Hey everyone,
I have some bad news to V.L. Crawford. There will be little to no Snuffles in this chapter. Hopefully, the presence of Lindilwen, Lupin and Hari will make up for that. Also shout-out to Lilly-flower15. I may only update once a month, but your comment made me want to start on writing this next chapter as soon as possible. Thank you both for your reviews.
Also, with the completion of Fate's Finale, did I come to a decision. For Family and Friends, this story and To Read and To View, I am going to do the same thing. With that I mean that at the end of Goblet for Family, the end of Chambers for this one and the end of the KH I movie for To Read and To View, the story will be finished and the next two will be in the sequel.
Don't you guys worry, I did some checking and, even if I were not to take break chapters into account, both Family and Friends and this story won't finish until sometime into 2020. For To Read and To View, I can honestly say it might not be until mid to late 2019. I'm not doing it for Preventing or To Read Into The Universe, because Preventing is already 3 books in and Universe only consists of Order, Prince and Hallows, so there's not really a point.
Also – and yes, I know this AN is quite long, but this is important – I did some thinking and realized that, in canon, Sirius and the others came home for the Christmas hols in their Sixth and that Sirius fled from Grimmauld to the Potters in that same year, the same that I said the king and queen were meant to die. I am going to redcon that beginning part and say that Sirius did this in the summer before Sixth, not Christmas during Sixth.
Let's do this,

The Reading Room
Lucius' POV
"Lucius, would you mind if I talk with Lupin first? I need to ask him an important question that concerns my future." My new sister of a few days asks and I shrug as I say: "As long as you don't mind that I come with so we can talk right after." Both the older werewolf and my sister nod in consent to this and we head out, me giving Severus and Draco a hug and Lupin doing the same with the youngest Valivial and the older Black.
We leave for the hallway and there my sister instantly gets to the point. "Lupin, I talked with Snuffles before and asked him a question that is really important, especially to whether or not I want to start a relationship with Jaurion. He couldn't answer me, because he didn't remember, so I need you to tell me. Did James ever tell Lily about his persona? Snuffles said we weren't them anymore."
This really intrigues me and also makes Lupin smile as he says: "I definitely agree with that loveable mutt. Don't get me wrong, there are still traits in the both of you that give me a strong sense of both déjà vu and nostalgia, but then either of you does something that reminds me that this is a changed version of my own past. As for your question – no."
Instantly my sister looks down, heart-broken, but I don't as I notice that Lupin is still smiling and he says: "Allow me to explain." Lindilwen looks up, curious but saddened and Lupin goes on: "In the summer of our Sixth, Sirius was at home, the Black home, when he decided enough was enough and fled the family home for that of the Potters, where he was welcomed with open arms.
As you know, Charlus and Dorea, according to what Merden told you at the start of all this, were supposed to have been killed by Voldemort during this very Christmas – and James didn't find out until New Year's when Voldemort send him a note saying Happy New Year, Lord Potter. Perhaps soon we can do business."
This infuriates and disgusts me and makes me, again, wonder what could possibly have enticed my other self – myself from their past – to join a monster like this, but then I think: "It's because you never took a closer look at any Half-blood or Muggleborn other than Severus." And while I hate myself for my own shortsightedness, do I listen on.
"James was utterly devastated. He still laughed and joked around and – ahem – fought against the Pureblood Snakes of Slytherin and whatnot, but there were only a few who noticed that his heart wasn't in any of it. And Lily was one of them, though it took her hearing McGonagall saying that James' grades were plummeting before she really realized it.
She confronted him, something Snuffles, Pettigrew – I have my reasons – and I didn't dare to, because James always looked so frail and broken when others weren't around or he wasn't showing his persona for the world to see and she let him cry, cry for hours upon hours on her shoulder, casting charms to hide the two of them from sight.
James confided everything in Lily, but not the persona. That was something she herself figured out thanks to what he confided in her in his tearful, heartbroken rambling. And she saw a side of him, the side you see with Jaurion every time he cares for Hari, that both broke her heart for how he had to hide it, even after losing his parents, and made it reach out to him.
When James was at his weakest and his lowest, Lily was actually the one who was there for him and that brought them together. James never had to tell Lily about the persona –." And Lindilwen, who has tears in her own eyes, sniffles and says: "Because she discovered about it herself. Thanks, Lupin, I needed to hear that." The man nods, but then turns stern and says:
"Lin, listen to me. I get it. I get why you're being so hesitant with Jaurion and why you want to use this whole Princess deal with him to find out what you really want out of your future with him. But Hari –.""Hari has a sister he can count on, just until she's ready to see if she can be his mother or not. Don't worry, Lupin. I talked with Hari about that before we started reading."
The man smiles at her and I too feel very proud before the man asks: "So next time you feel the need to comfort Hari or support him and see that Jaurion beats you to the punch?" And the girl proudly says: "I will not let that hold me back, not anymore. Jaurion can be his father all he wants, I'll be the supporting sister." Earning her another proud nod.
We then hear someone approaching from behind and turn around where we see a servant approach us. The woman is definitely wearing a nice looking uniform, but there is no mistaking the look of humble respect that is shown on her face or the way that she bows her upper body before us when she reaches where we are standing and the woman says:
"My dear, the prince's first commissioned dress for you is ready." I look between her and my sister and the girl asks: "My – my dear?""Prince Jaurion told us that you and him are not yet together and that you are having issues. He also told us of your love for royalty, so we decided to compensate between the two. Not a royal title, but a title that has honor in our world."
At this I share a smile with my sister and then the servant says: "Though we will need your presence for the final touches. We need to be sure that we have the right measures for your – ahem – shape and form." Lindilwen turns a little red at this and asks: "Would my brother be allowed to come too? We were planning to have a bit of an important talk."
The woman nods and says: "He can come, but only because you recognize him as your brother. The elder man there, however, may not." At which Lupin shrugs and says: "That is fine. I did my job." And the way that he says this has me raise my eyebrow at him as he returns to the reading room and the two of us follow the servant.
We go down a few floors and enter a huge room that has stands and mannequins and other sowing and knitting equipment, stuff that you would usually see in Madam Mallekin or a tailor's workshop. The servant then guides Lindilwen to a stand in the middle of the room and motions for another to bring over the dress in question.
And upon seeing it, I can only think: "Simple, but regal. She will look gorgeous in it." And pride and glee for Jaurion Valivial fills me up as I look at Lindilwen, who looks awed as another servant actually puts a screen in front of her. At this I turn a little bit red as I realize that I was about to see my sister in her undergarments for the first time and I think: "No way, not yet."
And so I calmly wait until the screen is removed and instantly my eyes widen and I can only utter one statement: "Goodness." A white bodice that goes down to the hips with a bubble pattern made out of crystals on the waistline and a golden belt with a single ruby at the center of the belt that is tied around the hipline and with a skirt that is made of a flowy material that slowly turns green the further it goes down.
"How do – how do I look?" Lindilwen asks and I smirk as I say: "Sis, you look so good that, if the prince were to see you now, he might just break that promise of his to give you the time you need to make your decision on all this." The tailor servants all glare at me for this while my sister turns red and I shrug as I say: "Older brother rights. Get used to it, sis."
Making the eldest tailor roll her eyes as she turns back to my sister, who is actually glaring at me, but I just smirk at her before I say: "Also, I got to admit, I am growing quite worried about you, Lin. You are obviously enjoying yourself being the future princess of this kingdom and you are definitely growing closer to young Hari, but you still seem hesitant with Jaurion.
Isn't that horribly confusing?" I ask her concerned and the girl sighs as she says: "To be honest, it is. But I've been thinking on that almost every time I get to be alone and – I think the whole problem here lies with what I just talked to Lupin about. Think about it, there are things Jaurion and I have in common, but we also have the opposite ever since we came here.
Yes, both him and I got a lot of shocks to our systems when we came here, but Jaurion got the shock of hearing that he is royal and a father. I got the shock of hearing that I might become royal, that I have a son, that the father is someone I thought the worst about and then find out that the reasons I hated that father – weren't even true or actually part of his character."
The girl sighs, raising her arms to help the tailors make sure the fabric under her arm pits fits just right and then she says: "I guess it was all just a bit too much to handle and I needed time to really see that and get used to the changes that happened, not just the change of a Christmas location or the whole time travel thing, but – everything.
Though that sure doesn't excuse the fact that I treated Hari so rotten from time to time or that it took me this long to accept the role of being a sister to him this late. Though at the same time, I just don't know if I can ever be more than a sister. I mean, he's so much older than me, not just in years, but at heart and with how much experience he has."
Yet at this I say: "That is both true – and not." The girl looks at me and I clasp my hands together as I say: "Yes, Hari is experienced, but the experience lies in the traumas he has. Just look at how he behaves around his friends. He seeks them out, tries to constantly gain their affection, practically begs them with his looks and actions to love and accept him.
He's a kid in an adult's body, Lin, and once the traumas of his past are behind him, he will be that kid. And when that happens, you'll have the little brother – and maybe one day son – that you so obviously want. And don't deny it, your tone just now proved everything." I smirk in the end, making my sister turn red once again, even if it's for a completely different reason.
Yet then she turns sad and asks: "But what about Snuffles, Jaurion and Lupin?" To which I ask: "What about them? They're not you, after all." And the girl keeps quiet, allowing the tailors to do their fabulous work and obviously thinking deeply about everything we just discussed. And while I think: "My family talk can wait." Do I smirk and watch the masters work.

At another Tower
Hendros' POV
"Remember, both of you, I am king and thus I take the lead. You may retort if she directly addresses you, but keep professional and keep calm at all times." I tell my son and grandson, both of them decked out in official garments that have been specifically tailored for their roles as Crown Prince and Prince of Ariador respectively and the two nod in understanding.
We move up one floor, to where the woman that has recently lost her sister and might have also already lost her potential mate is held behind a set of bars. Sirius had also wanted to come along or send his older-self send along, but Snuffles had harshly refused and both Remus and Lupin had supported the older man in this. And Hari had told me: "Just think of the fact that he has yet to make his entrance in the books and where we are going right now." And that had said it all.
Jaurion hadn't quite made the connections – or perhaps he had, but hadn't wanted to believe it about his best friend – but I had spent the carriage ride thinking of what Snuffles could have done that would have ended him up in Azkaban, but combined with how close he is with Hari, the facts just didn't make any sense and I had asked: "How much longer?""The next book." Hari answered.
Yet after getting even more confirmation that the woman was in custody and that she had been thoroughly – but not intrusively – searched for potential escape methods or weapons and that these methods had been taken from her, did I also start thinking of another fact. "Jaurion wants Lindilwen who is now the sister of Lucius, the target of this very woman."
And this is a thought that I keep to the forefront of my mind as I move into sight of the woman, who is seated as if she is at the head of a table instead of an old, slightly molding wooden bench. And while I think: "I'll have to have the Earth Elves replace that." Do I also take notice of how the woman is purposely looking away from where we are standing.
"As prideful as any other Pureblood. Fine, Narcissa Black, two can play that game." And while I once again thank the fact that I am meant for one of the greatest women to have ever been born into the Black family, do I calmly greet her. "Greetings, Heiress Black." Only for the woman to sniff and haughtily turn her nose up as she says:
"And yet again I get disturbed by lesser ones who are not up to date on recent events of today's society. I am the future Lady Malfoy and will be addressed as such." Yet while I already know that Hari and Jaurion are getting angry behind me, do I smirk and remember my earlier thought as I say: "And yet your upcoming title should not take your education – or your common decency."
The woman turns to me furiously, but instantly the guards at the cell door are at the ready. Yet because they are Elves and do not require wands, does the woman seem to think they are not a threat as she rushes at the door, only for an invisible wall to block her a good two feet away from the door, making it so that, even if she were to reach out, her arm would not reach the bars.
The Guard Elf on the left has his hands open, palms forward and aimed at the woman, yet he turns one of them into a fist and firmly moves it in her direction, causing for the wall of nothing but his own innate magic to push her back, the other elf making sure that the bench she was on appears behind her, making her lose her balance and fall down again.
"You would do well to know your place now that you are behind bars, Heiress Black. And before you even think of saying it, your father will already have to answer to the fact that your sister intruded upon my family home with the intent of killing me. I sincerely doubt he will desire any further cooperation with you, regardless of his own twisted mindset of bonds and unions.
Rest assured that the House of Malfoy is in just the right hands and that it will produce the offspring that it deserves, offspring that I have personally seen will bring the House of Malfoy a place among a powerful line and family. The same, I assure you, can be said for the House of Black, especially once either Orion grows a pair or Walburga passes onto the Next Great Adventure."
The woman is obviously steaming and yet I care nothing for this as a woman who is willing to ruin the life of her own son for the actions of her father-in-law does not deserve to be a mother and while part of me tries to fight the nagging voice in my head that says I should make sure she can never be one, do I say: "Now, perhaps you'd be interested to learn more about your current situation."
Yet while the statement is worded as a question, do I not allow for my voice to make it sound like anything other than an order and yet the woman makes me wonder if she's not already suffering from Emotional Heartbreak or if the barrier between our worlds makes the distance between her and her mate too great for her to handle as she spats: "Humor me."
I breath out a sigh of annoyance through my nose and state: "I know you are well aware of the existence and that your family has always kept up to date on where they actually come from. Needless to say, that is exactly –." But then suddenly something happens. "Open the cell door." Hari states, ordering the guards, who look confused and hesitant.
I turn to the boy, wondering why he would suddenly disobey my orders and the boy whispers: "She might be able to bring him here. I have to check to make sure she doesn't. I never got that chance back in my time." And while I don't like how he's being vague about this, do I nod and state: "Get two more guards. I will only allow my grandson an audience with her under strict surveillance."
Instantly two more Guard Elves appear from around the corner and the one on the right says: "You know we never leave anything to chance, Your Majesty." Making me smirk at the man. He then takes the same stance as before, proving that he has set up another barrier and the other elf, once the other two have taken to Hari's sides, does indeed lower the cell door, making it shrink into the floor.
Hari cautiously walks in, his whole stance proving that he is but a second – perhaps even less – away from drawing his wand and his eyes prove that the war is still fresh on his mind, probably brought even more to the forefront thanks to where we are and who we're with. This really doesn't make me feel any better for the kid, but does soothe my concerns for his safety.
"Roll up your sleeves." Hari states, but I instantly notice that there is some sort of melody to his voice. Realizing that he is actually trying to use his own Elemental power to coerce the woman into doing his bidding, I smile and think: "He's not just ready to curse her, he's also willing to use his own natural ability to his advantage. Thank goodness, he'll be fine."
I don't dare to think safe as the fact that Hari doubts our safety even in the presence of so many guards and talented elves makes me concerned, but then Narcissa laughs and says: "Nice try, little wimp, but I'm immune to that. Only my destined mate has that ability." And instantly I spot it. Instead of a look of disappointment, does a look of resignation cross over Hari's face.
He turns around and says: "Sorry about this one dad, grandfather. Have it your way then." He tells the woman, pulling his wand and aiming it straight at her before she can even realize he has it drawn. And while I wonder why she didn't think of the possibility of any of us being magical, does Hari then prove one thing beyond a shadow of a doubt; the war pushed him too far.
"Imperio. Roll up your sleeves." Hari commands the woman, the colorless spell actually shooting out of his wand and hitting the woman who is only halfway done with pulling an obviously hidden spare wand. Her eyes glaze over, proving that Hari has actually grown sufficiently proficient with the spell and she even does as ordered, rolling up the sleeves of her robe and shirt.
Hari sighs in relief at the sight of the unblemished skin, but then tenses up again and asks: "Answer me this. Has Voldemort met either you or your sister in recent times? And if so, did he leave anything, anything at all with either of you?" And the woman tonelessly answers: "Yes, yes and no. Yes, he met with us both, but he only left a cup with Bella, nothing with me."
Hari frowns and sighs at this and then walks back. Yet he doesn't turn around as he does so, instead he literally walks back, retracing his own steps and keeping his eye and wand on the woman the entire time, waiting until the guards have left the cell with him before he puts it back in his pocket. And the guards have the bars back up before the woman truly regains herself.
She rushes at the cell door, only to, again, be met with the invisible wall and while one of the guards says: "That was both very confusing and most sufficient, your Highness, well done. We will take her from here." Does Hari just look at us both, unshed tears showing in his eyes. I turn from the boy and look at Jaurion. The lad definitely looks shocked, but then shakes himself.
He walks over and whispers: "You didn't hurt her, did you?" Hari vividly shakes his head and Jaurion smiles as he says: "Then stop looking so scared." And instantly the young teenage father has his slightly older son clinging to him in relief. I smile at the two, but then notice the look in Hari's eyes as he looks at me from over Jaurion's shoulder. "We need to talk."
Boy, do we ever!
And I don't think it takes a genius to find out why Hari was suddenly willing to go against his grandfather's orders or why he was so desperate for those answers. After all, my poll is still up and running and I already voiced my pleasure over which answer was on the winning end there, so I think you guys can all connect the dots just fine.
Okay, so this chapter didn't go as I had planned and next chapter is actually going to involve Hari meeting with the other kingdoms to inform them of all this – expect the poll to be gone soon after this update – before everyone goes back to the reading. And to be honest, I think this book is really going to focus on Lucius the same way the last one did on Jaurion and Lindilwen.
Fun, right,
