Thanks for the review! I'm hoping people are still reading and liking the story. I've got plenty of chapters to post. I hope you all like the direction I take Laci's story. I did start season 6a and I can't wait to get into it more.
I do not own anything in this chapter, besides Laci, everything else belongs to their rightful owners.
Chapter 18
$%$^$&&$%^
A few days had passed since they saw the last chimera and things had been quiet on all ends. They weren't sure if that was good or a bad. Scott was busy trying to reunite his pack. So far Stiles still wouldn't talk to him, and Malia wouldn't answer his calls. Lydia was in Eichen house, and Kira was still out of town. Laci and Isaac made it a regular thing to go to the woods and train.
So far Laci had gotten the basics down and they were moving forward. They were currently in the middle of a training session. Laci sent a punch at Isaac, which he blocked, tossing her back. She skidded back, catching herself before she fell. She didn't wait long before advancing on him again and attacking.
Isaac was able to block most of her attacks, tossing her away every time she got too close. They'd been at this for hours already and he could tell she was getting tired. Her punches were getting sloppy and her reactions weren't as quick.
She kept trying though.
She hooked her ankle around his and pulled, sending him onto his back. She didn't hesitate as she straddled him and held the fake knife to his chest. "You're dead. I win." She laughed, blowing her hair out of her face.
Isaac surprised her as he flipped them, rolling her underneath him. She gasped as her back hit the ground. "I'd be dead if I was human. Wounded if I'm me. You gave me the opening again. Now I win." He said, holding his claws to her neck.
Both were breathing hard. Isaac had his weight pressed against her, his head just inches away from hers. His eyes flickered down without really thinking. The thought crossed his mind. He could kiss her and he was curious to know what she'd do if he did. It was too soon for anything like that to happen. He'd only been back a few week and he knew they were nowhere near ready to take that step. Still, being this close to her, it brought back old feelings.
He was startled out of his thoughts when she suddenly grabbed onto his wrist, her body going stiff as her eyes turned pure white. "Laci? Laci, what's happening?" He asked, worried as he laid up.
Pain etched across her face as if she was seeing something horrible. "No, no. Scott!" She cried out, reaching out her hand.
Isaac took her out stretched hand in his, gripping it tightly. The episode lasted another few moments before her eyes returned to their usual color. She looked startled as she laid up, looking around frantically. Isaac knelt beside her, brushing her hair back. "What happened? Lace, what did you see?" He asked, trying to get her attention.
She seemed to have forgotten he was there. She looked spooked as she looked at him, as if just remembering he was there. She let him help her to her feet. She had leaves and dirt covering her, but she didn't seem to notice. "I saw this creature. It-it's so huge. Scott. I-I have to warn him." She said, looking around for her bag so she could find her phone.
"You want to tell me what that was?" He said, watching as she dug around in her bag.
She didn't have the time to explain it all to him right now. She needed to warn Scott about what was coming. He had know what she saw, even if he didn't believe her. She knew Stiles would and he'd convince Scott to believe her too. "It just happens some times. I can't explain it. Are you coming or not?" She asked as she pulled her phone free and zipped up her bag.
Isaac looked conflicted as he watched her start to call Scott as she packed up to leave. She didn't wait for him to answer as she started back toward the car. Isaac sighed, grabbing his stuff before he followed after her. Answers would have to wait until later. He'd just have to wait until the next time he got her alone.
This training session was officially over.

Laci and Isaac got to the house the same time Stiles pulled up. She didn't wait to say hi as she hurried to the house. Stiles shot Isaac a confused look, which he just shrugged to tell him he didn't know. The two boys followed her inside the house and up the stairs toward Scott's room.
When they found him, Laci and Stiles both stopped short when they saw the wound on his chest. It still hadn't healed. Stile seemed to come out of the surprise first. "Hey. Still not healing?" He asked, looking at the ugly wound.
Laci glanced between Scott and Stiles and could see how tense things still were between them. As much as she wanted to tell him about her vision, maybe it had to wait. Stiles was obviously here for a reason.
"Sometimes it just takes a little longer." Scott said as he fixed his bandages. "What are you guys doing here?"
Stiles glanced back at Laci, knowing she was in a rush to get up here. He was giving her the chance to go first. She glanced at Isaac, now conflicted over how to tell Scott. Isaac motioned her to go on and tell him. There were already too many secrets going around. This didn't need to be one of them. "Do you remember that night in the hospital? I had that dream about Stiles being hurt? I was so sure he was getting attacked by some kid." She asked, looking between the three of them.
Scott nodded, not knowing what that had to do with anything. Stiles seemed to catch on to where she was going though. "That was the night Donovan attacked me. You saw it." He said, watching her reaction.
She nodded before looking at Scott. "I had another dream about the night of the supermoon. It was of you and mom. You weren't breathing and she was preforming CPR on you. That came true too. I don't know what's going on with me. Theo said it was a side effect to the Dread Doctors bringing me back." She explained, looking between the three of them.
She could see that they were confused, well besides Stiles who already knew. Scott looked blown away. He had no idea this was going on with his sister and guilt hit him. He should have known something was up. With everything else going on though, he brushed it off as nothing. "You've got powers now. Is that all you can do?" He asked as he let the information sink in.
Laci nodded her head, glancing between the three of them. She could see Isaac and Stiles were curious about that as well. "As far as I know, yeah. That's not the point though, Scott. I had another vision. It was of this . . . this creature. It was big and terrifying." She said, hoping that they believed her. She knew it wasn't much to go off of, but it was something they needed to know.
"Ah, that might have to do with my news. Did you heard about the guy who got killed out at the communications towers, right?" Stiles asked, looking between the twins curiously.
"Yeah." Scott said as he pulled on his shirt.
"I think I may have figured something out." He said.
Scott looked surprised. "What, you want my help?"
Stiles didn't want to admit it, they could all see that, but he didn't have a choice in coming here. He knew Scott was his best bet at figuring all this out. "Yeah, well you said you can find the clues that I can't." Scott almost looked giddy over the fact that Stiles was asking for his help. "Here, take a look." Stiles said as he pulled out his phone and pulled up a video. "This is when the technician first arrived. You see him going in? Then deputy Clark goes in. Then something really big and fast comes charging out. And now comes Clark. Eventually, technician's body is carried out by paramedics." He said, showing the three of them the video.
"Okay, what am I missing?" Scott asked, looking confused.
Laci and Stiles shared a look. She had caught what Stiles was trying to show them. "Two people go in. Three come out. I checked all the footage. Not a single person enters that building before the technician that entire day. So where does that something really big and really fast come from?" He said, looking between them.
"There's another way in."
! #$$^%$
The four headed down to the communications towers to get a better look at the place. They knew there was another entrance, they just had to figure out where it was. Isaac and Laci stayed in the car to keep watch while Stiles and Scott went inside. Laci would have put up an argument about being side-lined, but she knew they needed to talk alone and work things out.
Though the same could be said for her and Isaac. The newness of her being back was starting to ware off and she knew they'd have to talk about their issues from before at some point. There had been so many things left unsaid when she died.
"So, when'd you get the tattoo?" Isaac said, breaking the silence that had fallen over them.
She looked surprised at the question. That was what he wanted to know? Out of all the things he could have asked her, that was his first question? She couldn't help but laugh. "Sorry, I'm not laughing at you. Um, I got it between sophmore and junior year, I think. Before we broke up. I was going to surprise you with it, but then we had the baby scare and, well, things were never the same after that." She said, her voice growing serious as she finished.
Isaac cleared his throat at he shifted around in his seat. "Right,"
They never had this conversation before. When they broke up, they tried so hard to be away from the other. When they got back together, it was strained and they still weren't talking like they used to. Maybe now that time has passed, they could finally have this talk. "We were going in two different directions, Isaac. It led us to other people, different lives. I knew we were done before we even really got back together." She said, her eyes locked on her hands.
The mention of Derek and Allison stirred something inside of Isaac. It wasn't their best moments, but he knew she wasn't wrong. He'd moved on with Allison just like she moved on with Derek. Granted the timing could have been better, but they'd been on their way to being happy with other people.
"I never meant to hurt you with Allison. I knew she was your friend, but I liked her. She was so different from you and I think I needed that." Isaac told her, sparing her a glance.
Laci tensed at that. Allison was stronger than she was, smarter too. She was so beautiful and funny. Everything she wasn't. Even after all this time, she was still jealous of her old friend. Only to her a year hadn't passed since their deaths. It'd been weeks, months at most in her mind. She was still bitter about the fact Allison had been there for Isaac, but then how could she? She had moved on with Derek at the same time.
Silence fell over them for another few minutes before Isaac spoke up. "Why haven't you called Derek yet and told him you're alive?"
Now that was the question of the year. A question she was still trying to answer herself. It was the same reason she hadn't called Isaac, she supposed. "Because he moved on. Stiles told me about that girl that saved you. She helped him through a hard time and he fell for her. They left town together. I can't just . . . I can't just call him and disrupt his life. He's happy." She explained, looking out the window sadly.
Isaac could see how hard it was for her to not call Derek, and a part of him hated that. Since coming back, he knew old feelings were stirring around and maybe he was still bitter about the fact he'd lost her to Derek. He could see now her feelings were still there.
He was about to say something when he heard a faint roar. It was Scott.
"Something's wrong." He said, listening to the roar.
Laci looked worried looking around for any sign of Scott or Stiles. Isaac opened up the back and hopped out. He reached out his hand toward her. She hesitated before taking it, letting him help her down. The two hurried inside, looking around for her brother and Stiles.
It took them a few minutes to find the opening. Isaac glanced back at Laci, conflicted about letting her come. The last time they let her come to a dangerous fight, she had died. They were literally running into who knows what, he didn't want to put her at risk. "Isaac, I'm coming. Go." She said, as if she could read his mind.
She slipped by him, heading down the ladder first. He sighed before going down after her. Looking around, they could barely see anything, let alone where to go. Isaac focused on his hearing, trying to listen for Scott and Stiles' voices. He took her hand and led the way.
By the time they got there, Theo was leaving. He had a smug look on his face as he moved passed them. Laci gritted her teeth, her grip on Isaac's hand tightening. He could see how angry she was and squeezed her hand back. She looked surprised, having forgot she was holding his hand. Her eyes lifted to meet Scott's. She was worried about him seeing as the last time he'd seen Theo was when he killed him.
Her eyes moved to Stiles then. He was laying on the ground, not moving beside the rise and fall of his chest. "Oh, god. Stiles!" She said, hurrying to his side the same time as Scott.
The two of them helped Stile sit up, leaning him against the wall. Scott took the spot beside him while Laci straightened up onto her feet standing beside Isaac. Stiles took a deep breath, his eyes looking up to meet Laci's worried ones. "I'll be fine." He said, wanting to reassure her.
"He knew what it meant." Scott said. "And I can't remember the words."
"Damnatio Memoriae." Stiles said, his eyes flickering from Laci and Isaac to Scott. "It means the condemnation of memory. I think it also means that whatever the dread doctors created, whatever this last chimera really is, it's not something new. It's something old. Really old."
"So they didn't creat a new creature." Scott said, looking between the other three.
"They ressurected one."
Laci felt her body tense up upon hearing Stiles, her eyes meeting Isaac's eyes. She'd mentioned being worried about being the last chimera. If this was something old like Stiles was saying, what's to say they didn't bring it back when they brought her back?
