Sasuke had a plan. He was very aware of the consequences but with the new life growing inside my stomach in mind he was prepared to accept whatever punishment I was going to throw at him. I was four months gone when he randomly announced that he needed to leave me alone in the house for a while. For a normal couple it wouldn't have sounded strange at all but I don't think we were ever a normal couple, he hadn't left my side since discovering I was pregnant, even going upstairs without him wasn't something he liked. It was hard to tell if it was paranoia about the Ronin Clan or him being his usual overbearing, over protective self but it wasn't all bad, because I had morning sickness this time he had practically taken over the household chores while I rested.

"So, where are you going?" I called out to him from the sofa as he slipped on his shoes at the door.

I was pretty relaxed about him popping out, there had been no sign of Kaze for a while, Naruto had kindly increased the amount of Anbu around the house and I knew he wouldn't be long.

"We're out of ice cream." He grinned, picturing my horrified reaction in his mind.

"Okay, go." I laughed.

Just like with Yoichi, I was craving Ice cream again, in fact it was pretty much the only thing I could keep down. The fact that I hadn't experienced any nausea with my first pregnancy though really made me wonder if it meant I wasn't carrying another boy but on the other hand I had the same cravings. My next scan couldn't come soon enough.

When Sasuke got outside he attracted the attention of the Anbu, he told them that for the next twenty minutes he didn't want them to stop anyone from entering the house once he was out of sight. They were rightly suspicious but after he proved he wasn't an imposter using a transformation jutsu they agreed. It had been months since the ambush warning and he had a feeling that whoever was tipping me off had been waiting to pay me another visit.

About ten minutes after Sasuke had left, there were almost inaudible footsteps coming down the stairs. I heaved myself off the sofa and stood by the open door that led out into the garden. If it wasn't Sasuke, I was sure the Anbu would rush to help me the second they saw that I was in danger. Initially when I realised it was Kaze I started to relax but when I saw the grave look on his face I felt a chill run down my spine. Without his endearing smile he looked kind of scary.

"Kaze?" I muttered.

He quickly scanned the room, this time he didn't seem convinced that we were alone together.

"Blue eyes, listen-"

Sasuke suddenly burst through the window tackling Kaze to the floor as the glass shattered behind him into a thousand pieces. His sword was pressed to Kaze's neck, blue sparks jolting around it as his childori surged through the blade.

"Sasuke, no!" I shrieked, clutching my stomach and rushing over.

Killer intent was seeping from his body, his eyes cold. He was about to kill him.

"I thought I could sense you nearby." Kaze laughed, his charming personality returning at the worst possible moment.

Just as his laughter faded away so did he, reappearing by the stairs with a patronizing smirk that was solely meant to irritate Sasuke. My husband's arm rose up, a piercing beam of light shot through the air, narrowly missing Kaze who managed to sidestep it impressively quickly. I hadn't really taken into consideration his level of skill before but he was strong. I quickly reached out and clutched Sasuke's face, even though he was reluctant to look away from the man he considered to be his enemy, gradually he turned his head to face me. His narrowed eyes softened, looking more like my sweet husband.

"Please. Just hear him out."

His inner turmoil was showing on his face, if it wasn't me asking him I don't think he would ever have backed down but much to my relief his arm fell back by his side. I really hoped that Kaze wouldn't throw away the chance I just gave him.

Kaze shook his head, "Maybe next time. You need to go and find your kid."

The blood in my veins turned to ice. Yoichi was in danger!

Sasuke's face was an identical picture of horror. He needed to get to Yoichi quickly and make sure he was safe but my pregnant belly meant that I wouldn't be able to keep up. Leaving me with Kaze wasn't an option for him either.

"She'll be fine here with me. Just go." Kaze sighed, scratching the back of his head. An air of irritation hung around him, this time he must have taken a big risk warning us.

Making a snap decision, Sasuke sent a clone to the academy. Even if one of the Ronin Clan was there, the academy was full of skilled Konoha shinobi, there was no way anyone would even get close to our boy. For him the bigger threat was standing right infront of him.

"Why come and warn us?"

"Sasuke!" I scolded. Kaze was doing us a favour, I didn't want him being rude.

"Guess this is a bad time to tell him that it's my baby, huh?" Kaze laughed.

"Kaze!" I cried, covering my face with my hands.

"Right, Yoichi's safe. He's with Naruto, I want you to join him." Sasuke said, his tone deadly and eyes still locked on Kaze.

"So you two can fight? I don't think so."

"You're suspicious of me I get it-"

"Obviously." Sasuke cut Kaze short, lowering his brows into an even deeper frown.

"Or do you just want to cut my throat because I've seen your beautiful wife naked?"

If I wasn't standing between them I think Sasuke would have taken him out the second he finished speaking. Kaze wasn't making the situation any easier.

"Very nice by the way." Kaze slyly added.

This time I couldn't stop them, Sasuke vanished before my eyes and they crashed through the kitchen wall and into the next room leaving a trail of destruction behind them. Kaze withdrew a scroll and summoned a blade, an enormous weapon that was at least twice the size of a normal katana and swung it at Sasuke. There were loud clashes of metal against metal, the two men swung their blades at each other with enough force to make the entire house shake.

"That's enough!" I screamed so loudly my chest burnt.

Both men froze and turned to face me. I was a little lost for words, I didn't actually think that they would both listen but now I had their attention I had to make it count.

What do you think? Will Sasuke and Kaze be able to find some common ground?
