Hey everyone. Again, sorry to keep you waiting but I have been busy. (I'm also sorry that I keep finding stupid little mistakes in my previous chapters so I go back to correct them. Sorry if they didn't make sense before.) I hope you are still enjoying my story, here is the next chapter for you. PLEASE CONTINUE TO COMMENT AND REVIEW. I'd really appreciate some more feedback on my story, just so I know what you all think of it. You'll probably start to hate me for this part, as we are onto the climax of the story.

About two minutes later, Nora and Frank were both sitting in front of Mr Waternoose's desk as he continued to rant at them furiously. Mr Waternoose had never felt so angry in all of his life. Normally, the spidercrab managed to maintain his composure when it came to dealing with situations at work. But this was crossing the line, all he wanted to do right now was squash them like bugs.

"THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!" Waternoose hollered "In all my years of working as Monsters Incorporated's trusted CEO, I have never seen this kind of behaviour! I AM DISGUSTED!"

Frank and Nora hung their heads in shame. To say they were in trouble would be an understatement, in fact they were in absolute disgrace. How could they have let this happen? What were they thinking? Their friends warned them of the consequences if they went too far, but they just didn't listen. Instead, they let themselves get carried away with each other.

"NORA!"

Nora flinched at the sound of her name. She fearfully looked up at Waternoose's angry face. "How dare you engage in such a disreputable act with one of my top Scarers!" He shouted. Nora trembled in terror as she struggled to hold back her tears. She felt so embarrassed and ashamed. How could she have been so stupid? Why didn't she just listen to Jenny? She told her that doing something like this would get them in big trouble, but her love for Frank blocked all those thoughts out. She should have known they would get into serious trouble if they did something like this.

Mr Waternoose continued to yell at her "I allowed you into my factory! I give you the chance to be a Scarer! And this is what I get from you?!" Nora opened her mouth to say something but then Frank spoke up. "Sir, this isn't Nora's fault-"

"And…YOU!" Mr Waternoose turned to Frank with a harsh glare and pointed his finger at him, making him shut his mouth. "I never thought I'd expect something like this from you Frank! It was bad enough when you let that boy into the child's room with you, but this is UNACCEPTABLE!"

If looks could kill, Frank would have been dead in mere seconds. He felt so guilty, why did he have to do this to Nora? He never meant for this to happen, all he wanted was to spend more time with her. But now, he had ruined Nora's chance at being a permanent Scarer, as well as his own. He felt like such an idiot.

"Was this your plan all along?! Did you bring her here, just so you could continue with your devious relationship?!"

"No Sir! It's not like that! We just made a bad mistake-"

"Monsters Incorporated can't afford any mistakes!" Mr Waternoose snapped "Our policy clearly states that monsters cannot have personal relations while working as a Scarer! We're a company designed to make scream energy, in order to power an entire city of Monsters! AND THAT'S IT!"

The couple shrunk down in their chairs.

"Now, you can either end this relationship right now, or I will have no choice but to fire you both! So what's it going to be?!" he demanded.

That last sentence crushed them both. Frank couldn't give up the monster he loved! But he didn't want to destroy her dreams either, not after how he helped her to achieve them! He had really messed up big time.

Nora couldn't take it anymore. She couldn't stand the thought of Frank being fired all because of her. She couldn't bear to live with that. She cared about him too much to let his reputation and career be destroyed. Although it meant giving up her dream job and being with Frank, she knew in her heart what she had to do.

"Sir?" Nora spoke for the first time during the whole conversation "Can I just say, I am so very sorry about all of this. It was wrong for us to do what we did. Frank wouldn't have even have done this if it wasn't for me. Please don't fire him, just let 'me' go instead."

Frank couldn't believe what he just heard. He opened his mouth to ask 'What are you doing!?' But Nora held a hand up to stop him. A sad look in her eyes begged him to be silent, before turning back to Mr Waternoose. "Frank doesn't deserve this, he's been here longer than I have. He's a hard worker and the best Scarer I've ever met. I'm the reason all of this happened, I'm sorry. I'll leave, but don't let me be the reason Frank has to as well." She pleaded.

Frank could only stare in shock 'No! Nora don't do this!'

"Please, fire me by all means, but let him stay." She finished.

Mr Waternoose looked back and forth between the two. He still looked angry, but it was clear he was thinking about something. After a few seconds of pondering, he spoke.

"Very well."

Before she could say thank you, he gave her a final warning "But don't let me see you near this factory or any of my Scarers again! Now get out." He growled "I want you out of the building in twenty minutes!"

Nora was forlorn. "Yes sir." she replied quietly before standing up and moving towards the door. Frank was about to get up to follow her, but Waternoose stopped him.

"Stay where you are Mckay! I'm not finished with you!"

So Frank reluctantly sat back down as Nora stepped out of the office. She looked back to the (now closed) door and let out a sigh, before making her way to the ladies room to clear out her locker.

As Nora began to gather her things together, she paused to look at the picture of Frank inside the locker. After a few seconds, she buried her face in her hands, desperately fighting the urge to cry. On one half, she was relieved that Frank could still stay. But on the other half, she was distraught that she would never get to perform another scare or possibly be able to see Frank again.

Unfortunately, Nora couldn't avoid some of the employees on the way out. The monsters stared and whispered to each other as she walked past. Nora draped both her wings over her face to hide her shame. After what they had just witnessed, who knew what they must think of her now. After pushing her way out the doors, she gave the factory one last look before flapping her wings and flying home.

Nobody could believe what had just happened. Of course they were all shocked when Mike sneaked through Frank's door, but to see him smooching another monster in the Janitors closet; that was just completely unexpected. Even when the monsters continued with their scaring work, nobody could stop talking about it.

"I knew Frank had game but I never thought he'd actually do something like that!" One of the guy monsters said.

"I knew there was something going on between him and her" one of the girl monsters said "It was so obvious. I could sense it from a mile away."

"It's very unlikely we'll be seeing that girl again anytime soon." Another girl noted.

Jenny knew that Waternoose would never let Nora stay now. What Nora did was beyond foolish, but she couldn't help but feel sorry for her. She had grown to like Nora; she was a good friend to her, she was kind and fun to work with and she had a passion for scaring. She was going to miss her, but she was also sad about how this whole mess would affect Nora. "Oh, Nora." She sighed.

"No doubt Frank's in for it this time" a second guy said.

"Do you think he'll get fired to?" a third guy questioned.

"What do you think genius?" the second guy asked with sarcasm.

"He might not."

"Are you kidding!? After what he just pulled, he's sure to get the boot!"

"Well if he does go, at least it'll give somebody else a chance to be the scare leader." Hank stated

"Not the time, Hank." His friend said disapprovingly

"I'm just trying to be positive." he responded

"I'd be surprised if Frank didn't get kicked out." Said the forth monster

"Speak of the devil…" The fifth one started "Guess who just came back." The Monsters turned to see Frank coming back onto the scare floor. "Hey Frank!" Hank said "What happen-"

Without looking to them, Frank just shoved past his co-workers and marched towards his station. Judging by the look he had on his face, he was not in the mood to share details right now. The other monsters decided it was best not to get involved with it, so they just carried on with their work as best as they could.

Mr Waternoose had ordered Frank to return to his work immediately and to never speak of this again. Frank didn't want talk to about it anyway, why would he want to? He was too embarrassed and upset, plus he couldn't believe what Nora had just did for him.

By the time everyone went home, they had told their friends and families about what happened. In just two days, nearly every monster in the city learned of it, the news had spread faster than peanut butter on bread.

Nora had to be very careful, she didn't really want to go out, but she had to try head to the store for some supplies she was running low on.

It was early afternoon, thick grey clouds were beginning to cover up the sky. Nora stumbled out of her apartment and headed down the street, trying to evade any monsters in the process. She swiftly ducked behind cars and trees to avoid detection. She couldn't risk anyone recognising her from Monsters Inc. and who knew how many other monsters they would've told about her and what she did at the factory.

On the other side of the road, she could see a small trio of monsters gossiping just loud enough or her to hear.

"Did you hear about what happened at Monsters Inc? I heard Frank Mckay was kissing a girl in the Janitors closet!"

"I know! Crazy right? Who'd of thought two Scarers would actually do something like that!"

"I don't think she was even a real Scarer!"

Nora cringed in embarrassment. She covered herself with her wing as she quickly moved past them, luckily they didn't notice. She sighed and carried on walking, careful not to be seen. Then something caught Nora's eyes that made her stop dead in her tracks. She looked to a kiosk nearby and saw a group of monsters reading some freshly delivered newspapers. By the looks of it, they were really absorbed in it.

Nora slowly made her way to the side of the kiosk. She picked up one of the Newspapers and her eyes widened in horror when she saw what was printed on the front page. The front headline read: FRANK MCKAY SECRET RELATIONSHIP EXPOSED. It was like a nightmare come true!

"Hey! Look! It's Frank's girlfriend!" Nora gasped and turned around to see the monsters had spotted her. Dropping the paper, she turned and started running away. But she halted when another monster in front of her pointed at her. "That's her! That's the girl Frank Mckay kissed!"

This started to draw even more attention. Nora quickly darted in another direction, only for the monsters to follow her. Soon a whole crowd of monsters began chasing her. Nora was desperate to fly away but she couldn't get a clear space to take off. As the monsters chased her, they began hitting her with many questions.

"Hey, is it true you're dating Frank Mckay?!"

"How long have you known each other?!"

"Did you really kiss in the closet?!"

Nora didn't like this at all "Please! Just go away and LEAVE ME ALONE!" she cried as she sprinted ahead of the crowd. She ran towards a nearby building and bolted around it. She opened her wings ready to take off…only to badly collide with someone, which briefly sent her into a daze.

"Nora?" A familiar voice immediately brought her back to her senses.

"Frank?"

"Nora, where have you-"

"Frank! Quick! We have to hide! Fast!" she quickly said in a panicked tone.

"Why? What's going on?" he asked.

She turned to look behind her and Frank followed her gaze to see the mob of monsters coming round the corner. Franks eyes widened.

"Come on!" He grabbed her hand and led her across the road. The crowd rushed down the street, still hunting for Nora. Luckily, there was a bunch of thick bushes nearby that she and Frank managed to duck behind. Once the mob had past them, Frank slowly peaked his head out.

"Okay, they're gone." He said

Nora sighed and stepped out of the bushes. She walked a few steps down the pathway and stopped to stare off into space. As Frank got up, he looked in the direction the monsters went. He then looked back to Nora with sympathy. "You've been getting all the attention too huh?" he guessed.

Nora didn't answer, she just continued to stare straight ahead. Frank frowned as he approached her. He was quite unsure about how he would talk to her after how they left each other. "I've been trying to call you but you wouldn't pick up, I was worried."

Nora still didn't say anything, Frank sighed "Nora, I am so sorry about all of this. I really am. I never meant for this to happen. You have every right to be mad at me." He said with sincerity.

"No Frank, I'm the one who started all of this." She replied

"What are you talking about? You didn't start it." Frank responded

"Yes I did! If it hadn't been for me and my stupid scaring fantasies, I wouldn't have wanted to go to Monsters Inc! I wouldn't have gotten you into trouble! And neither of us would be in this situation right now!"

"That's not true Nora! I was the one who was trying to distract you from work. I know things look really bad but I promise we'll find a way to fix this."

"HOW?!" Nora blurted out "How Frank?! You say we can fix it but we just can't! Our secret is out! It's in the papers! I can't even go out on the street without attracting a large crowd! It would've been better if I had never became a Scarer in the first place!"

"Nora, how can you say that!?"

"Because it's ruined both our reputations and possibly the Factory's too!"

"What about all the time we spent training together? Did it mean nothing to you?!"

"NO! I loved every moment of it!"

"Then why did you choose to give it up! Why did you convince Waternoose to keep me but let you go! I thought you wanted to be a scarer!"

"I had to! I wouldn't have forgiven myself if you were fired. You trained you're whole life to become a Scarer! Unlike me, I didn't even go to a scaring school!

"But that didn't matter! I helped you improve and you got in anyway."

"And look where it's got US! Face it Frank, we messed up! Everybody is now going to be watching us now! It'll be impossible for us to see eachother and we won't be able to be alone together. We can't live like this!" Nora panted.

Then came a brief silence between them.

As much as Frank hated to think about it, Nora was right. It would be too difficult for them to see other now that the whole city knew about them. How would they carry on with their lives now?

Frank was sullen. "I'm sorry Nora…all I wanted was to help you achieve the thing you wanted most."

Nora sighed "You've already done so much for me Frank. You showed me that I could do things I thought I couldn't do. For every second you chose to spend with me, I treasured all of it. And for that, I am truly grateful." She said in a sad but honest tone. She looked up at Frank, her eyes began to water.

"I love you Frank…" she drew in a ragged breath "but I can't do this anymore."

"Nora…what are you saying?" he asked fearfully

"I need some space…" She replied sadly "...I'M SORRY!" she turned around took off into the sky just before she started to cry. Tears fell from her eyes like the raindrops that began to fall down from the clouds above. She felt her heart beginning to break.

"Nora!" Frank called out desperately "NORA!" Frank reached his hand out but Nora had already flown further into the gloomy sky, her silhouette disappearing through the pouring rain. He stared sadly after her, as his arm slowly dropped back down to his side. He looked down in despair, his eyes began to form their own tears. He blinked them shut to stop them from coming out. The rain began to get heavier but it didn't seem to matter to Frank.

'What have I done?

OH NO! This is not good! Sorry to do this to all of you. But don't worry, this story WILL have a happy ending I promise. Remember: Don't forget to leave comments! (As long as there's not rude stuff). Hope this chapter was good enough for you.
