Hello and welcome back! Quick recap: Mario, Luigi, and Peach have set up camp as the first day of their journey comes to an end as they push on to rescue Daisy. This chapter will bring you the wedding scene between Daisy and Tatanga. As far as timelines go, consider this wedding a mid afternoon occurrence, with the banquet (later chapter) beginning around sunset (when Mario, Luigi, and Peach all stopped for a bite while on their journey). Crisani led Daisy and the other attendants to a small parlour room, presumably off of a banquet hall. Tuli carried Daisy's train with care, ensuring it didn't gather any dust or get caught on anything. Crisani gestured to a small ottoman for Daisy to sit. "Are you hungry, love? We've got some snacks to tide you over until the banquet after the wedding." Fiorina carried over a small basket filled with treats: granola bars, little snack packs of trail mix, and fruit. Daisy ripped open a bag of trail mix and snacked while she watched Tuli grab some tumblers out of a cupboard. Crisani grabbed a small bottle from a bar fridge on the ground and poured a glass for each of them.
"Here, hon," she said, handing a glass to Daisy. "Just some sparkling grape juice so we can have a little toast for today." Crisani raised her glass to Daisy. "Here's to our new queen - may you reign happily and with grace, fairness, and charisma." Crisani extended her glass and clinked with each of the other women. Daisy sipped delicately, careful not to spill on her dress.
"What's Tatanga like, as a king?" Daisy asked the room. She was genuinely curious - he seemed respected by his people which had to amount to something. And it didn't seem to be out of fear either, as the people receiving them looked genuinely happy to see their king. "Honestly, he's wonderful!" Fiorina piped up. "He holds a sort of town hall every Thursday, where representatives of each district come and discuss any issues they're having, resources that are short or any laws that need to be looked at. He also oversees the school systems and works closely with the minister of education to set and revise the curriculums as needed. He's pretty beloved, as he keeps this planet safe and allows many freedoms to its patrons. He listens to his people and does his best to accommodate our wants and needs." Daisy nodded slowly, starting to really think differently of Tatanga. The first time around he had kidnapped her and used mind control to turn the rulers of the four kingdoms of Sarasaland against Mario, and he seemed very power hungry. Now he seemed much less so, content to rule what he had, and do so fairly.
Crisani seemed to read her mind. "He's done a lot of growing up over the years. When he first came into rule he was young - he was a little drunk on power and wanted to conquer nearby lands. When several of his missions failed, the last one being his initial trip to Sarasaland years ago, and he came back to find his planet depleted in resources without his guidance, he stopped the escapades. He destroyed his Pagosu, which he used to mind control the leaders of Sarasaland, and turned over a new leaf and ruled with compassion and wisdom. He enlisted trustworthy members of Gulabahaar as ministers of education, the environment, people who oversaw the legal system and protected the residents of this planet, and still do to this day."
"Huh," Daisy said. "He sounds like he has changed quite a lot. I just remember thinking he was kind of cocky when I first met him, but now his confidence seems to come more from a place of self-assurance. It's kind of sexy," she blurted, then her hands flew to her face as she blushed. She couldn't believe she said that! Tuli giggled. "If I'm being honest, Tatanga has a lot of desirable qualities. He's ripped, he's polite, he's poised, and if the rumours we've heard about any of his ex-lovers he's very generous in the bedroom. Your story seems to corroborate those," Tuli nudged her playfully and giggled. Daisy laughed. She could see herself becoming good friends with Tuli. "Oh he sure was! I think I lost count of how many times I orgasmed after like 3." It felt good to have a gal pal to talk about this stuff with. Of course, she was close with Peach, but Peach was pretty shy about this stuff, and it seemed like Mario and her were as vanilla as it got. And Luigi was pretty vanilla himself, not really open to her suggestions or really sheepish with anything they did do. She assumed it was because he really respected her and thought causing her any pain was a big no no, even if she asked for it. I mean come on, is spanking really even that extreme?
Crisani pressed a finger to the headset she was wearing. "How much time?" She paused, waiting for a response. "5 minutes?!" She rolled her eyes. "You could have given us a little more notice, Kat. Oh, well. I'll see you in there in a few, hon. Love you." Crisani removed her finger from the headset. "Well ladies, looks like we only have a few minutes before we're supposed to be in there. Let's do a few last minute touch ups and get moving."
Daisy waited outside of the banquet hall, chatting with Fiorina and Tuli while Crisani rambled away on the headset by the entrance. "So, Tuli," Daisy started. "Who was that mover you were getting cozy with?" Tuli smiled. "Oh, that's my boyfriend Mateol. We met one day when he was doing some work around the palace and we kept bumping into each other that day until he asked me out for a coffee. We've been dating 6 months now" She grinned ear to ear and fiddled with her suit jacket. "It looks like you're quite enamoured with him," Daisy remarked. "Oh I know, it's so embarrassing!" she giggled, covering her face. "No, I think it's sweet!" Daisy assured her.
Crisani approached the group. "Alright, I will walk you in. Fiorina and Tuli are going to go ahead of us." She handed each of them a bouquet, then grabbed a larger one from a cabinet for Daisy. It had an assortment of flowers: her namesake, of course, as well as sunflowers, dahlias, assorted colours of roses and chrysanthemums. Daisy gingerly took the bouquet from her and felt herself tear up. She recalled Tatanga asking her a bunch of questions about herself the first time he had come for her, one of them being what her favourite flowers were. She had assumed at the time he was nervous because he knew Mario was on his way, and was looking for some comfort or something to pass the time, but now she wondered if he was genuinely trying to get to know her. Either way, it was sweet that after all these years he had remembered what her favourites were and arranged them accordingly in her bouquet.
Crisani positioned Tuli at the door, then Fiorina behind her. "I will open the door for you and you'll go slowly as the music plays, then Daisy and I will follow. Got it?" They both nodded. Daisy heard a strings ensemble start to play and her heart started to race. No sign of Mario or Luigi, so this shit was getting pretty real. At the very least, if no one interrupted the wedding, she would be able to have it annulled when she got back to Earth along with Sarasaland. For the Sarasaland royals, they could get a marriage annulled pretty easily if it occurred outside of the four Kingdoms and/or with someone who wasn't a member of a Sarasa royal family or other allied royal family. At the very least, she'd get a taste of being queen for a few days, and enjoy some excellent sex.
Crisani held the door open, and Tuli and Fiorina glided through, slowly moving down the carpeted aisle. Crisani kicked in the door stop so it stayed open, and grabbed Daisy's arm. "We're goinnnggg... now." She took a step and Daisy followed suit, walking slowly and smiling at everyone in attendance. It appeared that these people were likely high ranking members of government and other royals, not just all of the planetary residents. She did notice a camera though, likely streaming the royal wedding. She looked up and saw Tatanga in a suit up at the stage of the hall with Katsini, presumably the minister for this wedding. He was beaming at her, tears in his eyes and hands folded in front of him. Damn, he looked good in a suit. Daisy beamed back at him, remembering the flowers he had picked just for her. If Luigi and Mario didn't come rescue her right away, that would be okay. She could handle being pampered by her new husband for a few days.
She got up to the platform where Tatanga was and Crisani let her arm go, going to join Tuli and Fiorina. Daisy stood in front of him and looked up at his face, completely engulfed in sheer joy. "You look beautiful, my love," he said softly, reaching up to run a finger down the side of her face. She leaned into it, pressing his hand to her face and smiling up at him. Katsini addressed the crowd, but Daisy tuned out, completely lost in Tatanga's gaze. It was hard to tear herself away; his face was so full of emotion. Katsini leaned in and addressed Daisy. "Princess Daisy, do you take Lord Tatanga as your lawfully wedded husband?" She nodded, maintaining eye contact with Tatanga. "I do." His smile grew wider somehow upon hearing her words. Katsini turned to him. "Lord Tatanga, do you take Princess Daisy as your lawfully wedded wife?" He nodded. "Oh, I do." Tatanga grabbed her hands and held them in his own. "Then by the powers vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife, King and Queen of Gulabahaar!"
The hall erupted in cheers and Tatanga leaned in to kiss her. She reached up to cup his face as she kissed him back. He broke the kiss first and pressed his forehead to hers, his eyes closed as he let himself be in the moment. He turned back toward the crowd and raised Daisy's hand up with his own, eliciting louder cheers from the crowd. They walked back down the aisle together, followed by the attendants and Katsini. They got back out to the foyer by the parlour room Daisy had been in just a short time ago and Crisani turned to address them all. "Alright, the guests are being ushered into the reception room off the main banquet hall while our staff moves the pews aside and sets up the tables. The palace chefs are already on dinner and by the time the tables are all set up dinner should be done. In the meantime, I and the other attendants and Katsini are going to help where we can," she concluded.
"Can we help with anything?" Daisy asked cheerfully. Crisani smiled kindly at her. "Honey, you just got married! This is your day. You and Tatanga can just have some time together in the parlour room while we set up. Should only be half an hour or so!" She whisked away Katsini and the other attendants.
Tatanga turned to her and offered an arm. "Shall we relax in the parlour, my Queen?" She smiled at him and took his hand. "I think we shall."
