The best thing to do was to start with Sasuke, not only was he more likely to listen to me, he was most likely the more dangerous of the two. Watching my step, I carefully made my way across the rubble towards them. The place was a complete mess.

"Emi-"

"No. Look what you've done to the house!" Kaze started to laugh, assuming I was only directing this to Sasuke. "And you, Kaze."

"Hey, I was just defending myself." He protested.

"No, you're trying to provoke Sasuke. One more clever remark and I won't step in."

This time he just held his hands up in defeat instead of making a joke. Sasuke placed his hand on my bump, looking at me apologetically. I knew he'd apologise, just not in front of Kaze. Okay, so it hadn't been the best introduction but at least now we could get everything out in the open.

Taking a deep breath I said, "Sasuke, Kaze is the son of the leader of the Ronin Clan, the guy I spoke to at the beach. He wants to try and stop any bloodshed...despite just fighting with you."

"Why?" Sasuke asked Kaze, his voice cool and calm.

Kaze leaned back against what was left of the living room wall and scratched his chin. I wondered if avoiding a massacre was his only motive, he came across as the kind of guy that always had something else hiding up his sleeve.

"Look, you're skilled but so are we. If you go against us you'll probably win but we're master assassins with our own bloodline limit, you won't walk away without losing something." Kaze explained, his eyes flashing over me for a split second.

Sasuke caught on to his hint and sheathed his sword, even if it meant trusting someone that got under his skin, he would do it for the ones he cared about most in the world. There was nothing he wouldn't do for his family.

"Okay, tell me what I need to know."

I threw my arms around Sasuke, burying my face in his chest. He planted a kiss on my head and whispered, "Everything's going to be fine."

Luckily the kitchen appliances remained intact so I made us all some tea and something to eat. I would have to try and tidy the place up later, the job was a big one, too big for me when my tummy was rumbling. Sasuke didn't eat much but me and Kaze definitely did, he wolfed it down like he hadn't eaten anything so nice in a long time and I took my time to eat both mine and Sasuke's share whilst rubbing my belly and listening to them talk. Kaze told us that his clan didn't belong to a village, they just made camp in whichever country they felt like and took the kind of missions that most shinobi never wanted to do to provide for everyone in their family. I got the feeling that Kaze would have actually liked to be a part of a ninja village, he didn't exactly speak fondly of his life.

"And this ability you all have?" Sasuke asked, refilling my cup as he spoke. He was counting on me needing to use the bathroom soon.

"Only five of us have it, me included. We call it 'red mist' because when we use it we become incredibly strong and fast but also lose focus on the things around us. I've managed to reach a point where I have some control over myself but the others will kill anyone nearby, friend or enemy."

I spluttered on my tea, imagining being chased by five extremely menacing looking ninja, surrounded by an eerie red aura, each brandishing a huge weapon similar to the one Kaze had used. Sasuke patted me on the back, trying to picture the red mist users himself. He had never even heard of them before but taking on more than one of them at a time sounded dangerous.

"Excuse me." I muttered, suddenly needing to pee. One of the many joys of being pregnant, I sighed.

Sasuke jumped to his feet to help me stand and watched me as I waddled away. He didn't remember my stomach swelling quite as large so early last time. Once he was sure I was out of ear shot he asked the question that had been burning on his tongue.

"She's their next target?" His dark hair fell in front of his face, hiding the pained expression he wore from the other man.

"When they find out she's pregnant, yeah. Don't worry it won't come from me."

"Can you set up a meeting? If I can face your father one on one then I can stop this."

Kaze thought for a moment before answering, "I could but I guarantee you it won't be just him there."

With a heavy sigh, Sasuke looked outside through the broken window at the setting sun. He needed to go and get Yoichi. Life was going to have to be different for him too until this was all over. With the threat growing, we couldn't afford to let our guard down again. I was only in the bathroom for a few minutes but by the time I came back Kaze had vanished so we set off to Naruto's to collect Yoichi. On the way Sasuke assured me that he hadn't killed Kaze in my absence.

At first Yoichi looked happy to see us, then his big, round eyes fell on my bump and he started to pout. "I thought you were having the baby!"

Sasuke had dropped him off with Naruto without telling him why, in his mind he had been hoping when we came back he would have a brother or sister to play with.

"Sorry. A few more months, I promise." I beamed, giving him a huge hug.

The awful state of our home occured to me once again and it must have shown on my face because Sasuke rubbed the back of his head and said, "I'll get it fixed, I promise." Quickly removing the glare, I smiled at him sweetly, knowing he was a man that always stayed true to his word.

Naruto slid the door closed behind him as he and Sasuke stepped out into the garden to speak without Yoichi overhearing them, I watched them disappear with a heavy heart. Now everything was out in the open they would probably come up with a plan to counter attack. I knew how strong they both were but Kaze's family were not ninja to be taken lightly either.

Whilst enjoying some tea and sweets, me and Hinata helped Yoichi with some of his homework, well, I didn't help much, calculating the perfect angle to throw a shuriken at an enemy whilst factoring in the direction of the wind had me lost for words.

"Hey, Mum did you think that I can have a brother? Hokage-sama and Hinata-san are having a boy." Yoichi piped up, whizzing through the rest of the questions in his book.

"Yesterday you wanted a sister!" I laughed. He was always changing his mind. Apparently a brother was good for fighting with but a sister would be better at pretending to cry to get him out of trouble.

"Just have both then!" He beamed, throwing down his pencil and pressing his ear to my stomach.

I felt my heart swell as he suddenly jumped off clutching his cheek, a tiny foot had definitely just given a little kick.

"Sasuke!" I screeched, trying to keep as still as possible so that it would happen again for Sasuke.

He and Naruto both came tearing into the room, Sasuke with his sharingan activated. "What's wrong?" They both shouted.

Hinata, still unaware of Kaze's visit, was lost for words. She had expected excitement but they looked like they were ready for battle!

"Sasuke, come here!" I squealed.

When Sasuke took a minute to respond, Yoichi took his father's hand and dragged him over. It was only then that he realised that there was no danger, there was actually something quite beautiful happening instead.

"I felt the baby move, Dad! It must love me the most. You haven't felt it move before, right? I'm the first one even before you, Mum and it's in your tummy!" Yoichi chatted away happily but he got no response from his father, who had his cheek to my stomach waiting patiently for the newest Uchiha to give him little kick too.

When five minutes had passed and nothing had happened Hinata passed me my tea. Sasuke still hadn't moved, he didn't want to give up and it didn't help that Yoichi kept telling him how amazing it was and how he had missed the baby's first kick.

"Ice cream." Sasuke mumbled and held his breath for and a response. Nothing.

"What? You're hungry?" Naruto asked, overhearing his friend.

I placed my hand on the side of Sasuke's face, feeling the subtle burn of embarrassment appear. He had just realised how silly he looked. Sitting upright, he shook his head in response.

Next chapter will be family time!
