The week was almost unbearable for Caroline with Hayley's newfound confidence, although it was more fitting to call it an attitude. She didn't know where the she-wolf found her confidence potion but it certainly smells fishy. Unlike before, Hayley had lot of "strolls" or "walks" outside.

Her glare was glued onto Hayley's back as the she-wolf once again went outside for her usual so-called stroll.

"Let me guess, you don't actually believe the strolls and the walks she's having," Maia stated as she approached.

"Elijah tells me its normal and progressive and good exercise for the baby, but we're supernaturals and she's a werewolf so metabolism is still faster than humans. She doesn't really need that much walking," Caroline then sighed thinking she might have to do some investigating herself.

"I like your intuition Caroline. But this is one of the things you'll have to let play out by itself, there's no need to worry. After all, the odds are already on your side," Maia simply assured her with a smile and left her dumbstruck.

Caroline scoffed, " If only it was."

"Oh it is," Maia said softly.

By nightfall Niklaus could no longer contain himself. He was at edge with Hayley's constant disappearances, to which he could confidently assume was associated with witches. It was either the she-wolf was trying to gain an advantage, or the witches might already have a leverage at this point.

He was also sure that Caroline was probably planning to conduct her own investigation at the moment. Things can't get out of hand. Everyone seemed to be more involved than they should be. Making his way upstairs in search of Elijah, Niklaus found Caroline peeking at the nursery. He had heard the conversation between the two women and he was afraid that Caroline would close up because of it again. He really had to instill the bitch with knowledge of knowing and understanding her position. He wanted to comfort Caroline but her safety was of the essence so he passed her, heading straight for Elijah's room.

Upon arriving he saw Elijah sitting on an armchair, as if waiting for him.

"What is it this time Niklaus?" Elijah drawled.

"I'm afraid Caroline might be a bit too intrigued for her own good and that woman, Maia, seems like she knows more than she lets us onto," he replied.

Elijah pursed his lips, deep in his thoughts. The small woman did not seem to pose any threat but it was always a dangerous decision to underestimate anyone.

"And what do you want me to do about it brother?"

"Maia doesn't really seem much of a threat right now but I won't take any chances. I'll look after Caroline and watch out for her and you find out and tell me exactly who Hayley's accomplices are." Niklaus seemed to have already thought out a plan, and even a backup for that.

Elijah just nodded and picked up a book he was reading before Niklaus walked in. He didn't think Hayley would be bold and stupid enough to incur the wrath of his brother but it seems the young she-wolf was trying to be ambitious.

Caroline had decided to lounge by the pool and try to relax after all the gruelling weeks she's endured. If the she-wolf thought flaunting her delusional state of winning was smart then she was sorely mistaken. Caroline still thought something was wrong and she was gonna get to the bottom of it. Maia joined her soon after, just silently sitting on the chair beside her and they relished the peace that there was while Hayley was out for her usual walk.

"You know it is strange how we barely know anything about you and we let you stay here just like that. I know there's the part where you saved me, but still", Caroline pondered loudly.

Maia shook her head and chuckled. "You know your instincts are one of the best I've ever known. Don't doubt them. But your sense of loyalty can sometimes be flayed and wasted on the wrong people. Instinct and loyalty go together you know."

Caroline narrowed her eyes intrigued at what else she has to say.

Maia continued, "Have you ever thought of those times that you used yourself as bait for Niklaus? You should have been scared as hell thinking about what he can do when you mess with him, and yet you know at the back of your mind that whatever may happen you will live at the end of the day. And I certainly know you didn't have a doubt about that."

Caroline was gobsmacked. "How did you know about that?"

Maia shrugged. "I've been here and there. I usually blend in easily. You know he's always ready to rescue you right?"

"I may be, I may be not," Klaus interjected. "But tell me Maia, how come you know about these things and yet only choose to introduce yourself just now?"

Caroline had grown silent, but instead of thinking more about Maia's knowledge, she was dwelling on Klaus's answer whether he'd be there to help her when needed. Would he really be? But then again he did say "he may not". And as half her mind dwelt on that part of the conversation, half was waiting for the other woman's answer.

"Honestly, my aura just screams ordinary and I think that's a perk I've now grown to love," Maia sat up and left to go upstairs.

There was silence after that. Pure and excruciating silence. Caroline couldn't take it and stood up only to dive head first into the pool. Her head was an infinitely raging tornado at the moment and she just needed to get away from the silence. After staying underwater for a few minutes she decided to come up. Klaus was still there staring intently at her, a million words dancing in his eyes and yet nothing came out of his mouth. Caroline sorely wanted to know what the words in his eyes were.

She grabbed her towel and raced upstairs, unaware of the heated eyes following her every move.

Niklaus couldn't tear himself away from her. The beads of water clinging to her luscious skin, her lithe limbs crying out for him to touch and caress, and her eyes tantalized him in the most torturous manner. For a while he was stunned even after Caroline had climbed the stairs, but his urge never left him. He had other possibly pressing matters to attend to, but at that moment there were none other seemingly more important than the matter at hand which was catching a certain Caroline Forbes who had looked like she was running away from him.

Caroline relished the cool shower she was under but it was doing nothing to satiate her oncoming heat. She started to feel it when she saw his burning eyes, the hunger she never thought she'd have. She needed it, raw passion. Wrapping a towel around herself, she sighed and opened the door only to find Klaus comfortably sitting at the edge of her bed. She gasped for a moment then recovered quickly and grabbed the set of clothes she had prepared which was conveniently by Klaus' side. She rolled her eyes and quickly tried to grab her clothes but was stopped as Klaus grabbed her arm.

"We need to talk." That was all he said.

She narrowed her eyes. "After I put on some clothes." And with that she went back to the bathroom and tried to gather her thoughts. What could he want to talk about?

After a few minutes of deciding that she was ready to go back outside, she opened the door again and saw Klaus in the same position looking as bored as he could be. She scoffed internally and proceeded to walk at a healthy distance away from him towards an armchair by the window which still faced the bed therefore facing him. Which she wished didn't have to be the situation at the moment, her urges had only been taken down a few notches but hadn't really died down.

"What is it you need to talk about?" She asked trying to seem bored as he was a few seconds ago.

"Why the distance love?" He questioned and stood up only to slowly walk nearer and nearer towards her.

Caroline started to tense as she felt his presence grow stronger with every step that he took. She glared at him as a defense mechanism. "Just say what you want to say then get out," she quipped.

"You seem to forget love, I am the lord of this house and if there's anyone who can say who should get out, that would be me," he countered.

Talk about old-fashioned. Caroline simply frowned, "And I think you're forgetting I'm you're guest and should be treated with respect and have my needs and wants attended to. Have you dropped your gentlemanly manners somewhere?"

Klaus chuckled. "Ah yes, my important guest." Caroline's ears perked up a bit at the change of his tone as it became more lazy and husky

"I noticed you're a bit stressed and it would only be dutiful of me to relieve you of it." Klaus grinned and at the speed of light he was just behind Caroline and his hands were on her shoulders lightly massaging them.

Caroline had stiffened at first but couldn't help the loosening of her muscles as Klaus worked his magic through his hands. Caroline thought of other things he could do with them and couldn't help feeling flushed as Klaus continued to massage her.

"I can smell your heat Caroline. What are you thinking?" His lips were so close to her ear and the warmth of his breath made her shiver unknowingly. She said it was nothing but Klaus didn't seem to believe it and in a second she was out of the armchair and on the bed straddling Klaus.

"Now I can feel you, my Caroline. It's intoxicating." Klaus lightly grabbed her hair to meet his feverish kiss as one hand skimmed her waist. She loved the way he pulled her hair to meet his demands as her hands were on his shoulder digging their way into his skin.

Niklaus smirked. "Your needs and wants eh love? Have I been forgetful of them? I should start taking care of you more then."

Caroline smirked. "Yes, you really should."

In an instant Caroline was pinned under Klaus as he suckled on the skin of her neck and started to go down between her breasts. Caroline wasn't surprised when he ripped her shirt along with her bra and moaned in ecstasy as her nipples were in his mouth in less than a second while his left hand played with the other one. She could barely register his right one skimming her waist and ripping the rest of her clothing off. She was bare in less than a minute and it didn't help that Klaus was still on top of her fully clothed.

As Klaus intended to lean down for a kiss she bent her leg and pushed him away with her foot at his chest. "Now, now Klaus, I don't think you're being fair." She let her foot slide down along his abs still covered by cloth but purposely avoided his erection.

Niklaus, impatient as he was started ripping his own clothes and was on top of her again in a few seconds. Caroline's eyes were curious as he smirked at her and squealed when he suddenly turned her over on her knees and head resting on the bed, giving Klaus a clear view of her. Knowing this made her more wet and Klaus groaned at his ever growing hard on and her scent as it became pleasurably overwhelming for his heightened senses. He inhaled deeply savoring her arousal before plunging two fingers inside her. Caroline gasped in ecstasy as he manipulated his fingers, touching all the right places. Her breathing was labored and her moans got louder as she felt that sweet familiar tightening, but before she could cum Niklaus pulled his fingers out. She was about to complain when the sudden intrusion of his cock surprised her as she finally reached her limit in a few seconds and screamed.

Her pussy was still throbbing when Niklaus started again in a slow pace immediately building up the tension inside her. Her walls tightened around him when he took hold of her hair pulling it slightly, just enough to turn her on even more and as another hand pulled on one of her nipples. His pounding got harder and faster but she wanted more.

"Fuck me harder Klaus. Harder!" Her words put him on a frenzy as they reached their climax at the same time.
