Roxas caught up to the person he thought was the imposter, but it turned out to be Xion, as he discovered when she removed her hood. "Xion. Where have you been? Axel and I have been looking all over for you," Roxas greeted.

"You have? Sorry," Xion apologized.

"Let's go home. If you come back voluntarily, Saix will let all this drop. He has to. I don't care what he said to you. I'll be there. Me and Axel will make sure-" Roxas tried.

Xion took a step back. "I really can't. I'm just trying to protect you.

"You don't have to protect me. I'm not afraid." Roxas didn't know why Xion was being so evasive, but he tried to convince her to come home with a song.

Roxas: Please don't shut me out again
Please don't slam the door
You don't have to keep your distance anymore
But for the first time in forever
I just cannot understand

We can fix this hand in hand
We can head to the castle together

Xion: Roxas,
Please go back home

Roxas: Wait, but-

Xion: I know

But leave me be

Just stay away, and you'll be safe from me

Roxas: But, Xion, there's more

Xion: What do you mean, there's more?

Roxas: I get the feeling you don't know

Xion: What do I not know?

Roxas: Axel is supposed to bring you home

Xion: What?

Roxas: He got the orders to bring you back today. He's looking for you now.

Xion: No! He can't!

Roxas: But that's okay. We can just go back home, and everything will be alright.

Xion: No, Roxas. I can't go back.

Roxas: Sure, you can
I know you can
'Cause for the first time in forever

Xion: Oh, I'm such a fool
I can't be free

Roxas: You don't have to be afraid

Xion: No escape from the life aligned for me

Roxas: We can work this out together

Xion: Can't go in reverse

Roxas: We can fix this mess you made

Xion: Oh, no, Roxas, please
You'll only make it worse

Roxas: Don't panic

Xion: There's so much fear

Roxas: We'll make everything right

Xion: I'm not safe here

Roxas and (Xion): We can fix this thing together (Oh)
We can change things for the better (I)
And everything will be alright (I can't)

Roxas stopped singing when he realized that Xion wasn't backing down. "Why not? Come on..." Roxas urged, trying to grab her arm. Xion began to walk away. "Wait!" Roxas succeeded in grabbing Xion's hand as she tried to pass by him. Xion stopped and summoned her keyblade. Roxas let go of Xion's hand, and Xion pointed her keyblade at him.

Axel's chakram flew towards Xion, but she blocked it just in time. It landed on the ground and faded into flames. Axel came down the steps. "Well, hello there... Xion." He greeted.

"Axel?" Roxas gasped. Xion charged at Axel, preparing to swing at him, but Axel ducked and summoned his chakrams. The two of them fought.

Roxas finally had enough. "Stop!" He shouted. Xion hesitated for a moment, which was all Axel needed to hit her in the back and render her unconscious. He carried her over his shoulder. "Xion..." Roxas tried to run toward his two friends, but Axel vanished through a dark corridor, still holding Xion.

4/2/22: I rewrote this whole chapter because what I originally wrote was inaccurate due to the release of Kingdom Hearts III. Unlike when I did this for Sora's Angels, it is now depicting a different group entirely.
