RAISING DESTINY

Chapter 2

The rising morning sun slowly began to peek over the glowing morning horizon of the land. Its life-giving light and soul soothing warmth stretching across far and wide land shedding light over the lush green wilderness with a mist blanket covering the ground and revealing the glittering sparkles the of morning dew sleeping on the blades of long grass of the open plains and the leaves of the thick trees and bushes. There was a far-off cluster of clouds that retreated into the western wind. They began to turn into shades of pink and orange shades of the morning sun that was still climbing into the sky. Birds chirped as they had been singing long before the sun rose over the lands and singing there sweet morning melody.

Along with their songs came the sounds of dragons spread all throughout the land in the brisk clouded sky, the wet morning ground, and even the sparkling bodied waters of lakes, rivers, and the sea. Not just the regular type of Dragon, there were also Drakes, Wyrms, Wyverns, Lindwrums, and Amphipteres that roamed the ground, sky, and waters all around the island. For these dragons were different from other Equestrian dragons. This land was known, to these dragons, as the Land of Draco. Dragons that lived in very strange and unusual places. Some lived in trees like birds, some lived in hard rocky areas such as cracks of cliffs or in the ground digging like moles as a way to roam around, some dragons lived in mud or even quicksand, and even some lived in the magma of volcanoes. Those were just a small group of the types of dragons living in strange environments of the land.

This was a haven for all races of dragons to live in one group. Here they thrived and lived in peace for longer than any of them could live to remember. Dragons of this land lived as a clan being related to each other in some ways. They would only leave the clan if they wished to find a mate and would choose to either live in the clan of where they came from or choose to live out on their own. But they would always visit the lands of their clan every so often when they could. But many dragons choose to return to this land for its safety and seclusion from the rest of the world.

Although, every so often, they would have to defend their land from invading magical dragons that wished to take this land to consume its rich resources. Mostly everyone knew what became of lands these types of magical dragons ruled over. The land they claimed became lifeless, scorched, and covered in smoke and ash. Rarely, do these magical dragons wage war against the Land of Draco. It takes a few months or more for them to try and gather their forces, but they only get as far as the volcanic shores where the dragons in this land hold them off. As for other events, there is the annual dragon trials. Each one is held at the end of each year when young dragons all become a certain age to attend it. Different races are given different tests due to their abilities of their specie. To fully become part of the clan, they must complete all they are taught of their specie's abilities in the trials to be a part of the clan. The trials could last for months, but these dragons could stay awake for weeks before having to sleep and go without food if they wanted. This helped them prepare for the trials during the event if they wanted to train all day and night without tire. So, it was not often one would catch one of these dragons napping. But for Scalefang, this changed.

Now that he had a new son that required a lot of sleep due to what he was, he slept with the infant to pass the time until it woke up. The elder dragon had consulted with Draco and commanded that the pegasus foal could stay among them. This shocked the dragons about why such a tiny speck of a weaker creature could stay as one of them. The elder dragon had reminded them that if Draco deemed the foal worthy, then there was a plan Draco had for it and they would have to accept it. With that, Scalefang was able to keep the foal as his new son. Whether other dragons had to respect the foal was up to them. Still, the foal needed to earn respect from others by his own deeds after when he was old enough to be up for the task. Scalefang would have to keep the foal away from the other dragons. It would be very dangerous for the foal to be around other dragons when he was so small and weak. He could be smashed, burned, or be mistaken for food. For now, Scalefang had kept his son in a cave near the forest and plains where neither dragon or predator would try to pick Dragonbond off as its meal. Scalefang would mark the territory around the area to ward off any predator from coming anywhere near him and his son. This had worked as he saw large birds and animals turn away from ever coming close to the cave. This would mean his son was safe for now if he stayed in the cave and by Scalefang's side.

Scalefang was adjusting to sleeping every night, with his new son Dragonbond, as he would sleep every night on Scalefang's head between his dragon father's brows. Scalefang felt the bond with his son grow as the days passed. Dragonbond would wake up when his father would as if he could sense it. Every time he did, Dragonbond would greet his father with squeals and laughter by looking into his eyes wishing to play. He did this by either rolling around or stomping his short tiny fore legs. Scalefang would do so, but only by using his talons for Dragonbond to start biting and wrestling with them. Scalefang was glad to see his son have such a fighting spirit to be ferocious as a way of having fun. Scalefang would even make it a little difficult by slightly pushing Dragonbond off his talons for the foal to charge right back at his talons to fight with them. When Dragonbond had been pushed off several times, he then fell to lie on the ground with ears bent down in hopelessness as he began to feel he would never win. When Scalefang saw this, he gave a low growl and waved his talons in front of Dragonbond to let him know to attack again. Dragonbond looked up at Scalefang unsure about it still feeling the fight was over, but Scalefang gently nudged his back to move him towards his talons. With the morale support of his dragon father, Dragonbond would then get back up, his ears folded back in an aggressive position and attacked Scalefang's talons again. Scalefang wished to teach his son not to give up a fight. To teach him determination and endurance is a value a warrior should have. This would be the best age of the foal to start instilling in him these values of a warrior. Scalefang wanted to push out any weakness of pony instinct in him and replace it with the instinct of a dragon. This would only be a fraction of a start on the road ahead.

Then the time came for Dragonbond to eat his meals. Of course, Scalefang was against feeding him just soft vegetables and fruits, so he would take a fish and squeeze a small amount of the juices onto the vegetables to help Dragonbond start growing a liking to some sort of meat. He hoped this would take affect soon so Dragonbond could start eating fish and move onto other meats. He didn't rush it so not to risk Dragonbond getting sick from forcing him to eat something he wasn't ready for. His appetite had to adjust first to the flavor and nutrients of the fish before he could start eating a whole fish for himself. Scalefang also knew he had to give Dragonbond milk as well to help him grow. Since Dragonbond was a mammal, he needed milk from one. Dragons did not produce milk like mammals did, he had to get milk from yaks, cows, or goats to feed to Dragonbond. Since there were no bottles, Scalefang had to serve the milk in a carved-out bowl made of rock. Scalefang had to adjust the bowl after Dragonbond tried to lean on it to reach in to drink the milk only to have it turn over on him and soaked him from the head down or have Dragonbond slip into the bowl and getting stuck inside. One would think an infant would start crying from getting wet, but Dragonbond only started licking whatever milk trickled near his mouth and then would coo and laugh and start splashing in the milk. Dragonbond even started playing peek-a-boo with Scalefang by lifting the bowl over his head to push it up and down to cover his eyes before revealing himself to his dragon father saying "Bah!". He could only say that word as it naturally came to his mind for something to say. Dragonbond would squeal a laugh at Scalefang every time he lifted the bowl up over his eyes and giggle when he covered them again. Scalefang finally gave into the foal's little games and would make a low bark at Dragonbond when he lifted the bowl up. Dragonbond would then squeal loudly in excitement before laughing and covering his face again with the bowl. This went on for a while with the foal never growing tired of doing it over again. This was another hint to Scalefang telling him this would be another trait of Dragonbond's. He would become very playful when he would grow up. Something that could be good for a balance of character from always having to being serious all the time. A dragon's life is a serious one and just as stressful. Having a playful side could help balance out his emotions and mental state in his life. He also hoped some of that playfulness would revolve around mostly fighting.

Scalefang had to move from the volcanic shores where he made his home cave. Dragonbond was too vulnerable to the heat so he had to move to a cooler area near a pond by the woodlands. The shores also held many dangers such as rip tides and flocks of fowl predators. It would also get very cold on the coast and could have a risk of giving Dragonbond hypothermia. Moving more inland was a safer choice for its warmer temperatures, lack of hazards, and solitude. There had been many times where Dragonbond would nearly escape outside the cave every chance he got. Scalefang found it quite the task as the small adventurous foal nearly slipped outside. For being so small the foals seemed surprisingly fast even when he could only crawl. But when Scalefang growled from being frustrated with his attempts to escape, Dragonbond would cringe before fearfully crawling back whimpering with his ears bent back in fear of his father's anger. But Scalefang would soften up when Dragonbond would cling to his talon in a way of saying he was sorry for making him angry. After that, Dragonbond would stop from leaving the cave, until the next day.

Then there were times Dragonbond needed to take a bath. It wasn't hard to get him into a pool of water to wash him, but for a bath, Scalefang would have to take him outside to find a small pool to place him in and that is where all the trouble begins. Scalefang had to resort having two types of baths for him. His first time would be in a small stream that barely reached halfway up his hooves when he would sit down in the water. This was so he wouldn't accidentally drown if he fell. However, this didn't stop him from getting into mischief. Dragonbond would then feel the mud under the pebbled layer of the stream's floor. He would start digging underneath the mud and start playing in it making his bath counterproductive. Dragonbond would start throwing, painting, and eating the mud. Then he would roll around in it making the mud spread all over him more. Scalefang would have to make a small stone bowl for a second bath after his first one made him even more dirty. Scalefang did enjoy seeing Dragonbond have a lot of fun getting dirty. He found this as character building. So, he would give him both types of baths. One in the stream and then in the bowl. He may have been a bit anxious having to wait for Dragonbond to grow up and become tougher than he was now, but he began to cherish these small moments of Dragonbond doing things despite his small and feeble stature. He would think Dragonbond was cute as a pony infant, but he had too much pride to admit it out loud or even to himself. But actions spoke louder than words when Scalefang looked forward to giving Dragonbond a bath and even play with the mud along with Dragonbond. Scalefang was thankful he was a giant compared to the foal. Dragonbond would also throw mud around at Scalefang, but only Scalefang's talons would get hit by the small tosses and splatters. But what disturbed him was when he saw Dragonbond find and eat an earth worm. He hoped it, at least, offered nutrients.

Eating the worms made Scalefang end the first bath and every other time. If he was lucky, Scalefang would catch the worm before Dragonbond would have a chance to swallow it and then he would end that bath as well. For his second bath, Scalefang used a large, partly flat, bowl-shaped stone he carved out himself. With it, he filled it up with water and then the real washing would begin by scooping some water from a larger bowl of water with his hand and lightly pour it on Dragonbond. Dragonbond would laugh and giggle as the water dripped down on him and fell on his back for the water to sprinkle over him. Scalefang would use his heated breath to warm up the water before pouring it on Dragonbond so it would not be so cold and get him sick. Even when the bath was done, Dragonbond still wanted more time to play in the water. Scalefang would take him out so not to get his skin all wrinkled. Since there were no cloths to be used like normal pony folk would use and dragons used their own bodies to dry themselves off, Scalefang would use his breath to blow hot air at Dragonbond to air dry him. Scalefang would blow the air from over Dragonbond instead from the side in case he would accidently blow him away. When it was over, Dragonbond's mane and tail puffed out like fluffy cotton. This gave Scalefang a bit of a chuckle and his chuckle made Dragonbond laugh as well just because he saw his dragon father was laughing. Scalefang then fixed it by using a bit of water to wet and stroke his mane and tail out to its original look. That was how they always would spend their bath time together.

After a month, Scalefang had once again served Dragonbond his daily meal of vegetables and milk. He would then have a pile of fish for himself to eat. Just before Scalefang was about to eat his pile of fish, he heard Dragonbond squeal over at him. Scalefang would see Dragonbond staring at the pile of fish without even touching his own food. Scalefang would push Dragonbond's food closer to him for him to eat. Dragonbond then leaned over to take a sniff from it and make a yakking sound before pushing the vegetables away. Scalefang began to think Dragonbond was acting stubborn to eat his food or that Dragonbond was starting to dislike the smell of fish on the vegetables or its taste. That was until he saw Dragonbond crawling back to his fish pile making happy garbling sounds. This interested Scalefang as he watched the foal crawl over to the fish pile and bite one by the tailfin and pull it out from the pile. Dragonbond then sat in front of the fish, after putting it down, to take a bite out of it. It was in vain when he still didn't have any teeth to bite through the skin with. Still, that didn't stop him from continuing to try as he bit down as hard as he could and tried yanking it from side to side.

Scalefang then decided to help him out by using one of his sharp talons to carve out a small piece of the fish. Dragonbond cooed as if he had discovered the secret to eating a fish. He then bit the piece that was cut out for him and started to chew on it. At first, he only chewed on it to squeeze the juice of the fish with his gum filled mouth and then after that, he would swallow the whole thing after he chewed on it enough until it was easier to swallow without choking him. As Scalefang was about to eat from his pile, Dragonbond had opened his mouth making an "ah" sound and wishing his father dragon to cut out another piece. Sighing from having his meal stalled, he once again cut out a small piece for Dragonbond to start chewing on it before swallowing again. Making squishing sounds as he squeezed the juices from the fish meat that he had grown to savor with every drop and even licking his lips to get every taste on his mouth. Just as Scalefang was about to turn back, he heard Dragonbond make more sounds of wanting another piece of fish, but this time pointing his hoof towards his open mouth. This time, Scalefang started cutting the fish in many small pieces. Dragonbond cooed curiously in wonder seeing Scalefang cutting the fish into pieces. When he was finished, Scalefang went back to start eating his pile of fish. He was glad Dragonbond started to eat fish at least. The fish would have good nutrition for his mind to help him learn faster as he grew up. Scalefang had continued to eat his fish pile as Dragonbond ate his own piece by piece. After a while as Scalefang was down to a small pile of fish, he saw one of the fishes start to move in his pile. He thought perhaps one fish had one last breath of life. The fish started moving through the pile of fish as if it were swimming through them. Scalefang grew curious about this strange dead fish, so he watched it move to see what made this fish move. That was until the fish reached the end of the pile and Dragonbond came out biting the underside of the head of the fish to pull it out onto the floor. Scalefang looked back to see the other fish Dragonbond had was just now all bones. Dragonbond had eaten his first fish rather quickly and was now craving another one. Scalefang was surprised at Dragonbond's appetite that it might have now been bigger than he was. At least now he knew eating more fish would be better for him. Also, for Dragonbond to sneak into Scalefang's pile of fish, without him even knowing, surprised Scalefang to see how he was able to use stealth at such a young age. Dragonbond was starting to learn fast now and Scalefang wanted to see how fast.

"Father." He said to Dragonbond. Dragonbond's ears perked up as he gave a curious noise as his head tilted wondering what Scalefang was saying. "Father." He repeated to Dragonbond trying his best to teach the foal to mimic his words. Although, it would be difficult to teach the foal how to mimic the movements of his words by mouth. Dragons had the usual long snout while a pony had a small muzzle. For now, Scalefang had to rely on sounding out words as he spoke them. "Fa-ther"

Dragonbond stared at Scalefang with his red eyes. Curious about the word his dragon father was speaking to him, he wanted to try to do as his dragon father did. "Pha… Pha…" Dragonbond began to say. It was certain that Dragonbond could now begin to understand and speak, even though it had been less than a few months since he was adopted. Dragonbond still had no teeth to make an "F" sound properly, but he was smart enough to blow through his lips to make an alternate sound.

"Fa-ther." Scalefang emphasize on the word to have Dragonbond understand it better. He figured Dragonbond was starting to understand what he was trying to do by repeating a word to him, so it would be best to try and push Dragonbond to learn to start talking and understanding certain words. Such as having Dragonbond know what to call him.

"phhh… phhhh… Pha… bah." Dragonbond started to say. "Pha… bah… Pha-bah. Pha-bah. Pha-bah." He continued to try and speak the same word. His mouth was not developed enough to say father correctly, but this was the closest it would ever get. "Pha-bah, pha-bah." He said again laughing and clapping his hooves feeling he got it right. Dragonbond started crawling in circles saying his new word repeatedly as Scalefang watched him do what he wanted at the same time making sure he didn't wander outside. After a while, Scalefang saw him stop and sit facing the outside of the cave. At first, Scalefang thought either he was getting tired of attempting to make another break to go outside or trying to think of a way to sneak out. Then he realized he was just staring outside the cave entrance. His tail swished back and forth as he continued to stare. It seemed the foal learned that his father didn't want him to go outside, but he still sat there wishing he could. Scalefang took pride to see how fast his new son was learning and already showing respect towards him. Scalefang then made a low bark to get the foal's attention. Dragonbond turned to his father making a small whimper while pointing outside. Scalefang then knew that the foal wished to go out. He could see in the foal's eye that he wished to explore and brave the outside world. Dragonbond could see the vast green wilderness of grasslands and forests with the distant ice cap mountains out of the cave's entrance. It was like Dragonbond could hear it calling to him. He wanted to go with every fiber of his body, but he still obeyed his dragon father by not leaving the cave on his own.

"Pha-bah?" Dragonbond said as a way of asking if he could go outside. Scalefang sighed as he got up and lowered his snout down for Dragonbond as he once again struggled to crawl up on his snout. As always, Dragonbond bit on his snout to try to hold himself up while trying to get his hind legs to kick himself up on top. Scalefang then used his tail to push Dragonbond the rest of the way as he scurried up on top. Dragonbond then turned around with a glare at Scalefang's tail and made a small growl at it. It seemed he wanted to try to get up on his own and was upset that he got help from the tail. Scalefang couldn't help but grin at his son's behavior. This was another hint that his son was going to be proud and stubborn about wanting to do things on his own. Such was a trait Scalefang was hoping for in his son. Scalefang then rose up and started to head outside. Dragonbond giggled and squealed enjoying riding on his father's snout. His wings fluttered in excitement from feeling the breeze of the outside air when they exited the cave. Dragonbond cooed in awe at the full sight of the outside world. Dragonbond raised his hooves in the air trying to grasp the sky as he stared up at the passing of white cotton clouds drifting high in the sky and the shining warming rays of the sun that broke through the gaps of the clouds. He marveled at them seeing the tops of mountains disappearing into them as the clouds drifted into them, swallowing them whole. He them noticed the sounds of brushing leaves in the swaying trees by the wind's gentle breeze. When they walked under one of the trees, the sun light looked like lights sparkling off and on in the trees when the leaves in the branches moved, opened, and closed gaps revealing the bright sky above where the sun shined brightly. Then there was the rushing currents of the rivers and streams that traveled through the land from the high mountains to the blue seas. Dragonbond saw one nearby stream run calmly across the ground and seeing flying insects flying above the water and small fish swim under it. But for now, Scalefang would only allow him to play in the grassy meadow. He dropped Dragonbond off on some cool long grass as he almost vanished as his fur coat was the same color as the lush green grass. The only way he was still visible was by the bright color of his red mane and tail. Dragonbond giggled and laughed as he rolled around in the grass. Some grass still had some dew on it that fell on Dragonbond's nose. It tickled his nose making him wrinkle his muzzle before taking a few short breaths before sneezing the dew off his muzzle. Dragonbond began to crawl around stomping his hooves as if he were a giant beast as he garbled and growled. Scalefang just observed his behavior as he acted the way he did. He was surprised to see him acting how most normal dragon younglings acted. Perhaps it was all the times he had Dragonbond wrestle with his talons and how Dragonbond watched him act as a dragon and wished to become like his dragon father. Dragonbond began playing with any insects he found by acting like a large hunter stalking his prey. The most fun he was having was knocking over pill bugs to watch them roll into a ball before opening again to watch them turn themselves right side up again. Whenever they did roll into a ball, Dragonbond would lightly tap it around like a tiny ball to play with.

Then there was a small rustling in the grass behind Dragonbond. He turned his attention to the source and out from the long grass came a turtle. Dragonbond instantly grew curious of his first wildlife interaction. He then crawled over to the spooked turtle that accidentally found its way to a full-grown dragon and a foal. It decided to hide in its shell as Dragonbond came close to it and started to circle around and sniff it. Since it mostly lived in water, to Dragonbond, it smelled like fish. He then crawled on top of the shell and sat on top. He felt he had caught his prey when it didn't move and started to try to bite it. He was only biting on the hard shell with his gum filled mouth. Thinking he would find a weak spot, or the shell would break from all his biting, he kept his persistence. He even sat up to try stomping his fore legs on the shell to try breaking through. Unfortunately, Dragonbond's persistence led his biting near the head of the turtle. Seeing its chance, the turtle snapped on Dragonbond's nose making him yelp and shake his head violently until the turtle let go and was tossed to the side. Scalefang allowed this to happen to teach his son about life's turn of events. Like every other dragon, they were raised to do things if it wasn't life threatening, even if it meant that they would get a small injury from it. The lesson would forever be ingrained in their minds to learn never to make that mistake again.

It was until when he saw Dragonbond start to cry and crawl as fast as he could to him, clinging for safety on his dragon father, Scalefang felt something he had not felt for a long time. Seeing the turtle turn up right again after being tossed on its back and begin to leave, Scalefang grew furious seeing this intruder and assailant retreat with its victory of harming his son. With a powerful fist, Scalefang crushed the small reptile into a splattered mess with a thunderous slamming fist to the ground. For a moment, he had forgotten how fragile Dragonbond still was. He then scooped him up and placed him high above the ground on his snout. Dragonbond was still curled up whimpering from the pain on his nose. He tried wiping it to try and lessen the pain. Scalefang was surprised with himself for feeling this sense of protection over his son. At first, having Dragonbond as a son was just about molding him and teaching him the ways to become a dragon. He did not however, plan to show any type of deep nurturing care or close attachment to the pegasus foal. Dragonbond then looked up from his curled position into Scalefang's eyes. His eyes still watered and full of fear and sadness. "Pha-bah?" Dragonbond spoke as if to ask what he did wrong.

Scalefang decided to give his son comfort even if he couldn't understand him yet. "Life is full of pain. There is no avoiding it. Pain emotionally and physically. We will make mistakes, but through that pain we can learn from it to better ourselves and become stronger. Remember my son, never let pain consume you. You will never grow if you do not push through the pain you will encounter."

Even though he had no idea what his words meant, Dragonbond just took pleasure in hearing his dragon father talk to him in his tone of voice. With his nose still red, Dragonbond didn't mind the pain anymore now that his dragon father was there to comfort him. He started to laugh and babbled again crawling on his dragon father's snout. Dragonbond crawled back to his favorite spot between Scalefang's brows. He started nibbling on his scales as a way of showing his affection to his father. Scalefang couldn't help from having a smirk appear on his face. Scalefang was surprised in himself to feel somehow complete with this Pegasus infant. It was not of his flesh and blood or even his kind, but he felt their bond becoming stronger as a true father and son. He would keep his word to be his protector and guide, but most of all, his father.

It had been a long day for Dragonbond. He spent most of his energy and now that he was in his favorite spot, he began to yawn and feel his eye lids droop. He would then crawl into a circle and lie down and drift silently and peacefully to sleep on Scalefang. Scalefang decided to rest outside with Dragonbond on top of his snout. The outside air and sounds of nature became like a natural lullaby to put his son in a deep sleep. The gentle sounds of the breeze through the trees, the calming chirps of birds, the light touch of the wind petting him, and the light heat of the sun soothed his body to a sense of peace. But later in the years, Dragonbond would adapt to staying up longer and longer. Then Dragonbond would be a handful to take care of if his spirit for exploration and adventure grew faster than he did. Scalefang hoped that Dragonbond would learn to respect his father's rules when he would go off to do something. For now, he would cherish these moments of bonding with his new son and dream of his future with what Draco might have in store for him.

There were even some nights where Dragonbond had trouble sleeping. The sounds of night with howling wolves and the eerie sound of chirping crickets that filled the night outside the cave made him nervous. One of those nights, Scalefang fixed it by telling him his first bedtime story. One of his own adventures of either hunting, scouting, or just exploring the world. Dragonbond may not have understood most of every word, but he just felt comfort from listening to his dragon father's voice. Dragonbond would sit on his favorite spot on Scalefang's snout and listen to his dragon father tell his stories all throughout the night. Scalefang used certain tones in his voice to make parts sound serious, exciting, or dangerous. Dragonbond would start reacting to some of these tones in his voice to show shock, fear, or happiness from how the story ended. Most times, Dragonbond fell to sleep when Scalefang got halfway through his story.

Scalefang never had stories to run out of after living for over hundreds of years. For a dragon, there was always a different adventure for every day. Not just lying around all day or just eating. Most of the day, they searched for things to explore, find treasure, have one-on-one fights with great beasts, or fight in great battles, and all kinds of activities, they learned as much as they could from them to grow in knowledge and skill. They didn't live like other species that had small jobs and daily chores to do or creatures that just lived to eat and sleep. These dragons gave themselves a bigger purpose than living a normal day by day routine.

This island provided them what they needed through the natural order of nature. They just had to be careful not to consume all the land's resources and leave some of it to replenish itself. The rest of the day for them was up for them to decide on how to live it. Night had no end of activities for them either. Many things could happen or be discovered in the darkness of night. They could see even better in the dark than they could in the day. Since a dragon had three weeks to stay up before needing sleep, they could spend doing an activity for days. If they did choose to sleep before the third week, it would be because they just wanted a bit of peace of mind, body, and soul.

Scalefang looked to Dragonbond as he slept and knew one day he would come to stay awake for three weeks as well. He knew he would start being able to stay awake more and more as the days and months passed. It was inevitable to say the least. When that day came, there would be many things Scalefang would do to give his son knowledge and wisdom about the world around and outside the island. This was something he would be counting down until it happened.

SECOND CHAPTER DONE. SORRY IT TAKES SO LONG. POST A REVIEW ABOUT HOW THIS CHAPTER WENT AND IF IT WAS GOOD ENOUGH. I KNOW IT WON'T BE A WRITER'S MASTERPEICE FOR REVIEWS OF HIGH PRAISE, BUT I JUST WANT TO KNOW IF IT WAS AVERAGE OR A LITTLE BIT ABOVE AVERAGE AND HOW I CAN TRY TO MAKE IT BETTER.
