Chapter 13: Old money
"W-who are you...n-no,who do you belong too? You're a stand!" Dipper mutters as he looks at the leprechaun like being before him. The stand chuckles
"You're very observant kid" the stand starts to stand up and [Maps and Legends] immediately charges with a stand rush
'kakakakakakaka'
The leprechaun stand smirks a bit as he dodges or blocks the attack effortlessly
"Catch" between punches he tosses the coin he was holding towards Dipper.
As it approaches Dipper can see a sun engraved in it.
"A sun-" as he says suddenly the coin bursts into a very bright light forcing him to cover his face
"Gotcha" the stand pulls his fist back and slams it in [maps and Legends] face causing dipper to spit out some blood.
'That really hurt!' he thinks alarmed
"Listen kid if i wanted you dead it wouldn't be very hard right now. But i'm not here to kill you"
"T-then why are you even here? A-and who's your user?" He demanded after getting enough courage to confront him despite being outmatched
"HAHAHAHAHA. You really think i'll just answer that? You have balls kid,well aren't you a mystery solver? Figure that out hahaha" Dipper couldn't figure this "guy" out,by his demeanor he seemed to be honest about not harming dipper but at the same time he just felt intimidated by him.
"As for why i'm here,you peaked my interest boy,I have been watching you ever since you and your noisy twin took down gideon"
"You've been watching me and mabel...why? why are you so interested in us?" Dipper felt worried if he's been watching for so long.
The stand laughs "Wouldn't you wanna know? hehehe...Let's just say my user has deep interest in you two. You two made this run old town more interesting and now i'm curious about it too."
"So you're just watching to see what happens to us? for what purpose?"
"My user has a purpose but he has lost his drive to accomplish it. Maybe you two will shine light upon him" He laughs a bit
"R-right...can you...at least tell me your name. Not of the user,YOUR name,stand"
The stand rubs his metal bearded chin.
"i suppose i should have manners enough for that. call me [Old Money]"
SCENECUT
Mabel and her friends had started the picnic and it just became awkward since it was very clear Melissa didn't care or have no interest in them whatsoever or in what they talked about. Even when they tried talking about something else she would interrupt them to ask about dipper.
"It's been hours,you said he would get here soon" Melissa says clearly annoyed.
"Give him some time,maybe he had something important to do" Candy says,getting annoyed. Melissa lightly glares at her before giving her a friendly smile.
"Well,okay. I just wanted to see him again but i have to go,was very nice to meet you all" She says being all friendly and kind before leaving. The group was just dumbfounded and confused.
"Finally,i could barely stand her anymore. Seriosly what did dipper see in her?" Gideon says then asks semi sarcastically.
"I don't know,what i know is just what he told me,then i told you" Mabel shrugs
"Hey did Dipper tell you why they broke up?" Candy asks,Mabel shakes her head
"No just how they got together and yada yada" She shrugs
'Hmmmm,I think i have a idea why' She thinks to herself as she looks at Melissa leaving.
"Well" Gideon shrugs and sits down grabbing a sandwich from the basket.
"At least she's finally gone and we can actually enjoy the picnic "
"Yeah but now i really can't help but worry a bit. Where is Dipper?" Candy wonders
"Well i haven't seen him today. When i woke up he was already gone so maybe this is worrying" Mabel says really thinking about it
SCENECUT
"So where did all gnomes go? I know a lot of them survived after me and Jeff defeated that fire stand user jockey thing" Dipper has healed some more using leaves around them and was now stabding up after putting soos jacket back.
"All those tiny men with beards and pointy heads? i thought they were hippies or something. Although their leader was really determined in keeping you safe" [Old money] says tossing a coin up and and down.
"Jeff? He tried to keep me safe?" After their last encounter he was surprised he didn't run away
"Yeah,code of honor or something. Anyways he was annoying so i took care of him so i could talk to you"
"You took care of him? You Didn't kill him did you?" He wouldn't be surprised if this stand was able to punch through a person like soos' stand
"Kill him? geez kid hehehe. No,here" He tosses Dipper the coin he was holding, Dipper takes it and looks at it. In the coin jeff's face was engraved on it
"First the light now jeff...Is that your ability? turning things into coins or something?" He asks
The stand shrugs and laughs a bit.
"My time has arrived. Before i go however,keep your eyes open kid,this town isn't what it seems" [Old money] says before disappearing.
Dipper looks at where he was before blinking a few times and looking at the coin. "I wonder what that was about..." He mutters before the coin suddenly shines and turns into jeff.
"Scram you-uh,where he go?" The gnome looks around confused then at dipper.
"Hey you're back up, good to know. hey where did that large leprechaun went? i have to give him a piece of mind!" He says the last part very agressively.
"It wasn't a leprechaun, it was a stand. And he said something interesting..." Dipper says rubbing his chin.
"A stand? He didn't look like a piece of furniture"
"What? Stand is what we call these" He says summoning [ACT II].
"Oh,that makes more sense. I just called mine floating thing" Jeff says summoning [Iron maiden]
Jeff then looks around "Wait where's everyone?"
"Oh the stand said they all scrammed after you were turned into a coin"
Jeff facepalms
"Of course,without a leader they just scurry like rats." He inhales and whistles loudly
Soon all the gnomes come back and jeff berates them.
"Hey jeff,the stand also said you tried to defend me. Is that true?" Dipper wanted to confirm it
"Yes,we did start with the wrong foot but you helped defend my village and save my gnomes. So i'm in your debt kiddo"He says
Dipper smiles a bit "Appreciated,and thanks for helping treat my wounds"
"No problem" Jeff gives a thumbs up
"I'll get going. my family should be getting worried by now" He waves as he leaves
"Take care,oh before you go" Jeff goes up to him and gives him a wooden whistle
"What's this for?" Dipper examines it
"Is a gnome whistle,when you blow it only us will hear it and we'll come to your aid"
"Oh thanks jeff" He says before leaving go to back home
"Man i feel like mabel will chew me out fir this" He rubbed his neck as he walked.
SCENECUT
Melissa walked through town with a ice cream cone on her hand.
"Hours wasted away for nothing. Just when i use my best clothes too" She says to herself as she ate her ice cream.
"Where are you Dipper? i wanted to do such a surprise for you yet you just ditch me by not showing up and making me having to withstand those annoying brats!" she crushes her waffle cone and throws it in the trash.
She takes her phone and looks at it before groaning "I can't even have time to myself in this stupid town"
She goes to a house on the surburbs of Gravity Falls and enters it after unlocking the door. Inside there was fancy furniture and overall just looked like a expensive home.
"You took your sweet damn time" Melissa turns to a corner where a muscular guy her age was holding his broken arm and trying to bandage himself.
"I got caught up,what the hell happened to you?" Despite her tone she kneels down to treat his wounds.
"I was doing pest control on the forest when i was attacked by a scrawny guy and a gnome who had...personas?"
"Stands" Melissa corrects him while bandaging his arm
"Yeah,that. Then when i tried attacking them it just made my armor stop working,was total BS!" He groans in pain
"You call it that,I call it you not thinking before throwing yourself in a fight" She says as he scoffs
"You know me. i got all i need in a fight" He says confidently
Melissa looks at him before slapping his arm making him hiss in pain.
"Ouch what the hell was that for?!" he glares at her
"Was me making a point. This ain't like every other fight you got yourself into doofus,where brute force alone get you out of it. there's way more to it Michael" Although she sounded cold he could tell she was worried for him. He sighs
"I'll keep that in mind when i go back to round two" He clenches his unharmed fist and black smoke comes out of it before Melissa slaps the back of his head
"What now?!"
"Are you so dense? You have a broken arm and you want to go fight again?" she asks dumbfounded
"Look Melissa,I-"
"Must be out of your damn mind!" Both turn at the door
"Uncle Hector" both say as the legless short man in the wheelchair strolls towards them,by his side was a pomeranian dog with a bell on it's collar. Despite not being able to see his eyes they could tell he was angry.
"What did i tell you Michael?!" He hits the arm of his wheelchair
"L-look uncle I-"
"What. Did. I. Tell. You?" He repeats,Michael sighs
"To not use the ghost things recklessly and in the open" Michael says looking down
"And what did you do?" Hector asks
"Used it recklessly and in the open...b-but i have a good reason uncle-"
"Attacking a forest gnome village with fire because you still crush over a girl who dumped you months ago isn't a good reason!"
"But i heard they tried to harass her,I just couldn't let them go away scott free" Michael clenches his fist and grits his teeth
"Yeah and where did that get you boy!" He says loudly and both teens flinch visibly.
"Knocked out with a broken arm and your stand vanishing away. If it wasn't for mr Jingles you could have been dead or worse" Hector says angrily as the pomeranian dog besides him barks in agreement. Michael looks away.
Hector sighs calming himself down a bit,rubbing the bridge of his nose
"You two wanted to come here for the summer,your mother begged me for days on end for me to agree to let you stay here and look after you. I agreed,and I promised that you two would be in good hands through the summer. If she finds out any of you suffered great injuries or He forbids die here,you have any idea how many days on end she would cry and sob blaming herself?" the two teens look down
"You two don't know the mother that you have." He says and lets his words sink in before putting his hand out
"The conductor gems" Both teens look a bit surprised
"What? you're taking them away?" Michael asks
"I gave you two a way to summon your dormant stands and taught how to use them as a way to keep you safer and away from harm. Stands are not plaything,and you showed me you are not ready to wield them so until you prove me otherwise or learn to summon your stands on your own, I will keep the conductor gems " he says,the two teens sigh and give him colorful red and green gems respectively.
"And" he continues
"Until i'm sure you two are responsible enough you will go and work with me at the shop"
"But uncle" both whine
"No buts! Now melissa take your brother to the hospital and make a excuse for his wounds" He says,both groan but stand up and walk out of the house.
Hector sighs and leans back on his wheel chair while petting Mr Jingles. He looks at a picture of when he was younger in a hospital bed with a younger woman besides him full of tears in her eyes.
"Give them a stand she says,it's for their own good she says. I can't say no to you maya" Mr Jingles then jumps off his lap and goes to where Michael was sitting.
"What is it boy?" hector goes closer
Mr Jingles goes back to his lap with a picture on his mouth,Hector looks at the picture
Was a older picture of Michael with his ex girlfriend Mabel Pines. He looks at her then at the picture of his sisters and his nephews when they were younger.
He frowns a bit and points to mabel on the photo "Mr Jingles,fetch" The dog immediately growls as a aura flares around him
