WARNING!
I am going to make Dumbledore as dark as you can get. I am going to turn him into a human version of the Thanos shown in Avengers Infinity War. I know some people are probably not going to like that, but I have been building his dark side up for several chapters now and I want to bring that to a definite head here and now.
You have been warned,

Merden's POV
"Now, before I summon Dumbledore from non-existence, I need to explain a few things. There are different rules when it comes to summoning someone for good reasons and summoning someone for bad reasons. Someone summoned with good reasons, you can talk to however you want. For bad reasons, there are restrictions.
First off, no subject can be breached until the spirit has realized that they have been summoned from non-existence. Two, the spirit, by themselves, needs to make the realization. We can give one vague hint each, but no more. Three, and this one I cannot stress enough. The person most wronged can not touch this spirit."
And while a lot of the group turns at the young prince for this, do I keep my gaze at Snuffles and the man raises his eyebrow. "It's because you had his Deathday." Luna then gently tells the haunted man and everyone gasps at this, those that had turned to Hari now looking at Sirius and I nod at the girl as I tell them:
"To a Time Elf there is nothing worse than someone running his or her time longer than they have the right. The reason Dumbledore came in so late was because he knew that coming in early – with the rest of the Order – would ensure his death. He purposely stayed behind. And trust me, any Time Elf who will learn of this will hate him."
"What about the Dumbledore of this time?" Hari asks and I answer: "Now that I am going to summon his former future self, I am indeed, by magic, ordered to tell him of when he is meant to die, but with all the changes that will surely come from you answering the scroll, your Highness, there is a good chance those times will change."
Hari nods and Hermione asks: "And if he tries to fight those times?" But I shake my head and say: "He won't get the chance. My magic will inspire me to spend the day around him and if he tries to dodge the method of his ending, I will freeze time around his form, making him incapable of doing so. So that won't happen."
"What is his time right now?" Ron asks and I move my hand from side to side, as if rubbing it over a bit of glass or something. And as I do this, does a transparent screen appear in thin air, symbols on it that can only be read by a Time Elf. And to my eyes the symbols say: Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore. 18-06-1996.
This intrigues me and I move my hand across the screen a little more. The screen changes, but only to my eyes and I hum, wiping the screen away as I say: "Intriguing. It looks like the date hasn't changed, but the method has. Dumbledore will die in his sleep instead of through the Veil. Though I must say, the method is a little – embarrassing."
The others look intrigued and I say: "He fell asleep taking a lemon drop that has a Calming Draught added to it, only – it got stuck in his throat. He choked just after truly falling asleep." The group gasps but then I shrug and say: "At least it is a better, more – Dumbledore – kind of way than what I usually see happen to beings like this."
"You did this before?" Prince Jaurion asks shocked, but I shake my head and say: "All Time Elves are taught how to use their powers to see the date and method of death of anyone and everyone. If so desired, I will do so for all of you later." At this a lot of those around me, especially the ones I saved, nod in gratitude.
I then return my focus to what needs to happen and put most of the power that usually, on a daily basis, runs through me in my hand as I move it from my head down to my legs. And a line of Time magic appears before me. I then use both hands to grab said line and pull it out, while focusing on Dumbledore as a person.
And as I do this, does the line take the man's shape and does it turn more transparent the further it grows and changes. I then snap my fingers and a flash of light that appears as fast as the snap in question shines from the form before the spirit of the man – no, the spirit of the monster – takes the shape that I created.
Another line then cleaves through the man, from the top of his head to between his feet and this line, I know, represents the border between the world of existence and the world of non-existence. I aim my hand straight at the man and push to the left. And as I do this, does his form get pushed to the left of the line as well.
The line then envelops the edges of his form and seeps into it. And while his form is still transparent, does it now get a bit of a glow to it, representing his new health and the energy that he is made of. The man opens his eyes and looks around. At this I, inconspicuously, motion the royal family and Snuffles to step forward.
The man notices the five of them and instantly I see that he has caught onto what happened. This, to my senses and magical skill, is enough, yet I know I need to follow procedure and so I speak: "Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore. You are in the royal castle of Valivial, the realm of the Elves. Do you know when you are?"
And the King and Queen take another, smaller step forward, getting noticed by Dumbledore who says: "I am going to say the Summer of 1976?" But I shake my head and say: "Close, but not quite. I am a Time Elf. One blessed with the chance to live up to the ancient saying Things must always get worse before they get better.
Would you care to guess again?" And the hint does not fall on deaf ears as the man sighs, but before he can do more, do I say: "Know that if you do anything other than acknowledge where and when you are, you will lose this chance. Make your guess before you speak any other words." The man nods and looks up as he says:
"I would like to believe that I am at some point around Christmas in 1976, is this correct?" At which I nod and then deliver the first of many blows as I say: "You are – and your younger self will never feel the pain, horror and loss that pushed you to becoming you. With the King and Queen alive, your fate has been changed for the better."
This makes everyone turn to me and I nod as I say: "King Hendros and Queen Amyna were, in the previous timeline, the two people that Mr. Dumbledore drew all of his confidence and support from. When they died, he fell into a temporary depression that he then tried to fight by putting more effort into the war.
Then that disgusting disaster of 1979 and 1995 happened and everything else – as you all now know – is history. A history that no longer exists.""I feared as much." Dumbledore mutters, but none of us care and then Prince Hari steps forward and says: "Turn around." His voice obviously strengthened by his own Elven Skill.
The man looks up, but the prince glares him into following orders and I hear Prince Jaurion whisper: "A true leader, he is." But Ron, who he whispered it to, whispers back: "Only when it matters. Otherwise –." And while a stare-off is going on between the prince and the former Headmaster, does the Prince mutter:
"He is my son." Making the prince's best friend smile at his best friend's father. Dumbledore then finally seems to realize that he is not going to have Hari submit to his need for answers and just turns around. And the serene smile that appears on his face as he sees the Snitch in there infuriates us and the queen steps forward:
"I will forgive you for your actions because you are unknowing of Elves, their kinds and what is safe to which Elf, but when I am done telling you the truth, that smile better be gone, Albus Percival Dumbledore." And while I know some are confused that she is only using one middle name, does the man turn back to her.
"Hari, my precious little grandson, is a Music Elf. When either a Time, Music or Empathy Elf tries to become the Master of Death, it will come at the cost of them losing their rights to a life and or timeline. Basically, any Time, Music or Empathy Elf that takes that Title is dead the minute they do, unless they lose the title.
So, are you still feeling proud of your accomplishments – and don't you dare say that it was for the Greater Good or anything like that, Albus Percival Dumbledore. The Greater Good never comes at the costs of those who achieve it. I told you this a thousand times and I do not accept the fact of my death making you ignore that."
The man cringes at this, proving this is indeed what happened and then the most brilliant thing ever happens. A knock is heard at the door next to where the spirit is and Adoln, an Earth Elf that is as close as a brother to me, enters as he says: "Your Majesty, Your Grace, we've found him. He wishes an audience with you."
The King nods and a man with long white hair that is combed in such a way that it flows naturally into his side burns and who has a small beard on his pointed chin walks in, his elder form still quite flexible as he bows down to the royals before he spots the spirit. "Albus, what happened to you? Wait, you're – way older than you should be."
And while I know that some might think: "You're one to talk." Do I say: "This is the Albus Dumbledore from another timeline, one that was taken out of existence when King Hendros and Queen Amyna were saved from being killed on the 23rd of December. Though there is still a link to that timeline – in these books."
And Lupin holds up the entire series of books. Flamel seems intrigued by all this and Adeline finally proves that she has been part of our group – as she has been silently comforting and supporting the queen through the harder parts of the first book – as she steps forward and says: "Lord Flamel, thank you for finally coming before us.
We just read of young prince Hari's first year and it is the whole reason our elves searched for you with more intensity than ever before. Therefore I feel, in name of his Highness the young prince, I must ask this. The Stone in Vault 713, is it real or are we correct to assume it is just one of the many fakes you have around the world?"
And while I feel furious at the disbelieving look on Dumbledore's face, do we all take great pleasure out of his shock as Flamel bows down and says: "What better way to hide such a valuable artifact, Your Highness, but to put it out in plain sight and hide it exactly there were everyone else would expect you to?"
At this Prince Hari steps forward and says: "Lord Flamel, in fourteen years and 7 months this man will have a teacher possessed by the supposed murderer of my entire family. He will realize that this teacher and monster are after your Stone and will have one of his employees take it out of the vault and into his school.
It will stay there for an entire year before being saved by my eleven year old self and the twelve year old selves of my two friends here. This will be responded to by a conversation between yourself and this spirit in which you will decide to see the Stone destroyed. Am I correct to assume – that you did this years and years ago?"
The man's eyes widen and he asks: "Wait, my pupil, who knows how much value I put behind the safety of proper education and the safety of a teaching location, thought it right to put an item that attracts nothing but trouble, danger and thieves – inside a school?" And when the young prince nods, does the man turn to the spirit.
"WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO YOU? HAVE YOU LOST ALL COMMON SENSE? HAVE YOU TRULY –." But then I notice Snuffles looking at me and I nod as he steps forward and says: "Stop wasting your breath, Lord Flamel. The answers you will get from him will not satisfy you. Mine, though, just might."
The man turns from the cringing spirit, who would have looked guilty if I didn't know better to the man in his thirties and Snuffles says: "On the 18th of June in 1996, Lord Voldemort – the taboo doesn't count here, other world – tricked my godson into a very dangerous trap.
This because of a – as Time Elf Merden calls it – mistake created in 1980 was wanted by the monster and he knew this mistake could only be retrieved by either himself or my godson, young prince Hari. Hari was tricked into retrieving it, but when he tried defending it and taking his friends out of the danger, disaster struck.
According to Merden and his skills, Albus was supposed to die that night. He did not because he purposely came in later than the rest of us. I – almost – took his place. In the minds of many of those you see here, I did as they lived until 1998, but when they traveled back to this timeline, my soul was saved just before I was killed."
The man seems greatly intrigued by all this and then Snuffles turns to Dumbledore and says: "The reason Dumbledore thought it right to put such a dangerous item within his school was because of that mistake. I took his place in fate and died before my time, because this man decided to –." And then Prince Hari realizes something.
"Cheated death. Dumbledore cheated Death. He dared to – DON'T!" He furiously snaps at the end as Dumbledore wants to open his mouth and growls: "You have been knowing of Voldemort's method since First year, since you told me of my scar. You had from 1992 to 1996 to tell anyone – anyone – what you knew.
And the fact that you didn't even tell McGonagall – Minerva McGonagall who practically kisses the ground you walk on and who would lower the sun under the horizon every time you sit down if she could – proves how selfish and arrogant you are. Proves, along with that fateful night, that you are no better than him.
He killed – or in the case of this new timeline – tried to kill my grandparents and might try to kill my parents. But when it comes to the timeline I have lived in until 3 days ago, I blamed myself for something that was your fault the entire time. Because you love procrastinating and keeping your little secrets, I was struck with wrongful guilt.
No more, Dumbledore. I cleanse myself of you, of all you have done and all you could have done had I continued living in that timeline. I am home, I am loved and we have plans that will best yours by a landslide that only need a few more conversations before they can be executed and that will end the war.
The Seventies war." And while I wonder if he realizes it, does the boy actually hold onto the Truth Scroll as he says this and I can sense his own inner Elf power mixing with the strength of the scroll, the power flowing between the two like an eight and powering each other, allowing the prince to speak with a royal tone.
Then Flamel once more bows down and says: "Your Highness, I may not know of your plans, but I will happily join in on them and help however I can." To this Hari smiles at him and the King steps forward as he says: "Your help would be appreciated, Lord Flamel. You know Dumbledore and this knowledge is invaluable.
And while it may have been spoken by my grandson, will it not be him who will execute them. If you look at the young prince closely, Lord Flamel, you will see why." At this Flamel looks up and he squints his eyes before they widen and he turns to the spirit, who looks intrigued. He then looks between the two of them a few more times.
He stands up, glares at Dumbledore and then turns to the Prince as he says: "Your Highness, I swear. I will help however I can. I can see that you still have some kind of aura linking you to this once great man now monster and I can tell that, if this aura gets stronger, all you desire will just get destroyed. I do not accept this."
"Nicholas, I assure you –." Dumbledore tries, but a single glare from Flamel silences him and he snaps: "Hiding a treasure wanted by every thief in the world in a school, letting someone loyal to you take your date of death, not entrusting those devoted to you with knowledge that can save lives, putting guilt on innocent souls.
You are dark, Albus Percival Dumbledore, and I sincerely regret ever even meeting you. Even if your timeline no longer exists, I will give my life and all else that I have to ensure that your current self will become everything you can never be. He may die on the day – that reminds me. Young man, when were you meant to die?"
At this Snuffles, Sirius, Lupin, Remus, Hari, Jaurion and even little Teddy, who has also been taken care of by Adeline this entire time, all turn to me and I repeat my earlier action. I rub my hand across the air as if cleaning a screen. Yet to my shock, do two names and times appear and I realize: "They truly are different now."
I then speak and say: "Sirius Orion Black – 27-05-2018. Snuffles Lupin-Black 3-11-2018." And while the others are shocked to hear that a different date is set for the two men, does prince Hari sigh and whisper: "At least I still have years left with you guys." But then I smirk at them and say: "Your Highness?" Hari nods and I say:
"Those are the dates – they will die on Earth. It will be the last day each of them will spend on earth before returning to Ariador for life. Their true death dates are so far into the future my skills just can't spot them right now." And the smiles of relieved happiness, glee and relief that are on almost all faces makes me feel even more pride.
I then start moving my hand down further and further and more and more names appear before me. I read them all – every name of every person who is here to read of the future – and smirk as I say: "The same year is stated for everyone else. Looks like everyone decides to truly make Ariador their home in 2018.
Well, everyone – bar one certain soul. Sorry Albus Dumbledore, but now that your soul has been brought here, I will be 100% assured of the ability to see your other-self meet his date of death on the day you were supposed to die. Only, it will no longer be a day where England is on the brink of another Magical war.
Prince Hari has already made sure of that – when he fused his power as a Music Elf with the Truth Scroll. For when he spoke of the end of the Seventies war being the end of the war against Voldemort – he spoke the truth." And the shock that shows on the spirit's face makes me happily slash my hand down his form.
The line of the border cuts through him once again and before he can do anything, do I push his soul to the right. Instantly it loses the aura that gives it life and power and the spirit and border vanish. Everyone smirks at this and Princess Lindilwen asks: "You'll be able to get him back when we finish another book, right?"
I nod, but then say: "Yes, though because Prince Hari spoke with his Royal Voice and because he mixed his power with that of the Truth Scroll, will that be something his soul will remember. He will also remember where he was brought to, but nothing else." At this the Princess nods and then I notice Snuffles looking at me.
I nod at him and say: "You have my word, Lord Snuffles, the end of the Fifth book will see his soul returned to this realm." At this Snuffles nods, but then he gets offered a very interesting vial that is filled with a purple liquid that has black and golden bubbles – that seem unable to pop – floating through it as Flamel says:
"This is one vial I never thought I'd hand to anyone. It was my only experiment on the Elixir of Life and when I realized what came out of that experiment I destroyed the Stone, desiring to never get another chance to make more of this as that experiment was brewed with the last bit of elixir I produced from that Stone.
It saves a soul – from any kind of death other than an Elven death. Meaning that, if you and your younger self drink this upon the date you were almost killed – that can no longer happen." And Snuffles looks at him shocked before he takes the vial. And just in time to as a minute later, Flamel is pushed to the ground – by a crying prince.
Awesome, Nicholas.
So I'm not going to lie, I was actually planning to make Albus as dark and mad as Thanos in this chapter, but for some reason I changed my mind and just felt like bashing him straight into the ground. Still, I think Flamel's input and the way he described Dumbledore's actions does still make for a fair comparison between the two.
Also, I know that my Thanos story only has two chapters, but I have been really busy this last month and whenever I wasn't busy, I was either writing or suffering from hay fever. To be honest, I actually thought that this story, Titles, Preventing and Fates would be late, because of all that. Luckily enough, they weren't.
Onto next Chapter: The Queen gathers the royals from the other kingdoms, Merden works alongside her along with Ron, Hermione, Jaurion and Lupin and the lot of them manage to get the armies of the other Kingdoms to come with them when they visit 1976 Dumbledore. But what is this? Someone else helps too?
Who will it be,
