Thanks for the reviews. I'm glad to see people still love this story and believe me I've got the chapters to post. I love hearing everyone's reaction and I can't wait to get more into season 6. As for Derek, it's gonna be a while before we see him, but he is mentioned so he's not forgotten. He's an important part of Laci's life and I just have to figure out how to work him into the story.
I don't own anything in this chapter, besides Laci, everything else belongs to their rightful owners.
Chapter 20

After a small homecoming for Kira, they were struck with bad news. More bodies were found in the tunnels. Laci, Scott, Kira, and Stiles all headed to the hospital when they got word. Stiles' dad was there over looking them being brought in. They didn't know a lot of details, but they were going to find out. The four headed off the elevator and found the sheriff standing there. They came to a slow stop as they saw the bodies being wheeled into the morgue.
"Who found them?" Stiles asked.
"Argent." The sheriff told them. "And he said the doctors were down there. He also said you guys might know what this thing is."
Stiles shared a look with Laci. While Scott and Isaac had been out trying to track this thing with no luck, the two had been working on some studying of their own. "We've got a theory. It's a slightly terrifying theory." He told his dad, sparing a glance to Scott quickly.
The sheriff wasn't sure he wanted to know, but with so many new bodies piling up, he didn't really have a choice. He looked over the four teens and sighed. "Well, the ME said that the victims were killed somewhere else and then dumped in those tunnels." He explained, his eyes flickering between the two boys.
"Hey, what if the dread doctors are hiding the bodies?" Scott suggested.
"Why would they do that?" Kira asked.
Stiles shared a look with Laci briefly before looking back at Scott and Kira. "Maybe they're covering for it. Protecting it like a parent would."
"Protecting what?" The sheriff asked.
"A werewolf."
"It's called the Beast." Kira said, looking over at the sheriff.
Laci nodded as she pulled her bag off and pulled out some papers they'd found about the legendary beast. "This is all we could find about it."
The sheriff took the papers, giving them a brief look over. From the look on his face, they knew he didn't like what he was seeing. "We know. Horrifying."
"We better figure out what we're going to call Parrish." The sheriff said. "Because it looks like his dream is coming true."

After their little meeting with the sheriff, it was off to school for them. Isaac was on his way to meet Laci for lunch when he noticed her standing at her locker. She was just staring blankly into her locker, her grip on the door so tight her knuckles turned white. As he crept closer, he noticed her breathing was shallow. "Laci?" He asked as he came up to her.
It wasn't until he was right beside her did he notice her eyes weren't just blank, they were pure white. He looked around quickly to make sure no one else could see this. He could see pain on her face as he took her books from her. He wasn't sure how long this was going to last or how long she'd been here already.
"Laci, come on. You gotta snap out of it before someone sees. Laci, come on." He whispered, cupping her face as he tried to get her to snap out of it.
Another few minutes went by before her eyes went back to normal and focused on him. He looked relieved upon seeing this. "Malia. Something's going to happen to Malia." She said, looking around frightened. "There was another woman there. She was going to kill her."
Isaac looked confused, but he didn't question it. "We'll figure it out. Come on, we're gonna be late for class."
It was her turn to be confused. She needed to find Malia and warn her. If she kept looking for her mother, things were going to end badly for her. She had to warn her, which meant she had to find her first. Art class could wait. "I need to find Malia. Go to class without me." She said, scanning the halls for any sign of her friend.
"She's probably already in class, Lace." Isaac tried to tell her.
Before she could say anything, the loud speaker squeaked as it turned on. "By order of the sheriff, a county wide curfew goes into effect tonight at sundown. All after school activities are canceled until further notice. Students should go directly home at the end of the school day."
Laci grabbed Isaac's arms when she noticed something strange at the end of the hall. "Isaac, look."
He turned his head just in time for two deputies to walk by holding shot guns. Laci looked past them and saw her brother standing there. She closed her locker and took her books from Isaac as she went to meet up with him. "Scott, what is going on?" She asked, whispering as she looked around to make sure no one heard her.
Scott shook his head. "I'm not sure. There's Stiles, come on."
The three headed over to Stiles, who was talking to another deputy. "You don't think this is a bit much in terms of firepower for a high school?"
The deputy didn't seem to like this idea anymore than they did. He obviously wasn't for this plan of action. "Your dad's the one who issued for us to have these things, and he wouldn't officially say why." He said, looking between the four of them.
"Did he say anything unofficially?" Scott asked.
"No. But everyone's got a theory." He told them, his eyes flickering between them again.
"What's yours?"
The deputy wasn't comfortable with sharing that information with them. Laci could tell her wasn't going to tell them anything more than he had already. "I shouldn't be talking to you guys. Don't you have class?" He said, looking around nervously. He didn't want to get in trouble for sharing too much information.
Isaac wrapped an arm around Laci's shoulders. "Actually, now that you mention it . . ."
Laci shrugged off his arm, giving him a look to cut it out. Stiles shot them a look to be quiet before turning back to the deputy in front of them. "Come on, Stauss. What's your theory?" He asked, hoping this guy would give them something to work with.
The deputy paused, glancing over at two more deputies down the hall before leaning in closer to the boys.
"Do you guys believe in the supernatural?"

After school, Isaac went with Scott to follow Liam. The alpha wanted to know what his beta was up to. The two were watching as he went around in a circle a couple of times. Isaac cleared his throat after a few minutes. "So, uh, can I ask you something? It's about Laci." He said, a hint of nervousness in his voice.
Scott looked surprised, before nodding. "Yeah, of course."
He was curious about what Isaac had to ask about. Isaac rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly as they followed Liam. "You think she'd ever go out with me again?" He asked, keeping his voice low on the off chance Liam was listening.
Scott looked taken back by the question. That was definitely not what he was expecting. He looked lost for words as he tried to think of an answer. "I, um, I don't know. I don't think she's ready to date anyone considering everything going on. I don't blame her either." He said, looking around to see if they missed anything.
"Yeah, but she might want to eventually. Once the dust settles, I mean." He said, glancing over at Scott.
Scott felt uncomfortable talking about Laci's love life. It was one thing when Isaac and she were dating. He had to be witness to that grossness, but he didn't feel comfortable talking about her and where she stood concerning Isaac. "Honestly, man, I think she just needs a friend. Something familiar and solid." He said, hoping Isaac understood and left it at that.
Isaac knew Scott was right, but he didn't want to listen. He knew his feelings were clouding his judgment when it came to Laci, they always had before. For Laci's sake though, he could handle just friends. As long as it meant he got to be in her life. "Yeah, um, you're right. I can deal with being just friends." He said, nodding his head as he tried to convince himself.
Scott cleared his throat, glancing over at his friend. "Hey, Isaac?" Isaac lifted his head, looking over. "We're all glad you're back. Especially Laci."
Isaac smiled weakly, nodding his head in thanks. "We should, uh, keep your beta from going in a circle for the sixth time."
Scott nodded, knowing he was right. "Alright, come on."

Hours had gone by since Isaac and Scott went to find Liam. Laci was at the house waiting for everyone to show up. Isaac had texted her what they found out about the beast. Scott called her a while after, asking if she could order dinner because it was going to be a long night with everyone. He wouldn't tell her what was going on exactly, but she knew it was going to be important.
What threw her off, was Scott telling her Braedon was there. Derek's girlfriend. She told Scott not to tell her about her being alive again. She didn't want it getting back to Derek. Not before she was ready to talk to him.
"Everything okay?" Isaac asked when she got off the phone.
Stiles and the others would be here soon and she needed to be ready. Hesitating, she nodded her head and went to looking for a menu. "I hope you're in the mood for pizza. Everyone's coming over soon." She said out as she found the menu she was looking for.
Isaac came out from the other room to look over her shoulder. "You want to tell me what's bothering you? I can hear your heart a mile away."
She tensed, wishing he'd drop it. "It's really nothing, Isaac. I don't want to talk about it. Will you call in the order? I'm gonna go grab a quick shower before everyone gets here."
Isaac looked conflicted before nodding his head. He took the phone from her before she headed upstairs to shower. As she scrubbed off the dirt from the day's adventures, she wondered what would happen if Derek found out she was alive again. Would he come back like Isaac did, or blame her for messing with his second chance at being happy? She didn't know, and that was what worried her the most.
Her shower didn't seem to last long enough because sooner than expected everyone was there standing around the table. They had stuff scattered around it, forgotten pizza boxes sitting on the counter behind them. Scott looked around and was happy to see Malia, Isaac, Kira, Stiles, Liam, and Laci all here. This was his pack. They were just missing one person.
Lydia.
It was time to bring her home. Liam tossed down the Eichen security log onto the table. Under it was the layout for Eichen house itself and some photos of the place. Stiles had nabbed one of the security badges from one of the employees. Laci look impressed by all the work they'd put into this so quickly. She glanced at Scott curiously. "What do we do now?" She asked, looking from her brother to the others around the room.
"Now we get Lydia."
