Baki moved his sight upwards, towards the pair of shinobi who wore the black cloaks. They weren't unknown to him, and for such he couldn't help but let his hands tremble slightly. He then turned to look at the opposite roof, and found two leaf shinobi, both wearing the typical jounin uniform. He recognized the green jumpsuit of one, and the beard and cigarette of the other.
Parallel to Baki's hands trembling, Asuma bit his cigarette out of nerves just from seeing those two men on the opposite side of the same street. One half of the cigarette fell on the roof, and the other one fell inside his mouth. He spit the other half, of course, but the taste of tobacco invaded the receptors of his tongue.
Guy himself couldn't say he wasn't intimidated, but he surely wasn't satisfied with how his partner handled pressure. There would be no more time for that, however, since the Sand jounin started climbing the wall to attack the two men in black cloaks.
Asuma sighed once Baki attempted the first punch, and nodded when Guy asked if he was ready. Soon enough, they were already on the other side of the street, on the opposite roof, facing the cloaked men.
The one of the long, black hair kicked the jounin of the turban away, leaving him in the perfect position for his companion to slash him in half with his giant sword. Nevertheless, the jounin of the green jumpsuit was swift enough to grab him and save him from the blade.
Next, Sarutobi followed, whom with his trench knives tried multiple times to damage the man of the gills. He failed, so the other ninja knocked him off from behind. Having recovered, Baki charged along the man of the bowl cut. He attempted a low kick on the black-haired man while Guy managed to punch the man of the blue skin multiple times.
The black-haired man jumped before the kick unbalanced him, and while still in the air, he made several hand signs that culminated in a huge fireball coming out of his mouth towards the Sand jounin, who barely managed to avoid it by rolling away on the floor.
After the fireball dissipated and the man fell, he was left open, and Baki knew it. But when he looked behind him, Asuma was running towards the blue-haired man instead. But Sarutobi didn't make it to his objective.
The long-haired man's eyes suddenly ignited in an intense red color, and he immediately intercepted the son of the Third, who failed to evade the kick to his head. Once the man of the beard was on the floor, the pattern in the red eyes changed to one resemble two blades clashing against each other.
"I don't think you'll achieve much avoiding me, Sarutobi." He said, his voice thick and cold. Then, he grabbed the man of the beard from the neck and put him right in front of him, and then dropped him to the ground.
Baki was perplexed when Asuma just dropped to the floor, as if he was dead. Guy kicked his opponent away to check if his partner was okay, and he sighed in relief once he confirmed he still had pulse.
However, this would turn against the jounin of the bowl cut, since the sword hit him from behind. Guy was surprised that it didn't cut him, the sword just hit him. He felt some unusual feeling of safety since the sword didn't cut him in half. A feeling that disappeared as soon as he felt his chakra being sucked at a fast rate, though. He put his hand over the sword and pushed it down, breaking the bandages that covered it and causing it to tear the skin of his palm.
Taking advantage of the sand jounin's distraction, the black-haired man took a blade out of his cloak and nailed it in his shoulder. Baki screamed in pain and fell on the floor, next to where Asuma was now laying.
Guy glanced at his fallen allies, and then back at his injured hand. He found himself surrounded by the two cloaked men, who now both held blades. Behind him, the man that resembled a shark smirked confidently because of their numerical superiority, while his partner remained expressionless and merely staring at their enemy.
The first move came from the one who resembled a shark, attempting an attack with the now uncovered sword, which was covered with spikes almost completely. Guy jumped up and barely managed to step on it before jumping away once again. His sandal was destroyed by the spikes of the sword, and so it fell off his foot as he was still in the air.
The man of the long, black hair limited himself to pointing his blade forward as his opponent had jumped directly towards him. It seemed lazy to his partner, and he was proved right as the leaf jounin jumped on the blade with the only foot that still had a sandal on. However, as soon as he touched the floor, he directly faced the pair of red eyes.
He closed his eyes as a reflex, but he was sure that the mistake was already done. To his surprise, after a couple of seconds, no illusion had been casted upon him. What he did notice, were steps approaching him. For such, he opened his eyes once again and checked his surroundings. While still looking at another direction, he used his injured hand to stop the enemy's blade, and even managed to take it and throw it away.
This proved useless once the man of the Sharingan took a second blade out of his cloak, and attempted to stab him once again. Guy had been reduced to just one hand, which made it more difficult to attempt any move other than dodging. As he grew more and more tired, he came to the conclusion that he had just one last card to play if he wanted to come out alive alongside his students and partners.
His eyes widened, however, as, in the blink of an eye, the sword that previously threatened to assassinate him was turned into several metal pieces. He was pushed back, and only then was he able to recognize his new ally.
The spiky hair, the teared up purple clothing, and the unusually muscular body for someone his age. The student of Asuma, Son Gohan, had been the one to rescue him.
The saiyan swiftly attempted several punches and kicks, which the cloaked man successfully dodged. Then, his silhouette vanished for a second, only to appear behind his opponent. Once gaining such position, he tried to hit the man's neck, but to his surprise, his hand was stopped before reaching its objective.
He took advantage and used the man's own grip to pull his arm back and then landed his knee on his back. After letting his arm go, he kicked the man away, and then turned to face the remaining cloaked man, who was approaching him.
Gohan stopped the blue-skinned man's fist, provoking an expansive wave to spread. Guy, injured and sitting as the boy handled two members of Akatsuki all by himself, was not amused by the wave anymore, since what he had seen prior had already been enough for him to increase his expectations.
Next, the cloaked man of the blue skin thrusted his sword against the boy with his remaining arm, and just as his other fist, it was stopped. The saiyan soon realized that the sword not only teared the skin of his hand, but that it absorbed part of his Ki. And so he released the sword, but just as it was thrusted against him once again, he felt an unusual heat increasing on his back.
He turned around and saw a gigantic fireball approaching him from afar. The saiyan opened his hand and, with support from his ki, split the fireball with an enhanced air current. Once having opened a path in the middle of the fireball, he observed through it as the user of the Sharingan approached him.
The saiyan jumped up and grabbed the spiky sword as it almost landed over his shoulder, also taking it from its wielder. He threw it against the black-haired man, who, after making several hand signs, stopped it with a water wall. The man of the Sharingan went through the same wall and recovered the sword, then throwing it back to his companion.
Gohan naturally tried to intercept the sword. However, a sharp stream of wind not only stopped him, but covered his skin with cuts. He turned around, giving up on the sword, and charged his masenko with two hands over his forehead. And while he managed to release it, the Ki wave missed and he was then hit by the sword, throwing him away and tearing the part of his torso's skin.
Before the boy fell down, the user of the Sharingan kicked him down and, after taking two steps of distance, once again released a giant fireball from his mouth. Unable to avoid it, the saiyan barely attempted to reduce the damage by tapping into his transformation.
What remained of his shirt had been burned, and so had been his skin, which if not severely burnt, it was cut or teared. What was new to the pair of cloaked men wasn't exactly his clothing or his injuries, but his blonde hair and the golden aura that surrounded his body.
The man that resembled a shark blinked, and the next thing he saw was the fist of the boy landing directly on his face, as well as blood escaping his nose. And as he was thrown away, his partner jumped back while gesturing hand signs.
This time, the wind became stronger, spreading the fire that already covered the city around them at a superior rate. This was followed by different hand signs, and then three individual and small fireballs that moved slowly through the wind. Gohan once again ran as quickly as he could behind his opponent, though he was punched him, his silhouette deformed into crows. And immediately after, the small fireballs exploded, catching the young saiyan.
The explosion threw the unconscious jounin outside of the roof, but Guy was able to jump and even used his injured hand to rescue the two of them. Once down on the main street, he looked to his right and, through the raging flames, saw their students evacuating people on the eastern gates of the city.
Back on the roof, Gohan found himself surrounded by what seemed to be clones of the black-haired man, as well as smoke that complicated his breathing. He launched several Ki spheres at each clone, only achieving to completely cloud his sight.
He felt several blades cutting his body before he forcefully dissipated the smoke by releasing his explosive golden aura. And once his sight was clear, what he saw was a pair of eyes, whose iris had an intense red color that quickly captured the saiyan's attention.
"The Sharingan?" Was all he could say before the burning city in the background turned into pitch black.
The black background soon started to acquire red details, until it eventually became mostly red. Hills, the grasslands, and, for some reason, the press team of Hercule. He was only able to recognize the place he was standing on until a crater formed. He looked down and recognized the head that was speaking to him.
And once he looked forward, the silhouette he faced triggered a shiver to cross his body. He wasn't even able to scream as Cell's foot crushed 16's head. A tear escaped his eyes as he opened his mouth, trying to push any sound out, but being unable to.
