Quinn woke up to the early sun barely creeping through the blue sky. She glanced down at the woman lying against her side and sighed. She was still somewhat hesitant about the whole situation, but nevertheless, after talking to Frannie and thinking about it all, she felt better. Sighing, she maneuvered herself upright to slide to the edge of the bed. Mercedes shifted slightly, rubbing at her still tired eyes.

"Babe?" The woman reached out to feel for her mate.

"I'm right here." She reached for her hand. "I have to be up for work love."

Mercedes shuffled to lay close to the sitting blonde. "Five more minutes." She mumbled.

With a small giggle, the blonde crawled between her legs to lay on top. "Which turns into ten minutes, then eventually I'm rushing off with fifteen minutes to get to work. So, five minutes huh?"

"Ok, your point?" She smirked.

"Point is, I would never get out of this bed if I didn't force myself to. And a certain beautiful brown skinned woman would have no problem with that of course."

"You're not wrong." She smiled.

After a couple seconds, Quinn leaned back. "Hey, so look…" Mercedes followed her, legs loosely lying across on the side. "I'm sorry how I was kind of adamant about everything, especially yesterday."

"Haha kind of?"

"Ok more than kind of." She took a deep breath, running her hands across her naked thighs. "Once we do this though, it's going to take some time to get used to. My parents are going to be constantly in our faces for a while, making sure nothing goes all crazy. Especially since the whole Yessenia situation…"

"Yeah I wonder how they felt about it…"

"It was madness; the elders were heated babe. Just another careless young werewolf to watch like a hawk. Yessenia couldn't look in her grandmother's eyes for months." Quinn shook her head as she recounted the drama. She and Santana were very young at the time to fully understand, but they could tell the tension in the pack was thicker than a block of diamonds. "I wouldn't want any of that to happen to you, to us- "

Mercedes clasped one of the hands and gave it a kiss. "And I know you will do anything to make sure that it doesn't."

"Right." She sighed. "While we're planning this wedding, I don't want you to think about it, okay? We will do this when the time is right; I think that saving this until after the wedding is a great idea. We're already busy with trying to figure what flowers and colors we want to wear."

The two women smiled at each other before sharing a kiss. Mercedes looked into her mates hooded eyes and ran her hands along her shoulders. "So, that's a definite yes though right?"

Quinn nodded. "Yes ma'am."

The woman squealed, closing the distance between the two to seal it with multiple kisses. "I love you so much!"

"Mercy…" As much as she was glad that her fiance was happy, she could feel herself between a very much, still naked Mercedes Jones. "I should really go ahead and start getting ready." She groaned.

"No."

Another groan escaped her mouth and the rising arousal didn't dissipate. At all. "I'm gonna just…" Quinn planted her hands on the bed to try and slide away, only for Mercedes to lock her legs around the blonde's waist, moaning slightly as she did so. 'Yep, there it is.'

Even though her fiance was totally right, she did need to start getting ready for work, she couldn't help her own arousal peeking through her senses. "Ten minutes?" She whispered.

Quinn felt a tug on her ear, the woman having started to kiss down the side of her face and neck. "Fuck." 'Ten minutes my ass' she thought.

An hour later, Quinn found herself running into the entrance of an elevator, willing the metal box to raise faster to her floor.

"Sergeant Pierce!"

The blonde turned to the left to see Spencer running up to her. "Corporal Smid?"

Slowing down his pace, he stood in front of the woman. "Hey! Guess who I got a call from?"

"Someone important I'm guessing…" She giggled.

"My mother."

The two stared at each other for a moment, before the blonde started walking. She nodded her head to get him to do the same. "How is she?"

"She said she's coming home soon. Once we get discharged, she'll be waiting for me up in New York. I haven't seen her in 4 years."

"Are you excited? I mean with all the things you said she had to deal with over in Europe, It'd be a relief to spend some time together."

Spencer smiled. "Yes, I'm particularly ecstatic to see her. It has to be hard being the alpha of a clan. A big one at that." He rubbed his hand through his short, dirty blonde hair. "Sometimes I used to feel like her responsibilities got in the way of her being a mother. I know that's a little shallow, but my dad and I sort of loathed when she had to leave...across the world that is."

"I don't think that's shallow at all. Now that we're older, we have a better understanding right?" Brittany could slightly relate to the man. Her grandmother was a part of the Elder Council; most of them were all still living in the Netherlands. The only Elders who weren't permanently living there, were those who had children living elsewhere. Brittany's parents were born there, but had moved to the U.S in early childhood. The woman didn't see much of her dear grandmother because of her role as an Elder.

"We had her to ourselves more often than not, and then when her father died, she had to step up. I don't know much of what's going on up there...but, hopefully the craziness is coming to a close."

"Well, you know how our life is. There's almost always someone fighting to gain control of a clan, hunters, vampires… We can't expect everything to be rainbows and unicorns."

He giggled. "Wouldn't you love rainbows and unicorns."

"Sounds peaceful to me." She shrugged.

"You're not wrong."

The two settled into a brisk walk, with the blonde woman leading the way. "So I know a spot over in San Diego with damn near the best omelettes you could ever eat, and they serve alcohol. So I hope you aren't busy today." Brittany smiled.

"Nah I have nothing to do, let's go."

The drive was short before they pulled up to the cafe. The car ride mainly consisted of their post-military plans; it won't be long before the two get out and to be honest, they seemed excited for whatever awaits them. Spencer began to ask about Santana and saw the woman clearly perk up at the thought of her mate.

"Let me tell you, I'm going crazy over here. All the emotions in me are just going to explode the moment I see her. I can't wait for you to meet her in person." She beamed.

"Yeah same, sounds like she treats you well. Your very own angel in disguise."

Brittany stepped out of the vehicle, pearly white teeth shining in the late morning California sun. "She always tells me I'm everything good in this rotten world."

Spencer nodded his head throwing on his sunglasses. "She's not wrong Britt. I can only hope to be so in love as you both are."

Brittany pulled the man to her side. "Aww, you don't worry. Whoever your mate is, will be thrilled to have you. And who knows, they could be right around the corner in that cafe. It's one of those things we can't rush; when the time is right, they'll come." She said.

The man always thought of a scenario of when and how they'd meet. He's 24 years old...shouldn't he have met his mate already?

"Yeah, I guess.

Three powerful werewolf Elders walked upon the slick marble floor. The woman in the center, with her brown hair flowing down past her elbows, pushed her way through double doors with grace. Frederika Smid watched as the rest of the men and women of the Elder Council stood from their seats, bowing their heads. She gracefully pulled out the black solid chair that sat at the head of the long brown and black table. Once she took her seat, the rest took that as their queue to do the same. The two that stood by her left and right took the seats to the side of the head.

"What is this news I hear about the Northern Akker Clan? They want to come to a truce?"

One Elder, Antony, nodded and cleared his throat. "It is true. They've agreed to stop whatever dictatorship and injustice they thought would get their clan and our nearby packs to follow them."

The aging, but nevertheless elegant Elder Sophie, proceeded to follow. "It's been 120 years since the start of this madness- my sister working to find peace in this, all the way to her death. What makes you think this issue is nearing an end?"

"This is the first time they've begun to show a willingness to listen. I'm sure their Alpha has seen the damage this has caused his clan and some of our people. Given that we have refused to show mercy in our retaliations, we have caused quite a bit of damage to the clan ourselves."

Frederika looked to Sophie and Hugo, the other werewolf Elder to her side. Antony continued to speak, understanding his Alpha's reluctance. "I assure you, Eva Smid's death will not be in vain. Everything she fought for, is producing results. Great results at that."

At the mention of her mother, her mind swarmed with pride. She watched from afar as her mother ruled the clan and learned to be hard when needed and subdued when needed. Frederika never thought of having a life in the Elder Council; she was happy with the life she lived with her son and husband in America. Eva tried to give her daughter a spot at her side, but the woman didn't want to leave so far from her own family.

In that case, to take Eva's spot at the head of the Elder Council, was to be Sophie Pierce, her right hand woman and younger sister. However, with the unexpected murder of the Alpha, Frederika had a change of heart, eager to find who's responsible for her mother's untimely death. Sophie, knowing that it was still well within the daughter of the Alpha's right to claim her spot, didn't bother for a fight for dominance. She knew her niece had a good head on her shoulders.

After the long meeting, Frederika, Hugo and Sophie stayed. Sitting with a small smile on her face, Frederika looked to her aunt and friend.

Hugo patted her on the back. "It's been a long time coming my friend. What now?"

"I have full faith that everything will be fine between us and the Northern Akker Clan. In the meantime, since everything is settling down, we should take advantage of this downtime...before anything can catch up to us."

Sophie stood. "I think I have an idea. When was the last time u spoke to your son?"

Frederika stood as well. "I gave Spencer a call earlier today; he was so happy to hear from me. I miss him and my husband dearly."

Hugo stood and smiled at the two. "Well, I will stay here, oversee any potential issues that may arrive. Frederika, go ahead pay your family a visit. Sophie, Brittany is almost home from the military right? I'm sure it'll be a nice surprise for her to see you in New york."

The three proceeded to walk back down the marble corridor. Frederika reached her room and removed her deep burgundy cloak. "Looks like I'm coming home for a while." She smiled.
