Episode 5 (87): Battle of the Bands

In the school band room, the Rainbooms were tuning up their instruments, as they're talking about something.

Rainbow Dash: You know I was thinking about something that could make this day go over the top.

Sunset Shimmer: What do you have in mind?

Rainbow Dash: We never really asked this to anyone, who's a better band, us or the Steam Team.

Applejack: Oh no, we're not trying to make this another Battle of the Bands are we?

Rainbow Dash: No, we're not using our magic for that, it's just a simple contest to see which of our bands comes out on top, which I think we'll come out on top.

Twilight Sparkle: Actually, the Steam Team did say they're good singers, so they got the vocals part already figured out, but instruments are something they need to work on a tad. I think we might have an advantage if they're a little rusty with their instruments.

Pinkie Pie: Oh, I'm so down with this Battle of the Bands idea, we'll have a sing off!

Fluttershy: At least this is just a friendly competition, along with no Dazzlings.

Applejack: Oh you got me with no Dazzlings, those girls ain't nothing but trouble, trying to manipulate us into fighting with each other.

Starlight Glimmer: I've heard from Sunset along with some history books back in Equestria, that these girls used their gem pendants to make every student that's in this school to fight amongst themselves which release all their negative energies for them to feed off, and you guys managed to stop them with your magic and your singing.

Sunset Shimmer: Yep, Twilight wrote up a counter spell for us to fight against the Dazzling's hypnotic song.

Starlight Glimmer: Whoa, can't imagine being under the control of them, I've already broken enough ponies for me from my former self.

Sunset Shimmer: Don't worry, we all trust you.

Starlight Glimmer: Thanks Sunset.

Rarity: Now that we got our strategy, what songs could we sing during the sing off.

Rainbow Dash: I think I've got the perfect songs for all of us to sing to.

Sunset Shimmer: Ugh, it better not be "Awesome as I Wanna Be" again.

Rainbow Dash: No, nothing like that. This is something I've found that could make our band pop.

Twilight Sparkle: Maybe we could have Principal Celestia, Vice Principal Luna and maybe Dean Cadence be the judges of the sing off.

Applejack: That could work, maybe we might have Vinyl and Octavia be our background musicians, though Vinyl can work the DJ booth.

Sunset Shimmer: That's an excellent idea, Pinkie could be in charge of the flyers.

Pinkie Pie: Absolutely, everyone will be flaunting over the sing off!

Rainbow Dash: Wait a minute, what about the Steam Team, what if they might hear us talking about our strategy.

Sunset Shimmer: If we would see them, they would be peaking through the opening of these doors. I'm sure they know that we got them beat, come on girls, let's get practicing.

Unbeknownst to the girls, Thomas has been spying on them hearing them from behind the door.

Thomas: (Chuckles, whispers) Time for my plan to come to fruition for this sing off.

He left the girls as he goes to the Steam Team in the gymnasium.

James: So, where are you off to?

Thomas: Well, they have their strategy on winning this sing off.

Gordon: I don't know, I mean they're good singers, but going against them, that's never happened before. You sure all of us agreed to this.

Thomas: Yes, we did, me and Sunset agreed that this sing off is a friendly competition.

In a flashback, Thomas and Sunset were in the living room making out until they break and looked at each other in loving eyes.

Sunset Shimmer: I love you Thomas.

Thomas: I love you too Sunset.

She gave him another kiss to the lips before getting up from the couch, and grabbing her guitar.

Thomas: You must really like that guitar.

Sunset Shimmer: Yes, I do, I always bring it every time we got to big concerts to perform for a lot of people and I enjoyed every bit of it. Being with my friends, hearing the people cheer and the magic of our music playing. It's music to my ears.

Thomas: It must be something special, for you all to play at a big concert.

Sunset Shimmer: Hey, I have an idea, what about us doing a sing off.

Thomas: A sing off?

Sunset Shimmer: Yeah, remember I told you about our Battle of the Bands with Adagio and the Sirens.

Thomas: Yeah.

Sunset Shimmer: So, why not we do this as a friendly competition, the Rainbooms against your Steam Team, we'll have Principal Celestia and Luna, and maybe Dead Cadence from Crystal Prep be the judges and judge our performances. The band with the most points wins.

Thomas: Interesting, now that sounds like so much fun, and the Steam Team has got this.

Sunset Shimmer: (Smirks) Is that so, I'm sensing a challenge from you.

Thomas: You know it Sunset, I'm thinking my Steam Team band will be enough to get us a victory or two.

Sunset Shimmer: (Chuckles) Oh really, well, I'll have you know that us Rainbooms have been performing for a long time, and you guys only just gotten started for just a long while.

Thomas: Yeah, you may think so, we may be a bit rusty with our instruments, but we've been singing throughout the majority of our lives on Sodor.

Sunset Shimmer: True, but remember, this is a friendly competition, we're not here to fight it out, like how we once did back in the Battle of the Bands. So, may the best band win Thomas. (She brought her hand out)

Thomas: (Chuckles) You got yourself a deal.

They shake hands signifying their deal.

Sunset Shimmer: We'll have the sing off at the gymnasium of the school.

Thomas: And I'm sure that will be quite the spectacle.

Sunset Shimmer: I'll see you on stage sweetie. (Kissed him)

Thomas: Same here. (Kissed her)

They hugged it out as the flashback ends.

Percy: So you think we might stand a chance from our experienced singing?

Thomas: Yes, even if the girls are experienced with their instruments, we can still show them what we Sudrians can do.

Edward: Thomas is right, and it's a friendly contest so there's no harm that's gonna happen after it.

Rebecca: Edward's right, whether we win or not, we'll give it our all, no matter the circumstance.

Henry: Plus, being a band is somewhat new for all of us, but like Rebecca said, we'll give it our all.

Thomas: Well said Henry.

Emily: Plus, it'll give us a chance to show the people of Canterlot how we play, whether alone or in a group.

Toby: So, what's our move Thomas.

Thomas: Like what they said, we'll give it our all, even if we don't win, we tried our best and we'll celebrate with the Rainbooms.

Nia: Indeed, though I wonder what the reward will be.

Thomas: Only time will tell Nia, for now, let's get practicing, I think I've found some good songs we could wow the crowd.

With the Steam Team's plan in place, the two bands went to practicing. After their practice, Pinkie handed out some flyers for the sing off. A while later, the gymnasium has a couple of people in it, Photo Finish was there to take the pictures of the bands, Vinyl was at her DJ booth getting it ready for the performances each band will perform, not only that, Hugo chimed in to help assist her since he loves her music and they sparked a really good relationship, and Octavia is there to be a backup cellist and the same goes for Derek ever since she taught him how to play the cello. Flash was the first to arrive with his date Molly.

Flash Sentry: Wow, this is starting to look really awesome, almost like our formal parties that we have here.

Molly: Really?

Flash Sentry: Yes, though one Fall Formal, was a bit eventual per say, namely with how Sunset used to act before she reformed.

Molly: I know, but I'm just glad you're okay Flash, I don't know what else would happen to you if you get hurt.

Flash Sentry: (Blushes) Thanks Molly.

Molly: Your welcome. (Kisses his cheek)

Duck: (Chuckles) Whoa, aren't you very lucky Molly.

They look to see Duck, Oliver, Boco, Murdoch, Philip, the CMC, Charlie, Ryan, Donald & Douglas, Rosie, Sandalwood, Micro Chips and Stanley, as well as Trixie, Luke, Peter Sam, Rheneas, Lemon Zest, Sour Sweet, Lyra & Bon-Bon and Indigo Zap.

Molly: (Chuckles sheepishly) Thanks Duck, what's going on with you.

Oliver: (Chuckles) Oh, you have no idea what's been going on, ever since Starlight came here, she's been staring at Duck and the same goes for him staring at her.

Duck: (Blushes) Hey, I just find her attractive, not to say that I don't mind dating her, just don't want to embarrass myself in front of you.

Trixie: Though to be fair, you and Starlight could make a really good couple.

Duck: Hmm, true, but like I said, I don't want to embarrass myself.

Boco: Come on guys, let's worry about crushes later, right now we have performances to watch.

So Flash and Molly took the first two seats, sitting next to them is Oliver and Trixie, Boco, Sandalwood, Micro Chips, Murdoch, Philip, Rosie and Duck, but the last seat was taking by Starlight Glimmer. They looked at each other and blushed.

Duck: (Blushes) Oh, umm, h-hey Starlight.

Starlight Glimmer: (Blushes) H-Hey Duck, fancy meeting you here right. (Chuckles sheepishly)

Duck: Y-Yeah, what are the chances. Umm, you look beautiful.

Starlight Glimmer: (Blushes) Aww, thanks Duck, you really are sweet.

Duck: Thanks Starlight.

The second row behind them the CMC along with Luke, Peter Sam and Rheneas took their seats, Charlie and Lemon Zest, Ryan and Sour Sweet, Donald & Douglas, Lyra & Bon-Bon, and last up Stanley and Indigo Zap. Principal Celestia, Vice Principal Luna and Dean Cadence walked up to the stage.

Principal Celestia: Welcome everyone to the first ever Sing Off at Canterlot High!

The crowd cheered at what she said.

Principal Celestia: This is a wondrous occasion to see which band comes out on top: The Rainbooms or the Steam Team. Now, keep in mind, this is a friendly competition, it's not like how it was back then with the Battle of the Bands.

Lyra: Yeah, I honestly don't like fighting against my friends, I'll never forgive those sirens.

Bon-Bon: Tell me about it, if I see them again, I'm gonna flip.

Principal Celestia: Don't worry everyone, the Sirens won't interfere with this Sing Off.

Philip: Geez, if I see them, I'm bolting.

Murdoch: You got me there.

Vice Principal Luna: Now, the sing off will be judged by me, Celestia and our special guest for lending us some of her trusted students over to attend this special occasion, please welcome Dean Cadence.

Dean Cadence: Thank you Luna, I'm honored to be part of Canterlot High's Sing Off, between two bands that everyone loves. This would be an exciting and fun battle of music.

Vice Principal Luna: (Chuckles) Indeed, now Celestia, shall we introduce the bands.

Principal Celestia: Yes, on the red corner, consisting of seven girls, who serve as the protectors of Canterlot, showing us the real magic of friendship, presenting the Rainbooms!

The Rainbooms came out of the doors, as the crowd cheered and Photo Finish and her crew start taking pictures of them.

Photo Finish: Yes, ze Rainbooms will shine like the colors of ze rainbow. Show then your stuff.

Rainbow Dash: Time to show the Steam Team what we got.

Sunset Shimmer: Like I said to you guys, let's not underestimate them, but this is all for fun.

Sweetie Belle: There's the Rainbooms, rock on!

Rheneas: I think they're going to win this.

Luke: I think so, being around these girls here, since they know their sisters, I think I'm on the winning side.

Peter Sam: Don't count your chickens until they've hatched my friend, remember, they're up against our own band.

Principal Celestia: For the blue corner, they are special guests invited to our humble town, who also served as Canterlot's next protectors, with allying with the Rainbooms, they show that little engines or kids can do big things, presenting the Steam Team!

The crowd cheered as the Steam Team walked in, and Photo Finish just couldn't pass up the opportunity for pictures.

Photo Finish: Ooh, strength, ferocity, vigor, all the makings of a true fighting force. This Steam Team is an outstanding force.

James: You hear that, the cameras flashing, the paparazzi, it's music to my ears.

Gordon: O' the Indignity James, knock it off, we're here to win the Sing Off not be flaunting over cameras and paparazzi.

James: What?! Can't a guy just have his moment for once.

Scootaloo: Go Steam Team! (Whistles)

Apple Bloom: Show our sisters that you can do this!

Sweetie Belle: You're actually siding with them.

Scootaloo: Why not, they're cool, especially Gordon.

Ryan: Come on you guys, you got this.

Stanley: Who's to say if the Rainbooms win this.

Ryan: If they win, I won't mind it, they're pretty good in their own right.

Rosie: Well, that is true, but I'm still going with the Rainbooms just to be on the safe side.

Vice Principal Luna: Rainbooms, Steam Team, meet.

The Rainbooms and Steam Team meet in the middle.

Sunset Shimmer: Well, may the best band win.

Thomas: Same here.

They shake their hands and head to their positions.

Stanley: So, who do you guys think will win.

Lemon Zest: I think the Steam Team has got this, I mean, they're just amazing.

Sour Sweet: Yes, they got their swag on, but the Rainbooms have been in the music field a little bit more than the engines. Not to say that they're bad, it's just the girls have more experience.

Indigo Zap: I'll give you that, and I'll stick with your decision on the Rainbooms.

Charlie: Well, I'll go with the Steam Team.

Sour Sweet: We'll see who comes out on top, and we'll get some smoothies and the loser has to buy them.

Lemon Zest: Oh man.

Indigo Zap: Don't worry Zest, I'll buy them along with you.

Unaware that Timber was also another guest to watch the sing off, as he walked in, he saw Emily walking with the rest of the Steam Team.

Timber Spruce: (Whistles) Man, she looks good, but I'll have to see cause I'm a judge of character, and hopefully this sing off will be good.

So Timber took his seat as the sing off begins, lights dimmed, spotlights shown, the spectators watch and the judges prepare themselves for what they're about to see.

Vice Principal Luna: Rainbooms, you're up first.

The Rainbooms approached the stage with Applejack taking the mic. The music played as the instruments began to pick up on tune.

BG Music: Friends- Blake Shelton (Angry Birds) (Applejack singing ft. The Rainbooms)

Applejack:

The music ended, and the crowd cheered and clapped at the performance, even the judges clapped.

Sandalwood: (Whistles) Go Rainbooms, you rock!

Micro Chips: I'll have to agree with you Sandalwood, that is a stellar performance.

Octavia: We did amazing Derek, keep it up, and we might get ourselves some desert after the Sing Off.

Derek: (Chuckles) I won't disappoint.

Octavia: I know you won't sweetie. (Kisses his cheek)

Dean Cadence: Outstanding performance, that was just amazing.

Principal Celestia: The way you incorporated country music into this song truly shows your many talents at not just being a farmer, but a country artist Applejack.

Applejack: Thank you Principal Celestia.

Vice Principal Celestia: Yes, that was an amazing performance you girls did, which we'll score that performance a 7/10.

The crowd cheered as the girls bowed to them and walk out of the stage, to see the Steam Team's first performance.

Vinyl Scratch: Phew, I'll have to tune up the discs for the next performance, Hugo, pass me a disc.

Hugo: One disc, coming right up Vinyl.

Vinyl Scratch: Thank you very much.

Donald: Oh, the Steam Team is so gonna show the Rainbooms that we rule around here!

Douglas: Donnie, shh, they're about to start.

Donald: Why are you telling me to shush Dougie, free speech, if you haven't caught on.

Duck: Guys, calm down, this is no time to argue amongst yourselves, since this Sing Off is supposed to be fun.

Donald & Douglas: Fine.

Flash Sentry: Whoa, you know how to make the twins behave.

Duck: It takes experience my dude, and some know-how, and then, you'll be getting to know a lot more about Donald & Douglas.

Flash Sentry: Good to know my friend.

Principal Celestia: Steam Team, you're up next.

Music played, and the spotlights pointed to the engines, as their instruments start playing.

Charlie: (Laughs) I love her.

Ryan: (Chuckles) I can tell, you two have a couple of similarities.

Vice Principal Luna: Remarkable, simply remarkable, you guys truly are the Steam Team from what the song just said.

Principal Celestia: You guys have brought the energy, your passion and your true desire to be with us in this very community. I humbly thank you all for giving your all in this spectacular performance, you guys got an 8/10.

The crowd clapped for the Steam Team as they bowed to the audience. They then walked off the stage, and see the girls clapping at them.

Rainbow Dash: I must say, that was impressive.

Applejack: Yeah, you guys did good.

James: You bet we did.

Edward: Calm down, this isn't a competition.

Rarity: Don't fret darling, we all know that this isn't a competition.

Thomas: Well, I guess it's your turn.

Sunset Shimmer: Come on girls, let's show them what teamwork is all about. But that's a good performance you guys did honey. (Kisses his cheek)

The Rainbooms got in position as they start singing their second song. The music start playing and

Scootaloo: Maybe, I think, I might have to look at it again and see.

Rheneas: Whatever the case is, this was an awesome performance.

Peter Sam: Indeed, Applejack and Rainbow Dash do make a really good singing duo.

Luke: (Chuckles) You're not wrong there.

Principal Celestia: Excellent performance girls, having Applejack and Rainbow Dash to be the singers of this performance was a really good step, you should be proud of yourselves, especially you two.

Rainbow Dash: (Chuckles) Thanks Celestia.

Dean Cadence: With your teamwork for this performance, you two have gained a 9/10 for your incredible singing, and credit to the other members of the Rainbooms.

Applejack: Thank you so much Cadence.

The crowd clapped as the Rainbooms bowed and left the stage, the Steam Team were waiting and watching.

Thomas: Nice job girls, especially you two Applejack and Rainbow Dash.

Rainbow Dash: Thanks, let's see if you can top ours.

Applejack: Remember Dash, they're trying their best, it is their first time after all.

Rainbow Dash: I know; I was only teasing.

Gordon: But now it's our turn. Let's see how this one goes.

James: Let's just say, it's gonna rock my friends, I'll take the lead on this one.

Percy: Oh boy, I wonder what James is cooking up this time.

Thomas: Something tells me that this either might be good or bad.

The Steam Team made their way to the stage, as the girls watched them, that's when Timber walked up to them.

Timber Spruce: Well now, just the girls I was looking for.

Sunset Shimmer: Hello Timber, fancy meeting you here.

Timber Spruce: Well, I didn't see that Pinkie slipped in an invitation to this here Sing Off, (Chuckles sheepishly) must've slipped my mind.

Twilight Sparkle: So, now that you're here, what do you think of it.

Timber Spruce: It's really spectacular, seeing you and the Steam Team show off their own string on their vocal cords, especially Emily, she has some beautiful pipes.

Rainbow Dash: Wait a minute, are you crushing on her?

Timber Spruce: What, (Stammers) I might, I don't know, though I really wanted to, I don't know, have a first date with her or something along the lines.

Pinkie Pie: (Gasps)

Sunset Shimmer: Shh, Pinkie. Sorry, I'll uhh, speak to her in private.

Sunset and Pinkie went outside the gym to talk in private.

Sunset Shimmer: Pinkie, do you know what this means.

Pinkie Pie: Yes, that means Emily, Nia and Rebecca's lovers are here, I happened to see Micro Chips and Sandalwood in the audience.

Sunset Shimmer: No kidding, while singing our second song, I happened to spot Timber there, and backstage, I see him looking at Emily, in an attractive sort of way.

Pinkie Pie: We should have a party for them.

Sunset Shimmer: Maybe around the end of the sing off, when the judges declare a victor. Right now, let's get back out there, and watch the Steam Team's second performance.

And the two had come back at the perfect time, cause the judges are about to tell the Steam Team to go ahead.

Vice Principal Luna: Steam Team, you are clear to go.

The music plays, the spotlights shines on them, as their second performance starts.

The crowd cheered for the Steam Team, even AJ, Sunset and Rainbow Dash were surprised.

Applejack: Well I'll be.

Rainbow Dash: I agree, it sounds like they're trying to do rock and roll.

Sunset Shimmer: That was totally new territory for them, I hope they didn't overdo it.

Dean Cadence: Wow, that was an interesting performance, I must say you guys really put your all, showing your talents to good use and creative liberties for this performance.

Vice Principal Luna: Yes, I'll agree, though there's one little critique that I wanna put out, while you gave it your all and show you guys are a tremendous band, it's just rock and roll at some points aren't your strong suit.

Vice Principal Luna: For that, we'll give you a score of 6/10.

The crowd cheered as the Steam Team bowed and walked off the stage as they see the Rainbooms clap for them.

Sunset Shimmer: Wow, you guys put a good performance, even if rock and roll isn't your strong suit.

James: I thought that was gonna be our focal point of the whole Sing Off.

Gordon: So that was your plan, introducing rock and roll for this, I hate to agree with Luna, but that wasn't our strong suit.

James: Hey, I tried to think of our winning strategy, cause they're already ahead by a few points.

Rainbow Dash: Take it easy James.

Percy: Remember, this isn't a competition, we're all here to have fun.

James: (Sighs) You're right, sorry, I always get too competitive for my taste.

Rainbow Dash: Don't get over yourself too much James, cause right now, it's our turn, who's gonna be the lead singer today.

Sunset Shimmer: I believe it's my turn, I think they would be wowed by this one. And, I believe you'll love my beautiful voice when I'm on stage, don't you agree Thomas.

Thomas: (Chuckles, blushes) I'll be looking forward to it.

Sunset Shimmer: I know you will. (Kisses his cheek)

Sunset gave him a quick hug before the Rainbooms went on stage for their last performance, that's when Timber approached him.

Timber Spruce: Quite the ladies' man you are huh.

Thomas: (Blushes) Well, I get that a lot actually.

Timber Spruce: Which ones have you been attracted to?

Thomas: Umm, well, I've had feelings with Lady at first, back when I saved her from Diesel 10.

Timber Spruce: Ooh, you've been a knight in shining armor, and had to save your princess from that dreaded diesel dragon, if I heard that correctly.

Percy: (Snickers) Ha, dreaded diesel dragon, that's so hilarious.

Thomas: We get the picture Percy, anyway, I also had a thing for Emily, she was a real sweetheart.

Emily: (Blushes) Aww, thanks Thomas. (Kisses his cheek)

James: (Laughs) Thomas the ladies' man, what a site for sore eyes. (Laughs)

Thomas: Stuff it James, anyway, somehow Rosie find me attractive, and (Whispers to Timber) don't want to hurt her feelings but I don't like being her role model sometimes, just don't tell it to her.

Timber Spruce: My lips are sealed my friend.

Thomas: And I somehow grew a liking to another friend of mine, Ashima, she has some beautiful paint markings that'll make even Rarity faint.

Henry: Well, she didn't really faint, she just happened to be loving her paintwork.

Thomas: Yes, I know that, but I'm just saying it could happen.

Gordon: Shh, Thomas, we know you're telling him about your many girls that you've hang with, but right now, we have a performance to watch.

Thomas: Don't ever shush me like that again, got it.

Emily: Mind if I keep you company sweetie.

Thomas: (Blushes) Why not.

Dean Cadence: Okay girls, wow us with your last performance.

The spotlights shone on them, the crowd watched as they see Sunset at the center with the other Rainbooms behind her. Then, they hear guitar strings strumming as the music is played, which the crowd thought was beautiful, Thomas was hearing those guitar strings and thought was the most soothing music he ever listened to and see Sunset in the stage, and then he heard her voice.

BG Music: The Bones- Maren Morris (Sunset singing ft. the Rainbooms)

Sunset Shimmer:

The crowd immediately erupted in applause, and the judges love it as well, even the Steam Team were surprised by the performance, none more amazed by Thomas.

Thomas: ENCORE! ENCORE! YOU GO SUNSET, WHOO! YOU ROCK!

Thomas stopped and looked at his friends with wide eyes, as they gave him smirks.

Thomas: (Blushes, chuckles sheepishly) Umm, whoops.

They smirked and rolled their eyes, and let that slide. Emily could tell that Thomas was happy for Sunset's performance.

Emily: (Chuckles) It's okay Thomas, you were just very happy for how Sunset sang, it just shows how much you love her.

Even Sunset blushed from hearing Thomas' words, as she hugged her arm while smiling.

Rainbow Dash: He's definitely in love with you after that outburst.

Sunset Shimmer: True, I hope the judges find this performance spectacular.

Dean Cadence: It's absolutely marvelous, Sunset, your voice was simply breathtaking, you truly have a wondrous gift, you bring a gentle wisp into the air, a gentle breeze in the wake, you really are the definition of a living, breathing angel.

Sunset Shimmer: Aww, thanks Cadence, it really means a lot to me.

Vice Principal Luna: From what we've just heard, you girls get an outstanding 10/10.

The crowd clapped as the girls bowed smiled and bowed to them as they head backstage, the Steam Team were clapping at them.

Henry: Good job girls, you guys did amazing.

James: Yes, I'll admit, that was a nice performance, probably the best one combined.

Sunset Shimmer: Thanks James, now onto the main star, did you like my performance Thomas dear.

Thomas: Y-Yes Sunset, your singing is just simply breathtaking, and I loved every bit of it.

Sunset Shimmer: (Chuckles) Well, I'm glad you enjoyed it babe. (Kisses him)

The Steam Team chuckled seeing this, until they hear Timber clapping.

Timber Spruce: Bravo girls, you really outdid yourselves in more ways than none.

Sunset Shimmer: Thanks Timber, but the Steam Team sure are putting in their best.

Timber Spruce: They sure are, oh uhh Emily, if it's not too much trouble, could we maybe go on a date.

Emily: (Blushes) Umm, I guess I can make an exception.

Timber Spruce: Then it's settled then, oh, would you look at the time, it looks like the Steam Team are the last ones up.

Thomas: Thanks for the heads up Timber, come on, let's wow the crowd one more time.

They start heading to the stage, not before Emily sneaking a kiss on Timber's cheek.

Emily: You're such a charmer.

Timber Spruce: (Chuckles) Well now.

Sunset Shimmer: Looks like you got yourself the girl.

Timber Spruce: I sure do.

Principal Celestia: Steam Team, this is your final performance, make this one count.

The music plays as the spotlight shines on them, as they began their last performance.

The crowd clapped for the Steam Team's latest performance, as they bowed, even the girls were impressed.

Applejack: Shoo-wee, that ain't too bad of a performance.

Timber Spruce: I can totally vouch for that.

Principal Celestia: Well done, Steam Team, you've truly shown your talent to the fullest potential.

Thomas: Thanks Principal Celestia, my team always strive to show their best, at any challenge that they throw at us.

Dean Cadence: From what we just heard, you guys surely show what it means to be a really useful team, you guys deserve a 9/10 score.

The crowd clapped as the Steam Team bowed for them.

Vice Principal Luna: Now, Rainbooms, make you way to the stage. It's time to see who is the champion of the sing off.

The Rainbooms walked up the stage and next to the Steam Team as they wait for the final results.

Dean Cadence: After compiling the results, the Steam Team have a combined score of 23/30.

The crowd cheered as the Steam Team smiled from their combined score.

James: I'll admit, it's a decent score, but we did awesome back there.

Percy: You know it, we rock!

Thomas: What's important is that we all had fun.

Vice Principal Luna: Now the Rainbooms, have a combined score of 26/30, which makes the Rainbooms the winners of the sing off, and the score is incredibly close.

The crowd cheered as the girls jumped in joy of the fact that they won. The Steam Team, even though they didn't win, they were happy for the girls.

Rainbow Dash: Oh yeah, we're awesome, but you guys certainly tried your best. You were 3 points shy behind us.

Thomas: We did, but it was awesome.

Sandalwood: I'll say dude; you guys totally rock this joint.

Micro Chips: Yes, to be perfectly honest, it was an amazing competition, with some high moments and very few low moments, but overall it's a really nice event.

Rebecca: Thanks for the compliment Micro Chips, it really means a lot for all of us.

Micro Chips: (Blushes) Y-You're welcome Rebecca.

James: Well now, fancy meeting you two here.

Sandalwood: We got the invitations Pinkie said out, and wouldn't ya know it, this gig just went off the chain.

Timber Spruce: What can I say, brother from another mother, the two bands really went off their ringer for this sing off.

James: So, what else is there to do.

Pinkie Pie: You can join with us in our celebration, we got cake.

Thomas: Thanks for the offer Pinkie, and it would be rude of us, to not be part of your celebratory party.

Sunset Shimmer: Now who wants a taste of my victory Neapolitan cake.

The ones that attended the sing off decide to stay to attend the after party, meanwhile, outside the school, the portal inside the podium is glowing with magic, three figures pop out. It was the Experimental Trio, Merlin, Theo & Lexi.

- Lexi has turquoise skin with orange hair, and teal highlights, stylized in two side ponytails, wearing two circle earrings on her ears. A black tank top with the letters R, P & C printed on it, with a cyan jacket over it, red on the inside, red shoulder patches, gold lines and the number 21 on the arms, and red cuffs. Cyan short shorts with a black belt around it and two bold gold stripes going down it, black knee high shoes with a red bottom, cyan laces with grey braces

- Theo has golden brown skin with black hair (that goes to his neck and spikes up at some spots) and brown highlights, wearing two small circle earrings on his ears. A light brown stitched shirt with some strings showing from his chest, with a brown jacket over it, grey and red details on the shoulders, red cuffs and red on the inside, but half of the jacket is a light shade of brown. Emerald green pants with a black belt around it and grey stripes going down it, black shoes with a red bottom and brown laces

- Merlin has silver skin with crimson hair styled in dreadlocks, and dark grey highlights on one of the dreadlocks. Wearing a black shirt with a dark grey sweater, grey and red details on the shoulders, the number 783 on the arms and red cuffs. Red pants with a black belt around it and black sneakers with a red bottom and dark grey laces

Lexi: Oh man, I'm so not used to dimensional travel or jumping in and out of portals.

Theo: L-Lexi, is that you.

Lexi: Of course it's me Theo, and what are you wearing.

Theo: What am I wearing, what are you wearing.

Merlin: My friends.

Lexi & Theo: Merlin! Merlin!

Merlin: Are you guys alright.

Theo: W-We're fine, but where are we, and why do we look like this.

Merlin: This must be the human world that Lady is talking about, and where Thomas and his friends are staying at.

Lexi: Well, for one thing, the evil hasn't arrived yet, so that gives us plenty of time to find Thomas.

Theo: But where is he?

Merlin: I'll find him, right now, you guys need to be somewhere safe, but where that's the question.

Lexi: How about that building over there.

Theo: W-Whoa, that's a pretty big building.

Merlin: That should be a good shelter until we find Thomas and the others.

They walked towards Canterlot High, and as they opened the door, they were amazed at the interior, they've entered the main lobby of Canterlot High.

Theo: Wow, this is a nice looking place.

Merlin: While you guys stay here, I'll look for Thomas, maybe wait in there.

Lexi: Okay Merlin, be careful.

Merlin: Of course I'll be careful.

He walks off to find Thomas, while Lexi and Theo walk towards the sports closet.

Theo: Y-You sure that Merlin can find Thomas in this dimension we're in.

Lexi: Believe me Theo, I'm sure Merlin will be able to find them.

So Lexi and Theo entered the closet and stayed there, meanwhile, Merlin is walking around town trying to find Thomas, as he's looking, he spots a wizard hat in a hat store.

Merlin: Hmm, that's an interesting hat.

Cashier: I see you're fascinated by this wizard hat.

Merlin: Well, my name is Merlin, and I live to disappear and reappear when you least expect it.

Cashier: Well, since you're one of those Sudrian folk, here's this wizard hat, free of charge.

Merlin: Why thank you my friend, I'll wear this hat with honor.

Cashier: (Chuckles) You're welcome Merlin.

Merlin grabbed the hat and placed the hat on his head.

Merlin: Ooh, it looks and feels good, I think I like it. Now, onto the quest at hand, to find Thomas and his friends, and warn them of the incoming threat that will strike at any moment.

So Merlin continued his trek to find Thomas before the threat comes its way.
