AN: And we are back with another chapter! This one is a slow chapter, this is meant to set things up for the next arc so sorry there's not alot of action. Anyway thank you all for reading my story, so without further adieu let's just jump into it!
Aftermath
Shortly after the fight Izuku, Uraraka, and All Might were all emitted into the hospital. Out of the three All Might had the less serious injuries. In all the excitement and confusion Uraraka completely forgot that she was stabbed through the back thanks to Toga.
Recovery Girl kissed Uraraka a few times and after an overnight stay in the hospital she was allowed to go home. UA had given all the students the week off to deal with the retirement of All Might.
Uraraka went to check on Izuku before she left. Izuku's injuries were severe, he took quite the beating from Shigaraki. During the fight Shigaraki had actually managed to break one of Izuku's arms.
Recovery Girl managed to heal him but he still had to keep his arm in a sling for a day or two. As the two were about to head home they were stopped by Aizawa who was accompanied by the police. "Uraraka, GL, there is someone who wishes to speak with you." said Aizawa.
Izuku looked at the police commissioner, who was actually a dog. "So you are the famous Green Lantern." he said staring down at Izuku.
"Yeah that's me, so what do you want? I'm really tired right now and just want to go home to rest," Izuku said, narrowing his eyes.
The commissioner grinned, "Oh? Is that how you talk to the person who can literally decide if you are labeled a criminal?"
Izuku's ring began to glow green, "Huh?"
Uraraka who was in her star sapphire uniform grabbed Izuku's hand, "GL, please don't strain yourself…"
Calming down Izuku let the glow around his ring subside, "I'll ask you again, what do you want?"
"I came here to thank you, both of you" he said bowing his head. Izuku and Uraraka looked at each other, "Your actions that night saved the lives of countless people and for that I can't thank you enough…"
Izuku smiled, "Please raise your head commissioner. We just did what anyone would do, so there is no need to thank us."
Uraraka nodded, "GL is right, our actions don't marit your praise commissioner."
The commissioner lifted his head, "Even so we in the police department want to recognise you both for your achievements. That being said, please take these" he then handed them medals.
Izuku's eyes went wide as he grabbed one of them, "Thank you, really thank you. But the real heroes deserve this, so please give it to them" he said, handing back the medal, Uraraka did the same.
The commissioner was surprised but smiled, "I'll hold onto them for you. Anyway that was all, if you ever need any help please don't hesitate to come and visit me."
Izuku watched as the commissioner walked away leaving only Uraraka and Aizawa with him.
"Oh that reminds me, GL. Nezu wants to formally invite you to join UA as a student" said Aizawa. "Nezu has already given permission, and most of the teachers have agreed to it, all that is needed is your decision."
Izuku was taken back by this sudden surprise, "I-I don't know what to say...I mean going to UA has always been a dream of mine but…"
"Don't feel pressured to accept right now. Think it over, just know that if you accept your identity will be revealed. If you don't accept, you will just go back to being a mentor to the hero class." Explained Aizawa.
"Yeah, I should think this over. But for now I just want to go home and rest," Izuku said with a smile.
Aizawa nodded, "Teenagers, always the lazy bunch" he said, turning around from the two.
Izuku smirked, "Says the guys who sleeps during lessons"
Uraraka then squeezed his hand, turning around he found Uraraka yawning. "Come on GL, I need to rest"
"Alright, alright, let's go then. I'll see you later Aizawa" said Izuku as they began to float in the air.
Aizawa turned as the two took off into the sky, "Later kid"
With that Izuku and Uraraka took off into the sky leaving behind a trail of green and violet.
Making it back to Uraraka's apartment they landed on the balcony and went in. As soon as they did they both took off their rings.
They then breathed a huge sigh of relief and threw themselves on the sofa. Izuku grabbed Uraraka and wrapped his arms around her waist. "This is heaven"
Uraraka giggled, "Me or the sofa?"
"Both" said Izuku burying his face into her chest.
"Izuku stop, that tickles" she said playfully pushing him. However she stopped when she noticed Izuku with his eyes closed.
Uraraka smiled, "Looks like he fell asleep, he must have been really tired" she then hugged him. "Rest well Izuku" with that Uraraka kissed him on the forehead and made herself comfortable.
The two drifted off to sleep, it may have been sunny outside but they didn't care. It was time to rest and that's what they intended to do.
It wasn't until the late hours of the night when Uraraka woke up. Where Izuku once laid asleep was now empty, she got up and looked around but couldn't find him.
Walking over to the table she found a note that read, "Went out for a flight, I needed to clear my head."
"He must be still thinking about the offer he got about attending UA. Wait a minute...he still has a messed up arm, he shouldn't be using his powers." Said Uraraka crumpling up the note.
However she then sighed, "Oh well, it's not like I can stop him." She then walked over to the balcony. "Just stay safe alright Izuku"
Over the city Izuku floated in mid air in a construct bubble. "If I go, I could be closer to Uraraka without worrying about the whole teacher thing. On the other hand if I go everyone would know who I am"
Izuku grabbed his head, "Awe man this is a tougher choice than I thought." He then looked up to the starry night. "God I wish you were still here Maria, you always gave the best advice."
1 Week Later
During the week of break Nezu thought it would be a great idea to make UA into a boarding school. Throughout the week All Might and Aizawa went to everyone's homes and got the permission of everyone's parents. This included Uraraka, much to Izuku's dismay.
This meant that Uraraka would be moving out of her apartment, which also meant that Izuku had nowhere to go. Even so, Izuku helped Uraraka move all of her stuff and some of the other students' stuff into the new living area.
"Thank you again GL for doing this," Aizawa said standing outside of the new dorms.
Izuku created green construct golems to help move with the move in process. "No problem, happy I could help. Although with Uraraka moving out it means I have to find a new place to stay."
"Right, you stayed with Uraraka. Well you don't have to worry about that, Nezu actually thought about that and is allowing you to stay with the students." said Aizawa.
Izuku lost focus causing his constructs to shatter, "Hey! GL what gives!?" Mina yelled out as one of her boxes was now on the floor.
"S-Sorry about that!" refocusing Izuku created the golems once again. "Now, you want to run that by me again?"
"Nezu said you can stay here in the dorms. Given your circumstances and the fact that you helped us a lot, it's the least we can do." said Aizawa.
Izuku smiled, "Someone wants me close by...you guys are trying to keep an eye on me aren't you?"
"I will neither confirm or deny that but just think of this as a reward." said Aizawa with a grin.
"I have to thank Nezu later, so where is my room?" asked Izuku.
The layout of the dorms was simple, it was 5 stories tall with two wings, guys in the left wing and girls on the right, with a common area where they could hang out on the ground floor. Izuku's new room was about at least 5 times bigger than the one he had at the orphanage, "I-Is this all mine?" asked Izuku looking around.
Aizawa nodded, "Sure is, we thought you'd still want to go out and go do your vigilante stuff so we put you and Uraraka on the top floors. That way you can come and go without worrying about the other students."
"Thank you, really thank you. This is more than I deserve," Izuku said, sitting down on his new bed. "If only Maria could see me now, she would probably tell me to make sure it stays clean, share the room with the twins, or…" Izuku then felt something wet run down his face.
"GL, you're crying…" said Aizawa.
Izuku wiped away the tear, "S-Sorry, I was just remembering my past that's all,"
"I may not know what you went through in your past but I do know this, you're not alone anymore. If you ever feel like talking to someone don't hesitate to talk to me or anyone for that matter." Aizawa said placing a hand on Izuku's shoulder.
Izuku nodded, "Thanks, I appreciate that."
"Anytime, so have you given it some thought about joining UA?" asked Aizawa.
"I have, but I'm still not sure. I like to keep my identity a secret but I know that won't last forever. So I came up with a compromise of sorts, the student's exam for their provisional licence is coming up right?" asked Izuku.
Aizawa nodded, "That's right, it's next week actually. What do you have in mind?"
"I will train them like I always do. If they all pass I'll join UA as a student but if even one of them fail I'll just go back being a regular mentor to them." said Izuku.
Aizawa thought about it, "That sounds fair." he then got up. "Alright now that that's out of the way, where is your stuff? I know you may not have a lot but you must have something."
"Not really, besides some clothes, all I have is this ring and the lantern battery," Izuku said holding the lantern battery.
"You should really buy some stuff, well I can't really say anything I'm a minimalist so I like how things are. Come on, some of the students still might need your help…" said Aizawa as they both made their way back down to the common area.
As they got off the elevator they found everyone around Uraraka, "Come on tell us! Is Midoriya really GL?" asked Mina.
Uraraka waved her hands in front of her face, "I-I don't know what you are talking about!"
"Don't play dumb with us Ochaco, we have evidence!" Toru said, sticking her phone in Uraraka's face.
Pressing play, a video of Uraraka's fight with Toga began to play, "I love GL! More than anything in the world! No matter what you do to me, I will always love him!"
The video cut out, "See! You said you love GL! But we've met your boyfriend, so unless you are cheating on him. Which I highly doubt you are, that means Midoriya is GL!" Mina said, poking Uraraka.
Uraraka blushed, she didn't know that someone was recording. "I-I...well you see..the thing is.." she then looked over at Izuku.
Aizawa smirked, "Yeah I thought this would happen. Some of these students aren't the smartest but they can put two and two together. So what are you going to do? They won't stop until they have answers."
Izuku sighed, "How troublesome…" he then walked over to them.
That's when Mina saw Izuku, "So are you really Midoriya?"
"No, if you want proof. Then have Uraraka call him, I'm sure she has his number." Izuku said motioning to Uraraka.
Mina thought about it, "Fine, but put your hands up. I don't want to see any funny business. Uraraka, call Midoriya."
"Fine, but I'm only doing this so you can leave GL alone." Uraraka then reached into her pocket and pulled out her phone. 'W-What does Izuku have planned? Once I call him his identity is going to be revealed!'
Putting it on speaker the phone began to ring, after two rings Izuku picked up, "Hey Ochaco, what's up?"
Uraraka was shocked, "H-Hey Izuku, nothing much, I was just wondering if we are still on for Friday?"
The class all looked at Izuku, they made sure his hands were up and his lips weren't moving. "Yeah of course, I wouldn't miss it. Actually I was just about to call you, I saw the news and wanted to make sure everyone was alright"
Uraraka smiled, "Yeah, All Might, Star Sapphire, and GL managed to save the two that were captured."
Just then someone else's voice was heard, "Midoriya! Get back to work!"
"Y-Yes sir! Sorry Ochaco I'll call you once I'm out alright?" said Izuku much quieter than last time.
"Alright, be careful alright, I don't want you getting hurt like last time." said Uraraka.
"No promises, alright Ochaco, talk to you later." and with that Izuku hung up.
Uraraka put down her phone and turned to her classmates, "Happy?"
Mina looked at Uraraka and back to GL, "For now, something fishy is going on and I'm going to find out what!"
"Can I put my hands down now? This feels like I'm getting arrested…" Izuku said still with his hands up.
"Oh right, sorry about that. We just had to make sure you wouldn't try anything funny with that ring." said Momo.
"Speaking of rings, Ochaco, where is yours? Ribbit" asked Tsu.
"Oh I have it somewhere safe. I got talking to Mr. Aizawa and he said I should train with my own power before relying on the ring." explained Uraraka.
"I see, so can you use it during the provisional license exam?" asked Jiro.
"Sadly no, the judges deemed it "too powerful" and "unfair" for me to use against others. Which I guess they are right, but still I wish I could have used it." said Uraraka.
"True the ring is powerful but the ring itself isn't powerful. It's the person wearing it that makes it powerful. Remember what I told you, the ring is only limited to your imagination. Set your mind free and you can do just about anything." said Izuku walking towards the group.
"Wise words GL. What he just said also applies to everyone here, your quirk is only as strong as you want it to be. That is why GL is going to put you through hell this week in order to help you guys get ready for the provisional license exam." Aizawa said with a smile.
Izuku smirked, "Oh I got something special planned for you all." the whole class felt a cold shiver run down their spin.
The training was brutal, the last session couldn't even compare to this one. Izuku wanted to make sure that everyone passed. However half way through the week he got a call on his ring.
Ganthet had called him to let him know that the guardians wished to speak to him about the events that transpired on Earth. Izuku agreed, so half way through the class's training he had to leave.
Izuku apologized, but the class understood and told him to be safe. Uraraka watched on in worry as he disappeared into the sky and into deep space.
On Oa Izuku was questioned about what happened and on how he was able to wield two rings of different emotional spectrums.
Truthfully Izuku had no idea how he was able to wield the violet ring. He assumed it was because he had a relationship with Uraraka and she allowed him to wear it.
4 Days Later
After four long days of answering questions and training with the other green lanterns, Izuku was allowed to leave. Although before he left Izuku swore never to wear another colored ring, and most surprising was that Ganthet was the most adamant about this.
With little option Izuku agreed never to wear a different colored ring. As he prepared to leave Izuku was stopped by Ganthet, "Midoriya, a word before you leave?"
"Sure Ganthet, what's up?" Asked Izuku.
"Tell me, how did you feel wearing another colored ring?" Izuku raised an eyebrow to this question.
"How did I feel? Hmmm, stronger I guess, I could feel my power growing as soon as I slipped on the ring." Said Izuku, looking at his hands.
"Interesting, did you perhaps feel, superior? Like you can control anything?" Asked Ganthet.
"Y-Yeah, at that moment I felt invincible…" creating a fist Izuku gave a smirk.
Ganthet saw his change in facial expression, "Midoriya?"
Izuku shook his head. "Sorry, I let my mind wander...Don't worry Ganthet, I already promised never to put on another ring."
Ganthet nodded, "Very well. Off you go then, I do believe someone back on Earth is waiting for you, are they not?"
Izuku blushed, "H-How did you?"
"I am a guardian Midoriya, I know everything…" Ganthet said with a smile.
Back on Earth
Class 1A was tired, they had just gotten done with their provisional hero license exam. To the delight of Aizawa only 2 of them failed, the rest passed. "Man, thank God that's over!" Mina said, throwing herself onto the sofa.
"Tell me about it, if it wasn't for GL's training I would have failed!" Kamanari said slumping on a chair.
Uraraka smiled at her class, "Yeah it was pretty tough, but we made it guys!"
"Well not everyone…" Kirishima said standing in front of a very pissed off Bakugo.
Bakugo and Todoroki were the only two students that didn't pass. "Test was rigged from the start!" He barked out.
Todoroki said nothing as he walked up to his room, "Guess he's not taking failing the exam well." Said Momo watching him leave.
"He'll be fine, I hope. In the meantime we should go celebrate! Who's up for some pizza!?" Mina said sitting up right.
The class all raised their hands, "Hey, is no one going to invite me to this party?" A voice said coming from the entrance.
Turning around they found Izuku standing there with pizza boxes in each hand. "GL! Your back!"
Izuku walked over to the table and placed down several boxes of pizza, "Sure am! Sorry I couldn't be there to see you guys but I brought this, so hopefully it makes up for it."
The class all began to grab slices, "Thanks GL!"
"No problem, enjoy it while it's hot." Izuku then turned his attention to Uraraka. He smiled as their eyes met.
"So, I guess you heard who passed and who failed?" asked Uraraka with two slices, one for Izuku and one for herself.
Izuku grabbed the slice, "Thanks, and yeah I did. Shame really, I made a deal with Nezu. If all of you passed I would have joined UA as a student."
"Wait what!" The class all yelled out in unison.
"GL could have been a student if we all passed! Man, now I really feel bad that those two failed. It would have been cool to have him as a classmate." Sero said.
"Right, damn, we also would have found out who he really is." Mina said, taking a bite from her slice.
"Better luck next time, for now I'll keep my identity a secret." Izuku said, winking as he grabbed another slice.
However all throughout the day Bakugo stared at Izuku from across the room. It was now around midnight and everyone was about to get some sleep but as Izuku and Uraraka were going up stairs Bakugo stopped them. "You two come with me,"
"Why?" asked Uraraka.
"I have something to say to you two and I rather not say it out here." Izuku and Uraraka decided to humor Bakugo and followed him outside towards ground Beta.
"Alright Bakugo, you dragged us out here, now what?" said Uraraka stopping in the middle of the road.
Bakugo who was a few steps in front of them stopped and turned around, "How long were you going to keep it from me?" he asked, pointing at Izuku.
"What are you talking about?" questioned Izuku.
"Stop! You can trick the others but you can't trick me, I still remember your stupid face. You disappeared after middle school and I've always wondered where you ended up." Bakugo said yelling.
Izuku sighed and let the green mask around his face disappear, revealing his face. "It's been a while Kachan…just one question. Since when?"
"Since the USJ, I recognized your voice while you were fighting the Nomu. Even then I still wasn't sure, but that all changed during the fight with All Might and All For One. That bull dog looking alien yelled out your name during the fight and I was close enough to hear it." explained Bakugo.
"So now what? Are you going to expose my identity?" asked Izuku.
Bakugo stepped up to Izuku. Uraraka readied herself to jump in if Bakugo tried anything but instead she was shocked when Bakugo suddenly hugged Izuku. "You damn idiot! After I heard what happened to the orphanage I thought you died! I thought I lost the chance to say I'm sorry…"
Uraraka was taken back by Bakugo's sudden change, "You wanted to apologize? For what?"
"I used to pick on him, call him useless but during the time when I had the red ring I could feel it. His hatred towards me, at first I didn't know why but once I figured it out who he was it all began to make sense. I'm sorry Midoriya." Bakugo said, breaking from the hug.
Izuku sighed, "Look Bakugo, I don't hate you for what you did to me. I was angry but like you, I learned that hate isn't the way…" he walked towards Uraraka and grabbed her by the waist. "...I found another way thanks to some help."
Bakugo smiled, "I see, well I do hope one day I can make it up to you. Don't worry I won't tell anyone who you really are."
Izuku nodded. "Good, now to deal with the other thing." Izuku turned around. "You can come out now."
Uraraka and Bakugo were confused, that is until they saw All Might creep out of the shadows, "I'm surprised you noticed me,"
"Most powerful weapon in the universe, remember?" said Izuku lifting his ring up.
All Might scoffed, "Right, how could I forget."
"What do you want All Might? I know you followed us for a reason." said Izuku, getting slightly annoyed.
"I honestly thought you two would fight, apparently I was wrong." All Might said stopping in front of Izuku.
"Always the teacher aren't we All Might? Well doesn't matter, let's go back to the dorms." Izuku put on his mask and created a platform for everyone to stand on. Uraraka and Bakugo got on but All Might didn't. "What's the hold up old man?"
"Listen Midoriya there is another reason why I followed you, it's about the day that it happened…" Izuku's eyes went wide.
Izuku gritted his teeth, "Don't…"
"I know you still hate me and I honestly don't blame you...but please understand…"
"...Stop…"
"...I know you won't forgive me anytime soon or ever for that matter but…" All Might paused for a second. "...I don't think I ever said I'm sorry, about your family…"
Izuku's ring began to glow brighter, almost as he was charging up an attack but All Might kept going. "...I'm sorry I stopped you at the USJ. I'm sorry you had to go through all that pain."
Uraraka saw Izuku's hand tremble, she then turned to All Might, "I think that's enough All Might, now is not the time for this."
All Might looked down at the floor, "Very well, another day. Please take care…"
Izuku didn't say a word as they took off into the sky leaving All Might behind at the training ground. The group landed in front of the dorms and went inside, Izuku went straight to his room. Uraraka wanted to comfort him but she knew he needed some time for himself, what she found odd was that he didn't even go out patrolling that night.
Unknown Location
In the halls of an underground base a tall man with a plague doctor's mask walked, he then stopped in front of a door. Punching in the security code he walked in, inside was empty. Nothing but a bed decorated the room, on the bed sat a small child.
The child wore a short plain white dress, she also had bandages covering her arms and legs. She had red colored eyes and a small horn coming from her head. "Hello Eri, it's time to have a bit of fun again." the man in the mask said.
Eri shook her head, "N-No, please...I don't want to…"
But the man ignored her pleas. The man dragged her out of the bed and out of the room she was in. Eri was taken into another room filled with surgical tools. 'P-Please, someone...anyone...help me…'
AN: For a second there I was going to let Izuku join UA but I ultimately changed my mind. I like having him as a vigilante. Anyway it's about time for the Yakuza arc and I have some plans for that, also quick question. If I were to give Eri a power ring, what color would she wear? Not saying I will but for arguments sake.
