Chapter 14: Fire Temple Shenanigans

"Hmm, wonder why I was summoned here?"

A question posed by Naruto as he stood in the land of the Toads. He'd felt the summoning tingle the moment he went to greet Shizuka's people. Apparently, someone here needed him more. Naruto coughed though due to the smoke cloud surrounding him.

"Why is there smoke every time on summonings?"

"Conceals us. Maybe, I don't know."

"Ero-Sennin?"

"Yep, I got called too. Good thing I wasn't in the shower yet," said Jiraiya as Naruto turned to the man.

"Conceals us? From what? You'd think we'd just appear. There's no reason for this stupid smoke." Naruto coughed again as the smoke dissipated finally. And there, Naruto saw who'd summoned him and Jiraiya. It was Fukasaku who stood next to his wife, Shima. The elder toads of Mount Myoboku. "Ohayo Gama-jiji. Gama-baachan!"

WHACK

"Mind yer manners tadpole! Sama! Not grandma!" shouted Shima, grandma toad, as she whacked Naruto repeatedly with a rolling pin.

"Ow! Ow! Ow!" shouted Naruto with each hit before he began to run away. It was a sight to see the big and bad Jonin Jinchuriki of the Kyubi run from a toad no taller than his shin. Granted that toad could kick his and Jiraiya's butt with no problems. However, the average person wouldn't know such a thing and it was funny without this knowledge. "It's a term of endearment. It's not meant to call you old like I do to Tsunade-baachan. I figured you'd-Ow! That hurts!"

"He never learns, does he?" questioned Jiraiya watching his student and the female toad.

"It would seem not. Keeps Ma young at least," said Fukasaku, grandpa toad, as he smiled. Turning to Jiraiya, Pa gave him a serious look. Jiraiya noticed it and realized the toad was ready to get on with it. "Are you sure the boy is ready to hear this? What if he reacts negatively?"

"Ah, I don't think he will. Plus, we can smack him around if we have to. There's no need to delay this any longer in my eyes," said Jiraiya adopting the same look as Fukasaku. Jiraiya let out a breath and nodded to reaffirm his belief. "It is time. He needs to know about Minato. Everything about Minato."

"What are you hoping to accomplish by telling him now rather than later as you planned?" questioned Fukasaku turning to see Naruto calming Shima down. Fukasaku couldn't hear what was being said but, Shima wasn't approaching him anymore. She still held her rolling pin threateningly though. "I guess you have a reason considering you asked us to summon you both this morning. So, why now Jiraiya-chan?"

"Refocus him. He's seemed distracted lately. The Sasori thing and his failure to bring his teammate back probably have a lot to do with it," said Jiraiya with a grimace. Nearly dying and failing to make good on your promise a second time would do that. Naruto was still Naruto but, anyone who really knew him could see that something was off. "He hasn't progressed much since then compared to during our trip. It's like he's sulking and that's not allowed. Kid's my pupil, he can't be embarrassing me." continued Jiraiya turning to his student. Shima's rolling pin was no longer threatening him as Jiraiya smiled. "I aim to correct that with this. Maybe knowing who his dad is can get him out of this funk. Motivate him to go harder."

Fukasaku nodded at the explanation as he watched Naruto walk back to them. Shima sat atop his head with literal hearts spawning around her. What did Naruto say to win her over like that? Pa would have to figure out because he hadn't seen her like this happy since their honeymoon. His wife was glowing and smiling extra hard.

"Teach me your ways tadpole. Teach me your ways." thought Fukasaku looking at Naruto. Naruto felt Fukasaku's stare and turned his eyes to see the elder toad smiling at him. Naruto smiled back as Fukasaku gestured to Jiraiya. "Naruto-chan, Jiraiya-chan has something he wants you to know."

"That Namikaze Minato is my father?"

"It's something that I've wanted you to know for a while. Since I practically met you," said Jiraiya putting a hand to his student's shoulder. Jiraiya closed his eyes and let out a sigh. It was time he knew. "Sensei forbade me from telling you that the Fourth Hokage is-wait what? What did you just say?"

Jiraiya finally heard what Naruto said. He was so casual with his speaking that it really didn't even register at first. Fukasaku and Shima were both shocked as Naruto sighed.

"The Kyubi's Jinchuriki. Enhanced hearing. I heard you say it just now," said Naruto getting Jiraiya to face fall at forgetting that. Naruto rarely used the Kyubi around him so it wasn't that farfetched it'd slip his mind. "I've known about it since I came back, to be honest. The first night back, I broke into the archive room and found out about my mom. Baa-chan caught me and told me what she knew about her. There is some punishment she's yet to give me now that I think about it." continued Naruto getting Jiraiya to look at him curiously. He'd broken into the archive room? The kid had balls. "Finding out who my dad was wasn't so hard after that. Ka-chan has red hair and violet eyes so I must have gotten my hair and eyes from pops. And who else has golden hair and blue eyes like this in Konoha's history? I'm not a Yamanaka so I just assumed. Guess I was right, huh?"

"Yeah, you were right. Why didn't you ever say anything?"

"I didn't find it necessary to say something. Why, was I supposed to?"

"Yeah, the guy put your friend in there," said Jiraiya poking Naruto in his stomach. Naruto heard Kurama correct Jiraiya's 'friend' comment as he disregarded the bijuu to keep listening to his sensei. "You need to react in some way kid. Either happy you're a Kage's kid or angry that your dad put such a burden on you. Hell, even both. Something, anything, so I know you're not broken."

"I'm not broken Ero-Sennin. It's that, I understand," said Naruto scooping Shima off his head. Naruto smiled at the elder toad as he put her down. Naruto then turned his view up to the sun as he continued speaking. "I've become well versed in seals. And I know about the Bijuu, mine particularly. Tou-chan did what was best for Konoha and even if I were to punch him should I ever meet him, I understand why he did what he did. And because of that, I can't be mad."

Jiraiya stood speechless at his student's words as Naruto looked at him. Well, not look since his eyes were closed. But, a smile was on Naruto's face as he kept talking.

"I'm okay, I promise. With Tou-chan. I like how my life is playing out with Kurama in here. It's been pretty good all things considered," said Naruto as his smile widened. He had Shizuka, he was a Jonin, and he could tell he was getting closer and closer to achieving his goals. It had been hard but, Naruto was living well now. He wouldn't change how things had turned out if he could. "I do have a problem with Hokage-jiji. Wish he didn't think me so fragile. He could have told me about my parents." continued Naruto with a shake of his head. Maybe he would have blabbed it to everyone and made himself a target. He'd have at least liked having the option. "And I also have a problem with you."

"Me? What? What did I do?" Naruto's eyes bled red after he opened them.

Jiraiya could feel Naruto's chakra intensifying as Jiraiya noticed the elder toads were gone. Kyubi Naruto was a predator and animal instincts had the toads realize they need not be near him. Jiraiya's instincts did too only he was too slow in leaving.

"I don't have a problem with wanting to help me out of my funk or telling me about my father. That's all fine Ero-Sennin," said Naruto as his initial jinchuriki cloak blazed around him and got Jiriaya to tense up. "No, I have a problem with you blocking again. Shizuka wasn't the only one mad about earlier." continued Naruto getting Jiraiya's eyes to widen. He'd forgotten he'd done that. And it would have happened either way. Even if the Nadeshiko kunoichi hadn't arrived, this toad summoning thing would have blocked him equally as bad. "That is my problem with you. And luckily, I can show you how much I haven't progressed. By kicking your ass all across this beautiful land."

"I keep blocking my student. I am not worthy to be his sensei. And I deserve his ire." thought Jiraiya before dodging a snapping kick from his student. He wasn't going to take it lying down though. He actually did want to see his student's progression. "Would a sorry get you to forgive me?" A roar was Jiraiya's answer as he nodded his head. "Of course it wouldn't. Well, bring it on gaki! You'll have to earn this!"

Jiraiya would regret saying that very soon.

(Konoha - Sometime Later)

"Oh, Tsunade-hime. Still as beautiful as I remember."

"Thank you Daimyo-sama. A pleasure as always to see you. What brings about this visit to Konoha?"

"Ah, right to business I see. Signs of a good leader," said the Daimyo getting a small smile from Tsunade. The effeminate man sat fanning himself as he smiled as well. "I'd love to get straight to business but, my mind is elsewhere at the moment. I find myself always distracted by the beauty and serenity of Konoha. This village is always so nice to come to."

"Konoha is beautiful, always has been. I was blind to that for some time but, a certain shinobi got me to remember," said Tsunade thinking of Naruto.

She was so happy to promote him yesterday. He'd earned it certainly. And she could see him taking her place in the next five years. But, she had the highest authority in the Land of Fire before her. A fact he helped her remember.

"It's odd, is it not? How could a shinobi village look so peaceful?" asked the Daimyo with a small smile. "It feels more like one of the civilian villages I passed on the way here. Not much conflict to be found."

"Well sometimes things can get rowdy around here," said Tsunade before perking up. The Daimyo took notice and wondered if something was wrong. Before he could ask, a ragged and disheveled Jiraiya came flying into the room via the open window. His clothes were tattered, his hair was in disarray, and one of his sandals were missing. "I thought he said he'd be taking Naruto to Mount Myoboku this morning? For something super secret that would take a while. What's he doing here already?"

"Daimyo-sama. Hime. Pardon the interruption. Tsunade, I need you to tell Naruto to-"

"She won't save you! Dainamikku Entori! (Dynamic Entry)!" shouted Naruto flying into the office with a dropkick.

"HA! You won't get me with something so simple," said Jiraiya swatting Naruto aside. Jiraiya's eyes widened when Naruto dispelled in a poof of smoke. "Oh, you can't be-"

"YOSH!" exclaimed the real Naruto flying in after his clone. Naruto cut Jiraiya off with his foot tagging the man's face. Jiraiya went sailing out the window as Naruto grinned. Naruto's appearance was equally as raggedy as Jiraiya's as he noticed the extra person in the office. "Daimyo-sama. Baachan. Pardon the interruption. If you'll excuse me."

Naruto sped after Jiraiya as the Daimyo and Tsunade were intrigued at the intrusion. So intrigued that the Daimyo began fanning himself at an idea. An idea that he hoped Tsunade would be game too.

"So, this is the Naruto my wife speaks so highly of. And that was Jiraiya of the Sannin, was it not?" questioned the Daiymo getting a nod from Tsunade. "I think I'd like to see that match if possible. But I presume we, mainly I, aren't fast enough to catch them to watch."

"No need for either of us to chase them. For we have this," said Tsunade bringing out Hiruzen's crystal ball. Tsunade channeled a bit of chakra as the Daiymo could see Naruto and Jiraiya within it. The Daimyo smiled as Tsunade looked at the ball as well. "Let us see how student and master are doing, shall we?"

"Many thank yous Hime. Many thank yous."

The Kage and Daiymo both saw Jiraiya lead Naruto to a nearby training ground.

"Gaki, calm down already! It was an accident. You can't still be mad?" questioned Jiraiya dodging a punch that tore a tree in half. Even without a tail, Kyubi Naruto was dangerous. Jiraiya retaliated with a jump kick that Naruto ducked. "I hate that damn Ryuka."

"Kami Oroshi (Godly Wind)," said Naruto shooting his hands forward in his dodge. Jiraiya took the vortex and went sailing backward through several trees. A ram seal later and Naruto took a deep breath. "Gamayudan (Toad Oil Bullet)"

Naruto exhaled a pressurized stream of toad oil from his mouth. The oil was shot with enough force that it tore through several trees trying to tag Jiraiya. Jiraiya dodged it by the skin of his teeth as he couldn't help but be amazed.

"Okay, the brat is dangerous. He gives me a run for my money when using the Kyubi." thought Jiraiya before ducking. Naruto was upon him again and sent a kick right over his head. The kick tore through another tree as Jiraiya smirked. "This power is incredible. I'd kick his ass all over Konoha if I used Sage Mode. But, I don't need it. I'll beat him without it."

"Not scared, are you sensei?" questioned Naruto engaging the white-haired man in a blazing fast sequence of Taijutsu. Blocks and dodges were numerous but now and then Naruto would catch Jiraiya or Jiraiya would catch Naruto. Naruto winning more of the exchanges thanks to his Ryuka's hacks. "I'll kick your ass if this is all you got."

"You know it's not all I got kiddo. But, I guess I didn't teach you well enough," said Jiraiya putting his sandal in Naruto's sternum. He only had one left and he made sure to make it count. He kicked his student hard as he gave him some advice. "You don't talk trash unless you're winning."

"I am winning," said Naruto taking the strong kick before gripping Jiraiya's ankle tightly.

"Wow, he stood up to that. This is going to hurt."

Jiraiya was pulled by his leg into a shoulder check from Naruto. The blow was powerful enough to knock Jiraiya away but, Naruto still held his leg. He wasn't going anywhere except into another shoulder check. A third shoulder check and Jiraiya had had enough.

"Hari Jizo (Needle Jizo)"

Naruto reared Jiraiya in for another shoulder check only to stab himself on countless needles. Grunting at the pain, Naruto let Jiraiya's leg go which he dropped down before rocketing back up to his student's chin. Naruto didn't withstand this kick as he flew into the air. Jiraiya fell forward and placed his hands on the ground as he sat right beneath his airborne student.

"Hari Jigoku (Needle Hell)" said Jiraiya shooting an incalculable number of hair needles at Naruto.

"Stupid hair." thought Naruto getting stabbed even more by the flying projectiles of hair. Naruto landed back in front of Jiraiya looking like a pincushion with an annoyed look in his red eyes. "Sensei is still this strong and able to fight. He really is incredible."

"Gaki has grown well. A fine shinobi. He might be better than Minato was at this age." thought Jiraiya watching Naruto's feral features become more prominent. His whisker marks deepened even more while his canines grew more pronounced. One chakra burst sent all the needles right out of his skin. "It's like I haven't even touched him this whole time. Accelerated healing is a cheap trick too."

"Thank you, Kurama."

"You're not welcome."

"Figured I wasn't." thought Naruto in reply before he clapped his hands. Taking his left hand and pinching the palm of his right with it, Naruto pulled out an adamantine chain like he was unraveling a rope. "Giddy up Ero-Sennin."

"I've always hated those damn chains," said Jiraiya retreating as Naruto threw the chain.

Naruto watched the Sannin jump back to avoid his chain as it stabbed into the ground. The chain sat several feet in front of Jiraiya as the Sannin realized he needed to keep moving. The chain came shooting out exactly where he stood and began pursuing him again. Rather than one chain, five separate chains came out as Jiraiya groaned in annoyance. Jiraiya flashed through two hand seals in his dodging as Naruto frowned.

"Stupid swamp." thought Naruto feeling himself sinking.

"Doton: Yomi Numa (Earth Style: Swamp of the Underworld)," said Jiraiya creating a swamp beneath his stagnant student. He was still fleeing those pestering chains that were steadily gaining on him. However, he had a plan. "This is the climax!"

"Bring it on sensei!" shouted Naruto drawing a palm up the moment he saw Jiraiya heading toward him. Jiraiya formed a Rasengan as Naruto formed a Kyubi-influenced one of his own. Naruto slapped a palm atop the swamp that helped him escape it with a leap of exertion. The Jinchuriki approached his sensei and grew confused. "No way he thinks he'll beat me in this Rasengan battle. Especially when I'm like this."

"You're right. But I don't have to." thought Jiraiya in reply with a smile as Naruto frowned again.

"Stupid clone." thought Naruto watching Jiraiya poof away in smoke.

Naruto was flying alone now in the air. In the air straight into his chains that had been chasing Jiraiya. Naruto was still in control of the chains thankfully and sent them up in the air to not take the sharp end to the face. He collided with the chain though and was sent to the Earth in a heap.

Crashlanding, Naruto rolled into a stance with his hands already in the tiger seal. Naruto could see Jiraiya with his own hands in the tiger seal as he grinned.

"Katon: Endan (Fire Style: Flame Bullet)"

Student and teacher launched enormous breaths of fire at one another. It wasn't even a question of who was going to win. Naruto's fire was redder and more potent than Jiraiya's thanks to the Kyubi's power. The two jutsu met equally between them but, Naruto's fire was clearly pushing Jiraiya's back. Naruto blasted Jiraiya only to panic when his air sphere was breached a second later.

"Heads up kiddo!" shouted Jiraiya next to Naruto. Naruto hadn't realized he was also a clone. He'd been duped again as Jiraiya led with a Rasengan. A Rasengan that simply vanished in thin air. "Oh, you're not serious. You perfected that jutsu?!"

"Phew, yeah. I'm glad teme didn't put that in the bingo book," said Naruto as his sword sat in his hands. His blade took Jiraiya's Rasengan right where his Hiraishin seal laid. "Hiraishin: Dorai."

The golden blade of Naruto's sword glowed after absorbing Jiraiya's Rasengan. Naruto channeled his chakra as the glow disappeared meaning the Rasengan had been moved. Jiraiya saw his mud swamp belch and spew mud into the air like a geyser. Naruto must have placed the exit seal over there when he jumped out earlier. His pupil was getting seriously good.

"You really have come along as a shinobi kid. I'm almost a little proud," said Jiraiya jumping backward when Naruto swung his sword.

"Almost?" questioned Naruto wondering what he had to do. He knew he'd have to decisively defeat Jiraiya in a fight but with the way this spar was going, Naruto would do that soon. "I'm going to win. He knows this, right?" A growing shadow beneath the Jinchuriki got Naruto to suck his teeth. "Stupid summoning."

"Kuchiyose: Yatai Kuzushi (Summoning: Food Cart Destroyer)"

A Gamabunta sized purple toad came crashing to the Earth thunderously atop Naruto. Jiraiya smiled as the ground rumbled mightily. The toad cratered the ground with Naruto's body right underneath it. So much so that Jiraiya hoped he didn't actually hurt his student.

"Good under there kid?"

"No, my everything hurts. I think my sword is cutting me," muffled out Naruto from beneath the giant toad. Jiraiya nodded realizing his student was fine. Talking meant you were okay. "I thought you said no summonings during spars since we didn't want to pit the toads against us?"

"You went Kyubi without knocking me on my ass kid. I don't count that pervert jutsu thing. You broke the rules a long time ago so, I returned the favor."

"Oi! That jutsu is amazing and you know it. I'm counting that knockdown forever and there's nothing you can say to change my mind," said Naruto finally appearing as the toad dispelled. Naruto's sword was indeed pressed against his side as he poofed it away into a storage seal. Helped he could make those with his chakra since that was how he pulled it out against Jiraiya. His wounds were healing slowly but, Naruto couldn't move still. "My body actually hurts. Seriously, it really hurts. Toads are heavy."

"Yes, yes they are. You finally calm?"

"A little bit. I want to kick your ass but, my body won't respond to me. I might be paralyzed," said Naruto getting Jiraiya to snort. Jiraiya popped a squat next to Naruto as the Jinchuriki continued. "No seriously, I think I'm paralyzed Ero-Sennin."

"Good, you deserve it for trying to knock my block off," said Jiraiya settling down next to his student. Both student and master looked horrendous from the fight but they had smiles on their faces. "You'd make your dad proud kid. Very proud."

"You think so?"

"I know so. Now get up. You lost so you pay for breakfast."

"It's nearly noon. We've been fighting for almost four hours. Most of that on Mount Myoboku or did you forget?"

"Winners don't have to remember anything besides winning kid. The rest is irrelevant. Write that down," said Jiraiya standing up and wiping himself off. He began walking back toward food. "Plus, we can still get breakfast after the morning. And I want my steak and eggs. Maybe two steaks. So get your flattened ass up and get a move on. I'm hungry."

"Fine, fine. I'm right behind you," said Naruto wiggling his fingers and toes. Well, he wasn't paralyzed at least. Then Naruto realized something. "You still have my damn wallet Ero-Sennin!" The empty toad wallet landed on Naruto's face as he grimaced. Of course, he was broke after yesterday's party. "Glad I kept some to the side then."

Naruto would eventually peel himself out of that crater and join Jiraiya. Then he'd probably get on with seeing Shizuka and meeting her people. He'd been gone for quite a while now.

(The Next Day)

"So wait, you never told Tokiwa I was from Konoha?"

"I didn't."

"Really, why?"

"It didn't feel important. Where you were from wasn't going to matter since you would be moving to Nadeshiko. You know, marriage and all."

A conversation between Konoha's Jinchuriki and Nadeshiko's princess. The two were nestled atop the West Gate's guard booth. Naruto was laying atop the guard booth with his head in the girl's lap. And his eyebrow rose hearing what Shizuka said.

"I get that but, you didn't tell her anything about me?" questioned Naruto getting a shake of the head from Shizuka.

"I didn't want to spoil it. Counting my chickens before they hatched. I didn't even tell her your name," said Shizuka embarrassed by her prior decision. She could have been reunited with her people had she have done so. Shizuka put her hand over Naruto's mouth seeing him about to fire off another question. "I already answered all of this last night Ero-kun. It's in the past so there's no need to keep dwelling on it."

"What's in the past?" Shizuka looked over to see Kakashi arriving for their mission.

"Nothing Kakashi-san. Me and-ah!" Shizuka tried to answer but Naruto licked her palm and turned to his sensei.

"Hime did something bad and is trying to hide it."

"Oh! What was it?" questioned Kakashi wanting to hear what Naruto had to tell.

"Well, she didn't tell her-ah!" Naruto's turn as Shizuka pulled his head back by his hair.

"Nothing, we have a mission to go on."

"Thank Kami someone said that." Sakura made her presence known. The three other members of Team 7 turned to see the medic angrily stomping her foot. "Kakashi-sensei is four and a half hours late. We need to leave!"

"Sakura's right. We do need to get going," said Kakashi getting everyone in motion. Kakashi whipped out his Icha Icha book before turning to his fellow Jonin. "How was your first mouth hug Naruto?"

Naruto blushed hearing Kakashi say that. How did he even know? Then Naruto remembered as he turned to his sensei.

"Did you keep your mask on when Anko-chan rode your face?" Perverted giggles came from the two of them as Shizuka shook her head.

"Perverts."

"Ah, you know you like it," said Naruto wrapping the girl up in a hug from behind. Naruto squeezed her getting her to smile before he turned his head back to Kakashi. "By the way, Hime's not a quitter."

Shizuka blushed as Kakashi giggled perversely some more. Shizuka wanted to hit Naruto but, he was smart. He'd wrapped her up in a hug to ensure she couldn't.

"Ugh, can we not talk about this?" questioned Sakura leading the pack.

"Hmm, Sakura-chan you're kind of tense," said Naruto getting Sakura to turn back to him with an eyebrow raised. She saw Shizuka and Kakashi nodding their heads to Naruto's statement. They knew where he was going with this as he asked his follow-up question. "When was the last time you had-"

"Finish that question and I'm punching you back to Konoha." A threat Sakura could very well make good on.

"Must have been a while, huh?" Naruto couldn't help himself.

Sakura decked the Kyubi Jinchuriki back to Konoha as she continued walking. Kakashi and Shizuka giggled at Naruto's antics and continued walking too. Naruto would catch up eventually.

(One Day Later)

"I will and can whip your wannabe monk ass."

"You couldn't fight out of a wet paper bag, cat boy."

"Those things are pretty tough to escape. You're a cakewalk in comparison."

"You wish, I could beat you with one arm tied behind my back."

An argument had between Konoha's Jinchuriki and a blue-haired teen his age. Team seven had arrived at the destination of their next mission. The sacred Fire Temple that houses ninja monks. One of whom Naruto was exchanging verbal barbs with.

"Yo, whose man is this?" questioned Naruto looking at the group of people standing behind the teen. Seeing none of them say anything, Naruto looked back at the blue-haired monk. "If I wasn't sure they'd stop me, I'd kick your ass all across this monastery kid."

"Kid? We're the same age!"

The rest of Team 7 was looking at the two bickering with bemused faces. Naruto was known for having initially bad starts to lasting relationships, but this one was weird. It was like the two disliked each other immediately without any premise.

"Sora-kun."

The blue-haired teen piped down hearing a stern voice behind him. Naruto saw it was another monk who dressed in the same garb as all the other monks in the Fire Temple. Though he had a sash around his waist that matched someone Naruto knew.

"Asuma-sensei has that same sash. Was that guy apart of the Twelve Guardian Shinobi too?" thought Naruto seeing Sora turn to the man.

"Chiruku-sama. I was just-"

"About to fight a senseless battle," said Chiruku to Sora. Sora dropped his head as Chiruku smiled. "Senseless only because you'd lose without question. You can not beat the gentleman before you."

"What?" questioned a stunned Sora as Naruto grinned hard. "I couldn't lose to a dude who draws whiskers on his face every morning."

"Yes, you would." Hearing Naruto chime in, Sora prepared for another shouting match but Chiruku spoke first.

"Yes, you would," repeated Chiruku, mimicking Naruto as he looked at the Kyubi Jinchuriki. He could feel the boy's energy and marveled at its strength. "Uzumaki Naruto, a pleasure to meet you. The power you possess is amazing. I could feel it before you entered the temple grounds."

"I like it even though I get a bit angry," said Naruto pausing to look at Sora. Naruto's eyes turned red as he continued in a low tone. "You won't like me when I'm angry."

"I don't mean your Bijuu," said Chiruku getting Naruto to turn to him. Chiruku smiled at Naruto before placing a hand on his shoulder. "I mean you. I can feel the latent potential coiled in your chakra. It's incredible."

"Latent potential?"

"Yes, you're fighting yourself. And that's what holds you back," said Chiruku cryptically. While Naruto pondered the monk's words, Chiruku looked to a good friend walking up to the group. "Asuma-san, you chose powerful help."

"Seems I did," said Asuma with a smirk. "Glad you all could make it Kakashi."

"Ah, what are friends for?" questioned Kakashi getting a chuckle from Asuma.

"You know Naruto I heard. That's Hatake Kakashi, Haruno Sakura, and Shizuka," said Asuma before noticing something. Shizuka was wearing a headband with a leaf on it. That got the Sarutobi to smile. "Welcome to the team Shizuka. The Leaf looks good on you."

"Thank you Asuma-san," said Shizuka with a blush as she touched at her headband.

"It is a pleasure to meet you all. I am Chiruku, the leader of this Temple," said the man himself as he bowed to them. "Well, I'm sure you're all fatigued after your travels. The rest of Asuma-san's team is inside. I hope you all like tea?"

"I do but, do you have Ramen?"

"I do not believe so Naruto-san."

"Bummer."

Chiruku smiled before leading everyone inside. Time to brief their requested backup on the task at hand.

(Fire Temple outskirts)

"Are you sure Fuka?"

"I'm positive," replied the beautiful Fuka, standing beside three others. She stood licking her lips as she looked at the Fire Temple in the distance. "I can feel that chakra. Even more intense than our first meeting. He's gotten stronger."

"This chakra Fuka speaks about..." started the other female of the group of four looking to her leader. She had long and straight dark brown hair with blue eyes and a choker around her neck. "Couldn't it just be our boy's, Furido-sama?"

"No Fuen. Our boy doesn't have the full Kyubi within him nor could Fuka feel it from this distance," said Furido, aforementioned leader. The same man who'd requested Konoha's help before had dismissed all earlier pretenses. Currently, he looked like a man ready to lead a revolution. "Ours will be enough to aid in our destruction of Konoha. But the boy Fuka feels could and would pose a problem. Asuma must have requested backup."

"Is he that strong?" came the gruff voice of the fourth member of the group. A tall muscular man with short messy black hair. "You actually sound worried."

"We've come too far to be stopped by a mere child Fudo. Apologies if I made you think otherwise," said Furido with a smile. Furido stood before his smile turned ominous. "Let us begin. The destruction of Konoha will have to pause until we finish them. While the boy could pose no harm, we'd be foolish to not eliminate him in case he could threaten or pester our plan."

"He's mine," said Fuka with a smile on her beautiful face.

"You can have him. Shall we?" Furido's question was answered when his team all vanished to get started.

Furido smiled wider before doing the same. The end of Konoha would be soon. Right after they rid themselves of a potential nuisance.

(Fire Temple - Sometime Later)

"How long has the kid been a monk?"

"Sora-kun was raised here but, he's not a monk yet."

"Ah, makes sense. He's too quick to anger," said Asuma smoking a cigarette as he chatted with Chiriku. Asuma exhaled the smoke and smirked. "Naruto is quick to anger too but, he can back up his talk. At least with regards to Sora here."

In front of Chiruku and Asuma were Naruto and Sora battling each other in a spar. A spar that was incited after they'd walked in the temple and Sora and Naruto's argument continued. It continued into a spar that Naruto was winning easily. While Chiruku and Asuma were admiring the one-sided exhibition, a member of Asuma's team was tired of it.

"C'mon dude, just give up," said Shikamaru with a bored expression. Shikamaru slouched next to the rest of Team Asuma and Team Kakashi who all stood watching the spar too. Shikamaru was the only one not interested in something they all knew would happen outside of Sora. "Naruto already knew he could beat you and...actually, never mind. Trying to explain this is more troublesome than watching it."

"When did Naruto-kun get so strong?" questioned Ino watching Naruto throttle Sora. Sora wasn't exactly a pushover and Naruto was making it look easy. "Watching him feels like the first time I saw Asuma-sensei fight. Makes decent fighters look below average."

"Agreed, that training trip did you good Naruto!" shouted Choji cheering on his comrade.

Said comrade was locked in a clash of sword versus claw with Sora. The golden blade sat between the tri-blade claw attached to Sora's wrist. The struggle for dominance wasn't much of one as Naruto pushed Sora back with ease. Sora flipped from the push, landed on his feet smoothly, and looked up to see the sole of a sandal blocking his vision.

"Yosh!" Naruto booted Sora away with a brutal Dainamikku Entori (Dynamic Entry). Sora smacked into a tree that stopped his momentum from the sturdy kick. Naruto grinned as he reset his stance to continue the spar. "Thank you Gai-sensei. That's becoming my favorite move slowly but surely. So effective."

"Ow," said Sora peeling himself from the imprint he left in the tree's bark. "That hurt as bad as one of Chiruku-sama's blows." thought Sora taking time to spit out the blood that accumulated in his mouth. Seeing Naruto twirl his sword leisurely, Sora gritted his bloodied teeth before sprinting back at the Jonin. "Hien (Flying Swallow)"

Naruto's eyes widened at the use of chakra flow from the fire temple monk. Sora smirked watching Naruto try to defend his chakra enhanced weapon.

"I'm going to cut right through." thought Sora making contact with the sword. Sora was surprised though when Naruto's sword glowed and stopped his clawed gauntlet cold. "What...you can use chakra flow too?"

"Yes, yes I can," said Naruto batting away Sora's claws before catching a wayward haymaker with his other hand. Naruto smiled before stepping forward with Sora's arm in tow. "This will hurt."

Naruto stepped across Sora's body to cause the monk to place his left arm over his right shoulder. Feeling the strain, Sora was flipped violently as Naruto jerked him backward with a judo throw. Naruto slammed Sora brutally as everyone cringed at the force used.

Naruto stood, still holding Sora's arm, for several seconds before noticing Sora go limp. It was over. Naruto nodded his head before sheathing his sword.

"Sorry about your protege Chiruku-dono. I was tired of him talking."

"Think nothing of it Naruto-san. If anything you've taught him a lesson in humility and for that, I thank you."

Naruto smiled before he felt his Seikuken get breached. Faster than anyone had noticed, Sora got up and lunged at the unsuspecting Naruto. Thankfully his jutsu was active still as Naruto dodged the attack. Naruto's eyes widened though when Sora's bladed gauntlet had been discarded for a grotesque monster hand. One much more dangerous than the ninja tool and very familiar to Naruto.

"Dude," said Naruto recognizing the chakra coming from Sora. "Kurama, how is this possible?"

"Someone must have collected my chakra from my last appearance and managed to place it within the boy's body."

"So I'm not crazy. He really has your chakra too?" questioned Naruto holding up a hand to stop any interference. The three older men knew what was happening but Naruto could handle this himself. "I'm sorry but I can't be nice about this. Not that I was nice earlier but, I definitely can't be now." continued Naruto dodging Sora two more times. Naruto got some distance before putting his hands in the snake seal. Naruto channeled his chakra as several chains shot out of his forearms into the ground below. "Thank you Ka-chan. Kongo Fusa (Adamantine Sealing Chains)"

The Kyubi's chakra within Sora was steadily increasing slowly as he growled at Naruto. He was getting angrier and angrier that he couldn't knock Naruto's block off. Sora roared before jumping at Naruto again. Halfway to the blonde jonin, he was caught in midair by a myriad of golden chains sprouting from the ground around him.

Restricting each limb, another chain wrapped around Sora's neck tightly. Naruto appeared before Sora in a Shunshin as he now held the tiger seal. The kanji for Suppress appeared on Sora's forehead as the ninja monk's eyes widened.

Seconds passed before the blue-haired monk's chakra lost the change to his hand and the Kyubi's chakra receded fully. Sora slumped tiredly in Naruto's chains before shaking his head. Naruto looked at the tired monk and realized he'd suppressed him fully. Naruto let Sora out of his chained trap before turning his eyes to Chiruku.

"Monk-jisan."

"I can explain Naruto-san. I apologize for not letting you all know of Sora's affliction," said Chiruku getting all eyes to turn to him. Chiruku was about to explain until a kunai stabbed in the ground right next to Naruto and Sora. A kunai that had an explosive note attached that was finished burning. "Look out!"

"You can't be serious," said Naruto grabbing Sora before turning his back.

BOOM!

A blast rocked the area that hid Naruto and Sora from view. Naruto's wind shield saved him from the most dangerous parts of the blast as he managed to save Sora. Naruto flew back from the explosion and landed roughly with Sora atop him.

"Fuck that hurt. That explosive note packed a punch," said Naruto laying in a tree. A tree he'd toppled with his high-speed crash into it. Naruto looked at Sora and saw him unconscious. "Blast knocked him out. Ah well, let me go make sure everyone else is alright."

Pushing the unconscious monk off him, Naruto stood up and dusted himself off. He perked up though feeling someone touch his shoulder. Turning his head to the sight, Naruto was face to face with someone he remembered from an earlier mission.

"Hey again handsome. How about a kiss?" questioned Fuka smiling beautifully at Naruto.

"Yes, yes I would." came the purely honest voice of Naruto as Fuka smiled wider. Naruto shook his head. "Not from you. I want one from Hime." continued Naruto getting Fuka to raise an eyebrow. Fuka knew who Naruto was speaking of and didn't see how she wasn't the better option over the former Nadeshiko kunoichi. "I need some lip balm first. That explosion made my lips dry. You wouldn't happen to be the one who threw that kunai, would you?"

"I'd never do anything to harm you Naruto-kun. All I want is a simple kiss," said Fuka turning to stand before Naruto. Her arms encircled his neck as Naruto rose an eyebrow. "I'm sure your girlfriend wouldn't mind just one kiss. I could probably teach you a few things to take back to her."

"Tempting but, I'm going to have to decline. She wouldn't like that." Apparently, Fuka didn't like what Naruto was saying as she flipped a switch. Her seductive and alluring demeanor shifted quickly to a wide-eyed and scary glare that froze Naruto. "Kanashibari no Jutsu (Temporary Paralysis Technique)?!"

"Ah, sorry about that Naruto-kun. But if you don't want to willingly give me that kiss," said Fuka returning to her normal seductress ways. Fuka put both hands to Naruto's cheeks as she licked her lips. "Then I'll have to take it by force."

"Hmm, well that poses a problem," said Naruto as his eyes shifted red. Naruto rescinded Fuka's paralysis jutsu with a Kurama-enhanced chakra flex. Fuka stepped back from the potent chakra Naruto was exuding and marveled at it. "You probably wouldn't know better in your old age but, we ask for consent these days."

"Old age?!" shouted Fuka as her hair began to flare dangerously. She calmed down quickly afterward before laughing. She looked at Naruto before smirking. "It's no matter. I will have your chakra boy. All of it."

"I guess we'll see about that."

Naruto versus Fuka, the fight was on.

Omake: Training Trip - A Documentary by Uzumaki Naruto

(1 week until return)

"What?! You can do that now?!" A question posed by Naruto looking at himself.

"So. Badass!" shouted another Naruto as a third one cheered loudly behind the two of them.

"Yes we am!" A fourth Naruto rose an eyebrow at the third one.

"We am? You must be the idiot clone."

"Oi! You want to say that to my face." The fourth Naruto wasn't scared as he walked over to the third one.

"You must be the idiot clone."

"Grrr, don't make me kick your ass."

"Yo," said the real Naruto looking at his clones about to get in a fight. Naruto's fist was covered in fire as he held it up to his clones. "What's the deal? I just mastered my second chakra nature for the documentary and you all are bickering. We should be celebrating!"

"Boss is right," said one clone as the other clones nodded.

"Good, let me make sure I caught that on camera," said the original turning his back to check on his recording camera.

"I'm fine with celebrating," said another clone before pointing to the third one. "He's still an idiot though."

"That's it! Shinku Rasenha (Vacuum Spiral Wave)" shouted the clone quickly charging the Rasengan variant. The other clones in the area all panicked but were vaporized by the widespread attack. The clone was breathing hard from his exertion but smiled deviously. "Who's the idiot now?"

"You are still. You blasted a hole through the divider of the hot springs," said Jiraiya sitting casually in the blissful waters. They'd just gotten to this resort as their last stop on the training trip. They'd return to Konoha in a week and Jiraiya figured Naruto and he could rest before doing so. He'd grown plenty strong. "I am me so I have no problem with the open view. I'm just glad you didn't hit anyone outside of your clone brothers. That'd have been bad."

The clone's eyes widened fearfully before looking at his original. The original Naruto didn't care about what was happening as he was making sure his camera caught the footage. His focus was broken when a scream sounded out. Naruto perked up before turning around to see a bevy of towel-clad women on the men's side.

"Ah! Pervert!"

"Pervert? It's just a healthy appreciation," replied Naruto absentmindedly before realizing something. There was a large hole in the divider now. "Where did that hole come from?" Naruto's clone chose that moment to dispel as Naruto got its memories. Memories that made Naruto frown. "Stupid clones. I knew I should have dispelled them before I came in here."

"I can't believe he blew a hole through the divider."

"What's wrong with him?!"

"Wait, is that a camera?"

"What a pervert! Let's kick his ass!"

Naruto heard the irate women and realized it did look bad. Especially since his clone that did it had dispelled itself before taking the blame. Naruto saw Shizuka giggling from the other end and frowned. Naruto could see Jiraiya smiling too as he was happy it was someone else about to get a pervert's beatdown for once.

That was until Jiraiya was hit by a sandal. He was hit by another sandal before looking over at the women. It took a third sandal to the face before he realized the women were actually coming for him and not Naruto.

"What? Why are they attacking me? I wasn't even spying." thought Jiraiya confused.

"You think we wouldn't recognize the super pervert Jiraiya of the toads?! Your cameraman isn't to blame for your behavior. He's just trying to make a living," said one of the women getting Jiraiya to groan.

"How the hell did they recognize me?!" questioned Jiraiya now running from the women as they chased him out of the hot spring.

Naruto was confused until he looked back at Shizuka. He saw Shizuka smiling at him and realized what happened. She must have let the ladies know about Jiraiya. Which inadvertently saved him from getting pummeled.

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm in love with her." thought Naruto waving to the girl. Shizuka blew a kiss back that Naruto grinned and caught. "I can't wait to take you back to Konoha. You're going to love it. And I'm going to make sure you love me too."

Naruto would make Shizuka his. He'd waited a year and teased and played with her before but, it was finally time. She was going to be his and he was going to make it so the first moment they got back to the leaf village. There was no doubt in the Jinchuriki's mind.

And from Shizuka's smile, she couldn't wait for it either.
