Chapter 68
[Fire on the Mystic Island Arc]
Hōrai Island Part 3: Tortured Souls of the Uzumaki
Darkness. The room Evangeline found herself in was dark and foreboding. Looking around Eva noticed she was inside of a small birdcage with what appeared to be demonic suppression talismans hanging off of the cage which would explain why she couldn't feel her Yōki. "Where am I?" Eva's crystal blue eyes shined with worry as she rattled the bars of the birdcage. Noticing that she was in what appeared to be a dungeon concerned Eva greatly as that heavily implied that not only was she captured but also trapped as well.
"Naru… where are you?" Eva called out as she rattled the bars of her cage in distress. Eva's bout of distress came to a halt once the door to her prison cell opened up. In came a person Eva was shocked to see. "Hello their little fairy." Lilith spoke with her velvet like voice as she floated into the room on her signature golden Yata Mirror. The ash black haired woman had a cruel smirk on her face as Eva backed up in her cage. Lilith wasn't alone. The Mummy was with Lilith as his bandage form had multiple tendrils of his pale white bandages floating around his form.
"What are you doing here?" Eva shivered in fright as she backed up to the opposite end of her small bird cage. Anything to give herself space from the powerful fairy who tricked her in the past. She came to Eva under the transformation of a different being to be her friend. She only did so in order to confirm if Evangeline had the Aqua Stone inside her. She also wanted to see how much control she had over it which is why she briefly trained her. After seeing everything she needed to Lilith forced Eva's demonic instincts to act up by exposing her to the Yata Mirror she floats on.
"I'm here for you little girl. After all these years that Aqua Stone sealed in you by your mother is mine. With it I will achieve the power I've always wanted." Lilith purred as she traced her fingers across the bars of Eva's cage. "I don't care what you want… I'll never help you in anything. Where is my family? Where are we?" Eva refused with a visual shake of her head. She had no intention of being a part of anything Lilith had in mind. She was bad news as far as she was concerned. Lilith smiled a cheshire grin at Eva's predictable refusal as the little fairy laughed in response.
"I'm afraid you don't have much choice in the matter. I will get what I've always wanted and you're in no position to defy me. You don't hold a candle to me power wise and your weak will shall crumble under my might." Lilith chuckled while propping herself up on her elbow. She was laying down on her side on top of her mirror in the most relaxed disposition she could afford. She was completely content and supremely confident in her supremacy over Evangeline that she didn't even have her guard up in the slightest. "As for your so-called family well… they are all in separate little prison cells just like you… getting their pretty little bodies beaten and tortured half to death. I wish we weren't so far away from the others or I'd let you listen in to their screams. Kyōra should be heading for the boy's cell right now. I know hearing him scream would be music to my ears." Lilith purred as she saw the look of horror cross Evangeline's face. This look quickly transitioned into white hot rage as Eva flew up to the bars and slammed into them.
"I won't let you hurt them! LET ME OUT!" Eva yelled as she repeatedly slammed into the cage much to Lilith's amusement. "I swear if you lay one hand on Naru I'll kill you lady!" Eva struggled with the much older fairy falling onto her back in laughter. "So cute… as if you could kill me child. I've lived for far too long to meet my end at the hands of a 12-year-old upstart who still hasn't even tapped into the power of the Aqua Stone in her. I'll be damned if I let your little love for that human boy be my downfall." Lilith cackled as she held her stomach in pain from her laughter. "Love him all you want… it won't save you… and it won't save him." Lilith said as her laughter quickly trickled down as her voice grew more ominous towards the end.
"Let me out of this damn cage and we'll see about that!" Eva puffed as she grabbed the bars of the bird cage in defiance. Her eyes were ablaze with righteous fury that made Lilith lick her lips in anticipation. "It's a lucky thing for you that I was going to let you out of the cage. I can't extract the stone from within your body while you're stuck in the cage." Lilith joked while staring at the cage doors. "My lady… she will try to resist the moment you release her." The mummy advised in caution to his leader who scoffed in reply. "Oh… I count on it." Lilith grinned as she telekinetically opened Eva's cage whose heart was beating out of her chest in anticipation. Eva was pacing back and forth in her cage with her golden oval shaped wings twitching heavily in erratic patterns. She was hesitating in her decision to approach the cage gate while Lilith smiled a predatory like smile. "Oh, don't be shy now child. I'm only going to hurt you a lot." Lilith grinned as she saw Eva's eyes burn with defensive anger. She was quite literally an animal trapped in a cage with no way out.
The look in Lilith's eyes promised pain but Eva wasn't one to go down without a fight. If she was going to go down, then she'd go down swinging. Her feisty and prideful nature wouldn't allow her to surrender so easily. Both fairies anticipated it at the same time as Eva flew out of her cage with the second she exited the confining structure her Yōki returned to her. "Yōjutsu: Water Celebration!" Eva yelled as a massive swirling mass of cerulean colored water forming around Eva's body. "Take this!" Eva unleashed the powerful torrent of water at Lilith who was still laying down on her mirror in the most relaxed position possible. Flaring her demonic aura in retaliation Lilith grinned as Eva's entire attack dissipated into hot air with the heat in the room rising. Steam erupted within the room which worked to Eva's benefit as she let her shinobi trained instincts take over.
Hiding within the thick fog of steam Eva folded her wings and glided through the air in an effort to produce no sound as she rushed in an attempt to reach the dungeon door that was deliberately left open. 'This is to easy.' Eva noted with her keen veteran experience warning her that something wasn't quite right. "Dark Écriture: Repulsive Barrier!" The mummy intoned as a purple translucent barrier appeared in the doorway of the dungeon that Eva slammed right into. The repulsive nature of the barrier as its name suggest knocked Eva back with a stunning shockwave that slammed the nearly weightlessly fairy into the far wall across the room. "Nice try… your tactics are so like the shinobi of this world. You spent so much time around Kushina's son that you've become just like them. Always ready to run away… or to find a more advantageous position. Always sticking to the shadows… so trivial in the face of real power." Lilith monologued to herself with a bemused expression on her face as she powered up a red magic circle.
"Yōjutsu: Bloody Ambrosia." Lilith chanted as blood red hell flames in the shape of a blooming flower surged out of her glowing magic circle that shot the temperature in the room through the roof. "I'm not scared of you!" Eva challenged as she held her hands out in front of her with her wings sparkling from the light of the flames. "Demonic Art: Winter Fairy Scald Generation!" Taking it back to her basics Eva called upon one of her instinctual techniques that her species as a Winter Fairy naturally know how to perform since birth. Scalding hot water shot out of a thick sphere of water in front of Eva who directed it at the very powerful attack coming her way. The two attacks collided sending steaming hot hair into the dungeon room.
"Trying to hide again child. I don't think so. Let's see how you handle a Summer Fairy's natural magic." Lilith mused as her translucent wings shuttered in response. Humidity could be seen shimmering around her form as her eyes glowed a sickly sulfuric amber. "Demonic Art: Summer Fairy Drought Control." The powerful Fairy chanted as all of the humidity and moisture in the room evaporated within seconds exposing Eva's tiny form who was trying to leave the dungeon once again via the wide-open cell door purposely left there to taunt her. Eva felt the breath leave her lungs as the room became unbearably hot. "Yōjutsu: Ice Wall!" Eva wasn't done as defiance showed in her eyes. A thick wall of ice formed in the room separating Lilith and the mummy from the cell door. "Kurruk if you would please." Lilith calmly spoke as the mummy became active once more. "Dark Écriture: Never – Melt Ice!" The mummy chanted as his thick band of bandages unfurled from around his body and smashed into Eva's defensive emplacement with ancient runic symbols in a specific configuration glowing on each band.
Eva's wall of ice broke in an instant as a stray band slammed into Eva's retreating form who slammed into another of the cell's walls. "That's enough out of you little fairy." Kurruk patronized as he used his bandages to pick Eva up into the air. Blood was leaking from a gash on her back. Hitting the rough stone walls of the dungeon was enough to cut into Eva's skin. Scratches and rough patches of skin was also plastered across her body as well from her other impact with the walls as well. Eva felt terrible, but a burning fire of defiance and determination was in the proud Winter Fairy's eyes. "I will never give up! I will save my family and beat you!" Eva screamed as a massive surge of Yōki erupted from her tiny body. Eva's eyes glowed an ethereal white with a white aura surrounding her body. "GET OFF ME!" Eva yelled as a shockwave of her Yōki blasted Kurruk's bandages off of her small body.
"Demonic Art: Winter Fairy Cloud Manipulation!" Eva chanted as thick clouds of condensation appeared above her head that instantly turned dark grey signifying that the clouds were filled with water vapor. "Demonic Art: Winter Fairy Hydrokinetic Magic!" Eva's combo was coming together as the entire mass of swirling clouds turned into a massive surge of Yōki enhanced water. "Enough… Dark Écriture: Water Evaporation!" Kurruk challenged as the runes on his white cloths changed symbols for his new attack. Eva's water started to evaporate but not as fast as he would have thought. The sheer magnitude of her Yōki was making it impossible for Kurruk to dissipate her water.
"Very good child. You have potential." Lilith spoke as she sat upright on her mirror and leaned her head on one arm. "Yōjutsu: Bloody Ambrosia." Lilith intoned once she saw Eva launch the mass of water at her. Her powerful hell fire came into existence as it battled against Eva's enhanced attack. The Yōki in each attack mixed together fighting for dominance against one another as Eva had sweat pouring down her face while Lilith was just calmly watching the exchange of powers in front of her. "Is this all you've got! At this rate even if you did get out of here… by the time you found you precious little family they would be husks of their former selves. I've instructed my servants to break them completely so there's nothing much of them you have left to save." Lilith taunted with a cruel smirk that caused Eva to snarl in blood boiling rage.
"You evil monster! I will save my family and nothing's going to stop me!" Eva roared as her wings turned a sickly charcoal black with black snow leaking off of her wings. Eva underwent her demonic changes as the Aqua stone became visible on her body. 'That's it little girl.' Lilith purred in her mind once she saw Eva's reaction. "YŌJUTSU: WATER FESTIVAL!" Eva roared as her Yōki spike to levels she's never produced before. A brand-new technique from Eva came into existence with the rapid surge of her enhanced Yōki. Three separate surges of water that looked like her normal Water Celebration technique spawned from the massive blast of water she sent at Lilith earlier. The only difference between the techniques was that these bands of water were three times the size of her normal technique and carried a powerful amount of Yōki within.
Lilith smiled as she held out a single hand while standing up on her special mirror. "Yōjutsu: Bloody Fennel." Lilith imposed as an equal amount of blood red fire blasts intercepted Eva's attacks perfectly. The two fairies held their stances as the two elements battled it out in front of them for supremacy. Eva's boost in power meant little after a while as Lilith pushed her hand forward and her hell flames completely overtook Eva's powerful water attack with little difficulty. The Yōki within the attacks detonated with a fierce explosion that knocked Eva for a final time into a nearby wall while Lilith simply put up a barrier of her Yōki in front of her to shield herself and subsequently Kurruk as well from the backlash.
'And that's that.' Lilith pointed out within her mind while a sly grin came to her face. Levitating Eva with her powers Lilith positioned the little Winter Fairy in the center of the room. "Now it's time for the extraction ceremony." Lilith purred as a large-scale magic circle could be seen drawn on the floor with Eva now in the center. "Kurruk, draw the incantations and seal off the room. I'll take it from here." Lilith ordered as the mummy created several large symbols that arranged themselves around the already pre-drawn magic circle.
"I'll go check on the other prisoners, including the boy milady." Kurruk mentioned as he left the room. The mummy personally wanted to get a few licks in on Naruto from their encounters in the past. However, after a few minutes of traversing the underground network of bunkers and tunnels Kurruk ran into a Shadow Clone of Naruto's that he popped immediately on reflex. "That boy escaped! But how!" The bandaged Yōkai thought in shock as he raced to Naruto's now empty prison cell. The mummy could see blood everywhere on the floor but no sign of Naruto. 'I must tell Lady Lilith immediately!' Kurruk panicked as he raced back to Eva's dungeon which was in another separate facility all together. It took him nearly five minutes to get back which where precious minutes Kurruk knew a shinobi like Naruto was taking full advantage of. They decided to keep the Uzumaki family members as far apart as they possibly could both as a psychological deterrent and as a way to make sure they couldn't communicate or collaborate with each other to escape. Now that tactic was yielding some unwanted side effects.
Naruto had a head start on them. And for a shinobi that was the difference between life or death. Barging into the special cell containing Evangeline the servant Yōkai saw what used to be a tiny Fairy now a full sized human screaming on the ground in unimaginable pain. The giant glyph on the ground was glowing an ominous and sinister red color painting the walls in its light. Protruding from Eva's stomach where her bellybutton was located was a beautiful sapphire colored gem glowing in power. Blood vessels, capillaries, and veins around Eva's stomach were engorged causing her skin to turn red from the immense strain being exerted on her body. From her back Eva's four large fairy wings were writhing and twitching in pain with the golden veins giving her wings their unique pattern glowing with the same sinister red color.
"Milady! The boy has escaped!" Kurruk exclaimed in panic which distracted the powerful demonic fairy from her engrossing task. The charcoal hair colored fairy growled a beastly snarl as she turned to the trembling mummy who was blasted by an involuntary yet unremorseful dosage of killing intent from the dominating leader of the Four War Gods. "Damn that spawn of Kushina. Of course, he'd find some blasted way to escape. Shinobi are always tricky like that. They're nothing more than cockroaches." Lilith cursed as she brooded in visible anger. "Go and find the boy. He couldn't have gotten that far and it's not like he can simply leave the island. The demonic curse mark on his back will prevent it." Lilith instructed with an aggravated huff that was interrupted by a painful bout of laughter from Eva who with all of her strength managed to lift her head up to face Lilith who narrowed her eyes at the human sized winter fairy.
"It sounds like Naru got loose. He's going to rescue the girls then come for me and when that happens we're going to kick your ass lady." Eva taunted through painful gritted teeth, but it didn't stop the mocking smirk to display itself on her face. She was in unimaginable amounts of pain right now to the point she wanted to die. But if she was going to die then at the very least she was going to shoot her mouth off taunting her killer to the very end. Eva had too much fire in her to die quietly.
Lilith growled savagely at this blatant act of defiance as she summoned a ball of condensed Yōki into her hand. "You insolent little girl. You're right that he's running around freely right now and when he foolishly comes to save you I'll burn off both his arms and legs so that he can never move again. After that we will suck him dry for every ounce of chakra that he has and use him to help facilitate the restoration of my pawns to their former glory. Their power gems were taken from them long ago reducing them to naught. But once that boy out serves his purpose I'll finally rid my conscience of Kushina and Minato's spawn." Lilith coldly stated as she glared down at Eva while festering her killing intent all the while. "And the best part will be that you'll have front row seats to it all and you'll die right after him." The malevolent fairy decreed as she ruthlessly blasted Eva with the ball of energy in her hand. Eva's screams of anguish rolled off of the walls of the dungeon that drowned out Lilith's maniacal laughter.
With his orders in mind Kurruk left the dungeon to gather a search party for Naruto. Unfortunately for him and his henchmen but they would never find Naruto for the rest of the day. Making good on every second available to him Naruto made it all the way to the old ruins of the Hidden Whirlpool Village which still had standing warding spells preventing any of the demons from entering. Lilith personally didn't want anything of potential value from the ruins, so she was content to let the place be. She was well aware that some refugees hid out in that desolate area but since they couldn't leave the island the little fairy found it suitable as an everlasting tortuous punishment for the survivors.
Same Time: Chaos's POV
Booting up was always a long process for Chaos but once she came to the little Angeloid immediately took in her surroundings. Her advanced processors where taking in all of the statistical information of her surroundings to determine the best course of action to take.
~ Reactor Core: Power Supply Low/ 15% Charge ~
~ Negative Energy Corruption Level: 5% Charge ~
~ Pandora Evolution System: Energy Low/ 10% Charge ~
~ Warning: Unknown Dampening Field Encroaching ~
Chaos had a lot of things going on for her right now but the last notification she received had her attention the most. Her powers were being suppressed dramatically and looking down Chaos saw that a rusted metal choker was placed around her neck above her natural Angeloid Master Core Chain. Tugging on the chain curiously Chaos yelped in surprise when an electrical charge surged through her mechanical body causing her vision to blur with static. Spasming in response to this Chaos gurgled out a pained cry.
Chaos's voice was distorted almost like a synthesizer before her internal mechanics managed to correct these damages piling up on her. "Dada… where are you? Iris?" Chaos searched as her scanners peered through the walls with her all-seeing X – Ray Vision. Much like with the powerful Byakugan of the Hyūga Clan, Chaos's vision turned black and white as she peered into the large maze of catacombs that made up the underground dungeon. '240 Rooms in this complex… 100 Corridors… 90 dead end passages… 10 secret exits to the surface.' Chaos mentally mapped as she scanned the entire underground facility in one sweep. The complex was like a true maze with certain hallways ending in dead ends.
"Big sister… she's the closest to me… but that fairy." Chaos mumbled as she noticed a powerful fairy heading to her room alongside the very familiar mummy. Looking in another direction Chaos noted Iris's location. She was further away from the restrained Angeloid but in equally constrained situation. "Iris… the Dragon Great Demon is going to her cell." Chaos noted while seeing Ryūra's imposing figure heading to Iris's cell being flanked by a small group of weak demons. "Where's Dada…?" Chaos mumbled in concern as she logged in Naruto's location. Once she pinpointed the location of her father, Chaos's eyes widened in the dark cell she was in as she saw the state her father happened to be in. He was battered and bruised with his entire body covered in injuries no 12-year-old child should have.
"Daddy… no." Chaos mumbled in shock as her more childish less psychotic persona took over. A pang of pain and worry overtook Chaos's mind as she diagnosed her father's condition from long range using her internal scanners. He was in pretty rough shape with his chakra suppressed much like her own. 'He's in so much pain… daddy…' Chaos's singular facial expression that usually is stuck on her eerie lazy smile was contorting into a rage filled frown of concern. "They hurt daddy…" Chaos hissed as her eyes turned from her normal purple color to a violent red as she tried her best to access her powers.
~ Warning: Unknown Dampening Field in Effect ~
Chaos's internal processors and advanced programing was trying its best to warn her of the fact that her Grace and Holy Magic wasn't available to her. Whatever this rusted chain was enhanced with was very powerful yet at the same time very simple. "Diagnostics Scanning: Wide Multi Spectrum." Chaos intoned as her internal and external scanners focused down on the chain around her neck. Billions of microscopic sized scanners and nodes spread out across the surface of Chaos's skin hummed to life with a specific target in mind. Her sensitive skin was one large innerweb of scanners and nodes much like how the human skin when combined with the internal nervous system could detect pressure on the surface of the skin which allowed humans and other organic species to have the sensation of touch. Chaos's artificial skin worked very much in the same way but with far greater benefits. From any millimeter on the surface of her skin Chaos had over one hundred thousand impossibly tiny microscopic nodes and scanners that processed information happening on the surface of her skin and could even project itself outwards to collect untold amounts of data from the surrounding world around Chaos's body. On any given day her entire body is like one large scanner taking in the world around it and all of its statistical data with a lot of it being mundane information such as wind speed and temperatures. It can range to more important information such as a person's complete health scan on every level without Chaos even having to directly look at the person.
The level of sophistication regarding Chaos's being was on a level that the people of Naruto's world couldn't even begin to fathom let alone ever hope to truly understand. She was truly a transcendent being even by the standards of her creators and the world they lived in. When Chaos had a specific target in mind she could focus her entire body into one enormously powerful focusing lensed to scan something down to its very existence. Everything about the chain around her neck was dissected on a level that it was left completely naked before the apocalyptic machine's indulgence.
Thousands if not hundreds of thousands of test and scans were conducted in under three seconds as Chaos's mind processed the millions of Gigabytes worth of data with no difficulty whatsoever. "It's Fūinjutsu mixed with ancient glyphs including Holy Sigils and Witchcraft." Chaos mumbled in a voice of childish wonderment. "It's of Uzumaki design and origin." Chaos concluded once the last of the data was fully processed. 'It can hold beings from any realm of existence… it's old and not maintained well so it can't fully hold me. The most this device can do to someone like me is sever my connecting to my grace.' Chaos deduced as she stilled her body until it was like a statue. Th electrical surge from the chain was triggered by movement. If she didn't move, then she would have nothing to worry about.
'I have to save everyone. I'm an Angeloid… I don't need to rely on my grace to use my abilities. I have many different systems to draw from.' Chaos preened as she mentally went over all of her diagnostics again. She was determined to break free of her captivity and save her family. She would need to get to her father first. He was in terrible physical condition and would need medical aid. Her sister could hold her own for a little while with Eva being the next to be rescued. The longer Naruto and Eva were apart the worst their energy control would be. Naruto wouldn't be able to mold his chakra properly and Eva would have a hard time channeling her Yōki. The two were so interwoven with each other on such a deep level that these last 8 years together have had a profound effect on their existence.
If Naruto were to heal himself on his own and return to normal, then the first step would be to rescue Eva and reunite the partners. Once together they could then get Iris and have her do a complete healing on the entire family. With her priorities set straight Chaos took note of her condition. Her Reactor Core was at an all-time low of 15% which wouldn't allow Chaos to function for very long. A day or two at most, especially if she used power saving modes and functions to extend the limit of her reactor that would need time to recharge. Her Negative Energy supply was at a dismal state of 5%. She couldn't power herself or her grace for very long with that as it was also a primary fuel source for her Reactor. Her Pandora System which was what made her a special Angeloid was extremely low on power as well. Her Pandora System unknown to Chaos contained deep within its bowels the Nexus Chaos Crystal that powered the little girls existence. Her Reactor functioned as a normal or mainstream power source that handled her day to day needs. But if anything at all were too happened to her Pandora System…
While this was unknown to Chaos since her internal system checks and deep scans couldn't penetrate or detect what was inside the casing of her Pandora System core the little Angeloid always had an instinctual notion to protect that small sphere located behind her Reactor which was where her heart would be if she were human.
Digging deep Chaos piled together the pitiful amounts of energy she could muster and activated her Pandora System. A bright purple light illuminated the dark dungeon Chaos was in as the source came from the center of her chest just like the last two previous times this act occurred.
Self-Evolution Program: PANDORA System
"Engage." Chaos intoned as new programs and information flooded her mind at an incredible rate. Her wings involuntarily sprouted from her back with the shadow on the wall reflecting this occurrence. Chaos's ruby red scanners pulsed within her eyes in a hypnotic manner as she finished the download of her new set of abilities. The Pandora System acted much like the Eight Hidden Gates in a person's body. This system protects Chaos from being overwhelmed by the sheer amount of power she can wield. Power that can easily match a Seraphim or Super Devil if given the chance. Since her death and rebirth into this world all of her powers were reset to zero which is why she has had to slowly unlock them overtime to reacquaint herself with her old abilities.
New Abilities Unlocked: Hacking Field System; Paradise Song Program; Aphrodite System; P-Stealth System
Chaos felt the euphoric feeling of these new programs acclimating to the rest of her systems as her evolution had the side effect of healing her quite a bit. She recovered some of the energy from her Reactor Core at the expense of draining her Pandora System to zero. Switching to power saving modes to conserve the low amount of energy she had left Chaos activated one of her new abilities. Normally it would require a lot of energy, energy she could normally provide if she was at 100%, but the little child only planned to use this technique in a brief burst. Her power saving functions wouldn't allow her to use it to its full capabilities but that was just fine in Chaos's opinion. Once she reunited with her family she could begin to recharge at a rapid rate.
"Hacking Field: Engage." Chaos stated as a light blue sphere pulsed out from Chaos's body. The barrier was light blue in color and transparent. The barrier had an intricate design on it that depicted the numbers 1 and 0 in random numbers that actually represented the binary code. The rusted collar briefly lit up with dozens of small seals and symbols representing the suppression seal. In less than a second the seals broke rendering the restraining device obsolete. Feeling her energy returning to her Chaos reached up and ripped the collar right off of her neck. Standing up Chaos's metallic blade like wings flexed and contorted in synchronization with the little blond-haired girl who was stretching out her body that was stiff and unresponsive.
Making her way to the door Chaos was about to pry it open with her bionic super strength but stopped dead in her tracks when her sensors went haywire. Taking small fearful steps back Chaos's eyes widened in terror once the door to her cell opened up by itself. Chaos's terror increased as two very familiar woman could be seen. The harpies walked into the room with murderous grins on their faces as Chaos backpedaled away from the two sadistic and powerful Interceptor Type Angeloids. Chaos lost the breath in her lungs when the final individual walked into the cell causing the little girl to shake uncontrollably.
"It has been far too long you little brat." Minos's voice rumbled out as the tall Fallen Angel walked into the cell with a dark and foreboding grin on his face. "Master…" Chaos stuttered badly as she tripped and fell on her bottom.
Same Time: Iris's POV
The Supreme Goddess in human form woke up with a startled jolt with her cerulean luminescent eyes providing actual light for her to see in. Iris's eyes darted around the room in caution as the last memories she had was of being knocked unconscious by the Four War Gods. Iris's glow in the dark eyes provided the delicate young child with the light she needed to examine the dreary confining cell she found herself in. "Daddy…?" Iris called out with her soft voice as she took note that she was alone in her cell. Attempting to stretch out her senses Iris found a barrier in place blocking her natural senses from working. Jostling around Iris realized she had a restraining collar around her neck anchoring her in place and leading up to an anchor in the ceiling.
"They have us tied up like animals." Iris frowned in disgust as she attempted to grab the rusted metal around her neck. A wicked surge of electricity slammed into Iris's body causing the little Phoenix to cry out in pain for nearly a minute straight until the young Uzumaki finally stilled her body enough that the motion detection seals in the collar could no longer detect her. Sniffling and groaning in pain Iris gritted her teeth with tears prickling at her eyes. Her mental state wasn't that of a hardened daughter of a shinobi nor that of a primordial being. Iris's natural soft disposition was making her act more like a true six-and-a-half-year-old than that of her true self. That would need to change fast as Iris heard the sound of her cell door opening.
Looking up Iris met the eyes of Ryūra who grinned with an air of superiority surrounding him. Flanking him Iris saw several weak demon species acting in the obvious capacity as henchmen. "Well it's about time you woke up sleeping beauty. Tell me did the electric shocks work their magic?" The Dragon Daiyōkai taunted as a harsh glare worked its way onto Iris's face. Her more defiant and feisty personality was rising to the surface at the adversary in front of her. Because of her unique existence as the avatar and vessel to her true self Iris in a sense suffers from an unbalanced personality. Almost like a split personality. On most occasions she's extremely submissive, docile, quiet, and shy around any and everyone around her. At other times she's more feisty and defiant with a bit of a playful haughtiness in her during battle or in everyday situations. And in between that she's also incredibly intelligent and intuitive with a calculating persona that she partially derives from Naruto's own shrewd personality.
These persona's switch and phase between each other seamlessly at all times of the day and are in fact separate from each other to the point that even Naruto doesn't know. He mistakenly interprets Iris's broad personality as her default one that any child would have when in reality her mind is fractured under the immense weight of baring Sōkyoku inside of her who she gains the attributes of each and every day.
"No, but you repugnant face sure does the trick." Iris growled out as she pulled her legs into her chest. She was glaring daggers at the group of demons in front of her while internally she was analyzing each and every one of them to determine what the best course of action to take would be. Hearing the blatant disrespectful insult Ryūra raised an eyebrow before barking in laughter. "Insults. We've got a fighter over here. For one so young to have such fire in them is always good to see." The dragon demon responded as he inched closer to Iris who couldn't go anywhere in the cell. "I've been wondering for a long time about what you are after my brother's encounter with you back in the Land of Waves. He almost lost his entire hand when he plunged it into you. It was incinerated from your holy aura. My master has even encountered you twice and both times you've warded her off without lifting a single finger. Just what manner of being are you little one?" Ryūra curiously asked as he placed his hand on Iris's face and examined her with her naturally glowing blue eyes glaring back at him with an intensity that could kill a lesser man on the spot.
"Get your hand off me you vile creature. Where is my family? Where is my daddy?" Iris growled out as Ryūra's face contorted into a look of offense as he lashed out with the hand on Iris's face and struck the child with a force that could kill a human child of the same age. Iris's head snapped to the side as the collar around her neck registered the disruptive amount of movement and opened up a channel of electricity into the tiny girls body that had her screams reverberating off the walls around them.
Once the electrocution stopped Ryūra roughly grabbed Iris by her face again getting her to look at the powerful dragon. "You should really respect your elders child and as for that pathetic human boy he's not your father. Not by blood and in no way other. A being such as yourself can't be the child to that human." Ryūra chastised as Iris glared back at Ryūra with hate in her eyes. "Elders… be careful what you say CHILD. For a being such as me that is an insult." Iris said as she mimicked what Sōkyoku would have definitely said in this situation. Ryūra's age wasn't even comparable to a grain of sand on a desert world in comparison to Sōkyoku who has existed from before time itself was created.
Feeling miffed at this Ryūra stood up as he regained his composure. "Well that we can agree on. I'm dying to know just what you are." Ryūra commented as one of the demons brought in a tray that had two items on it that caused Iris's eyes to widen in shock and fear. "I don't know if these things will kill you while that suppression collar is on you or not but only one way to find out." The Daiyōkai grinned as he reached over onto the tray and picked up a dark and jagged looked sword that radiated Yōki from deep within. "This Demon Sword should pierce your skin." The blue haired demon said as he walked up to Iris who was scooting back across the floor as far as she could go before her back hit the wall.
"No don't." Iris begged as Ryūra grinned in satisfaction at the dominance he had over his prey. Placing the metal of the blade against Iris's skin both individuals watched as it began to sizzle and react from making contact with Iris's divine body. The blade began to form cracks on it as the blade heated up. It was slowly being destroyed just from touching Iris's body which fascinated Ryūra who stared at it with interest glazing over his eyes. "Magnificent. This confirms to me that you are some kind of celestial or holy being. You possess such divinity within you. This is a powerful demon sword. Not the strongest or any of note but still properly forged none the less. To have it react like this proves that you're something special. If you were an angel, it wouldn't be breaking down like this. It isn't even causing you an ounce of pain either."
Ryūra hypothesized as he rubbed the blade up and down Iris's arm as it started to disintegrate before everyone's eyes. Even with Iris's powers currently locked away her body was still divine in nature and the sword was paying the price as 3/4ths of the blade was already gone in under ten seconds. "Let's try this then." Ryūra suggested as he turned the flat surface of the blade over and cut into Iris's arm in one quick slash. Blood sprayed out from Iris's wound along with her childish screams that wickedly warmed Ryūra's heart who laughed in Iris's face. A golden mist mustered into the air from the blood sprayed onto the floor that was overflowing with sheer life energy. Iris's blood seeped onto a few weeds that managed to grow between the cracks in the bricks that made up the floor around them.
That one weed in under five seconds bloomed into a full-blown bush before everyone's eyes which shocked even Ryūra who saw the small but steady trail of blood flowing down Iris's arm onto the ground. Along with it was of course holy aura which made Ryūra's body burn and itch all over, but he ignored it the best he could to look at Iris who had a pained grimace on her face. The cut was already starting to heal over at an accelerated rate while the blood itself evaporated into the air turning into the golden mist wafting around the enclosed room. Looking at the sword in his hand Ryūra smiled as the entire blade itself was gone once it cut into Iris's skin. The handle itself was crumbling apart as well as Ryūra let the ash and dust from the completely destroyed demon blade pour out of his hand onto the ground.
"Incredible…" Ryūra breathlessly said as he turned a contemplative eye to the second sword laying on the tray. "The demon sword didn't even manage to blight you even though your clearly hail from divinity. Your skin should have turned black and blue with the corrosive effects of the blight that would poison and eventually kill an angel or celestial being, yet you don't even have a single blemish on your skin." Ryūra commented as Iris's cut completely healed over without a scratch. The blood on the floor was also gone with it evaporating into the enchanting and beautiful golden mist hanging lightly in the air of the cell. The weak demons were choking on this mist with the weakest of them dropping dead from just coming into contact with this miniscule amount of divinity from Iris's body. Ryūra was alright but he could feel a burning sensation in his lungs that even he couldn't ignore. The pain was unbearable but the powerful Dragon Daiyōkai was hanging tough while his subordinates succumbed to a phenomena that wasn't even purposefully orchestrated by Iris herself.
"Is this what you like… torturing children… you sick bastard." Iris growled as she cursed in Ryūra's face. She wasn't one to ever use profanity but without the presence of her father around and the fact her more aggressive and defiant personality was dominant right now it lead to this side of the normally sweet and kind child.
"Perhaps… but meeting a powerful beings such as you gets my blood boiling. I want to know what makes you tick." Ryūra explained as he put a specialized protective glove on his hand that glowed with magical glyphs. Walking back over to the tray Ryūra picked up a beautiful silver and gold sword that radiated a concentrated amount of holy aura. "This island has a lot of buried treasure on it. The Uzumaki Clan had treasures and tools from many different pantheons and organizations that allowed them to combat any supernatural threat that dared attack this world. They served as an international police force that regulated the flow of supernatural creatures in the world and not only did the hunt down the dangerous ones and sealed them away with their powerful Fūinjutsu, but they also protected the so called innocent ones from persecution. To do this incredibly difficult job they would need tools from all walks of life to complete this task." Ryūra monologued as he examined the sword in his hand.
"Let's see what this Holy Sword does to you without your powers." Ryūra inquired as he placed the blade against Iris's skin and immediately the sword lit up in uncontrollable waves of power. It was so much in fact that Ryūra almost dropped the blade in pain. The magical glove he was wearing to actually safely pick up the enchanted blade that would normally kill him from prolonged contact started to burn from the supercharge Iris involuntarily gave it. "Oh… I'm going to enjoy this." Ryūra said as he eyed his own two treasured swords on his back in appreciation before turning that appreciative gaze to the empowered sword in his aching hand.
"Don't…" Iris pleaded as she tried to move as far away from Ryūra as possible, but it wasn't to be since she was already pressed up against the wall of the cell. Seeing the sadistic man pointing the blade right at her Iris kicked out with her feet at the last moment knocking the blade away from her body which caused a snarl to work its way onto Ryūra's face. "Now, now, little one. Behave yourself." The Daiyōkai growled as he stepped on Iris's leg nearly crushing it under his weight if she were a human. Taking the holy sword Ryūra pushed it forward and stabbed Iris directly in the stomach with the blade of the sword glowing a mesmerizing gold from the supercharge she gave it.
Iris's scream shook the room they were in as the small child grimaced in pain. Ryūra laughed merrily at this as he ripped the sword right out of Iris's stomach and in that very same moment a blinding white light exploded from the wound on Iris's stomach.
Pure.
That was the one word that could describe the light that peered out in a cone like fashion lighting up the room directly in front of the blond-haired child like a flashlight. In less than a millisecond the weak bodyguard demons that accompanied Ryūra to Iris's cell were vaporized on the spot the second this brilliant light shined on them. Their demonic bodies couldn't even comprehend the vastness that was the divine light washing over them as their lives came to an end before any of them could process a thought. The light that came out of Iris's body traveled at the speed of light leaving those unfortunate demons absolutely no time to react as Ryūra who was next to Iris jumped back to the far corner of the cell with half of his body badly burned from the purifying light that nearly incinerated him on the spot.
Iris sobbed out pain filled tears as the shock of the pain she was feeling forcibly switched her personalities as her more shy and childlike persona took over once more. Gritting her teeth in pain Iris felt her wound regenerating at a pace that shouldn't be possible. The pain was gone in under 10 seconds but in that small frame of time four life forms were completely incinerated from existence. Their souls that should have passed through her body into the afterlife since she acts as a shortcut gateway for souls close to her didn't detect their passing. The souls of those demons burned away in that intense burst of light as well completely erasing them from existence. It pained Iris greatly to know this fact as she shed silent tears in prayer for those who while wronged her didn't deserve to die in such a way.
Ryūra himself had a look of bewilderment on his face that soon gave way to hysteria then realization. "You're some kind of God aren't you…?" Ryūra questioned breathlessly as he stared at the black shadow like marks on the far wall that signified all the evidence that remained of his formed henchmen. Ryūra was expecting an answer from Iris but he never got one as the sirens in the catacombs went off. Another grunt came to the door with a message in tow for Ryūra who turned to the skinny bird yōkai who spoke even before Ryūra could address him. "It's the human boy…! He's escaped from his cell!" This one message was all it took for Ryūra's mood to change as his eyes widened in shock that anyone could escape this dungeon. It shouldn't have been possible even with how outdated and unkept the place may be.
"Lock down the entire dungeon and send out search teams. The boy needs to be kept alive." Ryūra ordered as he watched the grunt run off with his orders. Ryūra had an overwhelmed but enlightened look in his dark blue eyes as he once again placed his hand on Iris's face. Turning it slowly from side to side Ryūra shook his head in a patronizing way. "This is just too much… now that I know what you can do I can never let you leave this island. The boy that you're bound to… as long as he bares our mark its effects will affect you too. He will be kept alive." Ryūra declared as tears prickle out of Iris's shining blue eyes.
"Daddy's going to come for me… and when he does we will defeat you." Iris promised as she stared defiantly into Ryūra's eyes. Fear filled tears were still falling down her face, but her mind was a jumbled mess as it transitioned between her different personas with Ryūra being none the wiser. The stress and fear she was feeling bubbled over with the very recent announcement that her father managed to escape. Hope bloomed in her chest that things could turn around but the look in Ryūra's eyes promised otherwise.
"We'll see about that little one. When I bring back that boy bloody and broken I can't wait to see your spirits crushed. Don't place your hope in a pathetic human who can't even save himself to ever help you. Once I break him in front of you it will be your turn… I'll make you my pet to serve me. With your power I can take mines to new heights. I could probably even rival or surpass Lady Lilith once she retrieves the Aqua Stone from that little Fairy." Ryūra fantasized as he got up to leave the cell. "You're now the property of the Four War Gods and a precious resource… but most importantly of all my dear… you're my future pet." Ryūra declared with a graveled tone that sent shivers up Iris's spine. With that the Dragon Daiyōkai left Iris's cell with the little primordial girl being left alone to her solitude.
"Daddy please be okay." Iris prayed silently as she closed her eyes in grieve.

[Fire on the Mystic Island Arc]
Jutsu Library
1.) Yōjutsu: Water Celebration - A Demonic technique that Eva created that allows her to rapidly form a large volume of water that is cerulean in color instead of the normal clear color water takes. It is thick and heavier than normal water and it can blast through objects and break them a lot easier than normal water can. Eva can control this water at will and she can create large volumes of it.
2.) Dark Écriture: Repulsive Barrier - A spell that summons a purple translucent barrier that blocks or traps people or objects within. Anything that comes in contact with the barrier will be blown back by an invisible shockwave hence the name. However, if the thing crashing into the barrier is heavy enough or fast enough then the barrier will not be able to bounce the attack back and it will break.
3.) Yōjutsu: Bloody Ambrosia - Lilith's signature technique that she falls back on due to personal preference. Summoning her magical glyph Lilith generates a massive fireball of blood red hell fire that burns hotter than normal fire. Lilith then launches the fireball that takes the shape of a sunflower that rapidly expands in diameter as it travels away from Lilith. The flames are so hot that it can instantly raise the natural temperature of the environment around it to unbearable levels while the illumination of the flames itself are bright enough to be spotted from great distances.
4.) Demonic Art: Winter Fairy Scald Generation - A technique that allows Eva to generate boiling hot water which is so hot that it can melt and erode away metal and steel. Eva can heat up any body of water she exerts her control over or she can generate the scalding water itself. It is a move that she instinctively knows, and it is one of several that all of the winter fairies are capable of using.
5.) Demonic Art: Summer Fairy Drought Control - A unique technique that allows a Summer Fairy to affect the weather patterns of the area around them and bring about droughts into the area to heat up a place as appose to their counterparts in the Winter Fairies who can lower the temperature of the region and bring about Winter like weather. Like all-natural Seasonal Fairy magic, it is a move that they instinctively know, and it is one of several that all of the Summer Fairies are capable of using.
6.) Yōjutsu: Ice Wall - A demonic technique that Eva can use in which she creates a large wall of ice to separate herself from oncoming attacks. The technique is strong and can hold against even fire attacks however if the fire attack in general is enhanced with Yōki or is a demonic fire attack to begin with then her shield can be overpowered.
7.) Dark Écriture: Never – Melt Ice - This particular spell allows the user to melt or destroy any thing made of ice on physical contact.
8.) Demonic Art: Winter Fairy Cloud Manipulation - A technique that allows Eva to control cloud formations in the sky and create clouds of her own around her. It is a move that she instinctively knows, and it is one of several that all of the winter fairies are capable of using.
9.) Demonic Art: Winter Fairy Hydrokinetic Magic - A technique that allows Eva to rip the water molecules out of the air around her to form constructs out of water in any environment. The stronger the Winter Fairy is the larger the volume of water they can created out of thin air. It is a move that she instinctively knows, and it is one of several that all of the winter fairies are capable of using.
10.) Dark Écriture: Water Evaporation - A magic spell that evaporates water in close proximity to the spell caster. It is not long range, nor does it cover a large amount of area. It also cannot evaporate large volumes of water either.
11.) Yōjutsu: Water Festival - The first variation and advanced form of Eva's signature Water Celebration Technique. Eva summons copious amounts of water from the surrounding air and through the generation of her Yōki. Eva separates the water and fires them off in multiple blast that are three times the size of a regular Water Celebration attack. Eva can also just launch the attack as one large blast instead of firing multiple shots.
12.) Yōjutsu: Bloody Fennel - A versatile and long ranged technique that allows Lilith to spawn multiple powerful fire blasts that can attack multiple targets or bombard a single opponent from multiple angles. The spouts of fire are incredibly hot allowing Lilith to melt through targets with ease and extreme precision.
13.) Hacking Field - This unique and widely unknown technique that Chaos has access to allows her the omniscient ability to hack computer systems, other Angeloids, and humans, blocking or unblocking memories and abilities. A blue translucent and transparent sphere pulses out from the center of Chaos's body. On the surface of the sphere are an intricate pattern of the numbers 1 and 0 that represent the binary code. The fundamental laws of reality are negated by this invasive program that incorporates elements of Telepathy; Matter Manipulation; Vitakinesis (Health Manipulation); and more unknown abilities all in one. She can also "hack" into vegetation such as plants to alter their genetic makeup giving a plant unique biological abilities that are unnatural to it by nature. With her hacking, she can also shoot a blast of energy similar to a Psi Blast, that directly targets the mind.
Dark Écriture - A magic spell that is more aligned to dark magic. While magic is something that does not naturally exist in the Elemental Nations and cannot be learned by normal means by the natives of the planet supernatural creatures that visit this plane of existence are more than capable of using magic. This brand of Magic (Dark Écriture) Which is another way of saying scripture is a form of Letter Magic that allows the caster to write runes, sometimes without a writing tool such as a pen or a quill, for various types of effects. Essentially, the spells used for this Magic work only on what the caster writes with it; in other words, what they write goes as follows, making it a sort of "rule" in using Dark Écriture.
Self-Evolution Program: PANDORA System - This incredibly powerful system inside of Chaos is a program that as the name implies allows Chaos to self-evolve and adapt to changes in her environment over time without restrictions. The system keeps a record of every program and special ability owned by Chaos and when certain conditions are met allows Chaos to evolve to allow her body to handle the influx of power that the new ability affords her. Chaos's Pandora System works differently than the standard model in the fact that it is always active in a passive mode allowing her the ability to learn and increase her intelligence and personality over time. Chaos's Pandora System is activated under intense bursts of emotions with the strongest stimuli being determination and love. The program can also activate to save Chaos's life in dire situations to give her access to a beneficial technique that can allow her to reverse the situation she's in. Unknown to Chaos is the fact that deep within the casing that houses the Pandora Core is the Nexus Chaos Crystal that gives her life and is connected to a primordial entity.
Author's Note (A/N): Hey guys how was that. Again, we must endure the torture and uncomfortable circumstances of the Uzumaki families captivity as we see the fates of the girls while Naruto escaped his cell. He was never going to find them as it is revealed through Chaos's observations that the entire facility had 100 corridors with 90 of them leading to dead ends and 240 rooms. In his condition Naruto was never going to be capable of checking all of them nor would he even be capable of fighting any of the guards let alone the Four War Gods if he came across them.
From Eva's POV we learn that Lilith is beginning her extraction of the Aqua Stone out of Eva's body. After a brief skirmish that Lilith allowed she tested Eva's abilities who had to fight on her own for the first time in a very long time against an opponent. Eva's feisty nature rears its head once again as she doesn't go down without a fight impressing Lilith in the process. We also get to see Lilith in a true one on one fight with her actually participating for the first time and we are allowed to see the major power gap between her and Eva. (Fun Fact: Lilith's techniques are named after plants.)
From Chaos's POV we see our favorite tiny terror being the most mobile out of the others so far as she manages to use her unique benefits of being an Angeloid to her advantage. Using her scanners, she found her family in no time flat, but it was their conditions specifically Naruto's in particular that set Chaos off. Using her Pandora System Chaos evolved so that she could break out of her confines. We also learn a little bit about her physiology and personality as her determination allows her to go the distance for her family. But that all comes to a crashing a halt when Minos along with the Harpies enter her cell. What will Chaos do now that she is finally confronted by her master after all this time.
From Iris's POV we see the princess in dire straits as Ryūra reveals himself to be a sadistic sadist who has taken an unhealthy interest in Iris for her divinity and uniqueness that baffles the others around her. We are forced to endure an uncomfortable torture scene from Ryūra as he test out the effects of both a Demon Sword and Holy Sword on Iris and we get to see the startling side effects of these actions. We are also treated to the inside view of Iris's interesting psyche that explains away her random switches in personality that has been witnessed many times within the story.
What will be the fate of the girls and will Naruto make it in time to save his family? Will the rescue party reach the island and what kind of battle can we expect to happen with the inevitable clash between these two powerful forces? Stay tuned to find out in the next chapter!
