I would love to hear from you, as I enjoy all of your comments in form of reviews, tweets, PMs.
Thanks to my wifey, for reading it through for me.
Chapter 19
"All the things I'm gonna do to you, Lauren."
A smirk formed on Bo's face when the realization of the past hours kicked in. With her eyes still closed, she turned her head sideways and kept them shut just for a little bit longer, inhaling the scents from last night still lingering in the air around her. The memories of toned muscles, soft skin and songlike noises flashed through her inner eye. And, good mother of everything sweet and salty, the tastes! Not to mention, Lauren smelled like a walk at the beach sounded: heavenly!
The smirk on Bo's lips grew into a fully grown smile. She - hand on heart - never ever felt like she did this morning ever before. Sore? Yes. Overwhelmed? Maybe. But there was something else, too. Something that rounded it all up and glued it together into this warm and fuzzy feeling. A feeling she only knew from watching her favorite rom-com romance movie – even though she never would admit on watching nor owning anything like that… DvD and Blu-ray - but, yes, anyway.
Bo opened her eyes carefully, hoping to be able to watch the blonde still asleep next to her.
"The f….?"
She was alone.
"Damn, Lauren."
The brunette muttered while sitting up. Looking around she spotted Sally on the nightstand on the other side of the bed. Bo rolled over and stretched out to get a hold on the device. Her naked chest slid over the cold sheets where the blonde had been laying, telling her, her Boss must have left the bed some time ago. One look at Sally's unlocked screen told Bo, she had thirteen missed calls, four unread emails and that the battery could use a recharge.
"Not even six. You'll better be ordering breakfast in bed, Lauren."
Bo got up and grabbed her boxer-shorts from the ground, where she remembered them being thrown at, after Lauren had peeled the brunette out of them. She still got goosebumps from the simple thought of her Boss' fingers all over her needy body.
Since her shirt from last night was somewhere over in the blonde's room, Bo took the blouse from yesterday and started buttoning it while walking to the bedroom door.
When the brunette walked into the main area she could see Lauren reaching for the door handle of the entrance. Well, or exit. Depending on how one looked at it.
"I'd like a croissant and some café au lait."
The blonde wore one of her black business suits that just looked so damn arousing on her. That gorgeous hair all loose and wavy and her Boss was obviously ready to start the day… without Bo.
A soft sigh escaped the blonde as she stopped in tracks when she heard the brunette's voice behind her.
"I have a lot of work to do."
Lauren didn't turn around.
"I know your workload. I'm managing your schedule. It's not even six, Lauren."
The blonde flinched. Not much but enough for Bo to notice.
"I didn't want to wake you up."
"Obviously not."
After a second of silence her Boss opened the door.
"Yes, so, okay."
Lauren went through without another word and closed it behind her.
"Are you serious?"
Bo wasn't having that. She power-walked through the living room, opened the door and was standing - arms crossed - next to the blonde, who was waiting for the elevator seemingly impatient.
They stood like that for a long second or two. The sound of fingertips tapping restlessly on a folder, the blonde was holding in front of her, filled the air. Bo was watching the scene until she couldn't stand it anymore.
"So…"
Bo took a deep breath, trying to swallow down those mixed feelings on her tongue before they could make their way past her lips and become words. Yes, Bo evolved! Brain before mouth. At least this time.
"Look who's running now."
"I'm not running. I'm going to work."
"At six?"
"Yes."
"As in morning."
The blonde just looked straight ahead.
"Yes."
Bo felt frustration climbing up her chest.
"C'mon, Lauren. Can we talk about what's just happening here."
A soft ding signaled the elevator's arrival and Bo could have sworn she had heard the blonde mumbling a silent prayer under her breath.
"Down?"
A young lift boy smiled shyly at them. Bo knew how she looked like, with her hair like a lion's mane and her half buttoned suit blouse showing off her washed out boxer shorts. Well, and probably a bit too much of cleavage. Her outfit told a whole story and the women's body language did the rest to let that guy's hormones steered brain - which obviously didn't get out of puberty yet - form most likely some pretty juicy pictures.
"I'll see you downstairs."
And with that her Boss stepped into the cabin. When the door was slowly closing the blonde looked up and met Bo's gaze. The brunette was to angry to read her Boss' expression.
A quiet 'sure' through clenched teeth was all she could manage to respond before she turned around and walked back into the loft.
"This day sucks balls already and it didn't even start yet!"
Banging the door into its frame, Bo threw her hands in the air and over her face.
"Ah!"
She didn't quite understand, why she was so angry. Bo wasn't one to be clingy after a night of passion. Usually, sneaking out before the crack of dawn was her signature move. She should be thankful, that she didn't need to deal with this the-morning-after small talk. She should feel refreshed and relaxed and everything good that came with a night like this.
She should. But she didn't . And she hated it.
Bo wasn't quiet sure if she was angry because of the fact that she indeed wanted this the-morning-after small talk or if it was because the blonde couldn't even look her in the eyes properly. Or maybe both?
She slept with her Boss. Yes. Did she think about the complexity of the situation? Well, yes. Just not in the heat of the moment. But to her defense: Who would have considered the pros and cons before being with a woman like that?
Well, okay. She did. Like over all those weeks and months, she had basically done nothing else. But she must have misplaced the imaginary sheet of paper when things got hot and steamy. There was just this strong pull towards the blonde. Bo stood no chance as soon as they were just as much as in the same room together. Maybe it was just Paris. Maybe normality back home would cool everything down again.
Not that Bo was expecting anything from Lauren. She really wasn't. At least she really tried to really not to. If there wasn't this little, tiny bit of hope that was waving in the back of her chest, that just wouldn't leave her the heck alone. So maybe what Bo felt in her lungs now, was… what? Disappointment? No comment. That's nobody's business. Don't fracking ask! Holy french bulldog, it's not even six in the morning!
"Freaking amazing goddess of sexy times!"
Maybe her brain was just still full of endorphins. Maybe those multiple little fires the blonde knew how to set underneath her skin had burned down Bo's rational mind. Maybe there were just too many maybe's here and maybe that just stunk!
"Shit fire and save matches! Okay! Just breathe."
A last squeeze of her fingertips against her shut eyes and the brunette continued her way into her room. Sally was greeting the assistant with the same old noise, jumping up and down for her attention, but Bo was to busy looking through the selection of clothes for today.
"This day can only get better, Bo. You're in Paris, you're young aaaand…"
Picking up a deep red suit with a black low-cut blouse and black heels let Bo find her smile again, that seemed to have gotten lost between the bedsheets.
"… ouh, and Petra just knows how to make you look de-freaking-licious."
At the time the brunette was done with her morning routine – minus that croissant and coffee – it was around seven thirty. What? She took her time, okay?
After she made her way down to her little office, Bo stopped in front of the open conference room door. The blonde was sitting at the head of the table, staring holes into the air. A cup in one and a pencil in the other hand.
From where Bo was standing, she could see sheets of paper wildly spread out on the table.
The usual order that Lauren loved to have, was nowhere to be seen. There was a thin line on the blonde's forehead that the assistant had not seen before. Lauren seemed far away with her thoughts and Bo could for certainty say, she had never seen anything or anyone as beautiful as this woman.
"Damn fracking hormones."
The brunette tried to shake off those wizzy-wazzy feelings in her chest. She wanted to get rid of these thoughts in her head. Oh and the pictures mini Bo must have taken last night. Snapshots of golden hair and warm brown eyes and swollen lips and… Bo squeezed her eyes shut.
"Stop it."
The sound of shoes on the hard, flagged floor behind her reminded the brunette of where she was. When she opened her eyes again, Bo found the blonde looking back at her. Even though Lauren kept a straight face, her features seemed more relaxed than before. Bo could see the longing in the blonde's glance even when the blonde tried her best to hide it. The brunette couldn't move a muscle. That little bit of rationalism she had tried to talk herself into shortly before she made her way to the conference room was gone.
It only took one look, one damn look of those whiskey browns and Bo felt as if she was drunk. She had thought, maybe she would get those feelings in check. After her mirror-pep-talk. She had taken at least ten to 15 minutes to talk some sense into herself. But these feelings, that made her body go crazy in ways she didn't understand nor wanted were back and, bloody nora, they got about ten times worse. Her heart was beating a mile a minute and a jolt of heat was blasting from her chest all the way down to her feet, leaving goosebumps all over her body and a thin layer of sweat on her palms.
Just breathe, Bo!
A group of men and women walked past Bo into the conference room. When the door closed behind them and blocked the view of the blonde - who wouldn't take her eyes off of the assistant - the brunette fell out of her trance. With a heavy sigh, she sat down on her chair.
Leaning back, she made sure to turn her back to the glass, that would have shown the scene inside the room behind it. She needed a break from this woman. She needed a break from these emotions. She needed a break from mini Bo and her damn mindf… -distractions.
"This day just really sucks."
Oh no, no. That didn't even cover half of it. This day really, really sucked. Bo was basically jobless. Everything that needed to be planned was planned and everything she used to do the other days was already done. Even those missed calls and waiting emails were answered by now. What was left, was Bo and her wandering thoughts.
Seconds became minutes became hours and all Bo did was getting one heatwave after another. If she didn't know better, she would have said it's menopause. If she didn't know better she could have blamed her breakfast-free start in the day. If she didn't know better… but she did and she couldn't stop slapping herself. Well, internally of course. She was in public after all.
Stupid, stupid, stupid.
"Okay, that's it."
Bo took Sally and opened the messages. Her thumbs flew over the letters and after she pressed 'send', she got up and left. Bo was moody and hungry, and she needed fresh air.
She didn't walk far. Just far enough. She found a small bistro, sat down, ordered, and tried to enjoy the view. Not long after she started eating, the waiter brought a glass of red wine.
She said, she didn't order that, he didn't understand, so she smiled and he left.
Bo was about to take her first sip when her eyes caught some guy who held a glass up himself, smiling.
Great! So that's where it came from.
Politeness wasn't her friend right now, but she tried and smiled back. Wine-o'clock or not, Bo didn't mind. She took a sip and when the guy made his move to come over to her, Bo took out Sally and dialed the first number that popped up. She mouthed her 'sorry' and 'I have to take this' and could relax again when Mister Wine-Guy turned around and sat back down.
Bo wasn't aware of the person mumbling on the other end. First when she heard her name being screamed into her left ear she noticed, that she had actually called someone.
"What? No, hey Kenz."
Bo was happy she didn't push the number of for example some certain blonde. She really didn't want to hear that voice now. She really didn't want to hear her voice right now. Only the thing was , that Bo really did want to hear her Boss' voice and that just rubbed the brunette the wrong way. She wanted to forget about this woman. Just for some hours at least.
Impossible? Have a wild guess!
"No, I'm sorry. I didn't really think about the time difference."
The brunette took another big sip of her wine. She started to feel less tense and more and more like herself again.
"Well, it was an emergency."
The food tasted even better with that glass of red.
"No, I'm not dying and no, I haven't met Ryan Reynolds either. I'm in Paris not… I have no idea where he even lives."
It was way too long that she heard the young Russian's voice.
"Well, okay then it wasn't an emergency emergency like in a Kenzi world, but anyway, it's good to hear your voice."
So, they talked. Better said, Bo talked. Kenzi managed to mumble an 'mhm' and 'aha' into the monologue here and there. Bo told her about the assistant job, about the blonde's behavior, about last night and with that Kenzi came to life.
"What? No! I'm not."
Bo's shriek outburst set all eyes on her. She turned a bit sideways and continued with a low voice.
"I'm not falling for her. She's my boss. I'm just annoyed is all. Where the heck did that even come from? You know I don't just fall for someone!"
All the joy and happiness Bo felt when she started talking to her best friend simply vanished into thin air.
"I didn't say that! No, I didn't say anything about best sex of my life, Kenz. That's what you made out of it."
And with that Mister Annoying and Mrs. Angry found their way back into Bo's almost relaxed blood-circulation.
"No, no, no, no. You twist my words here. Why would I even say anything like that?"
Bo didn't feel like eating anymore.
"You know what? I think you need to go back to sleep again, you're not making any sense."
With a half hearted 'bye' the brunette ended the call and took the last sips of her wine and coffee.
"What does Kenzi even know?!"
So what if Kenzi was usually right? It didn't make everything she said right and she definitely wasn't right about this now. So there's no need to talk about it for any longer. Good red velvet cheesecake! Enough!
In retrospective, alcohol and caffeine might not have been the best combination. The brunette wasn't aware of how long she had sat in that bistro nor how much she had actually been drinking. Now she just felt totally shaky and on edge and hyper in a weird way, which resulted into her almost running the short way back to the hotel. On heels! Just saying.
When she entered the lobby, she was greeted by the usual sight of black suits rushing in and out. Bo took a strong hold on her jacket in her hand while maneuvering through the crowd. The assistant was trying to avoid a frontal crash into one of the suits flying past her but lost her balance – which was already a bit off. Again heels, just saying – and smashed into another suit to her right.
"I'm so s…"
"Miss Dennis. I've been searching for you all afternoon."
Of course.
"Miss Lewis. I uh… was… "
The blonde apologized to the old, white men she was talking to and started walking towards the exit. Bo didn't know if she should follow her Boss or call it a day, when she heard Lauren's voice over the busy crowd.
"Are you coming?"
Bo's feet moved on autopilot. They had to speed up to catch up. Lauren was already through the door and halfway into a car, that was parked in front of the hotel, when the brunette managed to squeeze herself through the sea of business sharks. Joining the blonde on the backseat, Bo felt her heart racing. It was beating all the way up her throat to her ears and she almost didn't hear her Boss addressing her.
"Out for lunch?"
Lauren held up her phone. Quoting the sms Bo had sent earlier. Her face was back in Miss Lewis-mode and Bo wasn't sure when she had seen that look thrown at her the last time.
"Well, I had no breakfast and I didn't sleep much. I needed food."
The black window that separated the front-seats with the back moved down. The driver asked something in French Bo didn't understand, which her Boss answered - also in French - and the brunette just felt like throwing up from all the caffeine in her spinning in circles in her head.
"You look a bit pale."
The blonde glanced over.
"I'm fine."
With a nod Lauren turned her head back to read something on her phone.
"Where are we driving to?"
"My five o'clock."
Bo took Sally out, who screamed for a recharge again – that hour and a half had obviously not been enough. So demanding. - and scrolled through the appointments for today.
"Your five o'clock?"
The blonde just continued to stare at her screen.
"There is no five o'clock."
Bo scrolled up and down her calendar. She even double checked with her notes for today. There was nothing. Looking over to her Boss, Bo saw this fine line again she had seen earlier this morning.
"Lauren?"
A soft sigh escaped the blonde's chest when she raised her head to look into the brunette's eyes.
"My father sat this one up."
"Oh."
Bo studied the woman next to her.
"But why am I here? You usually have those meetings without your assistant."
Lauren looked away and outside the tinted window. Bo watched the blonde taking a deep breath before her bourbon-colored eyes settled back down on Bo's chocolate browns. A flash from last night crashed against Bo's frontal lobe and a tingle crawled up from her core.
You're just so damn beautiful.
Bo had to look away. She didn't need those feelings right now. Not when she wanted to be professional and maybe also still a little bit mad about the way the blonde had treated her this morning. The brunette was staring at Sally when she heard her Boss speak up.
"This is different. It's our biggest concurrent in the business and my father has been trying to partner up for over a decade. If we managed to get him to amalgamate with us, well, then we would have access to the Russian and Chinese market. That would give us…"
"More money? Not that you would need that."
Bo bit the inside of her cheek and squeezed her eyes shut to stop them from rolling sarcastically. That came out harsher than expected, or well, it shouldn't have found its way out in the first place.
Professional, Bo!
"Yes, more money."
The blonde's tone went from Lauren to Miss Lewis again and that little bit of anger she felt towards the blonde turned back into that gluey kind of frustration. The one that lingered on the chest and wouldn't leave easily.
Professional, Bo.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that."
"Anyway."
The blonde turned her phone back on and continued to do whatever it was she was doing. Swiping, scrolling and zooming in and out of weird scales and graphs.
"I need you to take notes and maybe reschedule meetings to make room for whatever they are willing to give us. He usually brings at least two of his assistants with him. Don't bother them. They are most likely just his strategy to make us feel uncomfortable. The last few times they just wrote on their laptops the whole time not once looking up."
"Okay."
Bo didn't feel like meeting this person at all. He sounded like a big, fat douche. But the car stopped, Lauren went out and the brunette didn't have time to think it through any longer.
The restaurant they met in was everything fancy. Red carpet, penguins that pulled out their chairs and more cutlery on the table than Bo had in her drawer at home. Okay that might not have been the hardest, because Bo only owned three knives, two forks and three and a half spoons. Don't ask. It's complicated.
The table they were seated at was big and round. Bo looked at Sally for the time. It was five and Lauren and her were still alone.
"He usually comes late."
The waiter came with some water and bread.
"You should drink something, you still look pretty pale."
Lauren didn't wait for an answer. She poured the crystal-clear liquid in one of the many glasses in front of Bo. The brunette felt so out of place, she was afraid she was breathing too loudly.
"Thanks."
She took a sip of the cold drink. It felt good on her tongue and down her dry throat. Bo looked at her Boss typing on her device as if there was no tomorrow. They were sitting quite close together for a table this large, but Bo didn't mind that at all. She got reminded of the gala and how nice it was. Well, until it wasn't anymore.
The blonde went through her open hair and Bo got a quick view of that delicate neck. She remembered the feeling of the sensitive flesh underneath her fingertips, and the taste of it on her lips and tongue. Frustration and anger were long forgotten. What was left now was this warmth in her chest and this tingle in her belly and Bo just wanted to make things right again.
"Lauren, I… uh."
The blonde looked up from her phone and towards the brunette who was struggling to find the right words.
"Look, I want to apologize."
Bo's eyes scanned the room before they dared to lock with her Boss' hazel browns.
"For this morning."
Lauren looked down on her hands.
"It's fine. Just forget about it."
For Bo it wasn't about who did what anymore. Or better said that this who tried to get away before the brunette had a chance to react.
"No, I mean. I really didn't mean to, you know, growl at you, or whatever."
Bo tried to get the blonde's attention from the fork she was rearranging for the tenth time back on her. So she reached out and carefully laid her hand on Lauren's. The blonde's eyes shot up with a sharp intake of breath and when Bo just thought she had made the biggest mistake, she saw that look in Lauren's eyes. The one she saw last night. The one before the blonde had kissed her. Bo's body was burning in places that definitely weren't appropriate in a place like this, or any place really, except of their private rooms maybe.
Mini Bo was hauling in the back of her head and Bo couldn't stop herself from stroking her thumb over the blonde's wrist.
"I just really… last night was just… I wasn't expecting that."
The tension between the two grew with every second they touched.
"And I guess I was hoping to wake up next to…"
"Lauren."
A man in his thirties approached the table. His dark blue suit jacket was hanging open over a white button down, tucked into his blue jeans. The blonde took her hand away from underneath Bo's and stood up.
"Pierre. I was expecting your father."
The man walked around, reached out to squeeze the blonde's hip when he leaned over to press his cheek to Lauren's into one of those kisses. Bo couldn't take her eyes away from the sight and she could feel mini Bo already preparing for battle, when he finally let go of the blonde. He sat down next to her, way too close for what it was appropriate for a business meeting and more importantly way too close for Bo's liking.
"Yes, he excuses himself."
His English held a heavy French accent and the way he waved the waiter over just tickled Bo the wrong way. His brown short hair was styled into perfection and even every hair on his eyebrows was perfectly in its place. When he turned back to Lauren he placed his hand on the blonde's forearm, leaning in just a little bit more. Bo didn't understand what he was saying, she really needed to step up her French.
"We need to keep this in English, Pierre, my assistant doesn't speak French."
Lauren looked over to Bo. Her eyes almost seemed apologetic and all Bo could do was nod. If this was a comic, there would probably be daggers flying from the brunette's eyes.
"I see. What a bummer. Everything just sounds better in French, but I guess my accent makes up for the lack of romance in the English language."
Bo felt like throwing up – and this time it wasn't the caffeine level in her body - but she smiled that smile she had practiced so often. She took out Sally and that little notepad she kept in the inside pocket of her suit jacket trying to look busy.
The meeting seemed never-ending. Bo didn't know how often that Pierre person had touched Lauren. She lost count after she started hearing the blood boiling in her ears. Her body was so tense, the tip of her pencil almost ripped the poor paper apart that she was writing on. The brunette took a sip of her sprite – it's better if she didn't drink more wine – and tried to calm herself down. Lauren didn't once look at the assistant, who was trying her best to not speak up and put that man in his place.
She couldn't understand, why Lauren would just let him grab her like that or lean in like this or freaking talk with that look on his face. As if he was hunting and the blonde was the prey. Bo snapped out of her own head and every thought of how-to-get-away-with-murder when she heard his voice speaking up again.
"Well, Lauren, I could put in a good word to my father for you."
"You could?"
The brunette could hear the surprise in her Boss' voice.
"Sure. I mean, I see the benefits for both of our companies here."
This obviously self-loving French placed his hand on top of Lauren's on the table while the other one played with a lock of her golden hair.
"The only thing is. What's in it for me?"
Lauren tried to take her hand away but that escargot of a man held her in place.
"Come on, Lauren. We could have so much fun together. And it would basically be for a good cause. Your father would be proud of you. Sealing the deal."
Bo was trying. She really was. Counting and shit. Mini Bo just wouldn't have that. She was boiling inside of the brunette. What was that creature still lingering all over the blonde thinking? The brunette was holding her fork and knife so hard, her hands were completely white. If Bo didn't act now, Mini Bo would.
"Excuse me."
The assistant placed her cutlery down next to her plate, took Sally and her notebook and stood up.
"It seems as if the official part is over. You find me in the car, Miss Lewis."
And she left. A little bit proud of herself for not making a scene, but the feeling of disgust and something else she couldn't quite place overpowered everything else. Bo made it to the door before she stopped in the entrance. She really tried. Like really, really. But she just couldn't shake this emotion off. The one she couldn't define. The one she always felt whenever someone, anyone got too close to the blonde. It felt like a thousand punches in the guts and burned all the way into her head. Usually she managed to shake it off, but usually seemed to be out of town for the night.
"C'mon, Bo. It was just one night and this is not your fight."
The brunette stopped in the doorframe looking up to the ceiling.
"Just one night, not your fight. Just one night, not your… argh for Pete's sake!"
And she turned around and walked back. Somehow the blonde managed to make it through that thick, sticky barrier of I-don't-give-a-damn - Bo had managed to build up over the years – into the maybe-I-do-care-a-bit zone. Whatever battle she was running into, mini Bo was already on her war-horse and ready to take out whoever she needed to. Xena style.
When she stepped around the corner and into the dining area, she crashed right into the blonde, who herself was on her way out.
"Ooph."
Her Boss was holding Bo up who almost fell backwards into a glass vitrine with very expensive looking bottles of wine.
"You okay?"
Lauren looked at her questioningly.
"Me? Yeah, yes. Sorry. I didn't see you coming."
"Yeah, you had quite some speed coming around that corner."
Bo got lost in Lauren's gaze and forgot the world around them and those irritating feelings inside of her for a minute.
"Yeah… yes… I…"
"Did you forget something?"
Lauren turned her head back to where they had been sitting, searching for whatever Bo could have left.
"Well, honestly? You. I couldn't leave you alone with this Crouton or was it Crétin? Anyway, who does he think he is?"
Lauren turned back around, staring at the assistant before she cleared her throat and took a step back. The blonde's gaze dropped to her feet with her hair like a shield in front of her face. She was fast, but Bo still saw her Boss' reaction. It was a mix of surprise, appreciation and something the brunette had not expected to see in those light brown eyes. Shame.
"Well, okay."
"Yes."
"You ready?"
Bo nodded.
"Let's get out of here."
The drive back was awkward. Bo really wanted to know, what Lauren had answered to what Pierre was asking from her. But at the same time, she didn't.
There was a weird kind of tension around them and the quietness stretched out like a thick rubber-band until it was just too odd to start a conversation. Bo tried to keep her eyes busy looking at Sally in her hands. They just wouldn't listen to her plea to not sneak a peek at the blond, only to find Lauren's whiskey brown's rushing back from Bo to watch the screen in her lap.
The ride had felt like days when they finally arrived at the hotel. If Bo had thought it couldn't get any worse than in the smallness of a car, she definitely didn't put the two square millimeters of the elevator into calculation.
They stood so damn close next to each other, the brunette could feel her Boss' heat streaming through both of their clothes. After they entered the apartment and when the door fell into it's lock there was this silence screaming at them so loudly that Bo was afraid to breathe out.
"I'm, uh."
Lauren pointed to her room.
"Yeah. Yes sure. Me too. I…"
Bo crashed into the back of the bar while slowly moving backwards.
"I'm good. All good."
Her Boss just nodded and walked past Bo and into her room.
The brunette sighed and stared at the ceiling.
"Oh my…"
Half an hour later Bo was freshly showered, laying on her king size in jogging pants and a tank top. Her head was on speed and she needed to cool down all those thoughts running around. There were pictures of last night with images of that dude's hands all over the blonde and these words Kenzi wouldn't stop saying, combined with feelings in Bo's stomach she just couldn't shake off and all just didn't make any freaking sense anymore.
Bo groaned and started playing this game on Sally that Bob had downloaded. Something he said was addicting and Bo had laughed at him - since she wasn't into that kind of things - but found herself pinned to the screen, trying to smash candies in red, blue, green and other colors. She was just about to finish a fight against the worlds most annoying licorice snail, when she heard a whisper of a knock against her door.
Sitting up Bo wasn't even sure if it was a knock or just her stomach asking when the heck it would get dinner. Yeah, that's the stupid thing about regular eating hours, the body kind of got used to frequent meals.
When Bo was about to lay down again - surely she must have heard wrong - there it was again. A bit stronger than before. A knock. There weren't many options of who that could be. Sweat spread over Bo's palms and her heartbeat increased. She wasn't prepared for that. For Lauren. Not before tomorrow at least.
Bo hurried to the entrance and took a deep soothing breath before she placed some loose locks of her open hair behind her ears and opened the door.
"Hi."
Lauren.
"Hi."
Bo was staring. The blonde looked amazing. She was wearing deep blue, tight jeans, a black tank top under a loose dark green blouse. Those golden waves set in place perfectly and those eyes sparkling brightly.
"Uhm, wow. Lauren, you look… I feel highly underdressed right now."
That shy smile shining back at the brunette set Bo's skin on fire.
"Thank you."
Bo smiled back.
"You're welcome."
The tension that was there before, this weirdness surrounding them was gone and Bo was more than glad about that.
They were looking at each other for a moment, when Lauren took a breath and started fondling with the hem of her shirt.
"I was wondering, uh, if you were free tonight."
"Me?"
Bo blinked confused. It didn't even occur to her, that she indeed could have gone out somewhere. She was in freaking Paris, for the love of everything Moulin and Rouge!
"Yes."
"Well, uh… I mean, I'm off work as you know and in my comfy clothes so… yeah, pretty busy right now."
Lauren nodded.
"Oh, I see."
The blonde was about to step backwards, when Bo reached out and took a hold on the hand, that was holding the green fabric of Lauren's shirt hostage.
"Lauren, I was joking. I'm very much free. What do you have in mind?"
When Bo's fingers touched the blonde's warm, smooth skin, a thunderbolt exploded in the brunette's core. There was this look in Lauren's eyes, that told Bo she felt it, too. The assistant held her breath. The two women were holding gazes while Bo's forefinger was running circles over this sensitive spot over Lauren's wrist.
"Go out with me?"
Lauren's words came pressed out with the breath she had kept in ever since they touched.
"You want to go out? Like… on a date?"
The blonde hid her face behind her golden hair again when her eyes dropped to the ground. Bo came to enjoy that side of her Boss. The vulnerable one. The one that didn't seem like a computer program. All calculated and stuff.
"Yes?"
A smile formed on Bo's lips.
"Was that a question or…?"
The brunette's chocolate browns tried to find Lauren's eyes again. When the blonde finally looked up, Bo couldn't stop that growing smile until it was all over her face and in her eyes. The look on Lauren's face started to lighten up and matched Bo's.
Your smile is the most beautiful I've ever seen.
"Yes! I mean no."
The blonde shook her head lightly.
"Not a question. Would you go out on a date with me?"
If Bo wasn't already wearing a smile as big as the Joker's from Batman, she would now. Her body was on a high in ever corner of every cell.
"I would like that."
And all of a sudden she became nervous. A date? A date! She hadn't been on a date in… like ever.
"Just… uh, give me ten minutes to change."
Bo closed the door and rushed back into the room.
Well, in the end it had taken her 30 minutes. Make-up, hair, clothes in 30 was kind of a record.
Her leather jacket was laying cold on her shoulders where her tank-top didn't cover the skin. Her tight pants fitted just perfectly and those boots she loved so much let her grow just around two centimeters, but felt like twenty. The shoes stretched her back in a way that straightened her chest up. It made Bo feel even prouder of her boobs.
Her hair was loose with one strand left and right tightened in the back of her head to keep it away from her face.
Lauren was sitting at the table going through something that looked pretty much business-related and Bo was yet again wondering if the blonde ever really stopped working.
But, anyway.
Date night. It's been… Bo didn't even think she ever was on a real date. Or at least a date that was worth calling it that. Well, there was this one time where she had thought she was on a date – several actually – what turned out to be a misunderstanding from Bo's side. In the end Bo had found out, that person only wanted to get into the brunette's pants and wasn't interested in her heart … but, whatever, that's a different story. Quintessence here was, this now was a date. They had called it a date. Lauren had asked her on said date and that was all Bo needed to hear.
They took a cab from the hotel. Bo was shortly thinking about if they would share the bill or if she should pay or what the etiquette was in a situation like this. But then she heard Lauren say all these French words, so wondering changed into being aroused and blood started rushing through her veins and into all those special parts the brunette had tried hard to cool down all day.
They had driven for some time and Bo had absolutely no idea where they were, but she couldn't care less. The blonde had heard Bo's stomach scream for attention in the car and even though the brunette had assured her, that it just did that from time to time and that she was fine, they ended up at some place where Bo ate the best ham sandwich she ever had. Lauren told her the name - something beurre – but the brunette was too fascinated about the way the blonde's mouth moved when she spoke and the way her eyes lit up when she explained anything French, so all Bo could do was just nod and remember how to swallow.
While eating they walked and talked and Bo found out how funny Lauren was – when she wasn't drunk, that was - and how at ease she could be. It warmed Bo's chest and belly, but maybe that was just the food sinking in.
"Can I ask you something?"
Bo had been dying to ask that question for so long now, it just filled so much space in her head, that she had to go for it. Lauren threw a fast look at the brunette before she continued to stare at her fingers, holding a napkin.
"Uhm, you can ask whatever you want. Just be prepared that I might not give you an answer."
Bo chuckled.
"Fair enough."
The brunette took deep breath.
"Who's Petra?"
The blonde shook her shoulders.
"She is my designer."
Bo stopped walking and stared at Lauren.
"Yeah, okay. That I know. C'mon Lauren. You call her by her first name. She hugs you and bosses you around. She even freaking kisses you on the cheek."
The blonde turned around and met Bo's questioning gaze.
"Sounds as if someone is jealous."
Bo almost choked on her own salvia.
"Me? No. I'm just…"
A soft chuckle shushed the brunette as she watched Lauren folding and refolding the napkin in her hands.
"Well, Petra is…"
The blonde grew quiet and looked down at her feet.
"She was my mother's best friend. She has always been there. My mother and her were inseparable. Petra was already there before I was born and she is basically family… She's always been there for me and especially after…"
The blonde stopped talking. Bo could see the sadness in her features. Stepping closer, Bo took Lauren's right hand in hers, that was fiddling shakily with the hem of the blonde's button down.
"It's okay, Lauren. You don't have to talk about it. I understand."
A warm wind was blowing through loose golden locks and Bo took the chance to brush a strand of hair out of Lauren's face and back to where it's supposed to be. Before the brunette could take her hand back down, the blonde caught it and held it tightly.
"Thank you."
Those whiskey brown eyes were shining with gratitude and Bo knew it wasn't because she put some hair back in place.
"You're welcome."
A soft smile tucked on Lauren's face and Bo got lost in the moment. Holding hands and sharing a moment of vulnerability like this wasn't something the brunette took for granted.
Some time later the bass coming out of big speakers was massaging Bo's body in the best way. They were already on their second drink – which had loosened even the last knot in Bo's insides – and the looks the blonde threw at the brunette every now and again were both titillating and nerve-wrecking. Long forgotten was their little detour into Miss Lewis' secret world.
Nervousness had shot through the assistant's system-from the alcohol relaxed - more than once. They had a really good time, with laughter and light touches here and there and Bo really didn't want to fuck this up.
And then there it was again. This look in Lauren's eyes. Bo felt heatwaves crashing against her inner walls. Her throat was lacking liquid from one second to another and so the brunette gulped the rest of her cocktail down her gullet.
"You thirsty?"
Bo just nodded, thankfully the place was too dark for Lauren to see the blush, the brunette was sure she was wearing. From the small booth they were sitting in, they could watch the crowd on the dance floor.
"I wouldn't have pictured you in a place like this."
Bo was glad, that the music wasn't as loud over there, so that she didn't need to shout to be heard over the sound. Lauren was sitting next to the brunette on a bench. Close enough, that their knees touched every now and again. Bo was trying to keep her eyes up front.
"What do you mean by 'place like this'?"
The blonde had moved closer and when Bo turned her head sideways, she wasn't prepared for them to nearly touch.
"Uhm."
Bo's eyes fell on Lauren's lips, which were slightly open and practically screaming for Bo's attention. A knowing grin formed on the blonde's face.
"Well, maybe I thought you were more like an opera slash wine tasting kinda girl."
"I see."
The blonde moved her mouth next to Bo's ear.
"Can I let you in on a little secret?"
The brunette nodded eagerly.
"I love secrets."
Well, actually just Lauren Lewis' secrets, but that's just a minor detail.
"Yeah, I bet you do."
Lauren's warm breath tickled Bo's cheek and neck and it made her shiver.
"This is my club."
Bo's eyes widened.
"You're kidding, right?"
Lauren leaned back and took a sip of her drink.
"You're not kidding."
The blonde shook her head.
"I'm impressed, Miss Lewis."
"Why thank you, Miss Dennis."
Bo felt as if the blonde was sharing the private side of Lauren Lewis tonight, that no one else got to see and that stirred unexpected emotions out of the depth of Bo Dennis.
"I need another drink. You want anything?"
Bo shot up from her seat. This was just not the time for her to sort through those wrapped up, bottled up, locked away sensibilities.
"Dance with me."
Bo shivered when she felt Lauren's breath on her skin again. The blonde was standing right in front of Bo. A pair of bright whiskey brown eyes stared into Bo's darkened orbs. The brunette swallowed hard. What she would give for just one more sip of that drink she just had before. At least she got distracted from those weird feelings boiling in her chest.
"I, uh, I don't dance."
Truth. Bo didn't. She was more of a watcher than a dancer.
"Come on, you can't be serious."
Lauren's hand found Bo's forearm and the brunette was thankful that they had given their jackets to the checkroom. Feeling the blonde's warm fingers moving along the side of her arm was… energizing.
"No, I'm sorry, I'm a really bad dancer."
The blonde's hand moved over Bo's upper arm to get a hold on one lock, that made it's way over Bo's shoulder. Playing with the strand of brown hair, Lauren looked from her fingers over Bo's cleavage, to focus on Bo's eyes with an intensity that would have melted the polar caps. The brunette's blood was running fast through her body and she had to catch her breath.
"So, what you're saying is, that Bo Dennis doesn't know how to move her body rhythmically to music? I didn't get that expression last night."
Bam!
Something inside of Bo exploded. She could feel it everywhere in her body. Her eyes must have changed color from the detonation, that's how powerful it felt. The pictures of last night were coming back and the brunette had a hard time pf not jumping the blonde right here where they were. She could barely hold mini Bo back, who was already in seduction-mode.
"Is that so?"
Bo's hand had traveled up to the blonde's elbow and her fore- and middle-fingers were now busy playing with the soft skin, they had found there.
That was the first time they had spoken out loud what had happened between them. It made it feel more real and Bo liked that. Oh, how much she liked that.
Her body was on autopilot now. Her fingers were busy finding even more naked skin to touch and Bo's eyes were staring at the blonde's mouth. Leaning forward, the brunette felt the tip of her nose brushing against Lauren's cheek. The blonde titled her head just a little bit more and her breath tickled Bo's wetted lips.
"I don't believe you."
And with that Bo was pulled out of her zone and onto the dance floor.
"No, no, no, no. Lauren!"
But her words just vanished into the sea of bodies hopping against her and the sound of the guitar and drums from the speakers.
Lauren stopped at a spot in the corner of the room and turned back around to the brunette, who was not sure what to do with her hands. Bo felt uncomfortable. She hated the dance floor. Way too many people, that came way too close, with their way too sweaty bodies. No, thanks.
When yet another sticky back crashed into her, she lost her patience, shook her head and was about to turn around and leave again, when she felt two strong hands taking a hold on her own hands.
The assistant got pulled forward and found herself in her Boss' personal space, one hand holding her hip the other moving up her back to her neck. Bo's eyes traveled over the blonde's upper arm, that was wrapped around the brunette, until they settled on those shiny, bright orbs staring back at her soothingly.
"Try to forget the people around us. Just hold on to me and sway with me."
Bo felt her feet move a step forward and even closer to the blonde, who continued staring at Bo as if she was afraid the brunette could change her mind and leave.
Bo's hands moved over the blonde's hips to the center of her back and Bo's body snugged itself against Laurens'. The brunette felt a sudden calmness inside of her, that spread out and left no room for that annoyance she felt towards the people around her.
The blonde placed her head softly against Bo's shoulder and started moving them slowly to the music. The upbeat song had changed into something almost ballade-like and everything around them fell quiet.
Bo put her chin against Lauren's blonde locks, that were shining golden in the dim light and inhaled the sweet scent of her fruity shampoo. The brunette closed her eyes and let herself be led by the blonde. She felt her Boss' fingertips caress the naked skin of her neck and upper back.
All Bo wanted was to get even closer to the woman in her arms. Gently, she tightened the grip of her embrace and carefully laid her cheek against her Boss' shoulder. They were holding each other like that, moving to the rhythm of the music filling the room. Bo's senses were working double shifts. The blonde's light touches on her back and the hot puffs of breath against her naked shoulder brought different regions inside of Bo to life.
The brunette nuzzled her nose deeper into the waves of golden hair before a careful hand moved it aside to reveal that elegant neck Bo couldn't stop thinking about. Her heartbeat rose with every breath she took. Slowly, Bo rolled her head so that her mouth and nose were now lingering on the soft fabric of Lauren's dark green blouse. The brunette inhaled the blonde's perfume deeply and could just not get enough of this something that was uniquely Lauren. Her Boss moved her head and rested her forehead in the crook of Bo's neck. A soft shiver ran down her spine when she felt Lauren's puffs of breath on her collarbone.
"You smell so good."
It was barely a whisper but Bo had heard it still. It was, as if the world around them didn't exist anymore. All Bo felt, heard, smelled was Lauren.
The brunette gave Lauren's hip a light squeeze before it started moving on it's own. Up and down the blonde's spine. Bo's fingers played with the hem of the green blouse before they found just the tiniest spot of naked skin underneath. The brunette's lips brushed over the cotton fabric another second or two before she lifted her head up to find Lauren's ear. Her mouth ghosted over the outer ear down to that soft spot Bo had found last night right underneath. She placed a tender kiss on the waiting skin.
"You feel so good."
Bo breathed her words onto Lauren's neck before her lips brushed over the blonde's pulse-point. She was about to deepen her little journey, when her Boss moved her head off of the brunette's shoulder and was now looking at Bo. Only centimeters separated the two of them and Bo was sure, she had never seen Lauren's eyes shine in that color before. It was a mix of dark red and bright brown. Like a glass of peach iced tea held against the beams of the summer sun.
Bo watched Lauren's gaze wander down to the brunette's mouth and back up. The brunette was holding her breath out of anticipation. When the blonde finally leaned in and brushed her lips ever so softly against Bo's waiting mouth, a quiet moan escaped her throat.
The kiss was slow and innocent. As if they both were testing waters. It was light and feathery and Bo forgot who she was and where they were and how to breathe. Everything was upside down and inside out in the best way thinkable. Gentle fingers in brown hair and a reassuring hand on the small of her back. Bo was in paradise and she didn't want to leave it again.
Lauren was the first to break the spell when she moved her head back and leaned her forehead against Bo's. The brunette opened her eyes slowly and watched her Boss' face close-up. When their eyes met Bo couldn't help but smile. Her Boss looked gorgeous with her cheeks slightly red and this flustered shine in her gaze. It seemed as if it took the blonde a second longer to realize what just happened, but when it finally sunk in her smile grew wide and brought her eyes to change colors again. Bo was fascinated by how freely Lauren wore her feelings out in the open tonight. Bo could read her like an open book and it was just wonderful.
"Do you wanna have another drink?"
Lauren's voice lingered in Bo's ears when the blonde leaned forward to be heard over the loudness around them. Her words were full of desire and lust and need and all Bo could think of was, which the fastest way out of there was. Instead of talking she started walking, holding her Boss' hand tightly in her own.
The night was bright with all the city lights showing a whole movie of colors on the blonde's face. The cab drove fast but not fast enough and Bo had a hard time keeping her hands to herself. They flew out of the car and up into the loft and when the door finally crashed into the frame, Bo's lips collided with Lauren's again.
The brunette couldn't stop her hands anymore, when they helped her Boss out of her jacket and blouse to find the naked skin underneath.
"You feel so good!"
Bo threw her own jacket to the ground and managed to slip out of her boots, when she grabbed Lauren and maneuvered her to the couch. The blonde got out of her shoes and socks and helped Bo out of her tank top and pants before they both tried to open Lauren's zipper.
When most of the layers were laying on the ground and Bo saw her Boss in her underwear, in all her glory on the sofa, her desire spiked up and this hunger she hadn't felt in some time covered every thought in her head.
Mini Bo applauded hysterically in the brunette's chest, hollering in sync with her heartbeat.
"My god you're beautiful!"
Bo settled down on top of her Boss ever so slowly to savor how the blonde's skin touching Bo's everything felt like. Watching that shy smile on her Boss' face warmed Bo's inside in the kindest ways.
"Thank you."
As fast as they started this, as much as they hurried before, the slower it became now. Bo reached up to place a hand on her Boss' jaw. Her fingers caressed the soft flesh of Lauren's forehead and down her neck before they found their way back up and into that cloud of golden hair.
Bo's eyes were roaming over Lauren's face before they settled on those warm cognac brown's. The look her Boss threw at her was full of feelings and full of words unspoken and when Lauren lifted her head up to capture Bo's mouth in a needy kiss, heaven and earth switched places and the brunette was flying in her own emotions.
Mouth was moving on mouth and hands were searching for more skin, more contact. Bo's tongue darted out to carefully glide over swollen lips and waiting teeth and the sounds Lauren made were like a symphony in Bo's ears.
Brown locks were hanging loose but this time Bo didn't mind. All she was thinking of was, that Lauren Lewis tasted like chocolate and smelled like candy and there was no room nor time to worry about hair right now.
A sudden push of a hand on Bo's chest let the brunette stop what she was doing and sit up. Before she could ask what was going on, Lauren peeled herself from underneath the assistant and stood up. Questioning eyes followed the blonde's action. An outstretched hand was waiting for Bo to take it. So when she did, her Boss escorted them through the semi darkness of the main area and into her personal quarters. She stopped at the foot end of her bed and turned back around to look at the brunette never once letting go of Bo's hand. Reaching out, Lauren took Bo's other hand in hers as well and lifted both of them up to her mouth to place a soft kiss on Bo's knuckles.
For the first time, Bo really didn't know what to do. This was normally right up her ally. She was a sex machine or sex connoisseur or whatever name one wanted to give her. In the end it was all the same: Bo Dennis knew what she liked and wanted in a situation like this and she was also hella good in giving pleasure. But now? Watching this specific woman in front of her, doing all kinds of loving gestures was just… Bo didn't know shit about meaningful looks and this caring touches and she was totally out of her comfort-zone when it came to her own body reactions.
Lauren lowered their hands and watched the brunette while her fingertips brushed along Bo's forearms to her upper arms and shoulders. The tingling sensation spread over the assistant's chest to her back and caused a shiver to crawl up her spine. When the blonde's touches continued their journey Bo couldn't stop her head from tilting back, opening her mouth to let out quiet but deep groan
Bo's eyes almost rolled into the back of her head, when she felt a pair of lips on her hairline, kissing their way to the crook of her neck. The tip of Lauren's tongue slid along Bo's shoulder and back. When the blonde started to carefully bite the brunette's jaw another animalistic sound grew in Bo's lungs. The blonde's hands managed to open the clasp of Bo's bra without her noticing. It wasn't until cool air hit her heated skin, that she realized the missing piece of clothing.
Bo moved her head back and placed her hands on either side of Lauren's face. With a slow but determined pull, Bo brought their mouths together again in a needy and feverish kiss. Lips were moving against each other. Tongues were dueling for the upper hand and teeth hit against teeth every now and again.
With one hand on Lauren's neck Bo's other hand took a hold on that clasp and within seconds another bra hit the ground. The brunette moved them backwards and laid them on the bed. Their kiss slowed down and frantic turned into tender and Bo wasn't prepared for all those feelings she felt again.
Usually she would scratch that itch and get it over with, but there was just something in the way her body fitted on top of Lauren's and how the blonde's skin warmed her from head to toe, that made her wish this kiss would never end.
Finger's entwined and melted into one another and Bo's heart was about to burst any second from all the affection it was carrying.
Bo was in a bubble of her own and if mini Bo wasn't that impatient, she would have kissed the blonde until their mouths had gone dry.
Like the kickstart of her dad's old truck a jolt coursed through her veins and Bo stopped their intimate dance. With glowing eyes she looked down on the blonde, whose head still seemed fogged from the moment they had just shared.
"Do you have any idea what you're doing to me?"
Bo's voice was heavy with lust. She didn't even know where that question came from. Her vocal cords had a mind of their own. The brunette didn't wait for an answer. She started kissing the blonde's lips once more before she moved her mouth to her jaw and down her throat. Bo's tongue tasted the salty skin of Lauren's chest when the brunette moved her head over to the blonde's breasts. Lauren's back lifted off of the mattress when Bo gound the right spot.
The brunette's hands massaged the soft flesh before they went in between the two women and further down. Lifting herself up on one arm and knee, Bo's eager hand moved past the elastic of Lauren's underwear. The warmth that greeted her there was intoxicating and when her finger's found out how ready the blonde already was for her, Bo couldn't hold back any longer.
The air was filled with sounds of pleasure. Lauren's leg settled between Bo's and found just the right angle. The friction drove the brunette crazy and when Lauren's warm hand palmed the cool skin of one of Bo's waiting breasts a storm broke out inside of the brunette's core. Their rhythm sped up until both women shuddered and trembled and the world around them turned yellow and red and orange before a shock hit them and everything turned black.
The brunette almost collapsed on top of Lauren as she came down from that high she was on. With her ear resting on the blonde's chest Bo listened to the fast heartbeat, which slowly found the way back into it's regular pace. The brunette felt more tired than ever before. Exhausted from the day and the events and most of all the emotional journey she went through today. She felt the soft fabric of Lauren's blanket cover them both. Bo managed to lift her head to look at her Boss with small eyes.
"Will you be there when I wake up tomorrow?"
Bo herself was shocked of how vulnerable she sounded right now. She saw the surprised look in Lauren's face before she was able to cover it with the warmest smile.
"I will."
The blonde lifted her head an placed a reassuring kiss on Bo's lips. An almost purr-like sound squeezed itself out of the brunette's throat. Bo settled her head back down on the blonde's chest.
"You promise?"
Another kiss on the top of Bo's head, followed by a tight hug before the blonde relaxed underneath Bo.
"I promise."
