TUESDAY, 1ST JULY, MORNING.

The Morning, was quiet and peaceful. It was nearing 8am and Rylan, Callie, Mariana, Jesus, Brandon and Jude were still sleeping.

The Moms lay in their bed, awake but relaxing. Their body clocks usually woke them early so they just lay in bed enjoying the quiet before the kids woke up. Morning when the house was quiet was wonderful. With 6 kids in the house, it was rarely quiet.

"I love this peace." Lena whispered softly as she rolled over and placed her head on Stefs chest. Stef immedialty wrapped Lena up in an embrace and kissed her head.

"Mmmm me too." Stef whispered back, her eyes closed as she ran her hand up and down Lenas back.

"Soon the house will always be quiet and we will only have baby girl in the house." Lena told her wife with a sigh. She was looking forward to the day that they grew up and moved out but on the other hand she wanted them to stay little. She wasn't ready for them to grow up, they were her babies.

"Don't start that. Im not ready for them to move out." Stef said with a whine that made Lena chuckle.

"I know, me either but it will happen eventually."Lena told the blonde. Lena raised her head from Stefs chest so she could see her wifes beautiful face. Stef opened her eyes and looked at Lena with a smile.

"Well that can happen later in the far future. I wished they remained little forever."Stef said looking at Lena, cupping her face. Lena smiled.

"Me too,me too." Lena leant forwards and placed a kiss on the beautiful lips infront of her. The two in their own world as they got lost in each others lips. If Stef had her way, she would kiss Lena all day if she could.

The slamming of doors announced that the kids were awake, breaking the Mothers out of their little bubble.

It was never an Adams-Foster morning with out door slamming and arguing between the twins.

Lena looked at Stef and chuckled before she planted a kiss on Stef lips and pushed the covers off of herself and headed into the bathroom.

With the twins, it was always the same argument, just a different day. Nothing changes. Stef rolled her eyes, that meant she had to go deal with the arguing twins like most morning. Slipping from the bed, Stef made her way out of the bedroom towards the twins arguing in the hall.

By 9.30am the kids were finally dressed for the day and were sitting in the kitchen with their parents eating breakfast. Toast, eggs, cereal and fruit were on the menu for breakfast that morning.

Normal early morning chatter filled the kitchen as the kids talked to each other and their parents, discussing what they were going to do today or what they had read or seen on tv.

The family were halted mid discussion about their fourth of July plans by the sound of the doorbell. Stef looked at the kids and then her wife, wondering who would be here. Getting confused looks, Stef knew this wasn't a planned visit. Having the Agents outside made it safer to answer the door anyway. So getting up from her seat, Stef headed to the door to answer it.

When she did answer it she was surprised at who it was. Although they were out of their business attire and in casual looking clothes, it wasn't hard to recognise Agent Callahans dark blonde hair and her piercing green eyes and Agent Mcguires Black hair and blue eyes.

"Stef, sorry for the interuption." Agent Callahan said feeling guilty at interuppting them at 9.30ish in the morning.

"Welcome, sorry was just surprised to see you here. Come in, come in." Stef says as she steps aside so the agents can walk in. She watches as they turn and pick up a box each with one left on the porch that Stef walks over and grabs.

Stef walks into the house behind the Agents and places the box next to the other two on the floor before closing the front door and turning to look at the agents. She looks at the agents and gives them a glance over in their civillian clothes.

"We didn't want anyone to know we were agents, so we went with casual wear." Agent Callahan said with a chuckle when she noticed Stefs glance.

"Good idea. Smart thinking." Stef said with a nod and a smile.

"Well we just came to give these to Rylan. We got ahold of the agents from Rylans witness protection case and they were able to give us her parents things. We also came to tell her that her parents headstones are currently been engraved now that their IDS have come through and her parents ashes will be sent here in a few days. When the headstones are ready we will drop of a map of where the headstones have been placed so that Rylan can visit." Agent McGuire says as he gestures to the three boxes on the floor.

"Thank you. Do you want to tell her or shall i?" Stef asks the agents who give each other a glance.

"You should do it. It would be better coming from you. We don't want to keep you from your family." Agent Callahan tells them. Stef nods. Greatful that she can tell her daughter, it would definitely be better coming from her.

"Well thankyou for dropping this stuff off. It was only the other day that we were thinkig of asking for a picture of Rylans parents for her." Stef tells the Agents, both nod in understanding.

"Well, we will leave you to it." Agent McGuire says as he glances at his partner. They did have things to do.

"Wait, is there any news on the case?" Stef asks before the two can leave.

"At the moment we have some leads thanks to kathleen but nothing solid. It will take time but we will catch them." Agent Callahan tells Stef. Stef nods seeing the sincerity in her eyes. These agents were very nice and understanding. Stef really liked them and she was glad to have them working on her daughters case.

"Thank you." Stef said sincerly and she meant it.

"Its not a problem Stef. We want to catch these people and your girls are just amazing and we want to help them in any way." Stef smiled at the blonde agent, tears of happiness and thankfulness in her eyes as she says goodbye to the agents.

With a smile the agents left the house and Stef closed the door behind them before looking at the three boxes sitting in the entry way.

Stef moved them to the side out of the way of foot traffic before moving into the kitchen.

"Who was that honey?" Lena asks from her spot at the table. All the kids stop their chatter as they wait to hear who was at the door.

"Just the agents. They dropped off Rylans parents stuff from witness protection." The older kids look at Rylan and Rylan looks around at her family.

"Do you want to open them sweetheart?" Lena asks the little girl who remains silent.

Without a word, Rylan slides off of her seat using Callies leg to help her, she moves towards the front entry way where she could see the three boxes. She stood infront of them, her eyes roaming the three largish boxes before she looked at her Moms and then towards her five siblings who had all followed her before looking back at the boxes. With a slow shake of her head Rylan turned away from the boxes and went upstairs.

The family really wanted to see what were in the boxes but they knew that it was Rylans choice. They were hers to open and if she didn't want to, then no one could.

Stef and Lena followed the little girls path up the stairs after telling the five others to give them some space to talk to Rylan. The older kids went back into the kitchen to finish eating and then clean up while their parents talked to their baby sister.

When they went upstairs and towards the girls room, they peak in and saw Rylan sitting on her bed hugging her bee toy and just staring at the floor.

"Rylan?" Lena calls softly as her and Stef walk into the room and kneel in front of the girl.

Rylan looked up and the moms could see her eyes filled with tears.

"I don't want to open them. Not yet." Rylan whispers.

"Thats ok sweets. You open them when you are ready. They are yours." Rylan nodded, feeling slightly relieved.

"The agents told me that your parents headstones are being egraved right now and they will send your parents ashes here." Stef told the quiet little girl. Rylan nodded to let them know she had heard.

"So we can go spread the ashes and visit their graves when you are ready." Stef told the girl. Letting her know that everything will go at her pace. It was a big deal.

"Can I go finish my breakfast now?" Rylan whispered after a few silent minutes.

"Yeah sweetheart, you can." Lena told the red head.

Both moms watched the little girl head out of the room. They could tell she was emotional but obviously not ready to talk. They knew she would come to them when she needed them.

Brandon, Jude, Jesus, Mariana and Callie had gone out for the day leaving the Moms and Rylan as the only ones home.

Rylan had frowned and not wanted Callie to leave but the Moms had told her that Callie was safe with the other kids and that Rylan herself was safe in the home with the Moms. It took a while but ended up convincing her enough.

For that the Moms were greatful as the little girl had been quiet all day since the boxes had been dropped off, they knew she was taking the time to process everything and the quiet was the best thing for now.

They had stayed with her at arms length in case she needed them. So far all she had done was wander the house, walking past the boxes and looking at them as she did so. The Moms could tell that she was thinking, thinking really hard.

By tuesday afternoon Rylan was almost ready to open the boxes. She sat on the stairs looking at the boxes. She had been thinking and contemplating all day. It was hard to see that these three boxes were all that were left of her parents. Boxes of things weren't the same as her living, breathing, parents, but in this case it was all that she had of them and right now she wasn't ready to open that box of worms. Yes she wanted to know more about the people who gave her life. But opening the boxes could change things.

When the kids all came home that afternoon, they were surprised to see the boxes in the same spot unopened. They were disappointed a little as they wanted to see what was inside but they got over it, when Rylan wanted to open them, she would.

The kids dispersed around the house, doing their own thing. The Moms stayed within the little girls sights but giving her some space.

Rylan sat on the stairs, her bee toy in her arms as she stared at the boxes like she had xray vision. Her eyes moved from the boxes to the walls with all the family photos of the Adams-Fosters, her included.

The smiles and the love that could be seen through all the photos had Rylan smiling. Looking over at the boxes, Rylan sighed.

It was then that Rylan decided enough was enough. She had to get this over and done with, they were her past and her new family were her present, that and her being a child couldn't be patient anymore and her curiosity won out. She needed to see what was in the boxes, needed to see what her dad looked like.

Getting up from the stairs, Rylan walked into the kitchen where her Moms were sitting around the table nursing cups of either tea or coffee.

"Can we open them now?" Rylan asked softly startling her parents. Lena and Stef looked over at the little girl with smiles.

"Of course we can. Are you sure though? It is a big step." Stef asked the girl as she and Lena stood from the table.

"Im ready." Rylan told them softly. Both Moms nodded to the girl encourougingly.

"Ok well how about you and I go move the boxes into the living room so we can be comfortable while you sort through them?" Stef asked Rylan.

Rylan nodded and followed her Mom into the entry where the boxes were. Stef moved the boxes into the living room while Rylan sat on an arm chair looking at the boxes. Slowly the others trickled in and Lena walked in with a knife to open the boxes, slowly she cut the tape off the three and then put the knife away before taking a seat. The little girl continued to look at the boxes, even now with them unsealed.

Slowly Rylan reached forward and opened the first box. On top was a pile of paperwork in a folder. Rylan looked at them and then at her Mama who sat next to her on the arm of the chair.

"Bank statements." Lena told the girl.

Rylan nodded and pulled the folder out and sat it next to her before looking in the box again. She found a baby book that had her name on it and when she pulled it out and opened it the first thing that was in there was her birth certificate.

"My birth certificate." Rylan whispered as she held the book open. Rylan looked from the paper and then up at her Mama. Lena smiled before looking at the birth certificate in the little girls lap.

"You have a birthday coming up very soon." Lena told the little girl. Rylan did nothing. Not even acknowledging it as she turned the pages in the baby book.

"When?" Stef asked looking at her wife. The kids and Stef letting Rylan and Lena have room to work and not to overcrowd the little girl.

"On the 8th of this month." Lena told them.

"That three days before Mine. We have close birthdays." Callie said with a smile but that instantly fell as she comment was ignored.

Rylan handed the book to Lena and then began to look through the box again. Lena opened the page of the birth certificate and examined it more throughly. She needed to know everything she could about the little girl.
