Chapter 30

TSI-Silver Blade, En Route to Terra 2230 a.t.b.

Tamaki opened his mouth, "hello everyone it's been awhile."

"What the hell is going on Tamaki!?" Ohgi practically screamed. "Where are we?"

"And what's with the uniform?" added Kallen.

Tamaki sighed, "you are aboard my ship the Silver Blade, you have all been missing since the Battle of Mt Fuji in 2019. The uniform I am wearing, is the uniform of my rank as Grand Marshal of the Black Knights."

"Grand Marshal?" Li Xingke took the moment to speak. "No such rank exists in the Black Knights."

"When you were in command that was indeed true commander," replied Tamaki coolly. "But that is no longer the case."

Before anyone could retort Kaguya leaned forward in her bed, which itself was not easy as her legs remained strapped to the bed, and she asked, "Tamaki, what happened after we "disappeared?"

Now Tamaki smiled, "ah yes the real question that I was waiting for you all to ask. What happened after you left. Hehe, oh my, what happened after you vanished from the battlefield, was absolute chaos. In one twist of fate or happenstance, every government was more or less decapitated."

"You mean we killed Lelouch?" asked Kallen quickly.

"Yeah," Ohgi smiled, "I managed to shoot him before everything went dark. He must have bled out."

"We won in sacrifice," muttered Suzaku and a ghost of a smile start to pry at his lips.

Many of the others present broke out in grins and a few laughed, namely Diethard and Nagisa Chiba. However, Todoh and a number of others did not celebrate but kept their eyes on the Grand Marshal who stood there silent.

"I did not say that," interrupted Tamaki, and the impromptu celebration. "He did not die, he did fall into a coma, but he did not die. In fact, thanks to his injuries it was discovered that his father had actually given his son something. A Code."

Eyes widened at this as the truth of Geass had been the basis of the betrayal of their former leader. Now the realization that that person was in fact immortal had been told to them as if it was a well-known fact. Tamaki continued, "Yes, dear Lelouch became immortal."

Kaguya's grip on her sheets tightened, "what happened to the UFN?"

Tamaki nodded, "it did not fair well, especially after the R-records were released."

At this Diethard practically jumped in his restraints, the others noticed, and the man answered the unasked question, "the R-Records was all the information I had collected on Lelouch and his Geass power. Every scrap of information I could get my hands on, including the info that was made available after we allied with Scheizel. I had it set up so that if we somehow lost at Mt. Fuji it would all go public and turn the world against Lelouch."

"Well sir I can tell you that it did not," replied Tamaki his voice laced barely concealed contempt. "What it did do was bring a new set of support to the Emperor."

"Wha…wha..how?" stuttered Diethard as though he could not believe that his plan could backfire.

Still smiling Tamaki replied, "well in releasing so much information on Geass Mr. Diethard you brought the Sword of Akasha into the public's view. People did research and figured out the weapon it was. Don't get me wrong people did not jump into Lelouch's service, but it did disway thoughts that he was a tyrant. I mean really, figuring out that the previous emperor was intending to destroy the world and the current monarch was the one to stop him., kinda hard to think of him as a villain isn't it?"

Diethard's mouth hung gaping as he starred ahead trying to comprehend what he had heard. Kaguya then interrupted, "what does this have to do with the UFN?"

"Well, when the people found out that Lelouch was Zero and that it had been announced that Zero was killed in battle, people put two and two together," replied Tamaki. "Having the basic father of a nation be betrayed by his own doesn't usually go over well with people. It was just enough for me to gain control of the Black Knights before Sawasaki had them dissolved."

"Sawasaki? What does he have to do with anything," Kaguya questioned concerned.

"In the chaos of the time he stepped into the UFN and succeeded in being elected to the chairman's seat," Tamaki explained. "He dissolved the Black Knights as the armed forces of the UFN and reinstated many of the units back into the original Federation army. I managed to keep a good portion of us together, we then used the confusion to wrestle Japan away from the UFN, and Britannia had withdrawn from Japan by that time as well."

"Wait, wasn't Sawasaki imprisoned by the Britannians?" asked Zhou Xianglin. The Chinese officer's concern started to show through as she also asked, "And how did he get control of the UFN?"

"He was yes, but it was found that the Knight of one Bismark released him as his own backup plan to destroy Lelouch," Tamaki sneered. "The bastard gave Sawasaki a Geass Artifact and he used it and his political know-how to reinstate a centralized dictatorship in the UFN. Much like how the old Chinese Federation was. And I might also add, he helped instate Napoleon Machavel into power in the newly reformed European Union."

"Geass," muttered Todoh unheard by the room.

"Machavel?" asked Kaguya. "That political nobody, he was only a co-senator when the UFN was formed, a glorified clerk in practice."

"True," Tamaki conceded. "But he apparently knew what buttons to push and he wound up on Sawasaki's good list and was awarded with UFN aid in re-invigorating the EU, with him in control." Tamaki sighed as he knew what he was about to say, "Ultimately after Lelouch woke up I and the Black Knight Council had to give him a request for the re-annexation of Japan into the Britannian empire."

This got everyone's attention and accusations began flying until Tamaki raised his hand, "it was the only way, Sawasaki was pressuring me and Japan, it was either join Lelouch in the hopes of taking down Sawasaki or becoming slaves to that mad man."

"Yet you chose a mad man," Ohgi practically screamed.

"Who used us!" Nagisa yelled. "Turned us into slaves with that damned power of his!"

At this Tamaki reached into one of his pockets and withdrew a small cylinder and held It up. The people in the room eyed the device, Tamaki then explained, "this is a Geass Canceller, it is basically and anti-geass as it reverses the effects of any geass."

Tamaki then thumbed the device and the top extended upwards and emitted a blue flash of light that bathed the room. Deactivating the device Tamaki looked the around the room, and asked, "does anyone have any memories that they'd like to share?"

"What are you talking about Tamaki," Ohgi asked confused.

Turning Tamaki explained, "Geasses like Lelouch's will erase any memory of the act from the victims mind. Meaning if a person was geassed they wouldn't know they had been."

"Shinjuku," said Villetta speaking up. "He was the boy in the warehouse in Shinjuku."

"What?" asked Ohgi.

Kallen then perked up, "he asked me who I was."

"Wha..What's going on?" Ohgi asked.

"They are remembering when Lelouch Geassed them," Tamaki said.

"But I don't remember any….." Ohgi trailed off as his eyes widened.

"You don't remember anything new do you Ohgi," Tamaki turned. "Does anyone else remember Lelouch ever using his Geass to enslave any of us to his will."

Eyes widened all around, Tamaki smiled again, "that's right everyone, the betrayal, was based on a lie." He then looked up at Schneizel, "and we still ended up following a madman. Isn't that right Schneizel?"

Everyone turned to look at Schneizel who kept a pleasant smile on his face as though everything that had been spoken so far was of no consequence to him. The prince looked up, "is it a madman who offers peace?"

"Peace at what price?" countered Tamaki. "I'll tell you all the price that this man wanted for peace! He wanted the world as his slaves! Does no one realize that the Damocles was built with such speed, that the FLEIJA's were made at such speed and that he was the only person who had ANY access to them?"

"The FLEIJAs went into production as soon as the prototype was successfully tested," said Schneizel, Nina flinched at this. "And the Damocles had been in development for far longer under the seal of the Emperor himself."

"That's a load of bull Schneizel and you know it," Tamaki snapped. "While it may be true that the Damocles was in development and even construction the Emperor's approval could easily have been faked by yourself. At the least Emperor Charles gave the idea a glancing approval to get you to back off his own projects. The fact is that you were planning to use both the battle station and the FLEIJAs in a coup. Followed immediately after by your final plan, Lelouch's rebellion and betrayal just expedited your plans and gave yet another excuse to usurp the Britannian throne and destroy both the UFNs and Lelouch's forces in one great blow."

"What are you talking about?" Tianzi spoke up for the first time, her face betrayed the distress she was trying to hide. Though she was not used to political matters her limited amount of time learning under Kaguya had given her enough insight to get that what Tamaki was saying was something dire.

Turning to look at the former Empress he bowed his head in respect before explaining, "it means that, this man." He pointed at Schneizel, "was planning to use the Damocles and the FLEIJAs as a means to take control of the world through fear. Fear of his battle station and its ability to destroy whole cities and nations in hours. In fact, he had plans that once the battle of Mt. Fuji was over, he would raise the Damocles up into the atmosphere and bombard every major political center in the world. He would then rule over what was left."

The room sat frozen, such a bombshell left many of the room completely without words. Betrayed the man they had served and given so much for a lie and had followed a madman into battle that could have ended in their slavery or deaths. Cornelia bit her lip, "it's true."

Heads turned to look at the purple headed princess, including Nunnally's heartbroken look, "sister?"

"That was Schneizel's plan. After we destroyed Pendragon, he told it to me," she said, a look of absolute guilt and shame hung on her face. "I tried to stop him," her face turned to one of hate as she glared at her brother, "but was met with betrayal instead."

Tamaki then added, "after your disappearance the Toromo Agency was raided, and frankly, without a royal benefactor and superweapons to back them up, hehe they cracked under interrogation quite quickly."

"Brother," Nunnally was on the verge of tears. "How could you?"

Schneizal smiled, "it was all in the name of peace. Mankind showed us all that it was incapable to moving into the future. I intended to bring a lasting peace where all were equal, no more conflict, no more discrimination, a perfect peace as could be made on earth."

"At the cost of how many lives brother?" screamed Nunallly, her anguish and anger filling every word she spoke. "That sort of peace is nothing but a lie! Lelouch was at the least willing to create something of a future where all were free to live without fear! All the blood split, everything we did was for nothing." She shook her head despondently, "What else have you not told us."

"How about the agents he had disguised as guards at Ashford Acadamy," commented Tamaki. "How he had those guards start a conflict with Lelouch's guards and make it look like Lelouch was attacking and taking the representatives hostage."

Kaguya perked at this, she remembered how Lelouch's guards had burst into the room and had quickly removed Lelouch from the Geass proof room. To all the it had looked like what Tamaki had said, that Lelouch was taking them hostage. Those guards had whisked away Lelouch before the emperor could explain a thing, and before any of the delegates knew it they were imprisoned aboard the Avalon.

"Wait," Kallen said. "Why would Lelouch take the delegates if he was innocent of starting the attack?"

Tamaki turned, "in order to protect them. Because if Schneizel could do what he did that day.."

"He could have had us killed, he would have turned us into unwilling martyrs if we were left at Ashford," Kaguya interrupted understanding written across her face. "We had no knowledge of his agents, and they would have made it look like Lelouch's guards had killed us. But by having us on the Avalon Lelouch knew that Schneizel couldn't use a FLEIJA on the ship otherwise his plan would have been found out. It kept Schneizel cornered."

"But how did we not know about his agents?" came Todoh asking the obvious question while unnoticed Schneizel's mouth twitched at the comment on him being cornered.

Tamaki once again answered, "well considering Diethard was already in service to Schneizel at that point it would have been a miracle if you had found them."

Kanon Maldini took the time to interject and defend his master, "it was all for the sake of peace."

"And yet we have moved into the future, and it is far better than the peace you have described," Tamaki commented coolly. "And instead of giving the world peace, you sent into a war far worse than any humanity has witnessed since ancient times. Our peace was built on blood, but instead of the blood that you would have shed, the blood that bought our peace was shed in heroic and tragic sacrifice of the Black Knights and the Allied Armies."

Tamaki stepped forward, "your actions allowed men far more corrupt and horrid than the majority of the old Britannian nobles to capture and corrupt the hope of the people of the world. And it took the deaths of over one hundred million people." He turned to the rest of the room, "a great global war is what it took to Sawasaki and Machavel down. Millions were massacred by those two and many more died in the war, and it was Lelouch who lead us to victory over them. The Black Knights fought as the new army of Britannia and our Allies, fought with us from Scandinavia and Ukraine! WE fought and won! And for over two hundred years that peace has held."

A pin drop would have sounded like an explosion in that room, even Schneizal stopped and looked up. Todoh managed to rouse himself and calmly asked, "Tamaki, we have been gone two hundred years?"

Tamaki nodded, "yeah you all have, and to top it off! You haven't even been on Terra this entire time!"

Lloyd was the one to speak this time, "what?!"

Tamaki turned, "yeah you'll like this. It turns out that when the Damocles was constructed the Toromo Agency used parts of an alien spacecraft they found in Cambodia. In fact, it was from that craft that Schneizal's pet agency managed to develop so much technology, every float system, the Hardon cannon, energy shields, all developed after reverse engineering alien tech."

Lloyd spluttered and looked ready to burst, he then turned to Schneizel, "the entire time you had that and never told me! I developed the Lancelot for you and you never told me of the treasure trove you were hiding!" It was also at that moment that he realized another fact, "OOOHHHHHHHHHHHH! That woman has been awake for two hundred years! I can only imagine what she has been doing this whole time!"

"Lloyd," sighed Cecile.

"No Cecile," replied Lloyd in as close to anger as the absent-minded man could actually get over something as stupid as his professional feud. "We are going to have to work doubly hard to beat her head start on me."

Tamaki turned and left the mad scientist to his "maniacal" planning, looking back at the rest of the room he said, "I lead the Black Knights during the war, as did Jeremiah Gottwald, Anya Alstriem, and Gilbert Guilford alongside our allies. We were all enemies and now we have had peace for two hundred years because of it." He looked at the downtrodden faces of the Suzuaku and Gino, "do not look so surprised you two, Anya's joining us was completely natural. Just as it was natural and true that when the war ended the people decided to put Lelouch in charge."

The room remained quiet with the exception of Lloyd's mumbling; shock was prevalent on everyone's faces. To wake up in a time not your own and to find that the things you had fought for were no longer relevant, on top of which finding a man who many had considered just over the line of being a liability was now an obviously respected and important individual. It was a credit to those present actually in how well they were taking it, 'though there are liable to be tears in what's about to come,' thought Tamaki.

"So what now?" Chiba muttered. She did not seem to be asking anyone, if her vacant gaze was anything to judge by.

Tamaki spoke again adding an air of command in his voice, "to the point that is why I am here." This got everyone's attention again as the Grand Marshal spoke, "with the exception of Lady Kaguya, Lady Tianzi, Commander Xingke, Deputy Xianglin, and Science officers Asplund and Croomy. All present here are now officially under arrest, you are stripped of your ranks, titles, privileges, and all rights that your stations once held."

This broke everyone out of their shocked stupor, and many yelled, "what!?"

Tamaki turned to look at Nina Einstein, "actually Ms. Einstein you are more or less under protective custody. This is just a precaution for your safety and nothing truly personal mam."

"Tamaki!" snapped Ohgi. "What do you mean we are under arrest!"

The Grand Marshal rounded on the man, "oh I don't know how about dereliction of duty! I think with Nu hanging off your arm is proof in itself for that. Let's see what else? Oh Yes! Conspiracy! Treason! Attempted Murder!" He then turned to the Royals, "and you royals and knights, same charges! Only I think we can add, attempted genocide, and crimes against humanity onto that list too!" He ran his eyes across the room, "did you really believe that you all were going to simply walk out of here into new cushy jobs? The Terran Star Imperium was formed out of the ashes of your folly, I think the last thing that humanity wishes is to see you all in charge."

"Nunally had nothing to do with creating the Damocles," Cornelia commented her eyes wide. Summoning her energy, she defended her sister, "she should not be punished for actions she really had no true say in."

At that moment Tamaki's face truly softened, "I know that, so does the Emperor." He then looked at said princess, "your arrest is nothing more than a formality, it has to be done in order to appease the courts and the people."

"You mean Lelouch actually cares what people say," remarked Suzaku venom dripping from his words.

Tamaki glared back at the knight, "you truly are a fool Kururugi. Were you not listening, it was the people who put Lelouch in power after the war. Geass cancelers were present during the Summit on the Rock of Gibraltar, Lelouch had no say in the matter."

Tamaki turned back to the group, "for what its worth we are a day out from Terra you will all be given the opportunity to research the events of the past two hundred years."

A beeping sound preceded a call on the intercom, "Grand Marshal?"

"Yes, what is it?"

"The Prime Minister is on comm and would like to speak with you sir," came the reply.

"Very well I will be there presently," Tamaki turned back to the group. "I will leave you with that, ladies and gentlemen."

Leaving the Med-bay Tamaki made all speed to the conference room, and once there he was greeted by the sight of Leila Malcal Hyuga. The Prime Minister was displayed on the holographic screen dressed in a casual light blue suit, she looked up to the Marhsal and smiled, "ah Shinichiro. I have the orders of what your to do with your passengers when you arrive."

24 Hours Later, Edges of the Sol System

A bright light of energy flashed showing the tear in the fabric of space time, coming through the Silver Blade transitioned into the system. More flashes followed as the battleship's escort ships jumped in beside the ship. Aboard the bridge Tamaki observed the arrival, as he watched he saw the small flotilla that awaited them. It was not much and was mostly made up of small frigates and a few destroyers. A shuttle almost immediately detached from the awaiting ships and passed through the void towards them.

Turning the officers on the bridge Tamaki ordered, "prepare to receive that shuttle and once that is done set course for high orbit above Terra. All hands will maintain ready positions at their battle stations. Make sure that the shields are raised at all times."

Satisfied with the proceedings on the bridge Tamaki turned and left headed for the Med-bay. It only took a few minutes for the shuttle to make its landing in the hangar bay of the Silver Blade. As soon as the shuttle touched down its doors opened and out stepped Sayoko, the cybernetic being smiled. Stepping out beside her were more Zero Guards, there cloaks lined and inlayed with dark crimson. Following them was another passenger and their current charge.

Med-Bay

"This is amazing!" Lloyd exclaimed. He had spent much of the time he had been awake to studying every piece of information he could get his hands on. Most of the others rested, many still trying to comprehend the "new" world they had awoken to. "This element has the ability to affect the mass of any object! This is amazing I wonder how much of this has been used in Knightmares?"

"Probably some," added Cecile the brave women having kept partial tabs on the scientist.

"Yes, most likely," replied Lloyd not really seeing the current disinterest of his assistant.

Nunnally sat quietly, a few dried tears were on her cheeks, the emotions that coursed through her were difficult to fully grasp. The betrayal of her siblings had cut deep into her, how they had twisted her views on them and her own beloved older brother. How she had been used by them as a weapon against him.

Admittedly Kaguya, Tianzi, Xingke, and Xianglin were faring by far the best aside from Lloyd and Cecile. The three Chinese talked amongst themselves and with Kaguya and the prospects of the future for them. Kaguya likewise talked along such lines, her emotional state on what had happened was far better stable then the other Japanese in the room. From the beginning when they had told her of Lelouch's betrayal she had felt something wrong with the story. As though the facts that had led to the Black Knights betrayal did not fit together. The other royals and their followers sat in silence, their thoughts deep in some cases in others practically empty.

The door to the bay opened and entered Tamaki, his presence brought the attention of the entire room. He looked at the group, "ladies and gentlemen we have arrived in the Sol system."

"So now what?" asked Kallen.

"We will take up station in orbit of Terra and we will then be called to the surface where we will make our way to the imperial palace in Tokyo. Once there you all will be interred till your trial."

That had also been rather interesting fact, when the passengers had learned the capital of the Imperium was situated in Tokyo had been a shock. Though by then shock had been made a norm for them, thus it had worn off quite quickly.

"Basically, we are to be taken and imprisoned Lelouch's fortress guarded by his own guards," summarized Todoh. "We are obviously still important to the emperor if this is the case."

Before Tamaki could respond one of the Guards stepped out and walked to the Grand Marshal. The Guard lent in and whispered something to Tamaki, his eyes widened in surprise, "what? She's here? Why?"

"Unknown sir," replied the Guard in his robotic voice.

Tamaki shook his head, "it doesn't matter really."

As the Guard returned to his post, Tianzi asked, "something the matter Grand Marshal?"

Tamaki waved his hand, "no, but the current developments will certainly be interesting."

As if on cue the door sounded and opened, in walked the Zero Guards and as they did every other Guard came to attention bringing their weapons up into a salute. In contrast to the marital display a pink blur practically flew into the room with a familiar voice crying, "Uncle Tamaki!"

Tamaki laughed as the blur jumped into his arms, he spun and hugged with form of the princess, "hehehahahaha hello Euphie, what are you doing here little one?"

"What? I can't come and see my favorite uncle?" retorted Euphemia.

Cornelia and Suzaku sat up straight in their beds their eyes wide with a shock that rivaled that they had a day previous. Cornelia's eyes began to moisten as she stuttered, "E…Euphie?"

The princess looked around Tamaki at the occupants of the room, this revealed her to the group. The princess violet/yellow eyes were set in the face of her namesake, while in the time of her life she had adopted her namesake's pink hair she had kept several streaks of her parents black and lime hair. Despite the differences she was near identical to Euphemia li Britannia at the time before she died.

The princess adopted a polite smile, "hello, you must be Cornelia li Britannia. I'm sorry but I am not your sister, I'm actually your niece. My name is Euphemia vi Zero, my father is Lelouch vi Zero and Ceceniah vi Zero. I was named for your sister though, after I was born, I took a liking to the legacy of your sister and daddy likewise felt it best to name me for her."

Cornelia was at a loss for words as she gazed upon a living tribute to her beloved sister. Nunnally likewise was wide eyed as she gazed at her niece, "you look like her."

Euphemia turned to Nunnally and smiled, "thank you Aunt Nunnally. Daddy spoke highly of you too I hope we can talk more about my namesake soon."

As the group looked on another being entered the room, Sayoko approached Nunnally's side, "hello again lady Nunnally its been awhile."

"Sayoko?" Nunnally started.

The maid smiled and nodded, "yes milady."

Nunnally stretched out and managed to catch Sayoko in a hug, which was happily returned. Nunnally looked up at the maid she could now see for the first time, "you feel different."

Sayoko laughed, "yes milady. Two hundred years ago I was in danger of dying. Master Lelouch found a way to save me, most of my body is now advanced cybernetics now. As the years have passed, I have been upgraded so I look and feel more human. I even have more biological parts then I did years ago."

"Amazing," muttered Nunnally truly amazed at how much her brother had done to save their loyal maid (they also missed Lloyd likewise muttering the same thing to himself).

Tamaki likewise smiled at the reunion then spoke, "Sayoko has arrived with clothes for all of you. Taking you into the capital dressed in hospital gowns will not exactly be wise."

Suzaku had stayed silent unable to tear his eyes from Euphemia, Tamaki noticed this, and his smile fell from his face. Tamaki took the moment to say, "Kururugi she isn't the Euphemia you once served."

"Are you really an AI?" Lloyd asked excitedly.

"Lloyd!" Cecile scolded.

"Heheheh," giggled Euphemia. "Someone has been studying I see. But yes, I am an AI in a sense. I was born from the combined consciousnesses of my father and mother. My body is like Sayoko's it's a cybernetic form made up of advanced cybernetics and cloned genetic material."

"Amazing!" Lloyd replied his eyes so wide his glasses almost fell from his face. Cornelia and Suzaku likewise were shocked though they were speechless unlike the scientist in their midst. "Absolutely incredible."

Tamaki rolled his eyes at the scientist's actions, "anyway ladies and gentlemen, we will draw curtains and you will all be given clothes to change into. You will be guarded the entire time I might add so do not think to attempt anything. We will arrive at Terra soon so be ready please."

Later in the streets of Tokyo

The convoy moved through the streets in what was obviously a parade made for this particular occasion. Cameras broadcasted the event across the Imperium, in prison carriages carried the newly captured passengers that Tamaki had brought. They were dressed in the rather plain clothes they had been brought, dull colors that showed that their stations were stripped from them. Other carriages held those that did not suffer the indignity of being under arrest, they too were dressed rather plainly but were nonetheless obviously in a different category than the others. Sayoko stood by Nunnally while other Zero Guards stood in the carriages or march in lock step beside them.

Knightmares escorted the convoy as it marched through the streets the inhabitants cheering as the parade passed. Marital music played and the column marched triumphantly toward the Imperial Palace. Tamaki stood on a platform above the carriages and stared ahead as the procession moved. The prisoners looked around at the site that passed them by, they had jumped when Tamaki's commanding voice had set the march moving. His voice had boomed, "forward!"

Now he stood quietly as they approached "Euphemia Square," drawing his sword said, "parade! Present Arms!"

Knightmares and Guards brought up their weapons in a salute, for as they approached another platform held the form of the Prime Minister. She watched as the parade passed her by and Tamaki called and dropped his sword right turning his head with it, "eyes right!"

The Guards and Knightmares turned their heads to look up at Leila Malcal Hyuga alongside the Knight of Two and Three, Akito Hyuga and Anya Alstreim respectfully, normally the Imperial Guards would never do this for anyone other than the Imperial family. But the current Prime Minister and Knights of the Round were exceptions, her record and service had garnered the honor of being saluted by the Emperor's Guards.

As they passed, Tamaki called again, "eyes front!"

Sheathing his sword, the parade passed by the massive statue of the late Princess Euphemia. The prisoners looked up at the edifice, Cornelia and the royals with Suzaku looked up with amazement at the honor that was given to the dead princess. As they passed the statue as it held its burning torch they approached the gates of the palace. With an ominous grace the gates opened as the parade entered and the prisoners entered the home of the one they had called enemy two hundred years prior.

A.N. As a point I would like to say that I have never written something like this before, so I hope I did a decent job. As well in my own opinion I feel that whtat I have written for the characters so far are there initial reactions to being awakened and talking with Tamaki. They have not seen the new world for themselves, and admitedly some never will, but there will be more later on.

As a quick note to try and clarify the calendar thing a quick analogy is this, 2157 CE is 2357 a.t.b, I hope that cleared it up. At the least that is what I have in my own mind. As well in terms of things like describing ships, colonies, weapons and the like I will be doing in either later chapters or in the sequel.

On the note of the sequel, I have made a decision, do to both the popularity and the unspoken challenge that I feel I have been given I have come to the decision that I shall at the moment, postpone my Warhammer/Highschool DxD project (I still need to iron out a few plot points anyway). In favor of this I intend to take on for my next project the sequel to this story.

I felt I have been challenged as I have seen that the majority if not all Code Geass/Mass Effect crossovers have petered out and died out or gone on excruciatingly long hiatuses that might as well be permanent abandonment. I have decided to try and break this trend! Therefore, following the completion of this story and some work on my other story I will begin work on the sequel to Britannia Rising. Look ahead in the coming chapters of either my current stories for more information and a possible title. Until next time all!
