I watched Sasuke sitting outside on the veranda as I washed the dishes. He had been quiet for a while, just sitting and watching the clouds floating by. After eating his favourite food, Omusubi with Okaka and tomatoes that I had lovingly made for him, he went out into the garden.
"You didn't have to make so much effort, Emi." his voice floated through the open doors. It was amazing how quietly we could talk when Yoichi wasn't home.
"I know but I wanted to." Finishing the last dish, I rinsed my hands and went out to join him.
I sat on his left so I could rest my head on his uninjured shoulder. The way he was holding himself suggested that it was causing him pain. I had to restrain myself, I knew fussing over him was the last thing he would want.
"How did you get hurt?" I wasn't sure if he would even give me an answer, after all we weren't supposed to discuss anything that happened on a mission.
"A Jounin, two Chunin and a Genin were ambushed. They were carrying a scroll that had some intel that The Hidden Sand had gathered for us. I was trying to protect them all but I underestimated the enemy." He actually told me everything about a mission, I couldn't believe it! I didn't know that he had promised himself that he would after having to leave us so abruptly.
"That's my Sasuke. You have a big heart." I smiled.
He liked the way I had referred to him as mine, it made his heart beat a little faster.
"It's not the only thing I've got that's big." he chuckled, he couldn't help saying it.
"Uchiha Sasuke!" I gasped, pretending to be shocked.
We both shared a laugh that inevitably ended in a smoking hot kiss. There was so much to discuss but my mind had gone completely blank as he pinned against the smooth wood of our veranda. My hands were in his hair as he took complete control of the kiss, dominating my mouth with his tongue. He groaned when I bit down on his lip and pulled back to turn his attention to my neck. His lips on my skin were enough to make me melt, I closed my eyes and let myself be completely lost in the moment.
"You have no idea how much I've missed you." he said breathlessly. My eyes flashed open. What? Of course I knew because I felt exactly the same. Did he know what I had to deal with when he wasn't around? Raising a child on my own, living life in a village I was still fairly new to, the problems with Sakura and the increasing pain I felt with each passing day that he was away from home. It seemed like he was oblivious to how I felt.
My body ceased moving against his. He stopped instantly to find out what was wrong. "What?" he asked, genuinely shocked. In all of the years we had been together he couldn't remember a time when I had stopped responding to his touch.
"You made me wait so I'm going to make you wait." I said calmly, looking deep into his eyes so he knew that I really meant it.
"You're not serious, right?" he smirked, running his thumb over my bottom lip. My sudden change of heart had certainly caught him off guard but he didn't believe that it was something I could ever stick to with him.
"I am." I replied sternly, slipping out from underneath him and away from his erection before my urges took complete control over my body.
"Emi!" he protested as I disappeared back inside. I snuck a glance over my shoulder and couldn't help but giggle at the look of disbelief on his face.
My long light brown hair cascaded down the back of the fluffy pink jumper I'd sensibly decided to change into because of both the low temperature and the hunger in my husband's eyes. We walked along the calm streets that were bathed in the warm orange glow from the lights in restaurants on either side of us, every single one packed full of hungry customers. Thick black clouds filled the sky, hiding the stars and partially covering a crescent moon. I wondered if the rain would start before we got back home. Naruto and Hinata's house was a five minute walk from our home, it was closer to the Hokage's office and the Uchiha residence was closer to the entrance to the village. I couldn't wait to see Yoichi, even though I knew he would be much more excited to see his father.
"You look beautiful." Sasuke said sweetly, running his hand through my hair before clutching a handful and tugging gently.
"Stop it." I laughed and shook my head so that my hair could cover the blush that was appearing on my cheeks. I knew exactly what he was suggesting by the way he pulled my hair- me on my hands and knees and him taking me from behind.
He sighed and chose to slip his arm around my waist instead. Even though he was sure he could break my resolve whenever he wanted, he was intrigued to see how things would play out.
When we arrived at Naruto and Hinata's home, Hinata greeted us at the door. Sasuke had sent a clone to Naruto at the same time as he'd sent mine to let him know what had happened on the mission and that everyone was alive but she was still relieved to see that everything was okay. We could hear Yoichi straight away, he was firing off question after question to Naruto. Following Hinata inside, we found our son with an exhausted Naruto sitting together in the living room. Yoichi sprung up when he saw us, his face lit up with a huge heartwarming smile and leapt into our arms for a cuddle.
"Hey!" Naruto grinned, getting to his feet.
"Thank you so much for looking after Yoichi." I said politely, bowing. "I hope he wasn't too much trouble."
"Not at all. He's a good kid." Naruto replied, much to my relief. I knew that sometimes Yoichi could be a handful.
"Dad, I wanna see Susanoo!" Yoichi shouted, smiling from ear to ear..
Sasuke's initial shock quickly slipped into a frown meant for his best friend.
"Sorry! He wanted me to tell him some things about you that he didn't know yet...I said no at first but he wouldn't give up." Naruto laughed.
Stubborn just like his father, I thought to myself.
"Yeah, he gets that from his mother." came my husband's reply.
"Sasuke!" I protested, jabbing him with my elbow. He was much more stubborn than me!
"You're gonna get it now, Sasuke." Naruto joked.
Sasuke looked at me and raised his eyebrows, he really hoped he was going to get it from me. Because I knew exactly what he was implying with the look he was giving me, I had no choice but to move away from him before my face turned bright red. At this rate I would end up giving in before the day was out!
Hinata beckoned me over to the sofa and we sat together talking for a while until it was time to leave. Sasuke scooped Yoichi off my lap and hoisted him up onto his shoulders, our little sweetheart had been nodding off in my arms. I was surprised at how at ease he was around Naruto and Hinata, how he felt free to find out from Naruto about his Dad and how he felt comfortable asking Hinata for seconds at dinner. They had told him that I had to meet Sasuke from a mission and, once he knew we were both safe, he waited patiently for us to return. Honestly, I half expected him to freak out. We had been reunited for nearly a year now but he must still remember the days when it was just him and Grandma, maybe he felt safe enough now that he didn't need to worry about being without us again. The little content smile on his face when we tucked him into bed and wished him goodnight seemed to confirm that.
Hearing Sasuke enter our bedroom, I braced myself. I could not see him naked, rubbing in his ointment for him had been hard enough. Squeezing my eyes closed, I pulled the duvet tightly around my body. I was wearing a pair of panties and one of his tops but I didn't expect him to be wearing anything more than underwear. If he cuddled up to me I'd be able to feel him against my exposed legs and no doubt his hands would snake under his top that hung loosely from my body and find my breasts.
"Something was wrong before I left, what was it?" he asked, laying next to me. His bare legs brushed against mine, I kept my eyes firmly closed willing the erotic pictures in my head to disappear.
"I- wait, are you naked?" If he was there was no way I could even entertain the thought of having a normal conversation with him.
I felt him climb out of bed and listened as he put something on and slipped back under the bed covers.
"No." he said. I covered my mouth with my hands, stifling a laugh.
Prying the duvet from my hands, it loosened enough for him to pull me into his arms. Sex ban or not, he wouldn't feel right if there was even an inch between us. He buried his nose into my thick hair, inhaling the floral scent that it always seemed to carry. The smell of me was the smell of home, he thought. He caught his hand sliding down my side and quickly pulled it away, resting his head on it instead to ensure that it didn't creep away again.
"Can we talk about it tomorrow?" I asked, yawning. "I've got so much to tell you about, like the things I found out about my Grandfather and the new jutsu I learnt." Because Yoichi had been so tired I didn't have a chance to tell them both the exciting news I had been keeping to myself until we were all together. I hadn't realised before how exhausted I was and how badly my body was aching, which was hardly surprising given the eventful day.
He didn't want to wait until tomorrow. His priority had been to find out what had been troubling me before he left, now finding out who had been training his wife had suddenly become just as important. He felt the jealousy slowly creeping through his veins. It was selfish but he wanted me all to himself, even the thought of another man looking at me made his blood boil. What he desired was selfish and unfair but what he truly wanted was for us to never to be apart, if he could he would be with me every second of every day but his love for me was stronger than his obsessive needs so he gave me a freedom that sometimes made him uncomfortable. Realising I'd fallen asleep he sighed and closed his eyes, hoping that he could fall asleep quickly too.
A/N What did everyone think of this chapter? How do you think Sasuke is going to feel when they finally get to talk things through?
