Japan shivered as he walked down the street towards America's home. America had asked Japan to come over and play video games with him, an activity the two nations liked to do with each other when they weren't busy. Japan had brought along many of their favorite games, (Legend of Zelda, Mario, Super Smash Brothers, Persona 5, and Pokémon just to name a few), along with some of the games he was developing to try out with America. As he came to America's door, America slammed the door open with his usual enthusiasm, making Japan chuckle a bit.
"Japan! Dude, welcome!" America said excitably.
"Hello America." Japan said, walking into the excited Americans house. As he took his shoes off by the door, America held up his Nintendo switch.
"I just got Breath of the Wild!" America said, bouncing up and down. "I haven't got a chance to play it yet, and I've been avoiding all of the spoilers online so we could play it together."
"Excellent." Japan said as they walked towards the living room. "I've brought over some prototype games that you may like."
"Sweet!" America said. "Dude, you're the best video game maker in the world."
"I know." Japan smirked. America gave a fake gasp of shock.
"Did Japan just brag? Call the press!" America yelled. "I can see it now! Japan has an ego! Story on page 11!"
"Hush." Japan said, flicking a piece of popcorn off the table, (which was filled with snacks), at America. "Don't disrespect your elders."
"Oh, don't pull the age card." America smirked. "Or do you want me to call china and tattle on you?"
Throwing a glare at America, Japan then gave a challenging grin. "For that, I will not hold back on smash brothers."
"Pfft, like you ever did in the first place." America snorted as he flopped down on the couch. "What's our current score in that again?"
"203 to 20 to me." Japan said, setting up the different consoles.
"Yeah, how about we try something I'm actually good at?" America said, making Japan chuckle.
After picking out a game, they both decided on something Japan was surprised about. America had picked Animal crossing.
"I didn't think you were into such games." Japan said as they set up their characters.
"Don't tell anyone," America said, as he made his character look like him, "But I actually really like a lot of the cuter games like this."
"Really?" Japan asked. "I always pegged you as a shooter gamer."
"Don't get me wrong, I am." America said. "But these games are just so peaceful and fun I can't help but love them. But if anyone else finds out about this, they would never let me live it down."
"I'm not making fun of you." Japan pointed out, watching Tom Nook instruct their characters on how to sell items.
"Yeah, but you're my friend." America said. "Just think what Russia would say if he found out."
"Russia plays Kirby's epic yarn." Japan said, making America spit up his soda in shock.
"No way." America sputtered.
"It's true. He asked me for a copy a few years ago." Japan said. "Prussia plays Harvest moon, Germany plays a lot of the Lego games, Sweden plays Pikmin, Denmark likes a game called Fez, and your brother Canada really likes Nintendogs."
"Really?" America asked. "Wow, that makes me feel better."
"Of course, you didn't hear this from me." Japan said coolly, sipping his soda.
"Of course." America smirked.
A/N: Hello, I'm back! Ah yes, Video games. A staple of growing up in America… That is, unless your parents never let you have video games because they thought they were a waste of time, even though you begged and pleaded to have just one, until they eventually cave and buy you a Wii, only for it to be knocked out by an electric storm not even a year later and for them to say oh well, you don't need another. Wow, I needed to vent that. It felt good. I now play a lot of online games. My favorites? Cuphead and Slime Rancher. What's your favorite video game?
