Unshown Moments for The Bear Season 4
"Kitty!" Tilda called.
"Hmmm?" Kitty turned just in time to see Tilda toss her the bridal bouquet.
"Well, that's the prettiest thing I ever saw." Doc remarked as he saw the delighted expression on the red head's face. "What are you gonna do with it?"
Kitty laughed as she looked up at Matt. "Plant it I guess." She was pretty sure that'd be the only thing she could do with it.
After Kitty and Tilda left for Tilda's place, Doc glanced up at Matt. "You know why Tilda tossed that to her, don't ya?"
Matt put on his best confused expression and shook his head. "No. What do you mean?"
"Oh, come on, Matt." Doc gave him a stern look. "You know why she chose Kitty."
Matt considered that for a moment. "Yeah, well. Guess maybe she's like all the other women in town; afraid that if there are any single women in town they might make a play for their husbands or something so they have to make sure all the women are married."
"Well," Doc tugged his ear. "That could be the case for some, but not in this instance and you know it. Tilda knows you and Kitty areā¦"
"Friends." Matt interrupted him. "Everybody knows we're friends."
"Uh, huh." Doc rolled his eyes, unconvinced. "Well, let me tell you something, Mr. Marshal." Doc fixed him with a scowl. "One of these days, when you're not looking, some other man might come along that makes a better friend for her. A friend that won't shy away from the altar and will give Kitty a chance to use that bouquet for its intended purpose. You get my meaning?"
Matt's sour look told Doc he did. Doc raised a finger in the air, ready to give Matt some more of his opinion concerning the topic of marriage when Chester came up.
"Doc?" His voice was a little plaintive and Doc frowned over at him.
"You finally beginning to feel that punch?" Doc knocked at the glass in Chester's hand.
"Punch?" Chester looked puzzled. "Naw, I ain't feeling no punch. But Mr. Bodkin's feeling something. He sent his clerk over here to get ya?" He pointed towards the door where the thin, bald headed little man was standing, hat in hand, politely waiting.
"Oh." Doc sighed. "Well, I'd better go." He glanced back up at Matt. "But you think on what I said, Matt."
Matt sighed as Doc left, knowing he'd not be thinking of anything else now.
"Sure was a nice wedding, wasn't it, Mr. Dillon?" Chester grinned at him. "I always say they ain't nothing like a good wedding."
'Yeah." Matt grunted.
"Ya know, I betcha the next one to git married is gonna be Miss Kitty." Chester took another drink of his punch.
"Kitty?" Matt arched a brow. "What makes you think that?"
"Well, cause she caught that there bouquet and all. Besides, she's so pretty and there's lot of fellas always a comin' into the Long Branch and talking to her and all." He took another drink of his punch.
"Yeah." Matt sighed.
"You know, I think this punch is a just a little bit better." Chester answered. "I think maybe they sweetened it up a little bit more."
Matt's expression softened and he actually smiled as looked over at his assistant, who was steadily on his way to getting drunk. Even though Chester's prediction about Kitty was unwelcome, the man could be comical. But his smile disappeared when Kitty came in and told him about Tilda's clothes.
He would have to worry about Chester and Kitty and any men who might propose to her later.
Later came after he sent Mike off to be with his new bride Tilda. Watching him go, Matt thought once again about Kitty and that bridal bouquet. The look she'd given him, when she caught it, didn't escape his notice, he just wasn't going to say anything about it. At least not then. But as he turned his attention back to his job, he decided someday, he would.
