(A/N) There is a Princess Bride reference. Good luck finding it. Find it and you can pick the next segment of the Invasion, Kage, Stadium, or Shukaku.

Tenten frowned as Tamako screamed, then shouted her surrender and was carted away. That had been brutal. That was almost her entire leg, gone because someone didn't stop Gaara.

"I-I don't want to go up against him," Fuji murmured, shaken.

"You wouldn't have to unless both of you made it to the finals," Tenten whispered back, taking a physical step back as Gaara started laughing maniacally, ignoring Genma's attempts to get him off the field.

"Are those...feathers?" Fuji asked, narrowing their eyes.

"Not feathers, a genjutsu," Tenten replied, making the proper sign and dispelling the jutsu. "It's a sleeping genjutsu, look."

"This isn't good," Fuji agreed, frowning and dispelling the jutsu as well.

"We need to check the rest of Konoha," Tenten said quickly, wincing as massive booms echoed from the direction of the walls. "People'll be evacuating, but we need to be fast."

Fuji dodged a stray kunai. "The others'll be fine, let's go."

"Have fun storming the castle!" Kamisori shouted after them.

They jumped up onto the roof of the stadium, then down into Konoha general, quickly joined by Neji and Lee, who'd come with them.

"Yosh! We shall drive out these invaders!" Lee shouted, jumping forward to dynamic entry someone in the face. Tenten would've pitied them if she wasn't busy being annoyed that the chuunin exams were interrupted. And the village was being invaded. That too.

"On the plus side," she commented to Fuji. "We have the room to test some of those bigger kabooms now. And the people to practice on."

They stared at her for a moment. "Tenten, you are a frickin genius. Let's ditch the boys and find somewhere dense on the enemy nin."

Tenten preened for a moment, waiting for an opportune moment when both boys were distracted, and sprinting for the outer wall where she could see them pouring in from a giant hole in the equally massive wall.

They arrived there in time to see some Kiri nin pull down another section of the wall.

"Is there any way to stopper up this wall? So more people can't get in?" Tenten asked, surveying the wall critically.

"I don't have any skill to do so," Fuji replied, ducking under a sloppily thrown kunai. "So probably not."

"A pity," Tenten replied. "Oh well, time to get some explosives out."

Fuji grinned back at her, pulling out a set of their own tags. "Let's go!"

Tenten cackled and leaped at the encroaching enemy nin, who immediately attempted to either slice her into many pieces, or make her a kunai riddled corpse. Both of which she dodged handily.

She slapped a tag down on someone, darting back out of range and backflipping over another enemy before lighting up the tag. It and the man blew up fabulously, and Tenten clapped her hands in utter glee. This was fun!

"Nice!" Fuji shouted, an explosion going off behind them. "I feel sorry for those who have to clean this up."

"Gai'll probably set our team on it," Tenten called back, setting another explosion tag. "So I don't!"

"Understandable, have a nice day," Fuji replied, laughing.

Hirata shuddered as another person blew up from being too close to the blast radius of the tag either Fuji or Tenten had set. At this point, it didn't matter anymore, since it was equally destructive. She layered another genjutsu, this one not a seal, over the area the two were in, escorting civilians away as fast as was humanly possible for them. The area they were in had already been evacuated when they got there luckily, so Hirata was helping the Konoha chuunin escort everyone near their area away as fast as possible.

She let a chuunin take the parent of the child she was carrying, and shunshined after him to the shelters. Dropping the kid off with his parents, she shunshined right back out to the area to make sure her genjutsu hadn't broken.

"The civilians are clear from this district!" An ANBU shouted, shunshining in briefly to note that before giving a salute and disappearing again.

"What now?" Hirata asked one of the chuunin. "Do we move to another area?"

"Most of us will," she agreed. "I'm staying here to help contain the breach, although your friends appear to have it well in hand."

Hirata stoutly refused to look back at where Fuji and Tenten were ripping apart the Kiri and Suna nin with far too many explosions and far too much glee about it. She could only hope it wouldn't haunt them too much later. For now she was somewhat happy for them and their joy. Somewhat. She also pitied the poor bastards who got to face two genin down who promptly started blowing things up left and right.

"If neither of them is promoted I'm eating my flack jacket," the chuunin commented, shaking her head. "I'm suggesting Gai's team for the cleanup though."

"Be my guest," Hirata sighed. "On the plus side it looks like no one is getting out. On the downside, no one is getting out of there alive."

"And we're not getting out of here untraumatized," the chuunin joked.

"Like we weren't already," Hirata agreed, giving the chuunin a fist bump.

"Oh no there's two of them," another chuunin said, backing away slowly. "The gen Z are taking over."

"He says as he's also gen Z," the chuunin said, snorting. "I like you kid, the name's Omi."

"Hirata," she replied, nodding to the chuunin. "What's next?"

"Stage two," Omi said somewhat cryptically, grinning. "We go all out on the invaders. Release the ANBU and the jounin."

Umi noticed the change immediately, even hidden in the medical tent tending to injured civilians. The medics around her that had been guarding the entrance stopped, leaving to tend to other patients.

"What's going on?" She asked a middle-aged chuunin medic.

"They released the ANBU and jounin," she replied, shaking her head. "We'll be fine. It means the civilians have all been evacuated."

"It's stage two in the invasion plans," another medic, older than the first, added. "Evacuate the civilians is stage two technically. But we generally refer to it as stage one since stage one is just kill anything. If we can't, evacuate the civilians is the first step."

"Then we release the jounin and ANBU," a third added, patting a civilian on the shoulder as they stood up, testing a previously broken ankle. "It's fearsome to watch. The chuunin do most of the evacuation, then the ANBU and Jounin sweep in for the clean up."

"Interesting," Umi said, peeking out the front flap of the tent, spotting Yunikon jumping in to save a pinned down ANBU. "That's pretty cool."

"Yep."

Figuring those in the stadium didn't need anymore help, Hoshiko had grabbed the three nearest genin, Hinata, Ino, and Choji apparently, and herded them off to help with evacuation.

"Be wary in stage two," one of the chuunin warned them. "That's when the Jounin and ANBU come out to play. Be careful not to get caught in the collateral."

Hoshiko eyed the genin, definitely not skilled enough to survive in the bloodbath, plus she didn't need them seeing it, and handed them off to the chuunin to put in one of the hideouts. Since they were good children they went without protest.

Hoshiko spotted a red-tailed hawk, a common Konoha messenger bird, and suddenly the streets around her were swarming with ANBU. She gripped her flute tighter, found some enemies, and started playing, paralyzing them while ANBU swooped in to finish the job. They nodded to her, and she moved on.

She spotted Yunikon moving around and demolishing anyone he came across, Umi in the medical tents, Tenten and Fuji having an inordinate amount of fun blowing anyone up they could get their hands on, and Hirata chatting cheerfully with a chuunin while people died around them.

This was handled, and it'd be over in an instant. That was good.
