Chapter 19
"Are YOU kidding me?!" Sebastian yelled out every time he tried to get up only to plop right back down on the couch.
PLOP!
"Uggggh!" Sebastian fell down AGAIN after his sixth attempt.
"Motherfuck!" Sebastian grew frustrated as he struggled to get up from the couch in Blaine's living room. His protruding three and a half month pregnant belly was making his life more difficult as it GREW and GREW.
Normal everyday tasks like simply getting up from his seat became such a hassle for the young father-to-be. Sebastian couldn't take it anymore. He wanted to give up but he REALLY had to go use the bathroom. It was like the baby was resting on his bladder, which made him CONSTANTLY urinate.
THAT was ONE of the annoying things about pregnancy.
'THAT'S IT! I CAN'T TAKE IT!" Sebastian angrily thought.
"Blaaaaaainnnne!" The agitated father shouted to his roommate who was upstairs with his boyfriend doing god knows what. Sebastian went downstairs to give the young couple privacy. He didn't want to see the couple being all lovey dovey. He just had breakfast. So he kindly went downstairs to give them space. He was sooooo bored. It was Saturday afternoon and Mickey was unavailable due to baseball practice. So there was Sebastian bored, alone and really having to pee!
'Yes Sebastian!" Blaine appeared on top of the stairs with Kurt's arms wrapped around his waist, kissing his neck and holding onto him like a life preserver.
Sebastian wanted to throw up at the sight of Blaine's dashing smile. He held back.
It was really sweet how they were in love. Sebastian just tried not to be bitter about the couple's obvious love for each other.
Of course he was HAPPY for Kurt and Blaine.
He just didn't want their love shoved in his face while he was alone. It wasn't their fault though.
He would have someone if he didn't shove a certain someone away.
"I need help." Sebastian says shoving his bitterness in the back of his mind.
"Ugh, what was that Sebastian? I'm sorry... I'm a little..." Blaine kissed Kurt softly that made Kurt giggle and Sebastian trying hard not to roll his eyes. "Busy".
"I can see that." Again, he said trying hard not to sound too angry.
"Can you two detach for one second? I can't believe I'm about to say this but... " Sebastian stops and Blaine immediately noticed something wrong with his friend. He looked up with a serious expression.
"What is it? Sebastian, what's wrong?" Blaine asked concerned as he and Kurt finally broke up their little makeout session. Kurt looked on with concern as well but didn't say anything.
"Uhhhh... No! Goddamn it!" Sebastian all but screamed. Blaine came to a standstill and Kurt narrowed his eyes. And the poor pregnant boy stood still, eyes angry but expression so, so embarrassed. "Can you come here, Blaine?"
Kurt stared at him coldly. But Blaine took action.
"Kurt?" Blaine asked. "Give me a minute."
"OK." He replied. But not without an obnoxious and lengthy kiss to his boyfriend's cheek. Sebastian watched, wishing he could take Pepto-Bismol.
After that bit of showmanship, Blaine tried to wipe away his half-smile as he descended the staircase. He came to a springy stop and looked at the pregnant boy.
Instantly, his smarminess vanished. Blaine could easily see something was wrong and Sebastian just stood there, head slightly bowed and lips pursed.
"What's wrong, Seb?" he asked.
But Sebastian struggled to respond. So, he asked again. And again.
"I'm trying to tell you!" Sebastian yelled.
Blaine stared at him and the pregnant boy relented. Instead, he turned a little to the left and pointed to his pants. Blaine's eyes widened!
"Oh, that's real helpful Blainey boy!"
Blaine shook himself out of it. "OK, OK. I'm sorry." He bit a thumbnail and looked back up at Seb. "What do you need?"
"What do you think I need?"
"Seeeeeb…just tell me."
Barely a half a second later, Sebastian quietly replied, "Just help me…upstairs."
"OK… And then what?"
He fought the urge to roll his eyes. "I need to get changed and…cleaned up."
Suddenly, Blaine found his backbone. "You got it." He put his arm around Sebastian's waist and steered him towards the stairs. They began climbing one step at a time. The poor, embarrassed pregnant boy staggered now and then and a small whimper escaped his mouth.
"It's alrigh-"
"Shut up, Blaine."
Blaine did just that. Instead, they waddled up the staircase in silence. It took them a while, hands embracing hips and handrails, and legs struggling to work right. And in the end, they finally made it to the top of the stairs and Sebastian was quietly relieved that Kurt didn't see this. Regardless, they made it into the bathroom and Blaine wordlessly set his pregnant friend on the toilet.
After grabbing a fresh pair of stretch pants and underwear for Sebastian, he hurried back into the bathroom where Sebastian was finishing up. The embarrassed boy looked up and saw the clothes in Blaine's hand.
"Uggghh…" Seb whined. "Not those ugly stretch pants."
"Well, I couldn't find another clean pair." Blaine said. "Well, except for your seven pairs of Calvin Kleins."
"I like my Calvins! I want my Calvins!" Seb whined.
"No." Blaine primly said. "You can't fit in them anymore."
"Yes, I can!"
"No, you can't!" And then, Blaine relented a little. "Besides, they make your ass look fatter than it already is and you don't want to have an…accident in them."
"Oh, thanks a lot, Blainey! You're soooo kind. So fucking, miserably kind."
Blaine fought off a little smile and handed the boxers and jeans to the stricken boy. There was something not quite right about watching him change, so Blaine semi-turned around. His eyes scoured the tile in the bathroom, noticing for the first time that some of it wasn't straight. He refused to look in the mirror, fearing a reflection of Sebastian's body might be in it. Seconds turned into tense seconds and Seb seemed to be taking his time. But Blaine knew he wasn't. He knew his friend was uncomfortable and struggling and even once considered offering to help.
"I hate this…" Sebastian so, so softly said.
Blaine kept his back to him. "What?"
"Nothing…"
But Blaine turned around, not liking the tone of voice from Sebastian. "No. Tell me."
The pregnant boy was now dressed and standing by the toilet. His head was down again and all he could do was act like a mannequin.
"I hate this, Blaine. Oh God, I hate this." Seb quietly said, putting his hands over his eyes. "I just fucking hate this. I don't even know what the hell I'm doing." And then, he lowered his hands and strickenly looked at Blaine. "I want out."
Small alarm bells went off in Blaine's head. "Seb. You don't mean-"
"I don't even know anymore…"
He flopped on the toilet seat and thought he deserved to be there. Blaine stared at him and wasn't exactly sure how to handle this.
"You know," Blaine casually began, resting his butt on the counter, "I never thought I'd have a discussion with you about abor-"
"Then don't start." Sebastian nastily interrupted.
Blaine sighed. "OK. Then, let's don't."
"Alright."
Nothing was said for a long moment. Sebastian couldn't lift his head and Blaine found himself looking out the window. His mom's imitation portcullis around their mansion looked like it needed a new coat of polyurethane. He half-smiled at that. It's not like she'd ever ask HIM to do that. She'd hire it done. At least, if she wanted it done properly.
"What's so funny?" Sebastian asked. Blaine was surprised to see Sebastian staring up at him.
"Oh. Nothing."
"No, what? Laughing at how pathetic I am?"
Blaine was appalled! "No! No way! I was just thinking about some yard work my mom wants done soon. That's all." Seb looked like he didn't quite believe him but let it go. So, Blaine continued. "You're scared and uncomfortable, Sebastian. I'm not gonna insult you with telling you that I know how you feel, but what I can tell you is that you will be fine." And then, he leaned towards the pathetic, pregnant boy and quietly added, "You will always have a home here."
"I'm fat." Sebastian flatly said.
"Well, you're pregnant."
Sebastian glared at him and Blaine relented. "I only meant that you-"
"I get it, Blaine." The pregnant boy then heavily sighed, stroking his protruded belly. "This little one in here is making me very pissy today."
"Sounds like that's understandable."
Sebastian came to a complete stop. The pains in his abdomen intensified and he almost came to tears as he painfully said, "My own parents don't even want me."
Blaine scooted his butt to the floor and curled his legs up, elbows resting on his knees. "I can't understand them, Sebastian. But as I said before, you will always-"
"Have a home here, I know Blaine. But still…"
Blaine considered placing a hand on Sebastian's thigh for comfort, but hesitated. Instead, he placed it on the bathroom floor. He so badly wanted to say something, anything to comfort this pregnant boy. But no words came to mind. Instead, he just sat there and refused to look up at Sebastian. He certainly didn't want to set the pregnant boy off or anything, but soon, his butt would become very sore. In the end, it was Kurt who saved the day.
"Blaine?" This question came from across the bedroom.
"Yeah, Kurt?"
"Can I come in?"
Seb craned his head towards the door and yelled, "No, gay face! Go lead a gay pride parade you gay faced gay face!"
"Sebastian!" Blaine snapped.
"Oh. Sorry." Seb was hardly sorry but produced that Smythe Smirk. "It's funny though, Blaine. After that, I feel better."
Blaine rolled his eyes and stood up. "Stay here, Seb."
"Happily!"
Blaine left and Sebastian's smile soon left his face. He couldn't really hear them but realized Kurt needed attention too. A diva always does. At least, that's what Sebastian thought.
At least two minutes passed. Sebastian was growing impatient, but the little one in his abdomen proved to him just how difficult it could be to get up. So, he waited for Blaine to finish and wasn't waiting very patiently. He craned his head towards the mirror. AT LEAST MY HAIR STILL LOOKS GOOD, he thought.
Suddenly, Blaine appeared. "OK, Seb. Kurt's gone. I told him you were a hot mess, WHICH YOU ARE, and we needed to talk some more."
"Oh, how kind of you Blainey! I can always count on you."
"Shut up."
Sebastian giggled and turned back around. "Help me up, will you Blaine?"
But Blaine didn't move. "Sebastian? Have you heard from Dave?"
The pregnant boy, who was leaning forward to get up, flopped back on the seat. He stared at the wall and didn't really see it. There was a vacuous silence then and Blaine knew something was up.
"Sebastian?"
"Yes, Blaine. I have heard from him." He wriggled towards the edge and put his arm up towards his friend.
"Well?" Blaine asked, snatching Seb's wrist. "What did he say?"
That's when Sebastian started to stand up. Conversation completely stopped as Blaine struggled a little. Sebastian did too, placing his other hand on the shower doors and finally standing as erect as possible. The poor boy was out of breath and needed a few seconds to withstand the change in blood pressure. Another darting pain placed one of his delicate hands on his abdomen and then it went away. Blaine relaxed his grip on Seb's wrist but didn't let go. Slowly, they turned and headed towards the door.
"Sebastian?"
"He said that…" He squinted a little and let out a little breath before adding, "I look fat."
"Seeeeeb!"
They got to the door and Sebastian came to a stop. "He said he'd help if he could."
"You told him?!"
Seb groaned. "He figured it out." They hobbled through the room and was just about to sit on the bed together when Sebastian calmly said, "I still love him, Blaine."
"What?!" Blaine's eyes nearly bulged out of his head. He couldn't decide if he heard his friend correctly.
"Hey, Blaine!" This voice came from downstairs. It belonged to Steven Anderson, Blaine's father.
"Yeah, dad?"
"Come downstairs. Your mother and I want to talk to you."
"OK! Just as soon as I help-"
But Steven interrupted. "Sebastian? You too!"
The boys looked at each other, totally confused. Blaine haphazardly said, "We're on our way."
It's a good thing they didn't get much of a chance to sit down on the bed. Sebastian REALLY struggled to get up from a bed and he didn't like the idea of thinking about it. Instead, they hobbled towards the door and couldn't really walk side-by-side. The trek to the top of the stairs was difficult and Sebastian was already out of breath again. So, Blaine took the opportunity.
"What do you mean?" He whispered. "You're still in love with Dave?" Sebastian wouldn't answer. "Seb!"
The pregnant boy started walking again and Blaine kept up.
"I said no such thing, Blaine."
And before Blaine could respond, Sebastian took the first step down the staircase. Blaine looked exasperated but said nothing further. And Sebastian had much bigger things to think about. What really concerned him was Blaine's dad. This didn't sound good to him. It just didn't and he felt his heartrate go up even further, despite the physical exertion from the stairs. They got halfway down and came to yet another stop to catch their breath. And while they waited, Sebastian grew even more nervous. Just what in the world could Steven Anderson want with Sebastian?
.
AN: Uh oh... What do you guys think Blaine's dad wants? Second part to this is coming soon. Sorry for the cliffhanger guys, but this seemed like a good place to stop. :)
What do you guys think so far? Did anyone catch Sebastian's little slip up about Dave? ;)
Let me know what you all thought. More to come soon. Thank you all for reading. :)
