Summary: Kagome is cursed, and she can't help but feel the sudden rush of hatred towards the old witch who placed the damn curse on her. "Should you ever be kissed in true love, your power will destroy the one who placed that kiss upon your lips..."

Kagome had been content once the attention of the others had returned to the assignment on the screen. 'It's funny, to think that the human world is run by this teenager.' She turned as Hiei chuckled lightly under his breath. Curious eyes found him, but no one said anything as they continued to listen to Koenma.

'I'm sure you'd find more humor in his other form.'

Kagome laid down on his shoulder and placed her head on her paws as she looked curiously between Hiei and Koenma. 'What, pray tell, is this other form you speak of?' An image appeared in her mind of a toddler with a pacifier in his mouth, a pacifier similar to the one in the teens mouth who was handing out instructions to the four man team. 'No way!'

A smirk lit across Hiei's face and he added nothing to her shock at the infantile form of their boss.

"Are you still with us, Hiei?" Koenma asked curiously as he noted the obvious lack of sarcasm from the smaller demon.

"I heard what you had to say, Koenma. I'm far more curious as to why we are still wasting time here in your office, when clearly there's nothing left to tell us...or is there?"

"...her name is Kiyomi Sarasaki, take care of her...and remember, she's human...you can't kill her."

'Why does it matter if she's human or not?'

'If I kill a human, as a demon I will be imprisoned for the murder of a weaker sub-species. It's considered illegal for demons to kill humans.'

'Even if that human is a dark miko?' Kagome stared curiously at the beautiful red head and frowned, 'What are the rules of a human killing a human? I mean, aside from the obvious...'

'Well, considering we tend to not kill them...only when we are left with no choice, do they normally die. It's still not recommended. This is why I enjoy my fights with Demon's...I can kill them...and no one can raise a finger at me to tell me otherwise.' Hiei moved to step through the portal as Botan opened it. Stopping for a moment, he glanced at Kagome who was still eyeing the miko on the screen. "Perhaps you should stay."

Kagome's head shot up at that and she hissed in her annoyance at the suggestion. 'I CAN HELP!'

Hiei raised a brow, "I doubt it. You'll only get in the way,"

Kagome planted her claws in his cloak when he lifted a hand to pull her from his shoulder. 'Then I will die by my own choice! I will fight, and should you leave me, I will find my own way to follow! I told you, I am a Miko...and my powers are far from being lost!' She flared her energy and the black of her fur became tinted with the pink of her energy as Hiei dropped her and pulled his hand away from her. Scowling at the purifying energy that had caused him to feel pain rush through his hand, he scoffed and turned his eyes to the rest of the team. "...she's coming with us."

It was quiet as the group of five arrived at a large building of no less than thirty floors. Standing outside the building, Kagome could feel the demonic energy heavily drifting from with the walls of the building. She focused and found a good number of demons to be inside. 'Roughly twenty demons are inside, rather strong ones at that.'

Hiei raised a brow, 'you can feel out how many are in there?'

'...sort of, yes. I can also tell you that they are all on the top floor. This is still a human establishment, so most if not all of the demons here, are probably sporting human looks. That in itself makes them powerful.'

Hiei scoffed, "we've got roughly twenty powerful humanoid demons on the top floor."

"Did your kitty girl tell you that?" Kuwabara asked as he looked towards the top of the towering building.

"..." Hiei was hopeful that the oaf could feel his glare.

"Can she tell where the nice young lady we are supposed to be looking for is?" Yusuke asked with a heavy dose of sarcasm.

'I'm not entirely fond of your friends...' Kagome thought in annoyance as she closed her eyes and let her energy filter through the air and all around. She was thankful that her energy was still reachable in her...smaller...more feline state. 'She seems to be a few floors below the demons. Perhaps, her office? No...maybe a meeting, there are other energies in the room with hers...most are human...one is demon.'

"She has a read on the Tainted Miko."

Kurama stepped towards the doors and they opened on their own, "shell we use the entrance?"

"Sure, it's not everyday we get such a simple entry." Yusuke pocketed his hands in his jacket before following Kurama, Kuwabara and Hiei walking in after them. "No one is one the first floor? Ah, nope...the receptionist is here."

'She's human...keep your answers as uninformative as possible.'

"Hi there!" A woman with brown hair and gray eyes smiled, "are you looking for someone?"

Hiei interrupted Yusuke, "Kiyomi Sarasaki is expecting us,"

"Oh! Miss. Sarasaki? Yes, she is in a meeting right now, you can wait in the lobby on the twenty-seventh floor, that is where her meeting is being held. She'll see you after."

"..." Hiei spared the girl no nod of acknowledgment or words of thanks, walking towards the elevator with the others in tow, he simply chose to ignore the curious stares of his team.

Arriving on the floor specified by the receptionist, the group found seats and positions against the walls. Relaxing for mere moments when the door down the hall opened and a woman with vivid red hair came strutting out of the room. Her golden eyes took in their forms curiously as a flare of miko energy spread over the floor and she grinned a twisted smile. Beside her, a man with long, flowing white hair, and piercing golden orbs that looked to be taking in everything with a calculated stare...walked with a sense of poise.

'Hiei!'

'What is it?'

'The Demon by her side...he is the Lord of the Western Lands, Lord Sesshoumaru!'

Hiei's eyes widened as he took in the revered demon who he'd heard of from Mukuro but had never seen personally.'Why would a Demon Lord of his power and station, be working with a Miko with a darkened soul?'

'He isn't, he wouldn't. Not unless absolutely necessary. Let's not forget that she is using her purification abilities to torture demons into submission. I'm sure he has a reason...I know Sesshoumaru, he would never follow this woman. Never...'

A shrill chuckle sounded in the ears of those who were in the lobby, "my...oh...my...what ever do I owe this visit?"

"We came here looking for some bitch miko who's trying to enslave demons all across the world, know anyone like that?"

Her smile never wavered, if anything, it widened at Yusuke's wisecrack words. "The description sounds vaguely familiar, but I can't be sure." She glanced to the man beside her and he vanished from her side.

Yusuke was slammed into a wall by a well placed fist to his gut. Sesshoumaru's eyes remained calculating, only his hair settling was proof that he'd moved at all.

"What is the great Demon Lord Sesshoumaru doing as a slave to this woman's insanity?"

Golden eyes widened before narrowing on Hiei.

Another laugh sounded and the woman walked forward, her hand trailed up the arm of Sesshoumaru and stopped at the black marks of what looked like a tattooed collar around his neck.

'A subjugation spell! He can't attack her...he's literally chained to her words! No...not Sesshoumaru...' Kagome shook her head at the thought of the mighty Lord being controlled by this mad woman.

Stepping past Sesshoumaru, she walked towards Kurama. Hiei, who...although he didn't draw his blade, regarded her with caution as she grew closer to his red haired friend. "What a beautiful specimen of demon...why not be my pet?"

"I hope you're joking." His green eyes flashed gold.

"Haha, not at all. I'm...something of a collector of...beautiful species. They make for such...lovely toys. This one is my newest, among treasures," she turned to Sesshoumaru and her eyes glowed with her energy. "See, I had never thought I'd be lucky enough to come across demons, all the training with my miko abilities, I seriously thought it was pointless...but then, I started running into these ugly monsters. Killing them was such a fun past time, until these beasts started to show up more powerful and more beautiful than before. I was enamored by their godly looks...I wanted them. To possess them, to own them...and control them. Now, I do. Sakyo was too much of a gambler, he risked too much, and was far more the fair player than I will ever be. I like...playing...dirty." She smirked, "see, I've already staked claim to you...and you didn't even notice."

The group turned and their eyes gathered around Kurama's neck where a gentle glow receded and revealed the same markings around Sesshoumaru's neck.

'What the hell!?' She jumped from Hiei's shoulders and was clawing the face of the woman well before anyone could react to what she'd done. An ear piercing scream sounded and Kagome was knocked away from the crazed Miko.

'Woman!'

Kiyomi brought her hand to her face and pulled it back to see blood coating her fingertips. "Shit! My face! You stupid cat! You scratched my face~! I'LL RIP YOUR HEAD OFF!"

Before he knew where he stood, Hiei had his blade pressed dangerously close to the woman's neck. "Lay a hand on her...and I'll kill you..."

Kagome looked curiously up from her place on the ground, making her way around the woman and Hiei, she moved cautiously to Sesshoumaru who Kiyomi had clearly forgotten about during her skirmish with the golden eyed miko. His eyes followed her curiously, she jumped up and with her claws, she climbed her way up to his shoulders. She was certain that she couldn't fight the woman, but that didn't mean she couldn't be quite the little annoyance!
