In their first battle together, Sora, Donald, and Goofy had just finished defeating Guard Armor. "So, you were looking for me?" Sora asked. Donald and Goofy nodded.
"They, too, have been seeking the wielder of the keyblade," Leon mentioned. He and Yuffie had just arrived in The Third District.
"Hey, why don't you come with us? We can go to other worlds on our vessel," Goofy suggested to Sora.
"I wonder if I could find Riku and Kairi..." Sora trailed off.
"Of course," Donald replied.
Goofy bent down to Donald and lowered his voice. "Are you sure?"
"Who knows? But we need him to come with us to help us find the king," Donald whispered.
"Sora, go with them. Especially if you want to find your friends," Leon advised.
"Yeah, I guess," Sora sighed.
"But you can't come looking like that. Understand? No frowning. No sad face. Okay?" Donald said.
"Yeah, ya gotta look funny, like us!" Goofy added. Donald pushed him away.
"This boat runs on happy faces," Donald explained. He decided to sing a song to encourage Sora to be happy.

"Happy?" Sora asked before he lifted his head to show the goofiest smile he could muster. Donald and Goofy laughed at him.
