"Snow"

Hank hated snow. It was cold, useless, dangerous even. Brought back memories he'd rather forget. That horrible night of October. Snow storming onto the streets, making it almost impossible to distinguish anything. Then, this cruel sensation of losing control. The car slipping onto the ice, Cole's screams as he saw the truck was going to collapse into them, a blink of the eye. It was over in a matter of seconds.

The lieutenant closed his eyes, shaking his head violently at the memory. Fucking winter. Fucking snow. He thought, while drinking his now cold coffee. He reached out to pour himself another cup when something caught his eye. In his large garden was Sumo, chewing onto some rubber toy he'd found somewhere. And beside him was the most beautiful thing Hank had ever laid his eyes on. Connor.

Connor, the android sent by Cyberlife. His friend. After the revolution, Hank had taken him in, allowing Connor to live with him. To have a home. He couldn't bring himself to let him sleep in Cole's room, so he offered the couch. But since androids didn't need to sleep, that wasn't a problem. Taking a sip of his coffee, he closely watched the young man.

Connor had shed his Cyberlife uniform the very first day after the revolution. A way for him to break free from Amanda and Cyberlife. He was currently wearing a black parka and grey jeans, even though he couldn't feel the cold. Around his neck was a Gryffondor scarf Hank found in the attic. He wore no beanie. Hank tried to make him to, but Connor wouldn't have any of it.

The snow slowly fell upon the android's beautiful features, tracing the outlines of his soft face, before melting on his nose. He smiled while petting Sumo's head and man, that sight was one to behold. Hank loved to see Connor smile, the expression of his utter happiness written all over his face. One of Connor's smiles would make his old cheesy heart flutter and melt. He loved Connor's smile. He fucking loved Connor.

The android waved at him, smiling even more while trying to catch a snowflake onto his tongue. Hank chuckled and blushed, suddenly imagining Connor's tongue involved in another kind of rather dirty activity. Hank shook this idea out of his head. At least, the kind wasn't trying to sample blood or drugs.

Seeing Connor so happy made Hank's heart melt. And for the first time in many years, he didn't hate the snow.
