Author's Note: Hello! It's been awhile. Hehe. This drabble has been sitting in my laptop for yeeeeears. Like, really. Yeeeeeears. Hahaha. I don't remember anymore how I came up with this one but I had the idea that Juvia would be hiding Gray in her closet because well, someone walked in on them. lol. I'm sure this was before the "I'll give you my answer once the war is over" scene because I swear to you I drafter this drabble way, way before that. Just happy the timeline fits. So, here ya go my loves! And of course, Erza Scarlet is in here because I love my redhead. I'm on my second draft with She's In Your Court Chapter 7 so please look forward for that. Drop some love and comments! Muah
Gray-sama, hide!
It was a fresh, new day. The sun was smiling at him. Although he was better off with the cold as he was an ice mage, Gray still found the warm morning both refreshing and relaxing. He inhaled the early breeze and searched for his memory of last night's happenings. It painted a smile on his face. An unusual smile. A smile that was satisfied but still wanting. His body was reacting to the images his memory was playing in his mind. Before he could enter a point of no return, a soft familiar voice forced his eyes open.
"Gray-sama..."
He turned his head away from the window and landed his gaze on a certain bluenette who's been stirring this odd feeling inside him. A good odd, that was.
The ends of the blanket wrapped around Juvia's naked frame brushed against the wooden floor as her footsteps covered the distance between Gray and her. She moved so gently, so elegantly that Gray's heart could not help but flutter at the sight.
"Hey." Gray lovingly called as he opened his arms to welcome the love of his life.
He wrapped his arms around her small frame and settled his chin on Juvia's bare shoulder. He remembered that scent, still intoxicating. They were seated near the window, gazing out to the beautiful scenery. But if he could only see how they both looked, Gray would agree that there was no scene more beautiful than the one they were in – domestic bliss. The ice-mage sighed in contentment. It was the fitting word to describe how he felt having Juvia in his arms - content. After he gave the water-mage his answer, Gray's troubled heart was finally home.
"Juvia-san."
A soft knock on the door ruined the bliss. Both Juvia and Gray jumped back and away from each other when they realized who was at the other side of the door.
"Juvia-san, will you let me in?"
"Juvia will be ready in a second, Wendy-san."
Gray and Juvia stared at each other. They could only imagine the trauma it would cause the young mage if she found out that Gray slept in Juvia's room last night. Not to mention the scolding they both would get from Erza Scarlet for causing such scandal. (And for beating Erza to doing the deed.)The water-mage hit her panic button.
"Gray-sama, hide!" She whisper-yelled.
"What? No."
He retorted but the water-mage was already peeling him away from the window. She was quite strong, Gray thought. His brain failed to comprehend the situation and could only allow himself be shoved inside Juvia's closet. The ice-mage freaked out a little when he was surrounded by a variety of himself and realized that the closet was full of Juvia's "Gray Merchandise". He almost squeaked when he saw Juvia's 'Gray-sama Love' hanging by the side. He needed to talk to Juvia about it.
"I'm not gonna hide here." Gray tried to push his way out but the water-mage wouldn't have it. "When did you get so strong?"
(Well, Gray, the situation called for it.)
Gray slid the closet door ajar when he saw the young dragon-slayer walk into Juvia's bedroom. He noticed that the water-mage still had the blanket wrapped around her. And nothing else. He snorted.
"Did you hear that, Juvia-san?"
Gray's hands flew over his face to cover his mouth.
"What? Nothing." Juvia quickly denied. One hand holding the blanket secure while the other flapped like crazy. She thought it would help distract Wendy's young eyes. However, something else caught Wendy's attention.
"This smell is familiar." Wendy announced. She sniffed the familiar scent for her investigation. "It smells like…"
Gray swallowed a lump in his throat. If the dragon-slayer figured out whose scent lingered in Juvia's room, the couple would be done for.
"Ah!" Juvia screamed at Wendy to distract her. "Juvia needs to get changed, Wendy-san. Or else Juvia and Wendy would get an earful from Erza-san."
Gray sighed in relief. He was kind of proud of his girlfriend who just cooked up an excellent excuse. He felt kind of bad for Wendy, though, with the way his girlfriend shoved the young mage out the door. It was either Wendy would suspect something was wrong or she would feel unwanted. It was the lesser of two evils.
Gray heard footsteps heading his direction. So, he pushed open the closet door and walked outta there. He first lectured Juvia on why she did not need the Gray plushie-dolls and merchandise anymore, since she already had the real thing. He wanted them to pick up where they left off. But if he thought they both got away with it unscathed, he was dead wrong.
"Gray-sama needs to jump out the window."
Gray must have been crazy because he thought he heard Juvia ask him to jump out the second floor. But he wasn't crazy because Juvia Lockser was already standing near the window and had pushed the window door frame wide open.
"Hurry, before Erza-san and the others find out."
"I'm not jumping out of there."
"Gray-sama!" Juvia stomped over to where he was and dragged him near the end of the room. "The girls are already at the lobby waiting." She informed.
All Gray could think of was: how the hell did Juvia have the strength to drag his ass over there? (after last night's activities even) But he was resolute. He wouldn't jump out of a second floor building. Not in this lifetime.
Until, he heard the voice of their earlier guest return with another Fairy Tail mage in tow.
"I swear I could smell Gray-san's scent in there."
"Well, maybe Gray's scent rubbed off Juvia."
Gray recognized the second voice. It was Lucy. The conversation was getting louder. So, Gray figured the owners of the voices were heading to Juvia's room. He looked down on the flat grassy surface and felt a little dizzy. But it was either that or suffer the wrath of one Erza Scarlet. He'd choose the former any day.
There was another knock on the door. Time was up and Gray had to make up his mind.
"Fine!" He finally surrendered. He climbed up the windowsill and balanced himself on it when he suddenly remembered something.
"What is it Gray-sama?" Juvia worriedly asked only to be surprised at Gray's sudden action. The ice-mage managed to sneak a kiss on Juvia's cheek before jumping onto the ledge. "It's worth it." Gray declared.
Meanwhile, Erza Scarlet was waiting outside Fairy Hill's double door. She and the other girls were supposed to go swimming at the lake. They were already behind schedule. She was about to walk back inside to call them and lecture the girls about the importance of one's time (but mostly on how she hated to be kept waiting) when she heard a low thump near the bushes at the other end of the building. Shewalked over there to investigate only to find a man running away from her direction.
Erza had some suspicion. She looked up to inspect the building. A pair of drapes was waving out of an open window. She recognized the position and to whose room it belonged. Her widened eyes bounced back and forth the open window and the shrinking figure running into the distance. Red spread over her cheeks and her blood boiled when she finally put two in two together.
"Come back here Gray!"
Erza pursued Gray Fullbuster who ran like his life depended on it. Because it probably did.
