Ok, on to the story. This starts off where we last left Kurt and Mickey. I wanted to try something different so no Sebastian until chapter 24.

There is a reason for this. I hope you all understand.

This is not beta'd. I tried.

Ok, that's all I wanted to say. I won't spoil anymore. If you have questions let me know. Please review. Please be kind.

Chapter 22

"What do you mean that you're in love with Sebastian?" Kurt said. He started his car up and they were both off to his house to talk. It started raining HARD at the park, so they both had to get the hell out of there to avoid the rain.

"What the hell do you think I mean? It sounds like how I just said it. I love Sebastian. I'm in love with him. And there is NO WAY you're going to stop me from telling him." Mickey wiped a few tears from his eyes. The poor guy looked so miserable. His eyes were puffy and red and he just looked like the weight of the world was on his shoulders.

Kurt honestly felt bad for him.

"Mickey, I didn't know that you're gay. I thought you were into Quinn? You two seemed to really hit it off that one time at Sebastian's house. What happened?" Kurt said as he finally pulled up in his garage and cut the engine off. They sat in that car and didn't go inside like planned.

"First off, I'm not exactly gay. I just love one guy. It doesn't necessarily make me gay. And second Quinn and I are just friends. We went on one date and it was OK but we both decided we are better off as friends." Mickey fidgeted with his hands not even looking at Kurt.

"Wow… um ok. I stand corrected." Kurt shifted in his seat. He wanted to say more and question Mickey more about his sexuality but he couldn't bring himself too. But he was concerned about his friend.

" I know what you're thinking." Mickey said and Kurt flashed his head toward him.

"Oh? What am I thinking?" Kurt perked up and turned his attention to Mickey.

"You're thinking I shouldn't tell Sebastian, and you're probably right. But he NEEDS to know. He has to."

"Damn, you're good." Kurt replied with a giggle but it quickly died when he saw Mickey so clearly hurt.

"When did you fall in love with him?" Kurt asked hopefully to shift focus so Mickey could think before he acted. But Kurt was also curious. Where did all of this come from? It seemed to come out of nowhere. Kurt HAD to get to the bottom of this.

This seemed to perk up Mickey as well because he suddenly smiled.

"The very first day we met." Mickey smiled but he seemed to be far away. He smiled at the memory.

"Oh really? Tell me more." Kurt replied with a matching smile of his own.

"We were both freshman at Dalton. It was the first day of school of course. I was sitting by myself in the grand hallway entrance area. I was reading, I don't remember the book because I was pretending to read. I didn't want to talk to anyone or anyone talking to me. I was shy back then. If you can believe that!" Mickey slapped his knee laughing. Kurt just grinned and said nothing.

Mickey continued.

"Anyways, out of the corner of my eye I see this blurry tall and lanky figure coming toward me fast. It was so quick it made my head spin. But it came closer and closer and sat right next to me."

"Then what happened?" Kurt said fully invested in the story now. This reminded him of when he met Blaine at Dalton. He wondered if that place was magical or something. Or if it was fate? Whatever it was Kurt's heart fluttered. He had to turn his attention to Mickey. So he did.

"He was speaking but I didn't hear what he said at first. I was too distracted by his kind eyes." Mickey said.

"Sebastian? Kind?" Kurt joked.

"Shut up." Mickey laughed.

"I'm kidding." Kurt relented.

"So, as I was saying… I was distracted. My god he was BEAUTIFUL. He was talking SO fast that I asked him "Where the fire? What's the hurry about?" Hell I almost sang "Vienna" by Billy Joel to him!" Mickey again laughed but sobered up his expression fast. Kurt sighed.

"He told me to pretend that we knew each other so his mom could leave him alone. I looked at him like he was crazy. But then I looked over his shoulder and he wasn't lying. There Mrs. Smythe was in her pink Gucci outfit yelling at Sebastian about making friends or some weird shit." Mickey rubbed his face.

"Oh dear God!" Kurt exclaimed.

"I know right! Embarrassing. So after that Mrs. Smythe left and we began talking for real. And we both realized we had A LOT in common. So from that point on we became best friends and I fell HARD." Mickey again covered his eyes with his hands and began shaking. Kurt grew concerned.

"Mickey?"

"Oh GOD! Kurt! Help me! This hurts!" Mickey panicked, wailed and panicked and Kurt immediately sprung into action.

"Mic-Mickey… Mickey!" Kurt had to yell over the young guy's cries. Kurt also literally had to shake Mickey's shoulders too.

This got his attention. He sniffled and watched Kurt.

"Oh God… Look at me. I'm pathetic." Mickey whispered.

"No, you're not. Stop that." Kurt said as he dropped his arms off of Mickey's shoulders. Mickey seemed to calm himself enough.

"You're hurt. And sad. Its understandable. But Mickey listen to me. Are you listening?" Kurt asked and Mickey nodded.

"I know this hurts. I know. BUT you CANNOT tell Sebastian any of what you just told me. You understand? And before you protest. Hear me out." Kurt quickly said before Mickey had a chance to speak. He just nodded and sighed.

"Mickey, you know who Sebastian will end up with." Mickey rolled his eyes. Of course he knew. It doesn't mean he didn't like it.

"I'm not saying this to be mean or hurt you. But Dave's the father of Sebastian's unborn child. And by that they are forever bonded. And Sebastian may not realize this now but he loves Dave. And Dave loves him. You have to let them find each other first before you ruin your friendship." Kurt said and Mickey HATED that Kurt was right. He pouted.

"You know I'm right." Kurt wiped a tear that fell out of Mickey's eye. And Mickey let him.

"If you truly love him… You have to let him go Mickey. Its what's best for everyone." Kurt said as Mickey fell on him and cried.

"I'm sorry." Is all Kurt could say.

"But I love him!" Mickey painfully protested.

"I know you do. Please don't tell him now. Trust me. You will be OK. I promise." Kurt and Mickey sat for the rest of the afternoon in that car. Both wishing life were fair and easy.
