AN: Hello, I am alive! I'm sorry it's been so long, but I've had exams and computer trouble, and all that Jazz. I really hope you enjoy, and as always, I don't own it, And I'd love if you dropped a review or two.

In Which there is even more talking (alt. Hey more exposition)

Leo woke up to bird song- or rather to a talking bird. A talking bird that seemed to be having a conversation with Edmund.

"Oh look the son of fire has woken up." Leo glanced over to the two of them, it seemed to be that the two had been talking a while and were waiting on him. How very polite.

"Excuse me Mr. Sparrow, but why are you calling him son of Fire? Is he not a son of Adam?"

Leo groaned. "Let's not go through all that again. Basically my mom was what you'd call a daughter of Eve, but my father isn't a son of Adam. So I'm not a son of Adam. No offence intended Mr... Sparrow, right?"

The sparrow nodded, and Leo continued "right, how do you know about the fire thing?"

"It was assumed that you had a connection to flames after we were told of your fight with the witch, no normal son of Adam can shoot fire out of his hands. Nor can he match the strength of a daughter of Lilith."

"Sorry, who now?"

The sparrow shot him a look for interrupting, but Leo felt if too many new characters were introduced he might go insane. The sparrow seemed to want to ignore him, but as Edmund wanted to know too, he simply ruffled his feathers and explained.

"Jadis, and all her ilk, were not descended from Lord Adam and Lady Eve, but from Lilith, Adam's first wife, who turned against him and the Lord God, and rebelled. She was the first Witch. Through her line come the giants and other such... abominations."

"Hold on, surely a whole race can't be evil? Why would Aslan ...anyone let them exist if they were all simply evil."

The sparrow shot a side glance at Edmund, with what seemed almost like approval. "No, no, young man, I do not say they are evil. They are abominations through how they came to be. Many giants are peaceful folk, and I'm sure not every descendant of Lilith can have been evil, though they do seem to be better at it than the average."

"Oh, wonderful. Are we likely to run into any of the non-peaceful sort?"

The sparrow sort of tittered, Leo supposed it passed as a laugh from the bird, and tilted his head in Edmund's direction, "I doubt so Edmund. They generally remain in Ettinsmoor, which lies to the north of Narnia."

"Speaking of Narnia, could you please point us the way to the stone table, we're trying to get to Aslan's camp. If anyone can get me home, apparently He can." Leo wondered why when he had said he, it felt like it should have been capitalised. Leo had more respect for the Aslan, than all the god's in his own world.

Edmund closed up at that and Leo frowned. "Look Ed, I get that you feel that you betrayed your family, and yeah, you kinda did, but you need to see them and make up. Also, I don't really know the prophecy, but there is bound to be one. And it will need all of you. Not Peter, Susan and Lucy. All ...four ...of...you. Narnia needs you Ed, and I'm not a Narnian, but I can see, we can't leave them like this."

"What about you Leo? Four thrones. You deserve one more than I do. I'm going to help Narnia, it's the least I can do after the mess I've made of everything, but I... I don't deserve a throne. I... You have it, you saved me, and you should have it. I just hope one day I'll be like you."

"Two sons of Adam, and two daughters of Eve", the Sparrow chipped in. "He couldn't take the throne even if he wanted to."

"And I don't. I'm not a leader Edmund, nor a king. I'm a mechanic, an inventor, a kid who's only good at one thing, and that's running away. Don't you dare ever be like me."

Leo looked over at Edmunds face, turned down and felt his heart go out to him. This kid. He felt like he was looking back in time to when he was younger, a lost kid sat outside another foster home, and realising it was his fault, and that he'd never amount to anything. What decent kid would kill their mom after all. Leo was only good for making things, not good with organic life forms. He knew the prophecy. 'An oath to keep with a final breath.' He knew it would be him, something deep in his bones, telling him, this was it; his life thread was getting shorter by the day. He would die. Better him than any of his friends though.

Edmund felt fingers under his chin, and looked up into warm brown eyes. "Ed listen. You'll be great one day. Just remember this, and never forget it. Traitors can mend. I've seen it. Don't give out trust to readily, but don't withhold it either. Mercy is just as important as Justice; but never more."

Edmund knew these words would stay with him his whole life, all the time in Narnia, and if he were to return to Finchley, there too. He would never forget Leo, not this moment, and though he knew Leo to be wrong about him, for he was covered in his sin, perhaps there were others who could be saved.

Leo frowned. Edmund didn't get it. He had gotten the concept of people mending, but hadn't realised he was one who could. Leo didn't want Ed to turn into another one of him, but he couldn't see any way of fixing Leo, much like he himself couldn't be fixed.

"So, now that the sentimental moment is over, spit spot. The wolves will be here any minute, and we really need to get to Aslan's camp before that can happen."

"To late I'm afraid, son of fire, the wolves reached here during the night. They have no problem running through all hours you see. If you and Edmund climb down from the tree you will be dragged, with multiple bite marks I suppose, back to the witch."

"Oh. Ok, how-bout I fry them."

The leaves of the tree they were in shook ominously. "I don't think the trees like that idea Leo, with the snow almost gone; you might set them on fire."

"Good point. Dryads get rather annoyed when you burn their trees. And by rather annoyed I mean murderous."

"Don't worry, I'm sure Aslan will send out a search party to find us. Besides, Maugrim's not here. He's the captain of the wolves. He's probably sneaking off to spy on Aslan's camp, and then will be followed back here."

Leo frowned. "Or, and just a possibility, he's gone to get the witch?"

Edmund shivered. "I do rather hope it's the first option."

"Yeah. Me too."
