Camping?
Izuku did everything he could leading up to the final exams, he trained everyone, taught them what to do, and even helped improve their quirks. While he wasn't participating he was watching, it was as he said, class 1A was up against the teachers. Hovering above the testing area Izuku watched them go in pairs of two against their teachers.
He was pleasantly surprised to see most of them pass, however there were those who did. "They just have back matchups, oh well maybe next time" Izuku said landing beside Nezu and the other teachers.
"And that concludes the final exams, while it is true some of you didn't pass we've seen great improvement when it comes to your quirks. I suspect this is because of the Lantern here" Nezu said motioning to Izuku.
"Yeah! GL helped us a lot! If it wasn't for him some of us wouldn't even pass." Kirishima said.
"That's correct, it was thanks to GL's guidance, and for that we are grateful" Momo said bowing slightly.
Izuku blushed slightly, "It's nothing, you guys did most of the work. I just gave you some tips"
"Don't sell yourself short GL, you did good helping these students," said All Might.
Izuku glared at All Might, "Well I guess you're right, now that it's summer break I don't need to be on campus anymore. That means more time to relax" Izuku said, putting his hands behind his head.
"Actually GL, the students are going to quirk training camp over the summer," Nezu said breaking the news.
Izuku's eyes went wide, "No…"
"Come on GL, you signed up for this. You have to accompany the students" Aizawa said.
"B-But my break…" Izuku said, turning to the class. "C-Can they go without me?"
"Sorry but no, with the improvement they showed thanks to your training, you must go" Nezu said with a smile.
Izuku then looked Uraraka, she had a look of sympathy on her face, "Fine...I'll go"
The class cheered when Izuku said he would go, "Good, now get ready for the trip. We leave in a few days"
"Yes, sir!" the class responded.
Now that the day was done Izuku went back to the apartment to relax for a bit, it was now the afternoon hour when Izuku heard the doornob begin to jiggle, then open. "Izuku! I'm back!" Uraraka yelled out.
Izuku got up from the sofa, "Welcome back Uraraka, so what do you want for dinner? I was thinking maybe we could go out to eat."
"That sounds awesome! Actually Izuku, the class made plans to go shopping tomorrow and I was wondering if you wanted to go with us?" Uraraka said, throwing her bag on the chair.
Izuku thought about it, "Sure why not, they can finally meet Izuku instead of the Lantern"
"Cool, I'll let Mina know you're coming. She's the one who planned it…" Uraraka pulled out her phone and messaged Mina. Almost instantly she felt her phone vibrate. "Well it seems Mina can't wait to see you again"
"HA, if only she knew I was teaching her. So where are we going anyway?" Izuku asked.
"The mall, the guys want to get camping supplies but all I really need is bug spray." Uraraka said, taking off her jacket. "I'm going to take a shower real quick, decide on a place to go eat"
Izuku nodded, "You got it"
After showering and resting for a bit Uraraka and Izuku went out for dinner. After that they walked along the beach for a bit before heading back home. Izuku went out to patrol at night, he promised to get home early so he would be well rested for the shopping trip with her class.
It was now the next day as Uraraka was getting ready to meet her friends, "Come on Izuku, they are going to be waiting for us" she said sporting a yellow shirt, a white skirt, and black leggings.
"Alright, I'm ready. So how do I look?" Izuku asked, walking out of the room. He was wearing a green shirt with a black jacket over it and black pants.
Uraraka eyed him up and down, "You look amazing Izuku!"
"Good, now I won't be as embarrassed when you introduce me as your boyfriend," Izuku said, blushing slightly.
"You'll be fine, they are going to like you I guarantee it. Now come on, let's go" Uraraka said grabbing his hand and walking out the door.
After a quick trip via train, they were now at the mall. "Hey Ochaco!" a voice called out, turning around Uraraka saw her class waiting for her.
"Hey guys sorry we are late" Uraraka said walking towards her friends.
"We?" asked Mina.
Uraraka cleared her throat, "Guys I want you to meet Izuku Midoriya, my boyfriend"
Izuku then stepped forward, "Hi it's nice to meet you all" he said bowing slightly.
Everyone was stunned, "We knew it! You're the same guy as back then!" Mina said pushing her way to the front.
"Y-Yeah, we started going out recently and I figured since we were all going to be together might as well introduce him" Uraraka said.
The girls already knew who he was so there was no need for them to introduce themselves. So now it was only the guys, one by one they introduced themselves, everything was going smoothly until Bakugo saw who it was.
"D-Deku!?" A voice cut through everyone. "What the hell are you doing here!" Bakugo said, walking up to Izuku and grabbing him by his shirt collar.
"Bakugo! What are you doing?!" Kirishima said, trying to restrain his friend.
"Back off spiky hair!" Bakugo said, pushing him away. "Answer me Deku! What the hell are you doing here!"
"Long time no see Kachan, would you mind letting me go?" Izuku asked but Bakugo didn't loosen his grip.
"Bakugo, enough, let him go," Uraraka said, stepping up to him.
"Shut it round face!" Bakugo raised his free hand towards Uraraka, it looked like he was about to blast her.
Izuku saw this and reached out and grabbed Bakugo's wrist, "I wouldn't do that if I were you" he said staring at Bakugo.
"Shut up! You don't scare me, you orphan f*ck! You don't even have a quirk!" Just then Bakugo felt another hand on his other wrist. Looking down he noticed Izuku grabbed his other hand, the one he had on Izuku's collar.
As he grabbed his wrist Izuku began to overpower Bakugo. "W-What!?" Before he knew it, Izuku managed to free himself and was now twisting his wrist.
The sound of bones cracking was heard as Bakugo grunted out in pain. "I'm not the same worthless person you used to bully around Kachan. I won't take you hurting me or Uraraka lightly. So back off" Izuku said, pushing Bakugo away.
Bakugo grabbed his wrist, it wasn't broken but it was bruised. "Why you little!" he once again lunged at Izuku.
Izuku had the ring in his pocket in case he needed it, but he knew if he used it his identity would be revealed. Bakugo readied his explosions, but before he could hit Izuku, Kirishima grabbed his arm. "That's enough man, if you use your quirk here you'll get in trouble. Not only with the school but with the cops too"
Bakugo scoffed, "Whatever, I'm out of here" he said walking away from the group.
Kirishima bowed towards Izuku, "Sorry about him, he's usually more calm. I should go check on him, it was nice meeting you man, even though it was for a bit"
Izuku nodded, "No problem, I'll see you soon" he then turned to the rest of the class. "Sorry you had to see that, so shall we get going? From what Uraraka has told me, you guys still need a lot of stuff to buy for your trip"
Seeing that Izuku wanted to put this behind him the class nodded and went on their way. Izuku quickly made friends with them and even got their numbers. After buying what they needed the class decided to have some lunch. During all of this one student couldn't stop staring at Izuku, Todoroki was always the guy who had very little to say but something about Izuku caught his attention.
Alas as they were eating lunch and talking, Todoroki couldn't take it anymore. "So Midoriya, was it true what Bakugo said, that you are an orphan?"
The class stopped and stared at Todoroki, just then Momo who was sitting beside him took a jab at his side. "Todoroki! Y-You shouldn't ask stuff like that!"
Izuku chuckled, "Out of everything that went down, that was the last thing I thought someone would ask. To answer your question, yes it's true. I bounced around home to home until I finally decided to leave and live in the streets."
The class fell silent, "Oh don't feel bad guys, it was a blessing actually. I got to meet Uraraka because of it. Besides I got a job now and my own place so things couldn't be better" he said grabbing her hand.
"Oh yeah we've been meaning to ask, how did you two meet?" Ask Mina.
"I bumped into him while walking on the beach, he looked like he needed help so I helped him. Ever since we've been meeting at the beach and just talking." Uraraka said blushing.
"Aww how cute, a certain green colored vigilante is going to have his heart broken when he hears about this." Tsu said.
"Oh yeah the Lantern! Now that you're unavailable I can have a shot!" Mina said excitedly.
The girls all gave her a look, "Honestly you may have a chance, but don't get your hopes up" said Momo.
Izuku finished his meal, "I'll be right back, I just need to go wash my hands."
He went to the restroom and washed his hands but as he left a voice called out to him, "Hey green, mind if we talk for a second?"
Izuku recognised the voice, turning around he saw Shigaraki standing there wearing a black torn hoodie. "You!" Izuku tried to reach for the ring.
"Take out the ring and your friends die," Shigaraki said, showing Izuku the yellow glow of the yellow ring.
Izuku pulled his hand back, "What do you want Shigaraki!"
"Let's go sit down shall we?" Shigaraki said, walking towards a bench.
With no other option Izuku sat down beside Shigaraki, only to be grabbed by him by the arm. "You remember what my quirk does right? So you know what happens when I put the last finger on you, right?"
Izuku swallowed a lump in his throat, "Y-Yeah, I know"
"Good, now don't try anything. Even if you could stop me, I would still have enough time to kill a good amount of civilians with the ring." Shigaraki said with an evil smile.
Izuku felt the grip around his arm tighten, "Why are you here?" He asked in pain.
"I needed to clear my head, the voices...they kept yelling at me...do you hear them? The voices?" Shigaraki asked.
"N-No, I don't hear anything," Izuku responded.
"Don't lie to me!" Shigaraki yelled out, almost placing the final finger on Izuku. "I know you can hear them! You have a ring too, why don't you hear them!"
That's when Izuku had an idea what was going on, "The ring...it's fueled by fear. What your hearing is probably the screams of those that felt your fear. You need to take off that ring…"
"No...no...no... I can't...I can't, I need this power see. I need it to kill All Might...we are planning something real soon so you'd better be prepared for that Lantern." Shigaraki said with a twisted smile on his face.
"Maybe-Maybe if I kill you the voices will stop...Yeah that's it, all I have to do is kill you right here, right now" Shigaraki said as he lowered the final finger.
Izuku's eyes went wide, just as the finger was about to touch him, a voice was heard. "Hey you alright?" looking up he saw Shoto Todoroki.
"Y-Yeah I'm fine, don't come any closer!" Izuku yelled out.
Shigaraki then let Izuku go, "Oh I didn't know you were here with friends. I'll leave now, nice talking to you."
"Hey hold on…" Todoroki tried to stop Shigaraki but Izuku put his hand up.
"Tell me Shigaraki, what are you planning?" Izuku said, holding his bruised arm.
Todorokoi's eyes widened, 'Shigaraki, he's the one who attacked us at the USJ'
Looking back, Shigaraki's expression was blank, "The destruction of All Might and this so-called "hero" society. And there none who can stop me...follow me and people will die"
Izuku gritted his teeth as he watched Shigaraki disappear into the crowd, 'Damn it Shigaraki, no matter what you have planned I will stop you. No matter what it takes'
"Midoriya right? We need to go talk to the police, that was Shigaraki. He's the one responsible for attacking us at the USJ" said Todoroki.
Izuku nodded, "Yeah, alright go ahead and call them"
A short while later the police closed off the food court and began to speak to Izuku and Todoroki about what they saw. Izuku explained that he was coming out of the restroom when Shigaraki grabbed him and he didn't know why.
Class 1A was worried, especially Uraraka when they took both of them to the police station. Izuku told them not to worry, he would see them again. Uraraka tried to go with him to the police station but they refused citing security risks. She relented and told Izuku to call her the second he was out of the station, he agreed and went with the police.
In the station Izuku was taken to a room and was told to wait, after a few minutes Aizawa walked into the room. "Looks like trouble follows you everywhere you go huh kid?" he said, taking a seat.
Izuku shrugged, "It's part of my charm I guess"
"Apparently, well what did Shigaraki tell you? We both know the reason why he targeted you but what did he say?" Aizawa asked.
"He needed to clear his mind, but this is the weird part, he said something about hearing voices. Before he almost killed me, I asked what he was planning. He wants to see All Might dead and the destruction of our hero society. He didn't say how he would do that, but I can tell you this...he was serious about that Aizawa. The look in his eyes said it all, and honestly..I think he can do it" Izuku said thinking back to when Shigaraki grabbed him.
"I see, this must have been terrifying for you, go home and get some rest, we'll take it from here. Remember you still got to go with the students to the training camp." Aizawa said standing up.
Izuku nodded, "Yeah, I'll see you on monday then" he was escorted out of the station, some of the officers offered to give Izuku a ride home but he just said he would take the train and relax for a bit.
As he walked to the station Izuku turned into an alley and slipped on the ring. His costume appeared, "I swear Shigaraki, I am going to make you pay for threatening my friends"
With that Izuku took off into the air and headed straight to Uraraka's apartment. It was already night time when Izuku landed on the balcony, opening the sliding door he walked in. "Uraraka? Are you here?" he announced himself to a dark room.
Just then someone jumped out of the shadows, panicking Izuku almost blasted whoever that was but stopped when he noticed it was Uraraka hugging him. "U-Uraraka! You scared me…"
The grip around him tightened, "Izuku! Thank goodness you are alright. When I saw you being taken away...I...I…"
Izuku smiled and hugged her back, "It's alright Uraraka, I'm here now and nothing happened."
She nodded, "Alright, no patrolling today. Tonight you stay home with me"
"Alright alright, no patrolling today" Izuku took off the ring. "There, better?" he asked, lifting Uraraka's face by the chin.
"Much better, now come on let's get some rest. It's been a long day" said Uraraka. Izuku agreed and went straight to sleep.
The next couple of days went by quickly, Izuku would spend his nights looking for Shigaraki but couldn't find him. It was now the early morning and Uraraka had already left for school, Izuku on the other hand was told to go in a little later. Since this trip was going to take more than a day Izuku took the power battery with him, creating a belt he latched it on and off he went.
In a few minutes Izuku landed in front of class 1A, "Hey guys"
Everyone turned to see GL land in front of them, "Hey lantern, glad you can make it" Aizawa said, walking towards Izuku.
"Aizawa...where are the buses?" Izuku asked, looking around.
"The buses already left, class 1B took them" he said.
This confused Izuku, "What about class 1A? How are they meant to...oh…"
Aizawa smiled, "You got it, so if you would. We'd much like to leave already"
Izuku sighed, "Fine! Step back a bit"
Aizawa backed away, pointing his ring towards an open part of the school, he began to create a V-22 Osprey aircraft. The class was in awe when they saw the giant aircraft appear in front of them, "I-Is that thing safe?" Iida asked.
"The ring only allows those with pure hearts on, if you don't have a pure heart it will shock you" Izuku said turning to the class.
The class wasn't sure about this anymore, Izuku couldn't hold his laugh anymore. "I'm just kidding guys, it's safe. Come on you guys, you can trust me"
They all looked at each other, Uraraka was the first one to step onto the aircraft. Putting a bit of pressure on her foot, she saw that it was solid. "It's alright guys! It's safe, come let's go"
The class quickly followed, and soon enough they were all on board. Izuku sat in the front, while Aizawa sat beside him. "Do you even know how to fly this thing?" asked Aizawa.
"Nope not one bit" Aizawa's eyes went wide. "Don't worry, I'll get the hang of it soon enough. It's just like a video game right?"
"Ummm, maybe this was a bad idea. Let me call Nezu…" but before Aizawa could unbuckel himself Izuku fired up the engines.
"Don't be such a worry wart Aizawa, just sit back and relax. We'll get there in no time" Izuku said as they began to levitate off the ground.
Izuku then reached for the radio, "Ladies and gentlemen, I hope you are all strapped in and holding onto the safety rails because we are about to set off on our trip. So as most of you say, PLUS ULTRA!"
Izuku pushed a button, which transformed the rotors into jet engines, pointing them towards the horizon he stepped on it. Green fire began to spew out of the engines, everyone inside felt G-Force as the aircraft began to gain speed.
Normally the trip would take about 3 hours on a bus, but with Izuku it would only take 30 minutes. They were now over a large forest, "We are here GL, set her down there" Aizawa said, pointing to a cliffside.
Izuku put down the aircraft slowly and carefully, "Alright everyone we are here. Grab your things and head on out, single file please"
With wobbly legs everyone grabbed their stuff and got off, "So how was the ride?" Izuku asked, making the aircraft disappear.
"G-GL, we like you but...let's not do that again," Kirishama said, holding back the urge to barf.
"Was it really that bad?" Izuku asked the rest of the class. They all nodded, "Huh, my bad, next time I'll take it slower"
"They should be here any minute now," Aizawa said looking at his watch.
"Who should be here?" asked Izuku.
"Who other than the Wild, Wild...Pussycats!" two women suddenly appeared near the cliff's edge. In front of class 1A stood two women, one had blond hair and blue eyes, the other had brown eyes and reddish hair. They were both wearing cat paws and tails.
"Class meet your instructors for this training camp, these are the Wild Wild Pussycats. They are heroes that specialize in mountain rescue and they can teach you a thing or two. Over the course of this week they will be overlooking your training, of course along with GL here" Aizawa explained.
"So this is the famous vigilante, but he's just a kid?" Pixie-Bob said eyeing Izuku.
"You can't judge a book by it's cover, Pixie-Bob, anyway it's nice to finally meet you GL I hope we can get along," Mandalay said with a smile.
Izuku nodded, "Nice to meet you too, so who's the kid?" he asked, pointing to a small boy with a red hat.
"Oh that's my nephew Kota, we are taking care of him" Mandalay said. "He's a bit shy but he's a good kid"
"Now that introductions are out of the way, Mandalay, Pixie-Bob, I think it's time to start" said Aizawa.
They nodded, "Alright everyone listen up, see that mountain over there?" Pixie-Bob said pointing behind her. "We have a campsite at the base of that mountain, it's 9 am, so you have until 12:30 to get there"
"B-But that's so far away!" Mina said, backing away.
"Yeah, no way we can get there in time, I think I'll ask GL for a ride" said Kirishima.
Mandalay then jumped behind them, "Sorry but you guys are taking the scenic route today" placing her hands on the ground it began to rumble and break apart. Before long she created a giant wave of rock and dirt.
Some of the class tried to escape but Izuku created a construct wall around them, "GL! Why! We trusted you!"
Izuku smiled as the wave of earth launched them off the cliff, "Sorry but this is how you learn. I'll see you all at the campsite"
"Thanks for the assist GL, now it's time for my creations!" Pixie-Bob said, activating her quirk.
Izuku looked down to see giant rock creatures begin to form, "oh that is so cool!"
"Yes, yes it's most impressive, now can we head to the base camp?" Aizawa asked.
"Oh yeah sure, come on I'll take you there. Let's go Kota" Mandalay said but before they left Izuku stopped them.
Izuku created a large green construct platform, "My way is faster" he said, taking off into the sky. "Hold on!" He said flying towards the base camp.
Unknown Location
"Kurogiri, are the new members ready to go?" Asked Shigaraki.
"Yes sir, they are waiting for your orders," said Kurogiri.
"Good, tomorrow we finally show that pesky class 1A that we mean business. They won't leave that mountain alive" He said as the glow of the yellow ring shined.
"That reminds me, we received an interesting message from an unknown source. They claim to be part of the Green Lantern's family" said Kurogiri.
"Oh, I thought we already investigated his family? So who are they to him?" Shigaraki asked curiously who it was.
"Master said to bring them to you, so give me a second" Kurogiri said, opening a portal beside him.
The portal opened up to reveal a woman with long green hair and emerald green eyes. "Your boss says you know where my son is?"
