my jobs suck and hate me and want me to never have free time and stuff. i'm trying really hard guys i promise. hopes this makes up for the lack of updates *cries*
Kagome made her way into the village with a med-pak in her backpack that her mother got for her and a book that she decided to delve more into when she got back to the Feudal Era. She knew that Sesshomaru had really needed her before she left, but the supplies that were in the Feudal Era were not exactly that great to work with. There were a few things that helped but most of the time it was trial and error or just not enough supply for demand. She headed to Kaede's hut when she saw Rin sitting outside of it. Hearing her footsteps, Rin looked up and her eyes widened.
"Ms. Kagome!"
"Why are you out here, Rin?"
"Lady Kaede told me that I shouldn't mess with Lord Sesshomaru while he's trying to recover and Jaken bopped me in the head with his staff."
"How is he?"
Rin shook her head. "He is not well at all. Ms. Sango and Shippo went to see another hanyou who grew herbs and brought some back to help with the wound but he still hasn't woken up and Lady Kaede fears he won't recover."
Kagome nodded and touched the little girl on the head.
"Don't worry, Rin, I brought some stuff from my world that might help. I also brought a book that might help us get everyone back to normal. I don't know if it will have all the answers we need, but I think it might lead us to where we need to go. Lord Sesshomaru won't die, Rin, okay?"
"I hope not, Ms. Kagome!" she said, her eyes pricking with tears.
Kagome stopped ascending the stairs and turned back to Rin. She knelt down to her level and grabbed her hand gently.
"Rin, I won't let Sesshomaru die. You believe me, right?"
Rin sniffled and nodded but Kagome could tell she was still troubled. She pulled her to her chest and Rin began to sob into it.
"Please save Lord Sesshomaru! He's not the way he used to be and I'm scared! I don't want him to die!"
Kagome held her close and rubbed her back softly.
"I know, and I won't let that happen. I promise. You have to be strong for him, alright?" Rin nodded in her shoulder. "Now, let me get in there and see what I can do, alright?"
Rin nodded again and Kagome helped her wipe her tears. Seeing that she was alright, Kagome finally made it into the hut.
Kaede looked up and gave a grave smile to Kagome.
"Ye have returned. Did ye get what ye went for?"
"Yes, I did. I also got some things to try and help…"
Kagome looked over at where Sesshomaru had been and almost gasped at his condition. He looked almost dead but the small (but quivering) movement of his chest indicated he was still alive… although barely.
"Kaede… what's going on? Why is he so bad?"
"Tis not the wound itself that is causing a lot of the problem but I fear it's his own spirit within."
"How do you mean?"
"The wound was grave and is not yet completely healed, even with the help of Jinenji's special herb blend that he made specifically for a hanyou, but I'm afraid that Lord Sesshomaru's own mental spirit is making his recovering quite impossible. It's a shock that someone of his caliber could have never thought to have received. It's a shock to everything."
Kagome looked over at Sesshomaru and realize that when Kaede was saying shock, it really was shock, the bad medical kind she had heard people talk about before.
"I can't do anything here… Kaede, I have to take Sesshomaru to my world."
Kaede looked at her in surprise with her one eye.
"What has brought this conclusion?"
"He's suffering through what we call 'shock'. It's not necessarily a shock emotionally, or even mentally, it's his body. We can't treat that here in this time period… I… I have to bring him with me so that a hospital can care for him."
Kaede looked between Kagome and Sesshomaru and then made a face.
"And… how will ye get him to the well?"
"I'm not sure but I need to hurry. If we don't treat him soon, he'll die."
"Will your world accept a hanyou? From what ye have told me and InuYasha, your world has lost the ability to see yokai and do not even acknowledge their existence anymore, just myths. If your society is as advanced as ye say it is, what will they be able to do?"
"I can take care of those details later. Right now, I need to get someone to bring him back with me. Is Miroku around?"
"He is with Sango but I don't think just Miroku will be enough to take him to the well. Besides, how will ye get him out of it on the other side?"
"I don't know, Kaede. All I know is that if I don't do something, he'll die for real. Even if I had stayed here, the wound wasn't going to heal properly. I'll be right back, I promise."
"Wait, you want to take Sesshomaru back to your time through the well?" Sango asked as she took out some coins and gave it to the vegetable man at the market.
"Yes. He's not going to survive here."
"Are you sure that he can go to your world with you?" Miroku asked.
"He did it when I broke my toe."
"How is it, by the way?"
"Probably when I go back I won't have to have the cast anymore. Not the point. The point is that I can't get him to the well without some help and if I don't hurry, we'll lose him forever."
Miroku looked at Sango as she sighed.
"We can put him on Kirara and get him to the well quicker that way. You'll need to ride on her to steady Sesshomaru's body and such but getting him into the well is going to prove tricky."
"I wish we could go with you and help you that way but for the reason it won't let us."
"I know, I wish you could come too so you could see my time, but I'll bring something back and update everyone on what's happening. He'll have to stay other there for a while."
"Give us a second and let us get the last thing on our list and then we'll go and get Sesshomaru."
Kagome nodded and shopped with them until they were done.
Once done, they all headed back to the village and Kagome went into the hut. Kaede was changing out his bandages with Rin holding out the bowl for the old ones. Hearing the flap, Kaede looked over her shoulder and gave a smile.
"I thought I would change out the bandages before he was to be taken away."
"Thank you."
"Where are you going to take Lord Sesshomaru? Lady Kaede said there are many doctors from where you're from?"
"Yes. We have more ways to help him."
"Where are you from?"
"I'm… from a different time in the future. That's why I wear funny clothes and things. If InuYasha was in his right mind, you could ask him and he'd confirm it but… Anyway, I can bring you some sweets from my time like I do for Shippo if you like?"
"I'd like that a lot, thank you!" Rin said with a smile.
"We'll be done rewrapping his wounds shortly. How will you get him to the well?"
"Sango said I could use Kirara to fly us over there and then they would help me get him off once we're there."
She nodded and Kagome waited for them to finish.
Once Kaede was done, Sango and Miroku took either end of Sesshomaru and moved him to the traveling cot. They took each end of that and went out to meet Kagome, who was already on Kirara.
"Kirara, lay down please." Sango asked over her shoulder.
Kirara did was told and they set Sesshomaru down beside her. He moaned and lolled his head a little.
"You'll have to have him lay up against you." Sango said.
Kagome nodded as Sango and Miroku picked Sesshomaru up and struggled to get him onto Kirara's back. All the movement made Sesshomaru's pain escalate and he moaned loudly, opening his eyes a little. He wasn't sure what was going on but he wanted them to stop moving him around. His head was so fuzzy and dizzy and he felt like he could sleep for days. Being in the blackness made things a little better though and he opted to just try and get back to the dead sleep he had been able to keep himself in for the past couple of days. The willpower he still possessed was still strong enough to get his own body to not feel the pain but it seemed to only work as long as he was asleep. Seeing him open his eyes, Kagome looked at him and smiled softly.
"I'm so sorry, Sesshomaru. We're just trying to move you to that I can take you to my time. They will be able to make you feel better, okay?"
He didn't respond; he just wanted to go back to the darkness of sleep and being undisturbed. He dreamt of being himself again, dreamt of his powers being regained, even his stupid arm not being there. He would give anything to have his old body back, even the lack of an arm. Being one armed was less of a pain and hassle than dealing with this body that he didn't understand and couldn't really control. The new moon he was fully human? What the hell was that about? Being a hanyou is such a troublesome thing; no wonder my brother wanted to be anything else but that. Being full yokai or full human would seem better than this hell… he thought to himself. A pain ripped through him and he moaned loudly and realized he should go back into the dark hole of his mind. It would save him humiliation and pain.
"Careful, Miroku!" Sango growled as Sesshomaru let out a loud moan of pain.
"I'm trying, but he's a lot heavier than he looks and getting him off is quite tricky."
"What if we let Kirara shrink down? Would that make it easier?" Kagome asked.
"No, because we need to get him onto the well so that you can take him with you. Kirara's height is about level to it, so her turning into her small form would make things much harder."
Kagome watched in trepidation, fiddling to her thumbnail. She needed to get him back to her time but it was going to prove very difficult when she could hardly get him into the well, much less how was she going to get him out.
"Miroku, you're not paying attention!" Sango growled as Miroku struggled to hold Sesshomaru as Sango tried to get his ankle from Kirara's neck.
"If I may?"
Everyone turned and Sango forgot about Sesshomaru's leg as she grabbed Hiraikotsu from her shoulder.
"What the hell are you doing here? Go back to your master, you disgusting puppet."
"Sango…" Kagome turned fully to him. "What are you doing here, InuYasha?"
"As it seems that Miroku is having a time with my brother and I'm the only other one besides you that has been able to pass through the well, I thought I'd try to help… considering it was boring watching you guys try to get anything done."
"What makes you think we want your help?" Sango asked.
InuYasha held his hands out. "A truce…" He turned to Kagome. "I made a grave mistake and now I'm trapped in something I don't want to be in. I thought Kikyo would be so much safer but I was wrong. She's much more dangerous… I only have a short amount of time before she realizes that I'm not with her. Let me help you get him down."
Kagome thought for a moment but she could see the genuine want in his eyes and she sighed.
"Sango, let him help…"
"Are you serious?"
"He's too heavy to maneuver like that, as dead weight. InuYasha's strong enough to get him off safely."
"With his one arm?" Sango snarled, glaring at her former friend.
"I can do ten times more than either of you could with this 'one arm'. Shut the hell up and let me help if you wanna save him…"
Sango reluctantly moved as Kirara looked at InuYasha cautiously.
"Hey, Kirara… I need you to lay down so I can grab hold of Sesshomaru."
Kirara looked back at Sango and she nodded; she laid down and InuYasha put his arm under his brother. He hoisted him up easily and then pulled him to the well, his lower half dragging on the ground. He somehow was able to get Sesshomaru on the side of the well and Kagome steadied him. She looked at InuYasha as he looked back at her, looking tired and just a little bit confused.
"Thank you, InuYasha."
"Of course…"
"I wish I could do more to help you guys out. I've been doing as much research as I can-"
He held up his hand at her. "Don't worry. I know it's not your fault and I understand everything that's happened wasn't your fault either. The shocking from the beads, the trading, everything. My mind is so warped that it's hard to think straight sometimes but just know that… that whatever happens, I really do understand, but my mind doesn't want to process it. I've been trying to get information from Kikyo as well but I can't seem to find any. I know it will take a good minute for even someone as great as my brother to heal from the wound I gave him. I trust that you'll do everything you can to find a cure."
"Of course I will."
InuYasha nodded. "I should go before Kikyo gets a hold of me again. Please be safe and don't let this stupid guy die. I have a bone to pick with him that I'd let to settle when we're normal."
Kagome smiled. "Right."
"Oh and uh… don't fall for him."
"What?" she said with a laugh.
InuYasha gave her a feral look and she stopped.
"I'm serious. I don't mind helping him but if I find out he has any feelings for you or you for him, I can't tell you what will happen. This body is too instinctual and I won't be able to stop myself."
"Wh- what are you saying?" Kagome said with a nervous laugh. "Are you trying to say you've liked me all this time and now you're trying to be jealous?"
"Exactly." Kagome blinked a little. "I know I'm not the best at explaining myself or showing how I really feel but… this body isn't one to beat around bushes." He put his hand on her neck and moved it to the back of her head, where he grabbed a handful of her hair and pressed himself against her. "You're mine, Higurashi Kagome. No one else can have you and if they try, they will have to fight me for you. Got it?"
Kagome swallowed, her throat dry. "Yes…" she whispered.
"Good." He let go. "Go save Sesshomaru. I'll be waiting as best as I can."
Kagome nodded, speechless, as she got on the side of the Bone Eater's Well and sighed, hoping everything would turn out right for Sesshomaru going through the time warp as well as trying to understand what in the world just happened.
got a lil possessive there inuyasha. i mean, though, kags, do you REALLY want him back to his indecisive self?
