The Monster is Coming

I don't own Digimon or Dragonball Z

Goku, Azumi, Gohan and Pan were outside Capsule Corp, waiting for the others to return, hopefully with good news. "Do you think Daisuke and the others are alright, grandpa?" Pan asked, sitting beside Goku as both watched Gohan and Azumi sparing.

"Your grandmother's strong, and the others are no slouches either; if something has happened, they'll be able to handle it," Goku answered with a smile, patting her on the back gently before he sensed approaching energies. "They're back," he called out, making his kids stop sparring and they all looked to see Daisuke and Tien flying towards Capsule Corp. Goku immediately knew something was up. "What happened?"

"Long story short, Gero cooked up another creation that is even worse then Android 17 and 18," Daisuke answered before she explained to her family about her encounter with Cell in Gingertown and at the Nicky Town airport, where both times the bio-android had evaded them by the skin of his teeth. During her explanation Trunks and Krillin had returned from Dr Gero's laboratory and waited for her to finish.

"This is really bad, if Cell absorbs the Androids, nothing will stop him," Pan said.

"That's why I sent Trunks and Krillin back to Gero's lab to find anything that might help us," Daisuke said before turning to the duo. "And?"

"We found some blueprints in the secret lab under the destroyed lab. Along with this timeline's version of Cell and Dr Gero's master computer," Trunks answered, handing a blueprint to Daisuke who looked at it and her eyes widened. "And we found this one on you."

"MirageGaogamon," Daisuke's voice was barely audible as a lone tear streaked down her face before she wiped it away when Goku placed his arm around her. "I'm fine. Moving on, what about the other blueprints in your hand?" she asked Trunks, who smiled.

"Plans for Android 17. With these, we'll be able to find a weakness or some way to stop them before Cell can absorbs them."

"Excellent, give those to Bulma and her father. Tell them to get to work fast," Daisuke instructed. Once Trunks ran into the main building of Capsule Corp, she turned to the others. "Now, what are we going to do about the obvious gap in power between us and the Androids in case those plans don't have anything useful?"

"The Hyperbolic Time Chamber. A year of training in a day will be more than enough," Goku said with a confident grin. Those who had never heard of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber before looked at him confused while Daisuke thought about the idea and nodded.

"It's a good idea, but will a year be enough?" she asked. "With each passing day, Cell kills more and more innocent people and absorbs their energy. It might be more then we can afford."

"Then we'd better get started. Trunks, Azumi, Gohan, and Pan, you guys head to Kami's Lookout while Daisuke and I track down Vegeta," Goku told the half-Saiyans who nodded before flying off. Goku turned to Tien and Krillin. "You guys try to locate the androids, even if Piccolo has fused with Kami, he may need backup."

"Right, you guys better be right about that time chamber," Tien said.

"If you are, then Cell's days of terror are about to run out," Krillin added before flying off with Tien behind him. Daisuke and Goku shared a look before Goku placed his fingers to his forehead and used Instant Transmission, while holding Daisuke's hand, and both vanished and appeared on a cliff, standing behind Vegeta who glanced over his shoulder.

"What do you want Kakarot? I'm busy."

"We can see that, staring into space does wonders for your mind," Daisuke commented with a grin. "We didn't come for a fight, we came to tell you there's a way to get a year of training in a day at Kami's Lookout." Vegeta turned to face them.

"You had better be telling the truth about this, I won't settle for any of your tricks."

"Why would we lie to you?" Goku asked with a grin. "The only catch is only two people can be inside the Time Chamber at once, I'm going in with Gohan, Daisuke's going in with Azumi, so that means you'll have to use the Time Chamber with Trunks." Vegeta grit his teeth at the idea of training with another person.

"Fine, but only if I get to go first."

"Sure. On the plus side it is a great way for a father and son to get to know each other better," Daisuke said with a smile.

"Oh, shut up, you sound just like Bulma," Vegeta snapped, making Goku and Daisuke laugh. A few minutes later, the three had arrived at Kami's Lookout with Mr Popo, Trunks, Gohan, Azumi, and Pan waiting for them.

"You're here good, everything has been prepared for you. There is food, a bed and bath, nothing too luxurious I am afraid," Mr Popo told them, leading them to the Time Chamber.

"I require only the essentials, this is not a vacation," Vegeta said irritably.

"Don't mind him Mr Popo, he just wants to finish his training," Goku said.

"So I can defeat you and your wife," Vegeta thought arrogantly. The group continued walking until they arrived at the door leading to the Time Chamber.

"Which group is going first?" Mr Popo asked as he grabbed the door handle.

"Vegeta and Trunks are going first," Daisuke answered as the Saiyan Prince and Time Traveller walked past her. "Good luck you two."

The two Saiyans walked into the room as the door shut behind them, and they looked at their surroundings. "What kind of place is this?" Trunks muttered, walking out of the room, and his eyes widened as he saw nothing but an endless void. "I can't believe what I'm seeing, it's really hot, and there is less air in here."

"You're not thinking of backing out, are you?" Vegeta asked his son with a smirk, as the two large hourglasses on the sides of the room began pouring sparkling green sand into the other end.

Meanwhile, outside the Time Chamber, the newly fused Super Namekian Piccolo was flying through the sky at breakneck speed, his target the Androids. "This new power is incredible. I never knew I would be this much stronger after a simple fusion." He flew through the clouds until he spotted something down below at the archipelago. "The Androids, perfect. If I can take just one of them out, Cell won't be able to reach his perfect form." He began flying down to the island where Android 17, 18, and 16 were standing.

"This is so boring, after we beat all those chumps and 16 took out Goku, there's been nothing fun to do," Android 18 complained, leaning against a rock that 16 sat on.

"We could always start destroying things," 17 suggested nonchalantly before he and the other two Androids heard someone land nearby. Turning to the new arrival, they saw it was Piccolo. "Well, if it isn't Piccolo, what brings you here? Up for another beatdown?"

"Yes, but this time I'll be the one who is giving the beatdown," Piccolo said, throwing his turban and cape behind him. "I've been looking for you Androids for a while and I'm itching for a fight."

"You've got a death wish; don't you remember our last encounter? I was able to defeat Daisuke, and she is much stronger then you," 17 said, rolling up his sleeves. "I'll crush you."

"Don't get underestimate me," Piccolo cautioned before he grit his teeth and an aura of Ki began surrounding him, sending gusts of wind blowing wildly around the island while the Androids looked on, waiting for him to make his move.

"Piccolo is not alone, I sense two power levels," Android 16 warned 17 who looked back at him.

"What?" he asked before Piccolo vanished from his spot and appeared behind Android 17. He slammed his elbow into the back of the Android's neck, then punched 17 in the jaw before hitting him with his elbow. He began throwing punches and kicks at the Android who was caught off-guard by Piccolo's newfound strength, and 17 was punched in the jaw again, causing him to skid back before grabbing Piccolo's wrist and smirking. He kicked Piccolo in the chin, sending him into the air before he flipped, landed, and blasted off towards 17.

The two became blurs with Android 16 watching the battle closely while Android 18 fiddled with her necklace. The fight took to the air as Piccolo kicked 17 away, and both flew towards each other and bounced back as they collided. Flying back towards each other, Piccolo threw a fist which 17 dodged. 17 hurled a kick which Piccolo avoided, and the two continued trading blows, both evenly matched.

"Not bad," Android 17 said before vanishing.

"Come back here!" Piccolo shouted, giving chase. The two continued, colliding as blurs until Android 17 threw an elbow at Piccolo, but the Namekian vanished. 17 looked around for his opponent, who came down from above and slammed his arm into the Android's back, sending him falling to the ground. He flipped and landed, only for Piccolo to shoot down and slam his foot into his jaw, sending the Android to the ground in defeat.

"Wow," Android 18 said with amusement, Android 17 remained motionless briefly before he pulled himself to his feet.

"He beat me, how? I must have miscalculated."

"Stay down," Piccolo warned, holding his arm out aimed at the Android who ignored his warning, Piccolo roared as he fired a yellow energy wave at Android 17 who gasped, and an explosion consumed where he stood. The smoke eventually cleared, revealing a large trench from where the energy wave had travelled. Piccolo looked up to see Android 17 high above him.

"His strength is something else," he thought, wiping some blood from his chin.

"What's wrong, do you need to recharge your batteries!?" Piccolo asked him.

"No. I am never giving up," Android 17 responded, making Piccolo smirk.

"Good, because I'm just getting started." He flew into the sky towards the Android who flew off and the two began trading blows again, blocking and dodging each strike. Android 17 dodged a strike from Piccolo who looked around briefly until spotting the Android above him, and floating upside down. "Scatter Shot!" he shouted, firing an energy blast at Android 17 who leaned to the side avoiding it. Piccolo growled in frustration and began firing multiple energy blasts at 17 who dodged them with a cocky smirk. "Makosen-Ha!" he shouted, cupping his hands before firing a large wave of energy at 17 who crossed his arms and deflected the blast into the sky where it exploded, raining down tiny orbs of energy. "He deflected my blast."

"Impressive light show, have you got any more tricks in store for me before I need to kill you?" 17 asked. Piccolo growled and flew towards him, and 17 matched the Namekian. Both crashed together, causing the ocean below them to explode upwards from the force. "What a shame, if this is all you can do, then I should finish you right now and go find someone else to have fun with."

"Stop wasting time 17, if you can't beat this guy, then let me take over," Android 18 shouted up at her brother.

"Stay out of this, I'm trying to have some fun!" he replied. Turning back to Piccolo, he saw the Namekian charging and dodged an energy blast fired at him. "Again with this? You're so predictable." He dodged more energy blasts Piccolo fired towards him, but soon Piccolo's attacks were missing the Android even as he stood still. "It's time to end…" the Android said before he stopped and gasped. Looking around, he discovered that Piccolo's intention was to never hit him at all; the energy blasts were floating around the Android in all directions; he had no escape.

Piccolo held his arm up and smirked at the Android. "You never expected a guided scatter shot, did you? Your reign of terror ends today. Hellzone Grenade!" he flicked his hand, and the energy blasts turned from yellow to purple and began spinning around Android 17 until they began hitting him from all sides, creating a giant cloud of smoke and blinding flash of light. The volley of blasts continued for a while until they had all made contact. Piccolo floated in the air, looking through the smoke, until he heard a humming noise. Looking up, he gasped as he saw Android 17 still alive protected by a green energy barrier.

"If I didn't have this, I would be dead," the Android told him, ending the energy barrier as the Namekian growled at him. "You see that island over there?" he asked, pointing behind him. "Meet me there and we'll finish this little game once and for all." He flew off and Piccolo followed along with Android 16 and 18.

Meanwhile in yet another desolate city, Cell stood atop a tower and chuckled maliciously to himself. "Finally, I am strong enough. Piccolo is fighting Android 17; I can feel his energy level. What a perfect bit of luck. Now I can track down the Androids with ease," he thought with a chuckle. He flew off towards the location of Piccolo and Android 17's battle.

Meanwhile, back with the two fighters in question, they now stood on another large island which was mostly barren of life due to the volcano on the island. Both fighters stood face to face as Piccolo's aura of Ki began flowing around his body again. Android 17 struck first, hitting the Namekian in the jaw before punching him in the gut. This was followed by an elbow driving him to the ground. Piccolo got to his feet before backflipping over a leg sweep and he flipped several more times before stopping and spitting some blood out of his mouth.

"Your speed's impressive, but your punches lack stopping power," he told the Android who glared at him. "Yeah, I've been hit a lot harder."

"You're bluffing, and I'm not buying it. No mere mortal can equal me in power," 17 said. Charging Piccolo, he flipped over a chop and elbowed Piccolo in the back before the Namekian spun and kicked him in the jaw. He ducked Piccolo's kick before elbowing him in the cheek, sending Piccolo rolling back. However, he charged back and rammed his head into Android 17's jaw sending the android flying until he flipped and dug his hands into the ground to stop his momentum. "You can't keep this up, you'll tire eventually."

"And you're not perfect, you'll make a mistake before that happens," Piccolo replied.

"You're just a flesh and blood creation," Android 17 spat in frustration.

"Don't underestimate him Android 17, he's a lot stronger then we first thought," Android 18 warned her brother while Android 16 watched on silently.

Back on Kami's Lookout, Daisuke, Goku, and the others were waiting outside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, all able to sense the battle between Piccolo and Android 17. "I'm not liking this, even if Piccolo is stronger now that he's fused with Kami, he's still outnumbered," Daisuke said, looking at the clock above the door to the Time Chamber, gritting her teeth before she walked off.

"Daisuke?" Goku asked, looking at his wife.

"I'm going to see if I can lend a hand, I may only be as strong as our last fight, but I was able to hold my own against Android 17," she said, looking over her shoulder at him. "Besides, I'm not going in until after you and Gohan, I'll be fine." She reassured everyone with a smile before putting two fingers to her forehead. "See ya," she said before disappearing via Instant Transmission.

"I hope she knows what she's doing," Pan whispered as the others nodded while Goku smiled slightly.

"Have faith, she'll be fine." Back on the island, Android 17 and Piccolo's fight had escalated in intensity; both threw heavy strikes at their opponent. Piccolo was driven into the ground, forming a hole before he appeared above 17 and slammed both fists into the Android's skull, creating another crater as the ground split beneath their feet.

The two continued exchanging blows and each blow was blocked by the other, creating sonic booms after each strike until both locked up and roared loudly. Their energies exploded, sending both skidding back. Android 18 sighed with her arms crossed before the island began to violently shake. Turning to the volcano, she saw it erupt, spewing lava into the sky. She floated off the island as it began to fall apart.

"We're going to run out of islands at this rate. Men, they always have to destroy stuff." she muttered as she kept her eyes on the fight. Her focus caused her to miss Daisuke appearing above her, and her eyes widened at the battle.

"Whoa, Piccolo's going all out. He's evenly matched Android 17 in power, but I wonder if he's keeping his senses sharp in case Cell tries to pull a fast one." She kept her eyes peeled. Not far from the battle, Cell was flying across the ocean and cackled.

"Finally, I can almost taste it. My goal to become complete is within my grasp," he thought, picking up speed.

Back at the battle, the island had become half submerged by the sea, but that didn't stop Piccolo or Android 17 from fighting. 17 broke through the volcano, and with Piccolo in front of him, the two clashed again. Piccolo hit 17 who blocked with his arms, the Namekian roared and fired an energy blast from his mouth at the Android who caught it with his hand, but the blast exploded, blinding him temporarily allowing Piccolo to ram his fist into his stomach before hitting him down into the ocean with both fists, and the Android sank.

"Piccolo was meant to be nothing to us, none of them were. This makes no sense," Android 17 thought as he slowly sunk before landing on the ocean floor. He looked up and saw Piccolo dive in after him, and the water around him began bubbling, making Piccolo narrow his eyes. Android 17 then shouted, and a giant bubble blasted towards Piccolo who fired a double handed energy blast back. The two attacks collided and exploded, a large amount of water rose into the air before the two fighters flew out of the ocean and away from those watching them.

"That's rude," Android 18 said, flying off with Android 16 following and Daisuke did the same making sure to stay above them and behind, so they didn't spot her.

When they arrived at the new battlefield, the fight was already underway. Android 17 punched Piccolo, sending him into a mountain before it exploded when the Android sent a blast of Ki from his palm. Once the smoke cleared, Piccolo was unharmed and charged the Android. 17 swung at him but missed, as that Piccolo was an afterimage. The real Piccolo slammed his fist into the Android's gut, sending him into another mountain which Piccolo blew up with a Ki blast of his own.

He lowered his arms before he turned and blocked a kick from Android 17 who burst out of the ground behind him, and both opponents growled. Piccolo parried two more kicks before grabbing Android 17 by the head, and he went to throw the Android away, but 17 held onto the Namekian's arm and used the momentum to swing Piccolo into the ground, creating a crater. Piccolo grabbed Android 17 by the shirt and slammed him head first into the ground.

Android 17 grabbed Piccolo's arm and spun him around before letting him go, and he began screaming, gathering energy for his next attack. When Piccolo landed on his feet, the Android shot towards him and slammed a fist into his gut. Piccolo's eyes widened before he growled and slammed his own punch into Android 17's stomach. The two delivered several more punches into the other's gut before they both landed a kick to the jaw at the same time, sending them spinning away from each other.

They landed and jumped into the air where Android 17 kicked Piccolo in the jaw, sending the Namekian higher before he was hit by an energy blast fired by Piccolo, sending him plummeting to the ground. He flipped, landing on his feet just before hitting the ground, and he panted as Piccolo landed in front of him.

"Not bad for a machine, especially an early prototype like yourself," Piccolo said in between breaths.

"You don't know what you're talking about. I am the ultimate Android, there are no improvements to be made," Android 17 shouted before he smirked. "I get it, you're trying to mess with my mind. You want me to think that I am the weaker one when in fact you're the one getting weaker as this fight goes on," he continued while Piccolo's attention turned to a hill nearby, and his eyes widened as Daisuke also saw what he was looking at; Cell had finally arrived.

"What a delightful discovery. The day I become complete shall go down in the history books as the dawning of a new age. Thank you for bringing Androids 17 and 18 right to me, Piccolo. You should feel proud that you had a hand in helping me achieve my perfection," Cell said with a twisted smirk.

"Vegeta, Trunks, you both better be finishing your training soon. I don't know if Piccolo and I can hold Cell off now," Daisuke thought, her fists trembling in both anticipation and worry for the fight to come.
