A/N: Thanks to everyne who left a review on the previous chapter it means a lot to me. Here is the next one, Matt and Gabby find out what they are having.

The following week, Matt started bringing the walls up for the third room in the basement. Their original plan to keep the boys together in a room for a while had changed when they showed interest of having their own room. The rooms weren't big but for the amount of time each of them spent in them, it would be enough.

"How's it coming along?" Gabby handed him a cold one, one afternoon.

"It's coming." He put his tools on the floor and took a long pull of his beer. "Mouch agreed to come do the electricity next Saturday so I should be able to finish the most of it on Sunday."

"Don't." Gabby started only to be pulled close to him.

"Don't finish that thought. We're in no rush. Hopefully baby Casey won't be in too much of a hurry to make an appearance." He leaned down and kissed her.

"Let's hope not. I want everything to be ready before it comes."

"Are you ready to find out what we're having next week?"

"Yeah. I can't wait to start planning for the nursery and picking out names." She was filled with enthusiasm for this pregnancy.

"One thing at a time babe." He laughed, releasing her.

"I know I just never imagined in my wildest dreams that I'd be pregnant again. I loved doing the nursery the last times."

"And there will be plenty for you to do I promise. I also have an idea about how the kids can help."

"You're not going to tell me that are you?"

"Nope." He smirked. "Give me thirty minutes and I'll be done with the outer walls. Then we get to spend the rest of the week end with the kids."

"Okay." She smiled at him and kissed his lips before she went back upstairs. The kids were in the yard running around after each other.

He found her lying on the long chair, her right hand absentmindedly rubbing her belly. "Everything ok in there?" She was slightly startled by the sound of his voice.

"Baby Casey is kicking up a storm, as always."

"Got to keep mommy on her toes." He crouched down and pressed a hand next to hers, receiving a few successive kicks. "Come on bud, give mommy a little break. She has to take care of your two brothers and three sisters so you need to take it easy on her." She loved it when he spoke to their unborn child.

"Mommy's a bit tired actually." Their eyes met and she stifled a yawn.

"Why don't you go take a nap, I'll take care of the rugrats."

"Matt, you've been working in the basement."

"And you're growing another human being." He chuckles. "I'll be fine." He stood and held his hand for her to take. She eyed him a few seconds and decided not to fight him on it. The kids were in the tree house and they escaped inside for a few minutes. He settled Gabby in bed and took a spot next to her. "How are you feeling really?" He ran his fingers through her hair.

"Drained mostly but I'm sure it'll be over soon." She felt good lying down like that against him.

"Let me take care of you and the kids more, please." She always claimed that pregnancy wasn't a disease and he didn't argue on her most of the time but he could see a difference in the last week or so.

"That might not be such a bad idea." She conceded, her eyes drooping closed.

"Rest up." He whispered and kissed the top of her head before he pulled himself away slowly not to disrupt her sleeping state. She was clearly more tired that she let on because she was asleep in a second. Matt went back to the kitchen and prepared a snack for the kids, calling them all back inside and telling them to keep the volume low to let their mom sleep. He was leaning up against the counter when he got an idea. "What would you guys think if we did a special project for your brother or sister?"

"For the nursery?" Emma asked enthusiastically.

"Yeah for the nursery." Matt was glad the kids were always willing to participate in craftier projects.

"We're in." They all said a bit too loud for his taste but their excitement was contagious.

"Put everything in the sink when you're done and I'll leave mom a note so she knows where we are if she wakes up." He wrote the note while the kids got ready and they were off to the store.

It was a very basic trip to the craft store, Matt taking five identical square frames and he let the kids decide the kind of paint colour they wanted, two each to be able to put it all together.

Gabby woke up and looked at the clock realizing she had slept a good hour and a half. She threw the blanket off and headed downstairs only to find a quiet house. She found the note on the kitchen table and read it.

We went out for a small errand for baby Casey, hope you slept well

I love you

Matt

She smiled and rubbed her belly. "You have the best daddy." She spoke softly. She made herself a snack before she took a seat on the back porch. She was more than happy that they had gotten a swing because she loved relaxing in it when the rest of the house was quiet from their day to day chaos. "I can't wait to meet you." She started talking, receiving a soft kick against her hand. "I know you can't wait to come out too but you still got a little bit of waiting to do and I can't wait to know what you are." Gabby was in her own bubble, the rest of the world falling away.

Matt parked the truck and ushered everyone in the house, putting the bag in the hall closet to move later. He walked into the kitchen and noticed the note was no longer on the kitchen table so me made his way to the back door and leaned against the frame, watching Gabby in the swing on the porch.

"I know I'm being incredibly selfish by saying this because I just want you to be healthy but I wouldn't mind a little boy with your daddy's eyes. He saved me more than once and you are the best present he has ever given me and I love you and all your brothers and sisters so much. Being your mom is the most important job I'll ever have."

"That baby will be one lucky kid." Matt didn't want to startle her and she looked up at him with a smile.

"The luckiest. When did you get back?"

"A few minutes ago. The kids are in the basement."

"Are you sure nothing dangerous is waiting for them down there?" She asked as he sat next to her and pulled her into his side.

"I cleared everything up before I came up earlier, they're all safe." He kissed the top of her hair.

"So a boy huh?" He placed his hand on her belly and rubbed slow circles with his thumb.

"I know that's selfish."

"There's nothing selfish about you Gabriella Casey."

"I wish you wouldn't say that."

"Only speaking the truth. So next week is the moment of truth to know if you're right or not."

"Yeah. What about you? What do you want?"

"Either one is good." He stroked her hair absentmindedly. "Our love created it so I'm happy with one or the other." They enjoyed some more quiet time until Luis came bursting their bubble.

"Mom, I'm hungry."

"In a minute bud, we'll be right in." Matt stood and helped Gabby to her feet. Luis was satisfied with the answer and he bounced back inside.

"Let's get this show on the road before the hyenas come looking for scraps." Matt guided her towards the kitchen, both hands on her waist and they started dinner to continue the rest of the chaos of bedtime.

One week later

Gabby sat in the waiting room, her feet giving a light, constant tap against the floor. "Stop it baby, it won't make things move faster." He placed a steadying hand on her leg.

"I really wish it did, my bladder is about to explode." She said impatiently.

"Soon, try to relax." He wrapped his arm around her shoulder and soon enough, a nurse came out of the exam room.

"Mrs Casey." She smiled at her and patted the exam table. "I'll take all of the measurements and then the radiologist will come to make sure everything is okay."

"Thank you." She sucked in a breath as she squirted the cold gel on her belly and the steady, rapid heartbeat of their baby filled the room. It took abut five minutes to be done with the measurements and the tech left the room, leaving them alone to wait.

"What do you think it is?" The tech had left the screen on and a picture of the baby in it's last position was left on the screen.

"It's hard to tell." She kept looking at the image. "When I was pregnant with Luis and Philippe, it was clear as day that they were boys, now, I'm really not sure."

"Maybe the radiologist will be able to see something we don't."

"Maybe." They both looked at the door when it opened. "I understand this is your third pregnancy."

"My third, our first." She smiled at Matt.

"Alright, let's see what we have." He made sure that the measurements were correct and then he moved the wand around closer to the lower limbs of the baby. After five minutes of trying, there was no way to tell. "It looks like baby Casey doesn't want to show what it is." Matt could see the disappointment in Gabby's eyes and he kissed her temple.

"It'll be a surprise then." He whispered in her ear.

"When you put it that way." She giggled.

"I'll print you a few copies."

"I know it's a lot to ask but is it possible about ten? We have a big family."

"Not a problem, I'll be right back." He wiped the gel off and let her get dressed properly again, returning abut five minutes later. Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy and congratulations."

"Thank you." They bth said and Matt guided her out, Gabby making a b-line for the bathroom, her bladder just about to give out."

They returned home and placed one of the pictures on the fridge. Christie and Kelly were due to bring the kids back home soon and they were going to eat as a family. It was chaotic to say the least but the adults navigated around the kids, Violet giving them a hand and the finally sat down to eat.

"So tell me, am I having a little niece or a little nephew?"

"Baby Casey refuses to show itself."

"I guess you'll have to wait." Kelly laughed. Christie had been giddy since finding out about the pregnancy and she couldn't wait to spoil that baby. "You'll have plenty of time to spoil him or her when it's born babe."

"Well It's not fair."

"It's loved already that's for sure." Gabby ran a loving hand over her belly and they spent the rest f the evening enjoying time as a family.
