Summary: Kagome is cursed, and she can't help but feel the sudden rush of hatred towards the old witch who placed the damn curse on her. "Should you ever be kissed in true love, your power will destroy the one who placed that kiss upon your lips..."

Sesshoumaru watched the black feline run along his sleeve and up to his shoulder. The urge to knock it away was one of many he controlled as it placed its paw against the stain on his flesh. The chain that the wicked Miko behind him had enslaved him with had been a curse of misfortune placed upon him only but a few weeks ago. He'd been so foolish letting down his guard for even a mere moment...that she'd been able to slip her dark magic around his neck. He narrowed his eyes at the feel of purification energy touching him, but he let go the cat and turned to see the hybrid demon with a blade to his master's neck.

"Sesshoumaru! Take care of them!"

He made to move, fighting the control of the chain, he brought his hand to his sword when his body stalled for a mere moment before continuing. His eyes widened as he stalled again, this time he didn't continue. His will to resist finally pushing against the chains around his neck. They were still there, though fading as the pink glow of pure energy continued to push itself through the corrupt Miko laced within the subjugation chain. A familiar scent came from the feline on his shoulder and he wrecked his brain for where he'd smelt it, but nothing came to mind.

"Sesshoumaru!" Kiyomi yelled out as she let her dark energy seep out from her fingertips. She turned to see Sesshoumaru not listening and noticed the cat glowing a fierce pink on his shoulder. Her rage burned as she ran passed the blade, a line of blood appearing across her neck as she carelessly tried to reach the feline. Sesshoumaru's blade stopped her and he resisted the urge to kill her where she stood. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?" Her eyes became wild as the gold color faded and turned into a dull brown color. "No... damn it!"

"So that's it..." Kurama said coolly, "you take on characteristics of the demons you imprison. I wonder which demon you stole that vibrant red hair from."

She turned and grinned, "ah...these two came as a set. The beautiful Lord of the West, and his little red-haired fox friend...yes...I will let him deal with you."

A Bing sounded and the group turned to the elevator where the doors were opening and a red haired, green eyed demon walked out.

Kagome looked up at the sound and her eyes widened, her energy stopped flowing as she took the demon in. 'Shippou!'

'Woman?'

Kagome turned her blue eyes to Hiei's red, '...my son...Hiei...that's my son!'

His own eyes widened as he turned in time to be knocked back by a round house kick. He skidded to a stop before blocking another kick. Placing his sword up, he went about blocking the attacks of the Fox demon that shared strikingly similar looks to his friend, all but the shade of red hair.

A blue blast of energy sped past him and he watched as the Fox Demon flipped out of the way, a large hole being blown through the wall as Yusuke's attack just kept going into orbit.

"Do not intervene, Yusuke!"

Yusuke smirked, raising his hand with a blue ball forming at the tip of his finger. "I can't possibly let you have all the fun..."

Watching as another blast was released as Shippou charged him, not dodging this one, "Damn!" Hiei yelled out as he knocked both him and Shippou out of the way of the blast.

"WHAT THE HELL! Hiei...maybe I'm stupid...but aren't we trying to fight the demons and capture the evil Miko woman?!"

"If that is your mission, then you will have to go through this Sesshoumaru as well." Sesshoumaru spoke up. "That boy is my ward, and I'll not let one hair on his head be harmed."

Hiei finally managed to get to an angle where he struck the fox demon in the neck and his eyes went white as he lost consciousness.

"...tch...could you fight your own comrade? I've got your red-haired friend under my control too!"

"This is bothersome, I can't quite well move..." Kurama muttered, "I already tried."

"You want to move?" Kiyomi laughed, the blood from the claw marks across her face still bleeding as she grinned.

"I'll not harm my friends," Kurama said calmly, "no amount of your vile energy can seduce my mind."

"So you thin-ack!"

Her body fell forward as Hiei walked away from her. "You all talk entirely too much. Kagome..."

Sesshoumaru turned to Hiei, "...Kagome?"

"Mrow~" Kagome pressed her paw against his shoulder.

His golden eyes widened as he looked to the feline on his shoulder. "Miko...is that truly you?"

"How did this happen? The last this Sesshoumaru heard, you'd vanished out of time."

Hiei sighed, "a curse was placed on her, she said that she'd returned to her time to try and fix it..."

A look of confusion found Kuwabara as he tried to keep up with all the information he was obtaining, "if you say she never came back, that means she failed...doesn't it?"

Silence fell over the room as they all turned to look at the Miko turned feline.

Kagome looked down at her paws, '...so there really is no other way. I can't go back...even if I found my true love, I could never...no...never...'
