So I know some of you would be curious about the story, about the characters, the plot and ideas so will give you some answers. There be some updates on the fanon wiki to expand ideas on the stories and lore. Just been overcome the writer's block and the spare time I've had to write my stories.

For the Vanguards, they are a mix between Jedi and Guardians, not entirely original as there be a story to how they became what they are now. However, the differences are they're not immortal, nor have ghosts but instead have AIs to guide them. But one I have shown will provide answers in the later chapters. Haven't left out Star Wars as I am a big fan of the franchise ^^

Wont be any Council bashing, well, not a lot as they will learn just how big the universe is but have been so used to being the 'voice of civilization' when they'll find out about the older and more advance races in the Halo Galaxy like the Minbari, Shadows, Vorlons and more.

Ikora was observing the reports of the battle on a remote planet the Commonwealth saved from a Cabal invasion, learning about these species that reside on the other side of the galaxy for potential use of knowledge. With the Cabal returned and in a different galaxy, they will need the help they can get from the Commonwealth with experiences from the previous war during the Iconian War. She summoned two most gifted masters on Eden Prime as they have worked alongside with each other since coming to the planet.

Eden Prime

When news of the Cabal have been sighted for the first time in 200 years, the Vanguards in the Halo galaxy immediate took action to assist the Commonwealth against their enemies. Working with the military and Intel officers with stratagem to counter the Cabal threat and ensure not to let history repeat itself from the last war.

Ikora was observing the reports of the battle on a remote planet the Commonwealth saved from a Cabal invasion a few hours earlier, learning about these species that reside on the other side of the galaxy for potential use of knowledge. With the Cabal returned and in a different galaxy, they will need the help they can get from the Commonwealth with experiences from the previous war during the Iconian War. She summoned two most gifted masters on Eden Prime with limited time they have before the next attack could happen right now.

Curious about the aliens using kinetic abilities when they fought against the Psions and the effects the alien relics it had on their Vanguards according to S'veek's report. According to his statement, their abilities felt… off, even the outpost some felt as if that the place wasn't safe for them. No, perhaps it was a little like something was making them uneasy about when being close to the area so had to stay clear from it.

Looking over the images projected to her of the battlefield; immediately took noticed Cayde-6 entering the room and now needed to wait for the Titan to arrive. "Cayde, so glad you could come in the moment of… why do you have a chicken?"

The Exo looked down at the chicken he was carrying in his arm and didn't seem bothered by it. "Yeah, just found these critters from a barnyard out in the fields and had this idea from the back of my head of using them. Like how we used dogs, cats and horses back in the days Old-Earth."

The Warlock wasn't sure if he was just being funny or strange, but didn't bother to ask during his strange antics.

"Big Blue not here yet?" Cayde-6 asked.

The Warlock shook her head. "Zavala just finished giving his report to starfleet. Should be here soon.

"Well, while we wait, I can just take a moment to catch up on one of my favourite movies." Pulls out his pad and scrolled through a few until he picked one. "Ah, Avengers, one of my favourites and also the new Infinity Wars. Least Disney was faithful to the franchise back in the old days. Stupid teen sitcoms." He had always loved the ancient entertainment, watching the action fights as he sat down on the other side of the table.

Listening to Cayde on about some movie that's centuries old made her rolled her eyes and ponder about his hobbies. "I'll never understand how you want to watch such ancient relics."

Cayde looked at her, as though she had just sprouted another head. "These… so-called 'relics' as you put it, before Noah's Ark was discovered, these were part of Humanity's greatest achievements! I have many that date back from the classics. But many don't seem appreciate by those leeches when shows get too good. Especially that show, can't find it, something about cowboys in space sort of thing. That was a legend to me."

The two waited for a few more minutes when Zavala showed up, wearing his armour and helmet since he left Centauri Prime. "Hey, good of you to show up. But you can take the helmet off, no here judges you." The Hunter welcomed his comrade now that all three of them were present.

"Correct, we hold no prejudice to anyone. You're among friends, Zavala." Ikora assured him, knowing he had reasons to keep his physical appearance until he was ready.

Zavala was a little reluctant until he did as requested for them, reaching for his helmet and lifting it up and revealed his face. His face was all pale blue, bald and strong features for his physical frame, faint markings on his face and has two icy blue eyes. "Apologies, it still takes time to get use to when in the presence of alien races."

"There see? Just take it one at a time bro."

Zavala gave a questionable look upon the Exo who was holding a small feathery bird in his hand. A chicken. That's what they were called from Earth as one of their domestic animals. Turning his head to the Warlock who had the same idea as him. "Should I ask why he has a chicken in the meeting?"

"Best not. But now to important matters at hand, namely the Cabal. The Commonwealth will want Vanguards to assist them against the Cabal and also assist a possible ally known as the Citadel Council, I've been reading a few about them and I'm sure the two of you have done so."

"Yeah, I'm more concern for my well being, these guys seem very xenophobic towards anything mechanical with a brain. I mean, that's kind've rude since they don't know us!"

"They obviously have a reason for such, perhaps a past experience of an Artificial Intelligence that grew beyond their control or have not yet obtained the understanding of controlling. But we aren't here to discuss about that now, we need to how to find the Cabal bases and fast." Zavala knew they were running out of time, Hunters have found nothing in known regions of space, or even Arbiter Kaia has not found anything so far. But talks with the Council may be limited until they reach the capital.

"Easier said then done, those bastards aren't so easy to find. So far non of the League Worlds, especially the Narns or the Centauri have ever seen or heard of the Cabal until today." Cayde pointed out the facts. "On the plus side of things, we caught them with their pants down."

Ikora agreed to his statement after successfully driving the enemy out of the star system with the help of potential allies. "We were unprepared by their invasion due to the war with the Iconians and their Servitors. And the darkest moment of our order."

"Well, lets hope they don't have another Almighty being built, otherwise we be in big shit. But if they do, I still have some Dominion teleporters we can use to slip pass their defense systems. But, due to limited range and easier to avoid using Forerunner tech to avoid detection, so we'll have to get a little too close for comfort." He also know some Tau who have Crisis Battlesuit models that could pack a punch against a Cabal, getting the job done simply and less risk of casualties.

"Then we'll use them only for the select few make an effective strike." Zavala suggested, agreeing to a tactic as they were using Covenant technology that is similar to the Federation's but centuries behind. Using alternative resources unknown to the Cabal could give an advantage.

"But this station, the Citadel is unknown to us. I'm curious why the Cabal want it destroyed so much rather then capture it." Curious of why they want something that is told to be so important to these civilizations that brought them together.

"That's got me thinking, strange how they wanted advance technology and yet what to destroy these relays and outposts made by an ancient race." Cayde wondered why that is, but the Cabal were a mystery and always stubborn to reveal any secrets they have with anyone not one of them.

Zavala had to agree with him, he had read the historic records about the Cabal invaded the Milky Way and waging war with many civilizations for conquest, knowing they were used by these Iconians to attack the Allied species to weaken their forces. "If you had been paying attention to the reports, it explains that the Cabal were once enemies of the Protheans thousands of years ago, fighting for supremacy over the galaxy and were driven out, driving by the desire of conquest and redemption to their lost empire." He explained to him and thought of a logical reason for this. "With this… Citadel as they call it, once belonged to the Protheans, perhaps they wanted to destroy the legacy to prove they were the victors."

"Whatever reason their goals are, we will not let them succeed at the cost of innocent lives at stake. The Commonwealth is sending available military forces within the region to launch an attack and help our allies." Ikora said, determined to end this war for good and not let it be like the Dilgar War turned out, but the only difference between the two was only one of them wasn't so bloodthirsty and did it for some sick amusement. They know full well who it was that commanded the fleet into the Halo Galaxy, Kaia Vedam known for her reputation as the "Fire Maiden", with them here in the Frontier, things will be getting serious.

"But this time, we have the upper hand of knowing our enemies. We are stronger then before, and more unified to give hope to this galaxy from suffering just like ours had endured." Zavala raised his fist and held it in a firm grip. "We are Vanguards, defenders of the peace, bringers of hope and justice as heralds of the Light."

"That is a great, great speech. Anyone wanna hug?" The Hunter raised his arms up to the two to offer a hug. No response from the two who stared at him.

"Hugs?"

Again nothing.

"Too soon?"

Unknown Location

Many wonder how vast and diverse the multiverse is, what each one of the infinite worlds, realities and dimensions are like and if they follow the same path as the other universe or any similarities. Each one is 'born' from a Big Bang, as a common name or other alternative ways for realities to form such as pocket universes that are linked to their host universes.

In every universe, they follow a different path by time and space, and many are home to the variety of life since the earliest stage from birth of creation, to the last dying moments when they begin to decay.

There are many known types of worlds that exist which diverge from other counterparts. Some theories by scientists who successfully crossed over the dimensional barriers between realties theorised that life could evolve beyond the laws of physics and evolve to a high plane, or in the deep uncharted realms hyperspace

One dimension is inhabited by demonic entities that are linked to a host universe through negative emotions, extremely dangerous as they prey upon a material universe. It would've been close to being called hell by the similarities of the creatures' appearances.

Two groups of realities with earth home to humans with powers for both good and evil purposes. Divided into groups from the rest of the multiverse and more linked then the others. It's host universe, with the galaxy the warp entities prey upon was consumed by a never-ending war between several races.

Another with two warring factions of transforming, fighting one another for eons.

Some universes in which commonly use magic and others work alongside science.

There have been numerous occasions when more then one universe share common features to each other, something they would refer to as a "Crossover". Or on some encounters with non-corporeal beings with powers beyond limit.

"Doesn't it amaze you just so how different and bizarre each one of these realities are? You could travel to and explore the time and space."

"Yes, and also the number of me and you, Sagira."

The small golden sphere with eight arrow-shaped points looked at her Guardian. "I don't mean the Reflections, I mean actual flesh and blood then those you made. I mean, some universes where Earth prospered without the Collapse. Others, well just fell. Not like that reality we sure glad to locked out from the others." The two were from a reality where humanity was on the brink of collapse, besieged by three warring races wanting to wipe out the last remnants of Humanity to capture the Traveller. Went into exile because her Guardian had the 'obsession' according to some back home about the Vex, transtemporal machines with a single purpose but to spread their machinery throughout time and space. They were one of the most powerful foes, having the ability to warp the nature of reality.

Spending years searching for the Infinite Forest to know how to defeat the Vex Collective, horrified to discover a timeline dominated by the Vex, determined to stop their plans by defeating a Hydra called Penoptes, the Infinite Mind with the help of his former student and other Guardians.

With the defeat of the Vex hive mind, even if they still pose a threat, it gave him hope that the future is what they can make. Decided to explore other realities close to his in hopes of finding anything that could provide answers to defeat their enemies. During his travels, Osiris and Sagira stumbled upon a reality that was centuries behind his, to the time when Humanity prospered beyond their solar system. It would've been like any other but what caught their attention were the individuals who call themselves 'Vanguards', they were so much like the Guardians who use the Light, defend the weak and innocent, but it wasn't just humans but other species who possess psionic powers and work alongside the governments. The humans had scattered across the galaxy and like his people they suffered a downfall of their once mighty stellar empire thousands of years ago and had to climb back up. Least they are doing better and built a commonwealth to coexist with other species in the galaxy, which was a great achievement to them. But there were so many questions in his mind right now and wanting to find out.

Could they possess the Light?

What gives them powers like the Guardians?

How far could these civilizations achieve?

Could a Traveller in this reality exist? And if so… could the Darkness as well?

The last one question was set on his mind as they explored this reality for answers, and his fear soon grew when he found the Cabal in this reality led by the maniacal Emperor Ghaul who once launched an invasion in the Milky Way galaxy but his legion was pushed out and now centuries later, set his sights on a neighbouring galaxy they call 'Halo'. Among the three known galaxies beyond the Milky Way, this one caught his attention for whatever reason the Cabal were here.

"Osiris? Osiris! OSIRIS!"

The Guardian was lost in his own pile of thoughts, his Ghost snapped him out of it. "I'm sorry, just been thinking so many questions about this reality."

"I know, I began to wonder what there is about this dimension but something… I dunno, something ain't right. It feels like something I haven't felt in a long, long while." Listening to his Ghost about what she felt about this world, he had to agree. Standing upon a remote planet they stumbled upon when crossing over the dimensional barrier, landing in a remote planet when gathering more information on the strange psionic readings coming from the structures they found.

"We need to take know what Ghaul is doing and hopefully stop his plans for the galaxy." Some would say it wasn't his place to intervene, but if it's something to do with the Darkness and perhaps prevent Humanity of this reality from sharing the same fate as his people when his people entered a Golden Age and suffered a near-extinction. Maybe there be something he could do to help them prepare for the coming events.

"I know, but if we're gonna be here for awhile might as well stay low." He gazes up in the night sky, something was coming and it wasn't going to be good. They can't afford to waste time and need to find answers fast.

Halo Galaxy, Serpant Nebula, Widow System

Citadel

"Would all civilians make their way to the shelters in an ordinary line, please do not cause a panic!" C-Sec officers held their positions and guided the various inhabitants the sectors to the protective shelters.

"Um, what's all the problem, sir?" An Asari spoke to the C-Sec officers when she was confused by what is going on, many were thinking the same thing for why they had to take the shelters.

A Turian female stepped forward and answered. "It's merely a precaution, ma'am, but best you get to the shelters to be safe. Now, keep moving." Waving her arm to the direction as they did so without further delay.

Receiving orders from the Council about a possible invasion of the Citadel, they didn't want to reveal too much to the media in fear of causing a riot or panic, giving the enemy an advantage should they come at the time. This were grim for them with few victories against the powerful Cabal, they fear for their civilizations being wiped out by the invaders after what they did to the Batarian Hegemony, left it in ruins. There were some who lived here received the dreaded news and vowed to avenge their loved ones. However, over the past months, they were being treated as bad as the Quarians, blaming them for starting a war for their so-called cultural heritage' and wanting to enslave the Cabal, instead it would likely be them. There have been numerous fighting mainly towards Batarians, obviously for those who had hated slavery.

Nothing much of what was going on in the Terminus Systems but seems it would be the same on the other side of the galaxy, doubted that the warlords, pirates and independent factions living there would stand a chance against the Cabal.

Meanwhile things at the Citadel were getting serious and receiving grave news about a possible invasion, with their ships spread thin it would be a massacre, but something about a possible ally helping them and defeated the Cabal legion on one of the colonies named Aevanna had gave some hope to them that the enemy can be defeated. Even the Turian Spirit grew stronger as they begun exploiting possible weaknesses and limits of the enemy forces. They have begun upgrading the military weapons and kinetic shield technology from understanding some of the limits of Cabal technology. Spectres have been called to become the front lines of defence to take on the toughest legionnaires and their Psions.

But the question remains, can this new ally be trusted?

Meanwhile within the Council room, they were trying to evacuate as many of their peoples as possible before the Cabal will arrive, Tevos received notes on the diplomats on making contact with these aliens that were part of the Interstellar Commonwealth as it was known, hoping to find anything about them. But, with time against them, any help against a common foe is better then none.

"How soon will the ships to arrive?" Asking Falterius of the status, giving a stern look through his crested face. Not wanting to wait for the enemy the chance to strike.

"They all received the order, the closes flotilla to arrive would be within 6 hours, the Cabal would be here by then destroying the station before anyone could make it. But so far our military fleet is tightening their defence, we will need close the station's arms to prevent them from getting in."

Sealing the station would provide time and defences, there may be some few gaps but least buy them some time to stall for the main fleet to arrive.

"Make sure all C-Sec personal are to barricade the possible areas they will likely to appear. We must not let these monsters destroy what we had hoped to achieve."

"But the reports from Aevanna doesn't make sense, the Citadel is the foundation of galactic civilization and left by the Protheans themselves before they vanished from the galaxy. The question is, why would they want to destroy this station?" Alann brought an excellent question in which they were all thinking about. They first assumed the Cabal wanted the Citadel to take over the galactic community like any other. But to destroy the station was something no one would expect, but could be very effective.

"Actually Councillor Alann, I think it does." Falterius said to gain their attention.

"Please explain Falterius? What could they hope to achieve such a gamble?" Tevos asked him, having a dreaded feeling she may not like it.

"If the you want to destroy the enemy, you must know their strengths and weaknesses in order to win. For the Cabal despite their strength against us but couldn't defeat all of us at once when we have the advantage of it, but destroy the very thing that keeps us together such as the Citadel." Thinking over how they pulled their forces away from the capital, which is a clever strategy and one that could simply work if they succeed in destroying the station. Lost in thought when suddenly greeted by a group of C-Sec a Commando who approached them with great urgency to disrupt the councilors meeting.

"Councilors, we apologies for intruding but just receive urgent news of the Cabal fleet sighted several light years away. We must urge you evacuate the tower immediately." This did not go as they had planned, immediately they did as requested and took shelter and pray they would make it out alive. For this battle will decide the fate of the galaxy forever.

Few hours Earlier...

Unknown planet

Ghaul's forces had already taken a portion of the planet with potential resources and signs of artificial constructs on the surface, but couldn't hack into the ancient technology to gain access to whatever species built this settlement other then the Protheans as it appears much older then their own. However, it intrigued him that they appear to still be operational after all this time, the best technicians and greatest minds would have a challenge to this task he had assigned to them. But time wasn't something he had right now with both enemy forces could form an alliance and overthrow the Emperor with his guard down.

"It clearly shows this planet was used by a travellers for whatever reasons they had for this planet, but clearly not just for colonising. No traces of Element-Zero so it is perhaps constructed by a species that have never relied on the technology or perhaps beyond the rim." A leading member of the recon team reported to Ghaul through a hologram whilst surveying the planet's surface, he became more interested in this planet much more upon learning the potentials it could provide for his restored empire. "However, a powerful security system is blocking our attempt to hack into the data files of what was left by these travellers. Clearly to prevent outsiders from finding out what they've learnt."

"Continue your work, I want those files by the end of the battle. For your sake." Not wanting receive anger from his emperor, the Cabal saluted to him and cut off communications.

With that done, he had more important things to do, approaches the bridge and received reports of the final preparations on the newly established base; the fleet was ready and ready to invade the capital by his orders. The Council races have spread their forces thin for the capital of their alliance is defenceless, he did not anticipated that the Milky Way alliance would come sooner then expected, but nothing that concerned the emperor of his plans. All his life, he started out from nothing, but fought his way up and climbed to take the throne of the empire with the dedication to bring the Cabal into a new age. The plans to find the legendary Traveller is still part of it, but "Long ago, our ancestors fought for control over this galaxy with strength, honour and duty to their empire. The only ones who stood in their path to the glorious path was the Protheans…. and the Great Enemy." Given moments for his soldiers to absorb the words into their minds. "They drove our ancestors out into the cold and inhosbitable dark space, believed our race would not survive. But they were mistaken. We rebuilt, grew stronger and evolved to survive! To conquer and destroy our enemies to take our rightful place in the universe full of chaos and disorder! And when the ancient darkness return, we shall stand triumphant and become. THE TRUE! HERALDS! OF. THE. LIGHT!"

Throughout the fleet and the planet, he could hear their voices shouting in praise such as.

"LONG LIVE THE EMPEROR!"

"GLORY TO THE CABAL!"

Listening to them chant in his name, feeling pride swell within him, all those centuries to struggle and survive had made him reach the heights like never before. These Council races, so soft and idle because they relied so much on the legacy of his enemies. The Asari were weak, calling themselves the voice of diplomacy has made them so weak in fear of going to war. They had no right to be the heralds of this galaxy and he will show them that his race deserved what was taken from them.

Files: Zavala

Species: Awoken

Homeworld: Classified

Affiliations: High Foundation, Interstellar Commonwealth

Type: Titan-Class Vanguard

Zavala is a member of a race of humanoids known as the Awoken, hailing from a homeworld, which has been made classified by Starfleet Intelligence and the High Foundation council the only ones who know. Originally a soldier in his time when he was part of a military when at some point he was captured by a Dilgar scout party, possibly to learn much about his species and weaknesses to exploit. However, they underestimated his abilities and easily defeated the Dilgar, started a mutiny to take over the ship with the aide of other alien prisoners. Knowing he was unable to return home with know way of getting back for the time being, Zavala quickly received contact with a friendlier face.

Studies about his physiology reveal Human genetic traits and unknown anomalies found in his genome, possibly a result of mutation developed through accelerated evolution or by genetic engineering. Zavala was unable to reveal what had accord as the secrets were lost to his people, referring to the historic era known as "The Dark History".

Ok, so now we are finally having the battle of the Citadel, got some clear idea how it would end for the Cabal based on the game a little but on a franchise, not gonna reveal it for spoilers. Next chapter will be an entire battle and you get to see the Commonwealth fleet in action. I thought perhaps Zavala's people were not yet found or unknown to certain people as they are considered an isolated culture. Later on will also focus on Kira's upbringing on other worlds, yes he will be a Vanguard like the original.

So hope you like it and any questions just ask, sorry if its not much been so busy and other ideas to work out.
