's eyes bulge before he was kicked in the jaw, sending him soaring across the airport into an empty plane which exploded on impact. Tien knew that wouldn't be enough and watched as Cell emerged from the flames.
"I am quite impressed, to think you would be able to use such abilities that increase your level of power. I'm going to enjoy absorbing you," he hissed, running towards Tien.
"Let's see how you like your own medicine. Try this, Solar Flare!" Tien screamed, taking the pose as a flash of bright light emanated from him, blinding Cell who ran right into Tien's trap, and he held his eyes.
"Argh, curse you," Cell screamed, holding his eyes before a fist slammed into his head, sending him rolling across the tarmac. Once his vision had recovered, he stood up and came face to face with Daisuke with Tien by her side.
"Nowhere to run now, Cell," Daisuke told him.
"Curses, I did not anticipate running into Daisuke again so quickly, even with all the people I have absorbed, I am still not ready to fight her again," Cell thought. Daisuke clenched her fists and readied to fight Cell again before he fired an energy blast at the ground in front of him, creating a cloud of smoke.
"He's certainly crafty," Tien said with a frown as the cloud of smoke was cleared by Daisuke, and both saw Cell had alluded their grasp once again. Any attempts at sensing his energy failed. "What's our next move?"
"Cell isn't going to let us get this close to him again until he's good and ready for a fight. Let's head back to Capsule Corp, I think it's time we tell Goku, Gohan, Pan, and Azumi about this." Daisuke answered, and Tien nodded and both flew off towards Capsule Corp.
Meanwhile, above the Earth on Kami's Lookout, Kami and Piccolo looked at each other. "You know as well as I do that this new threat isn't something I can defeat at my current level of strength. We need to fuse, Kami, it's the only way," Piccolo told Kami, hating how he almost sounded like he was begging his other half.
"Kami…" Mr Popo whispered, looking at the Guardian of Earth.
"It is alright, Mr Popo; the time has come for me to accept my fate," Kami said with a gentle smile to his friend before looking at Piccolo. "When we fuse, we will use your body. It is stronger than mine, and my knowledge and abilities shall pass onto you."
"Whatever, let's get this over with so I can find those Androids," Piccolo grumbled.
"Put your hand on my chest, the rest will happen instantly afterwards," Kami told Piccolo who sighed and did so. After a moment, a flash of light covered the two of them as Mr Popo watched on in awe and shock. Soon the flash of light ended, and when it did, only Piccolo was left standing and he smirked.
"I feel it, the power it's immense. Finally, I feel whole again!" he cried in joy before he got serious. "Now is the time to find the Androids, if we stop them, Cell will be easy to destroy," he said, walking to the edge of the lookout before he looked at Mr Popo. "I must go." He flew off the Lookout and headed off in search of the Androids.
"Goodbye Kami, please be careful." Mr Popo whispered, watching the now Super Namekian flying away.
