There is a character referenced, she is not named, but she belongs to KikiJuantia and she can't be used without her permission. The next chapter should be up within a few days, as that one is already done. Enjoy!
"I don't get it," Rachel commented, joining Clint on the couch as he watched a sports game. She wasn't talking about the game on TV that she had no interest in watching, it had everything to do with her brother and the potential that he is clearly wasting away.
"Get what?" He asked, turning to look at her, now that game was on commercial break. "It's summer break, what else do you want of me?" He asked her, he really just wanted to be chilling and not doing a million things like his sister thought he should be doing.
"You go to a school known for the music ability and yet you have no interest in any of it," she commented. "I know from personal experience that you have a lovely voice, Clinton. Use it," she told him, being sincere.
"You ever think that music isn't my passion like yours?" He asked back, in a grumpy mood, done with the whole conversation, it just happened to be hard to really tune her out, much easier to hear her out and agree to think about things.
"Okay," she said slowly, biting her lip. "You like sports. You watch them," she said pointing to the TV for an example. "You play ball in the street."
"Street ball, Rach," he chuckled.
"See!" She exclaimed. "Join one."
"I don't know," he sighed, running a hand through his hair, which was in a desperate need of cutting.
"What do you want to do with your life, Clint?" She asked, wanting to help him out. Her dreams were planned since she was little and has been working towards them ever since. She wanted her brother to do the same, to be the very best in any profession he chose.
"I don't know," he sighed, shrugging. "My life isn't laid out like yours is, Rachel. I don't want Broadway, I want to be me," he answered her.
"Then why don't you do the things you like while you figure it out? Enjoy your time. I don't want you to look back and see that you wasted the opportunities that were placed before you. Try out for glee club, try out for a sports team. Do something that makes you uncomfortable. You might just surprise yourself and find exactly what you didn't know you were looking for," she commented, getting up, having nothing else to say to her brother.
"Thanks for the advice and I guess the least I can do is think about it, over summer break," he shrugged, turning his attention back to the sports game. He planned on telling he would think about it to get her to leave, but it really wouldn't hurt to think about doing them as he wanted to figure his future out before it was too late to do so.
With a smile, she picked Beth up from the floor and headed up to her bedroom to get ready for the day out with friends.
With summer being in full swing in Lima, it also meant that Puck's pool cleaning business was in full swing, the cougars not so subtly hinting at him to come inside for other activities. They suggested Puck blow off Rachel while she was right there giving Puck a hand to help him finish faster so she could enjoy some of the day with her boyfriend. She didn't like it one bit, more often than not, it made her feel self conscious.
It was something Puck found ridiculous. Bored housewives had nothing on Rachel and he told her as much in front of every housewife that voiced otherwise. Not a single one of them could compare to Rachel. He thought about quitting his pool cleaning business more than once, wanting to save Rachel from feeling small and like she meant nothing to him when that couldn't even be close to the truth. Rachel is bigger than the whole town of Lima, and ever since they were kids, she easily became his world.
Rachel wouldn't let him give up the one thing that was his, something that helped him earn an honest living. She hated how his reputation still followed behind him, hated the housewives that thought it was okay for him to cheat on his girlfriend because their husbands couldn't satisfy them. Above all of that, she trusted Noah. Knew without a doubt he would never cheat on her, not after all the breaking up and getting back together they had done in the past when she didn't live in Lima full time. Did she like her boyfriend dealing with housewives he already had sex with? No. Did she trust him? With all of her heart.
"Rach you ready to go?" Puck asked, entering her bedroom, swooping Beth up into his arms, kissing her little chubby cheeks.
"Are you certain your mom is fine with watching her for the night? I don't want to put her out," Rachel quickly got out, nervously biting her bottom lip, playing with the hem of her shirt.
"Rach, baby, she is the one that suggested it," he confirmed, pulling her into a hug, Beth between them. "Beth will remain a part of her life as long as we are together and I don't see us ending anytime soon. She wants to be apart of Beth's life. Do you see that changing at any point?" He questioned her.
"No," she told him without hesitation. "I will make sure Beth stays apart of her life and yours, with whatever happens between us, not that I think anything is going to happen per se, but we can't control things that might or might not happen," she quickly rambled not wanting him to think that she thought at some point she was thinking they would break up or even thinking about marriage.
"I know," he chuckled, kissing her forehead, Beth repeating the action giving her big sister a big wet kiss, easily cutting any and all tension from the room. "Now let's go before Ma comes here looking for the little one," he chuckled, letting her go, taking Beth and the bag waiting to be taken out by Rachel's bedroom door.
Rachel quickly checked her appearance, and stuffed what little she would need in her pockets on her shorts and headed down the stairs after her boyfriend. She let her brother know she was heading out, not that he really heard her as the only noise to come from him was a groan and she was sure that was over the play on TV.
With a longer goodbye to Beth than either teen would like to admit to, they headed off to meet up with the rest of the glee club. They were going to have a bonfire to bid Matt a farewell. Leaving his friends behind for the summer would be tough but he had to do what was right and that was going home to his parents, to spend time with his parents before senior year started up. He didn't have a choice in the matter and even if he did, he would still be going back to visit with his parents.
"I will miss you, Rachel," he told her a sadness creeping into his voice. "But I will be back in two and a half months," he chuckled.
"You best," she warned, giving him a hug. "You will be missed during your trip home, Matthew."
"Enough sappy crap, let's party," Santana screamed, turning the stereo up, swinging her hips to the beat of the pop song being played.
With a laugh from Rachel and a groan from Puck, he let her drag him closer to where the fire was burning to dance, his hands resting on her hips.
With the inky black sky glittering with stars, the only light they were given came from the fire burning bright, laughter could be heard over the music playing, Rachel finding herself singing along to the song, dragging Matt up to sing with her.
"Dude, what are you staring at?" Mike asked, following his friends line of sight. To him it didn't make much sense to have his friend watching a small group of people when his girlfriend wasn't among them.
"That guy, he happens to be my cousin's boyfriend, who invited him?" Puck questioned, his jaw tightening, glaring at the guy in question.
"He showed up with Blaine," Mike shrugged. "Take it easy, it's not like he is cheating on your cousin," Mike tried.
"It's the principle of the fact," Puck ground out. "He doesn't need to be all over those girls when he is dating my cousin."
"Hypocrite much?" Mike chuckled.
"I never once flirted or lead anyone on when I dated Rachel during the summer months she stayed here or now. We were broken up during the school year, not my choice either," he grumbled out. "Being single and dating are two very different things and I respect Rachel not to be like that," he motioned, to the guy now dancing with a couple girls he had previously been flirting with.
"I respect you too," Rachel giggled, wrapping her arms around his waist from behind. "What are you boys talking about?"
"Nothing much," Mike shrugged, walking off to catch up with Matt before the night ended.
"Is that so?" She questioned, moving to stand in front of her boyfriend.
"Yep," he smirked, pressing his lips against hers, distracting her from asking anymore questions.
Later in the night when it was in the very wee hours of the morning the party slowly winding down somewhat Rachel, Santana, Brittany and Kurt giggling as they gossiped sitting on some logs that Puck found the opportunity he was looking for all night.
"What's with your friend?" He asked gruffly, standing next to Blaine. Seeing the dude give him a rather confused look, he expanded on the friend in question. "The one surrounded by chicks?"
"He fought with his girlfriend and they broke up," Blaine shrugged. "Give it a few days and they will work things out," he shrugged. "Why do you ask?"
"Just curious," Puck shrugged, not wanting to let Blaine in on the fact that the guys ex just so happened to be his cousin. Not that he was ashamed of his family, not everyone needed to know his personal shit.
Any lingering questions Blaine might of had, went unknown when they turned in the direction of the shriek from Puck's tiny girlfriend. He wasted no time in running over to her, asking what was wrong, looking her over to see if he could find what was wrong.
"A bug," she shrugged, burying her flushed face into his chest. He chuckled lightly, pulling her closer. He laughed harder feeling her mumble something incoherent into his chest.
Rachel stood in the kitchen of her boyfriend's house, listening to Dani rattle on about her day with Beth and all the fun things they did.
"Alright munchkin, go get ready and I'll drop ya off at Jenny's house," Puck mused, walking into the kitchen, sending his sister off. "Ma's in the process of bathing her," he gave Rachel as to why he didn't have Beth. "Hungry?" He questioned, pulling the fridge door open.
"Noah, we just ate breakfast not even 15 minutes ago," she admonished, shaking her head.
"So?" He questioned, pulling out what looked to be leftovers. Rolling her eyes, she went to the cupboard.
"I could use a cup of tea," she told him, pulling a box down and grabbing a tea bag, before heating some water up.
They were sitting at the table, Puck now adding a cup of coffee to his second breakfast of the day, Rachel slowly sipping on her cup of tea when Roma entered the kitchen with a clean Beth, handing her over to Rachel.
"She was an angel the whole time," Roma assured Rachel, turning her attention to her son. "I work late tonight, you will need to pick your sister up at 5, please feed her, Noah," she begged her son.
"I wouldn't let her starve," Puck huffed, annoyed his mom thought so little of him.
"Good," she commented, rushing to her room to get ready for work.
"What do you want to do today?" Puck asked, finishing his food.
"Beth might like the petting zoo," she suggested, looking at her little sister. "Would you like that Beth?"
Puck stole her from Rachel, tossing her in the air, making her laugh. "And after we can get lunch and figure out the rest of the day."
"Is food all that is on your mind?" Rachel asked, rinsing her cup out.
"Nah," he smirked, sending her a wink. She rolled her eyes, taking her sister from him, not letting him finish.
Their day consisted of spending time at the Zoo, staying in front of each enclosure until Beth was ready to move. The tiger and the snow leopard were some of her favorites to look at, spending extra time watching them. She even picked out a stuffed lion to take home from the gift shop. They had lunch at the zoo, before taking off. With a sleeping Beth they headed to Rachel's house to waste away the remaining hours they had left together before he needed to pick his sister up for the night.
