Santana walked in through the door. Her professor just told her about an internship at a local law firm, telling the young woman that she made great progress in the last 4 years she's been at NYU. At first, the latina thought that maybe he was about to tell her something was wrong with her school work, but as he further pointed out the hard work she's put into school, she became elated.

Professor Garret sat forward in his chair. "So, I know a friend of mine from law school and he usually tells me if there are any open slots for internships; He knows I only give him names of the students I believe are excelling. In addition, he knows I give the names of students that I believe are going to put in effort to get something out of this program. And who knows...maybe, you'll end up there in the future."

Yes, her friends and family have seen the way she's been working herself silly throughout college, but it's nice to see that the professors notice her hard work too. As she shuffled to her room of the home, she placed the pamphlet Professor Garret gave her on the bed. It explained what the program was like and all that she would be experiencing. Changing into more comfortable clothes, she walked back towards the kitchen. Mercedes and Quinn were out on a date, so she took the opportunity to open her phone to video call her favorite blonde. The phone only rang a couple times before she was greeted with a wide smile. Brittany waved excitedly in the camera. "Hey babe!"

"Hey Britt! How's it going?"

The blonde sighed. "Ugh, I just got back from working out with my platoon. Jeez I don't know what got my Staff Sergeant in a rut, but he just ruined us today."

Reaching into the fridge, Santana pulled out a wrapped plate. "Why, what did y'all do?"

Brittany giggled. "I don't know, I know no one got into trouble or anything." She shook her head. "He's been a little angry with some other things. Everytime he would come into work, he'd have this scowl on his face. The whole day too."

"Well, maybe it's home related."

Brittany set the phone down to grab her things for the shower. "Eh, I guess." She proceeded to grab a few changing clothes. "Speaking of home, only a few months until I'm back for good." She cheered.

Santana threw the food into the microwave. "Who are you telling, I've been waiting for this day since you left after high school." She smiled. "Mercedes' been going crazy with the wedding planning; she's been needing some Brittany humor to get her mind off of it."

"I'll be back there before you know it." She said elated.

Santana perked up. "Oh! So Professor Garret told me about a nice internship coming up for a law firm a friend of his works at. He said it's a great program and he only recommends the best of the best from his students."

Brittany put her hands together. "That's great!" She sat at a nearby seat beside her phone. "So how do you feel? Are you going to apply for it?"

"Yeah, definitely." She grabbed her food and sat at the kitchen island. "I think that if this goes well, it'll help with understanding everything when I start law school."

Beaming with pride, the girl nodded her head. "I'm so proud of you, Santana. What law school did you apply to again?"

"Columbia Law School. I start in the fall."

"Good to go. How do you think it'll go?"

Santana shrugged, chewing on her breadstick. "I mean, I hope all goes well. I guess I'll see when I get there huh?"

Brittany could tell the girl was nervous. "Well, I for one think you don't have much to worry about. You'll do great."

"It'll be another 3 years of struggle, but it's worth it."

"It'll be closer to you becoming the big shot lawyer you dreamed to be. And I'll be right there with you throughout it all."

The latina smiled bashfully. "Yeah." Yeah 3 more years of schooling isn't so appealing to think about, but the fact that her fiance will be out of the military and present with her makes her feel better. The blonde herself has been taking online classes throughout her time in the service and is close to finishing her degree. Maybe having Brittany getting settled into the civilian environment again when she gets out, can be a good distraction from Santana having to deal with long hours of studying. "Mike has been talking to you about the studio he teaches at right?"

Brittany nodded her head. "Yeah, so we were thinking that when I get back, I could be another dance instructor there as well as getting settled into another job." A thought came to her as her mind started to mill over things she had to do once she arrived back in New York. "Have you thought about any wedding ideas for us? I mean I don't really have any preferences as to if it should be a big wedding or a small wedding, traditional like white colors or certain flowers…"

Santana smiled big. To be honest, with all the wedding planning she's seen her two friends doing, she couldn't wait to get all crazy and busy planning what is going to be one of the best days of her life. "You know, I kind of want to have a big wedding, but I'm not sure yet."

"We can do whatever you want San."

"And I know like half of my family is already as much as a small block party, so it might turn out to be a big wedding."

"Yeah I know right." She laughed. "I have uncles and cousins apart of a few packs in the Netherlands that will want to attend."

"We'll cross that bridge, when we come to it." The two went on to talk about it some more. During that time. All the talk had them missing each other even more.

After a couple hours, the latina sighed running her hands through her midnight hair. "I think I'm going to catch up on some homework now, but we will definitely finish the conversation later."

"Definitely. But yeah, I'll hop in the shower now. I totally smell." They chuckled.

"Alright, I'll talk to you later."

Brittany waved into the camera. "Same. I love you."

"I love you too."

Quinn and Mercedes were walking along the busy New York street. They had just left a cafe down the street and were now headed home. The shorter girl had been waiting for a good time to talk to her mate about something that she's been thinking more about lately. Given that they had loads of school work throughout that last few years, she felt that the timing was off. "Quinn, I think I should talk to you about something."

The blonde mumbled a small ok. "Why do you sound nervous?"

Keeping her eyes along the sidewalk, she started. "So, we're getting married soon right?"

Quinn nodded along.

"You think it's a good time to take another step in our relationship?"

With a side glance, Quinn tilted her head. "Um, I thought you wanted to wait until after the wedding to have kids? I mean, I'm all for it, but that'll be more to juggle in a way because-"

"No, no. It's not about that." She shook her head. "We're damn near done with college, so we'll probably have more time on our hands, besides from starting our new jobs and everything."

"Ok, so…"

Mercedes rubbed her thumb atop of her fiance's hand. "I think it's time I became like you. I mean, I know you said the struggle is a bitch the first couple of months, but-"

"No." Quinn clipped.

Taken aback by her quick response, Mercedes tugged her hand to make her look her way. "Quinn we talked about this."

"No, you talked about it...with Santana. Then proceeded to mention it to me a few times. I never agreed to it. Besides, why not keep things as it is? We've been fine so far."

Before Quinn could open the door, Mercedes stepped between the door and she. "I told you, I feel like this would be better for us both if you were to turn me. I feel like we can finally be one, you know?"

Quinn shook her head. "We are good the way we have it. You're not seeing the bigger picture here as to why I disagree, Mercedes." Stepping around the young woman, she pushed the door open, throwing her coat off to the rack. "It's not that big of a deal."

Santana turned from her spot on the couch to the couple marching through. She could sense something was wrong. Instead, she shrugged and hoped they'd get over whatever the issue was. Mercedes followed behind her. "Ok Quinn, you're the one that told me back in high school, that it makes a whole difference in our connection. Even more so than us just getting married. I had been told you that I wanted this."

Quinn didn't respond as she began changing into more comfortable clothes. Mercedes shook her head. Stepping in front of the blonde, who was now sitting on her side of the bed. "So you're really not gonna do this? Won't even consider it?" She asked, hands on her hips.

"No." She said, shaking her head. "It's dangerous and I don't want you going through that."

"It's not even all on you to decide!" Quinn still rolled her eyes. Mercedes climbed onto the bed. "Fine. I'll just get someone else to do it."

With a quick flash, Quinn rolled to where she was on top of her fiance, eyes glowing neon green. "Now, why would you say that?" She growled.

Mercedes rolled her eyes. Yeah, she knew that would irritate the blonde. "Well, you won't do it."

For a moment, there was silence between the two. Quinn abruptly got up and briskly walked out of the room, with Mercedes quick to follow her. "Quinn!" The blonde continued to walk through the house, heading to the back door. She threw off her shirt and quickly removed her pants, at the same time rushing across the porch.

As quick as she rushed out, she shifted even quicker and took off into the packed trees behind the homes.

Mercedes smacked her lips together and shook her head. 'What the hell…'
