Pride of Your Soul

Chapter 34: Kyurem

AN: Now, not gonna lie. There's one thing about this chapter (and onward for the rest of the story) that I'm kinda nervous about. You'll know what it is when it shows it.

Anyways, onto the reviews:

Tony Anderson: Hey, glad you liked it!

TheDarkMaster4000: Oh I feel like you'll like this one then.

Anyways, thanks for the usual support and your highlights like always.

Defender31415: Well, here you go!

AiKokoNoot: Hey, glad you enjoyed the fight scenes! In my opinion, I feel like the fight scenes are the parts I'm the most confident with writing out, since it lets me explore the countless options, strategies and interactions within battling.

FantasyLover88: Glad you enjoyed the last chapter!

Jeck: Glad you liked everything that happened in the last chapter!

And to answer your question, once PoYS officially ends (barring any post-epilogue EX chapters like I did with CoYS that'll most likely get uploaded sporadically), the main plan is to continue my Platinum story (Platinum Witch) and my X/Y story (Fidelity) where I left them off. I do also have a Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon story planned, so there's that. And with Sword/Shield coming up, I do have some ideas for that.

ErisLuna35: Long time no see! At this rate, I think I can finish this by fall (unless I get lazy again). Regardless, I hope you enjoy the ride once it reaches the end.

Oh yeah Eve evolved. Into something.

Guest: Glad you liked that part with Colress. I realized that I never had Colress properly use his memetic-level one liner; and the opportunity presented itself here.

Alright now here we go!

*EDIT: Oh my god I'm so sorry; you literally posted your review as I was editing this chapter, so I missed you!

Acethe69th: Thanks! Glad you're enjoying PoYS so much! Oh yeah funny thing you mentioned Red and a badass Charizard...

Okay now here we actually go!

Lacunosa Town

Curtis ducked to avoid a green blast, before Rampadros shot a Flamethrower at the assailing genesect. The bug fell to the ground, but was replaced by two more from the swarm that was attacking Lacunosa Town. Curtis clicked his tongue as he commanded his gastrodon to go for Muddy Water to clear out some more genesects. The slug shot a ball of muddy water behind Curtis, causing a roaring wave of murky water to wash away the genesects that tried to attack him from behind, aiming for his father in the process.

"You alright, Dad?" Curtis asked.

"Y-Yes," Mr. Lapis nodded shakily.

Curtis quickly shifted his attention back to the onslaught of genesects that appeared out of nowhere. Unlike the majority of Unova, Curtis recognized the purple creatures as Genesect, having seen Rosa catch one for herself not too long ago. What he did not expect was a horde of them to show up from the sky and attack everything in sight. This was no doubt the work of Team Plasma, which could only mean that they were going all in on whatever it was they were planning.

Regardless of the seemingly hopeless situation, Curtis kept hope. Hope that Nate and the others would defeat Team Plasma and put a stop to this madness. Everyone just had to persevere long enough to weather out the storm that Team Plasma unleashed.

The only solace Curtis had right now was that Yancy was at the safest place she could be right now; where Nate could protect her.

...Or so he thought she was as Teddi suddenly dropped down from the sky and slam a genesect that was about to shoot him in the face.

"Curtis!"

Curtis looked up to the sky to see Yancy on Toge, as she sent out Snor and Audi to assist the efforts.

"Yancy!?" Curtis gasped. "What're you doing here?!"

"I figured you could use some help," Yancy replied.

"But what about the others?"

"They'll win. I know it."

Curtis glimpsed at Yancy, who had a confident, determined look on her face. She placed all her faith into Nate and the others, just like Curtis had done, and chose to come aid her family. Who was Curtis to question Yancy's decisions?

"Alright then," Curtis nodded. "I'm counting on you to help me out here then."

"You got it," Yancy nodded.

"Yancy..." Mr. Lapis mumbled.

Yancy glanced back at her father. The last interaction they had, she declared her independence from the 'family business' and expressed her resentment towards what he made her do. The man, for his part, looked guilty from the memory. He also felt guilty that he could not do anything to help his children in such a dire moment, and was forced to rely on them again just to survive.

Yancy merely flashed Mr. Lapis a small, gentle smile that somehow put Mr. Lapis at ease, before focusing her attention to the swarm of genesects. She may not be as strong as Nate, or Rosa, or Hugh, but she was not helpless. She would do her part and protect Lacunosa Town from Team Plasma.

Everyone just had to believe in Nate and the others to stop Team Plasma, and do their very best to fight back against Team Plasma however they can.

Aspertia City

The students made sure to lock the door and cover all the windows as they huddled in the classroom. The strange purple machines suddenly showed up out of nowhere and were wreaking havoc all across the city, and they could not do anything but hide out of fear for their lives. Their Pokémon were out to fight off any of the machines should they find them, but honestly they were not sure about their chances.

"Are we gonna die...?" one of them asked.

"No, of course not!" another student reprimanded. "Professor Cheren will definitely have noticed and is coming to save us! He's the Gym Leader after all!"

"I wonder if Rosa and Hugh are alright..." a girl asked.

It has been six months since they last saw their fellow students. The last they had heard about them was when they supposedly got caught up in some trouble at Undella Town, which forced Professor Cheren to head there to see what was going on. The students could only wonder what happened to them afterwards. Are they fighting off the purple machines too? Are they fighting Team Plasma?

"Knowing those two, they're probably fighting whoever it is that's causing all this," a boy said. "We gotta believe in them!"

Before anything else could be said, the wall suddenly exploded out, before several of the purple machines marched forward into the classroom and spotting the kids.

"Oh no!" one of them cried as they all cowered back.

The Pokémon attacked one of the machine, but it swatted them all away with ease, before aiming its cannon at the kids. Before it could shoot them, an unfezant suddenly swooped down and rammed into the machine, knocking it away from the students.

"Everyone!"

The kids all in relief to see their beloved Professor Cheren, having arrived just in the nick of time.

"Professor Cheren!" they exclaimed in relief.

"Sorry I'm late!" Cheren said as he sent out Haxorus to defend the children. "That was a close one...I can't believe there's so many genesects...Just how many did Team Plasma create...?"

As the machine got back up, more of them appeared from behind to assist their comrade. The new horde aimed their sights at Cheren, who sent out his haxorus to assist his unfezant, knowing full well that the bird alone would not be enough to take them on.

"Unfezant, Sky Attack! Haxorus, Brick Break!" Cheren commanded.

Unfezant ate a red herb, as a strong light cloaked around him. Unfezant and Haxorus charged forward, slamming into the genesects. Their attacks smashed into three to four of them in the front, sending them crashing into the crowd, but several more immediately took their places, firing off simultaneous waves of Techno Blasts at Unfezant and Haxorus. The duo were forced to shield themselves from the attack, taking them all to protect Cheren and the students.

"Unfezant! Haxorus!" Cheren cried out. Once the attacks stopped, Cheren quickly checked up on them. While the assault certainly did a number to them, they were still standing. Cheren quickly rummaged through his belongings and took out two Full Restores, intending on healing them. One of the genesects saw what Cheren was trying to do, however, and shot a thread of silk at the trainer. "What the–!?"

The thread of silk latched onto the trainer, before the genesect pulled on it, forcibly dragging Cheren over to them. Cheren let out a yelp of pain, before the genesect stomped its foot onto his head.

"PROFESSOR!" the students cried out in fear.

Unfezant and Haxorus immediately sprang forward to save their trainer, but several more genesects got in their way, stopping them in their paths.

'No way...are you telling me I'm going to die here...?' Cheren thought as the genesect aimed its cannon at his head and began to charge energy.

'Bianca...!'

Right as the genesect was about to shoot Cheren in the head, yet another explosion interrupted everything, this time blasting away several genesects behind them. Startled, both Cheren and Genesect looked behind to the giant cloud of dust. As Genesect began to analyze what just happened, something shot out from the dust and punched the purple machine in the face, sending it flying away from Cheren and into the corner of the room next to the kids, who immediately jumped away.

"What?" Cheren blurted as he glanced to see his savior. His savior was a bipedal, insectoid Pokémon with a red, metallic exoskeleton, dark yellow eyes and large, round pincers that had yellow dots on them. "A...scizor...?"

The scizor glanced down to Cheren, before quickly cutting the silk that ensnared the man, freeing him. The genesect Scizor just attacked got up from the blow, before focusing its attention at him.

"Bullet Punch!" a feminine voice yelled out.

As Genesect aimed its cannon at Scizor, Scizor immediately bulleted towards Genesect and rammed his claw into Genesects gut repeatedly, fast enough to lift the purple menace off the ground by punching it alone. After about ten punches, Scizor finished off with an uppercut against Genesect's head, flipping it over as it fell on its cannon. It twitched slightly, before its red eyes dulled and became blank and dim.

The other genesects let out a shrill shriek as their force cleared the dust cloud that obscured half the room. The dust cloud revealed a new individual, a young woman with sharp green eyes, wearing a white hat, a sleeveless teal shirt and a pink skirt, and long blue socks and athletic shoes. Accompanying the woman was a large, a squat, quadruped Pokémon with bumpy, blue-green skin and a large, pink white-spotted flower on its back. In front of them was a bipedal, slightly reptilian-like Pokémon with a spherical body covered by a shell of plated rocks.

"Is everyone alright?" the woman asked.

"A venusaur...and a golem too?" Cheren asked, before looking towards the woman who was presumably the trainer. "Yeah...we're fine now..."

"That's good," the woman sighed in relief, before turning her attention to the horde of genesects that were all aiming at her. "But looks like we have other things to worry about right now."

"Who are you?" Cheren could not help but ask.

"Who am I?" the woman asked, before smiling confidently as Venusaur, Golem and Scizor prepared to fight. "Just a trainer passing by."

Accumula Town

Bianca yelped in surprise as she ducked to narrowly avoid a Techno Blast aimed at her, before Emboar shot at the attacking genesect with a Fire Blast, the fire blasting straight into its head. As the genesect skidded across the ground, several more gathered around Bianca. Bianca gulped slightly as Emboar and Chandelure never dropped their stances. While Bianca had two Fire-types at her disposal, which made clearing the genesects easy, the numbers did not seem to dwindle as they seemed to have an endless supply of genesects ready to replace the fallen ones.

"This is tough..." Bianca said. "Emboar and Chandelure can't keep this up forever."

While Bianca was glad she was able to make it in time, she was the only trainer who stood a chance against Team Plasma's army. There was only so much she could handle by herself. Bianca could really use some help. Unfortunately she was not in a position where she could stop and contact someone nearby to aid her; Mrs. Warren or her dad would be really good right about now, but Bianca supposed that they were most likely busy defending Nuvema Town.

The genesects did not give Bianca any time to come up with an answer however, as they continued their attacks and shot a volley of Techno Blasts at her.

"Heat Wave!" Bianca quickly called out to Chandelure.

The chandelier released an intense gust of heat at the Techno Blast volley, intercepting the lasers with his own attack and stopping them from harming Bianca. Chandelure began to pant slightly, a sign Bianca caught but was not happy about. Chandelure was starting to become fatigued, which meant he was close to becoming completely exhausted. If she lost Emboar and Chandelure, then it would only be a matter of time before the slew of genesects would wear the rest of her team down and then proceed to remove Bianca from the equation.

"But still...!" Bianca persisted. "I won't give up! I'm not gonna let you harm anyone here!"

The army of genesects did not give her a verbal response, marching forward in unison mechanically, aiming their cannons at Bianca. Emboar and Chandelure got in front of her, ready to defend her to the very end. But right as they were about to fire off another volley of Techno Blasts, several jagged rocks shot down from the sky and rained down upon the genesects.

"WOAH!" Bianca yelped as she shielded herself from the freak storm of rocks that showered upon the genesects. "What was that!?"

"Are you alright!?" a feminine voice cried out.

Everyone looked up to the skies to see a large reptilian, purple Pokémon with large, membranous wings, small, sharply pointed ears, narrow eyes, a ridged snout with a large mouth. Riding on top of the creature was a young woman with long, yellow-blonde hair and equally yellow eyes wearing a long sleeved black shirt under a yellow tunic dress that is edged with green, blue tights and purple ankle boots. A small, yellow rodent-like Pokémon with red cheeks and a long tail with a heart-shaped tip peaked its head above the reptile's back.

"Who're you?" Bianca called out. She would take whatever help that decided to present itself on a silver platter, but obviously she did not know who this person is and why they decided to help. The aerodactyl and pikachu was enough for Bianca to realize that they were most likely a foreign trainer. "I mean thank you for saving me and all, but who are you!?"

"Ah, I'm not anyone suspicious or anything like that!" the woman replied back almost frantically. "I'm here to help!"

The genesects proceeded to target the newcomer with their cannons, before firing off the volley of Techno Blasts intended for Bianca at her instead.

"LOOK OUT!" Bianca cried out.

The aerodactyl saw the volley of lasers, before flying around at a blistering speed, avoiding the otherwise-devastating attacks.

"Tera, Stone Edge! ChuChu, Thunderbolt!" the woman commanded quickly.

The pikachu, ChuChu, jumped off the back of the aerodactyl, Tera's back and released a powerful streak of lighting down upon the genesects. Tera, meanwhile, summoned more jagged rocks and shot them down towards the genesects. The combination of attacks devastated the horde, taking out quite a few in the process.

"Wow..." Bianca said, amazed at the sight of the newcomer's offense.

Tera descended down towards the ground, allowing for the woman and ChuChu to land next to Bianca. The genesects let out a growl, before whatever remained began to charge for them.

"Here they come!" the woman alarmed Bianca, as the two blonde women got ready to fight the genesect army with their Pokémon.

Hilbert and N merely returned Ghetsis spiteful glare with their own glares. Both Zekrom and Reshiram glared at Kyurem, who only returned it with his own, vacant yellow gaze. They both jumped off their respective dragons, where Hilbert rushed over to Nate.

"N...! Brother...!" Nate mumbled.

"Are you alright?" Hilbert asked Nate.

"Y-Yeah," Nate muttered. "Almost died though, so I've seen better days..."

"Well glad you're well enough to make jokes," Hilbert sighed in relief, smiling at his little brother.

Nate then glanced over to N. The last time the two had met, Nate had tried to steal Reshiram from N, while the lime-haired revolutionist had made Nate question his own beliefs and hypocrisy. N still had that same look on his face when he managed to make Nate's resolve waver with words alone.

"N..." Nate muttered.

"It's been a while, Nate," N replied as he glanced to the boy. "...You changed since the last time we met. Changed for the better. I can tell. You look much better now. Honestly I quite like this new look."

"Oh bite me," Nate grumbled, while N chuckled in response.

"You did well," N gently said to Nate, before facing Ghetsis. "Leave the rest to us."

"It's been a while, you insufferable brats," Ghetsis said. "I knew you two would show up when Unova is thrown into a state of disorder. Predicting the actions of freaks like you is child's play. Whether it be because of the genesect pillaging Unova, or Kyurem freezing Unova, you two would have been forced to act and face me!"

"What an ugly formula..." N could not help but mutter.

"You escaped last time, but this time you won't be so lucky," Hilbert growled. "I'm bringing you to justice one way or another, you damn shitty priest!"

"I can't allow selfish humans like you to make Pokémon suffer!" N yelled at Ghetsis, his previous gentleness having evaporated in favor of fervent defiance against the man in front of him. "I won't let you cause any more suffering with this asinine plan of yours!

"And besides, I like Unova. It's the place that taught me how to live as a human…It's the place that made me notice the harmony between Pokémon and humans living together…It's the place where I met the two people who showed me the errors of my ways...I will protect the Pokémon and humans who live here!"

"Excellent!" Ghetsis replied. "That was a moving expression of your determination! So the education I provided to make you king wasn't a complete waste, then!"

"That isn't really flattering, coming from you," Hilbert muttered.

"But I still haven't forgotten about your betrayal!" Ghetsis snarled, ignoring Hilbert in favor of N. "Even though I was kind enough to find you when you were living in the forest with Pokémon, and take you in, and care for you...In the end you were selfish and disturbed my plans! You and the Pokémon were meant to be tools for me to accomplish my plans! I was supposed to use your abilities to rule Unova, and you and that brat RUINED IT!"

"That's rather hypocritical, coming from you," Hilbert retorted aggressively.

"Hilbert, please," N said to Hilbert, before facing Ghetsis once more, taking a deep breath. "Y'know, it's hard to call you this, but…Father!"

To Nate's surprise, Ghetsis flinched upon N referring to him as 'Father', taking a step back involuntarily.

"Please understand. Pokémon are not tools," N reasoned with Ghetsis. "Pokémon and humans take each other to greater heights. I mean, look at your own Pokémon! Even if they may be evil and agree with your warped and twisted views, they still understand and find solace with you! They are our wonderful partners! Some humans understand this. You're smart enough to realize this...so why can't you?"

Ghetsis gritted his teeth as he glowered at N with a frantic expression. "SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT YOUR DAMN MOUTH! Don't talk like a person, you freak! NO REAL PERSON COULD TALK TO POKÉMON!"

N tightened his frown, while Nate growled at Ghetsis. N tried to say some more to Ghetsis, trying to reason with the man he had known as his father some more, but Hilbert stopped him, placing a hand on his shoulder.

"N...don't bother..." Hilbert said. "It's obvious he won't listen to you. We tried it your way...now..."

"...You're right..." N mumbled sadly. "I was hoping I could get through to him...but..."

"You damn brat! You dare lecture me!?" Ghetsis snarled, his teetering sanity starting to become more blatant with each passing second. "A freak like you shouldn't get so cocky like that! I'm the one who taught you to even use your brain like that! But y'know what!? I forgive you."

"You...forgive him?" Nate asked, confused.

"Yes," Ghetsis said, his manic smile becoming even more frenzied. "I'll forgive you two for everything you've done to set back my dreams. After all, you two brought Reshiram and Zekrom to Kyurem and I on a silver platter! I knew this was much easier than having to seek you two out!"

"That doesn't matter!" N yelled as Reshiram and Zekrom let out a low growl. "We know your plan! It won't work!"

"It doesn't matter if you know shit!" Ghetsis shot back. "By bringing the two dragons in front of Kyurem, you, my plan will become a reality!"

"And how do you plan on that?" Hilbert asked. "In case you haven't noticed, it's two versus one!"

"Oh, allow me to show you then!" Ghetsis boomed as he brought out his sickly, blackened right arm to reveal a small, gray orb. "It is time to show you the true purpose of the DNA Splicers!"

"That's the DNA Splicers?" Hugh asked. That small stake turned into a ball?

The ball floated up into the air, releasing an ominous purple aura. The ball rotated as it floated above Kyurem, before it became a rotating coil as malevolent energy began to seep into it.

"What's going on?!" Rosa could not help but ask.

The coil rotated faster and faster, before all the energy focused into it, transforming the coil into the familiar stake that Hugh recognized from Opelucid City. The stake briefly floated above Kyurem, before it slammed itself into the dragon's back. Kyurem let out a low growl, before his yellow eyes and yellow crest began to glow. Kyurem stood up right, before its asymmetrical wings of ice shattered, revealing gray tendril-like appendages as Kyurem returned to his original posture.

"Oh that...doesn't look good..." Nate commented.

Kyurem let out a breath, as he aimed the appendages at Reshiram and Zekrom.

"What is he trying to do...?" Hilbert muttered. "Be careful, you guys."

Reshiram and Zekrom nodded, wary of what Kyurem was about to do. The ice dragon merely stared at the two dragons, before the tips of the appendages began to charge an ominous purple energy. Kyurem then proceeded to fire the energy off as several purple streaks towards Reshiram and Zekrom. The two dragons jumped back, avoiding the streaks, before taking evasive measures and taking flight.

"What the–!?" Nate blurted as Kyurem did not relent and fired off several more streaks at the two dragons.

Reshiram and Zekrom flew around the giant cave, avoiding the purple streaks at all costs. Reshiram breathed intense flames, erasing any streaks that got close to him, while Zekrom exuded his intense lightning to shoot down the streaks aimed for him. The two dragons maneuvered around and fired off their most powerful attacks to avoid getting hit by the streaks that Kyurem relentlessly fired at them, not wanting to find out what would happen should they get hit by them.

Kyurem, on the other hand, wanted nothing more than for Reshiram and Zekrom to get hit by his streaks. The two dragons; his two halves; they were right in front of him after so long. He had waited and planned for three millennia for this moment; for Kyurem to regain what had been stolen from him and finally become complete. He will not let this chance slip by, no matter what it takes to make sure of it.

Reshiram and Zekrom were doing a frustratingly good job at evading Kyurem's attacks. The ice dragon growled, observing how they were going about avoiding it while continuously pressuring them with his constant barrage of streaks.

"Whatever that is, it can't be good," Zekrom said. "We must avoid them at all costs!"

"Agreed," Reshiram nodded.

'We'll see about that.' Kyurem thought darkly.

Kyurem saw how Zekrom was avoiding his attacks, before smirking slightly. Kyurem focused the streaks to Zekrom, forcing the black dragon to take even more narrow evasion tactics to avoid the increased barrage directed at him. As Zekrom backed away to avoid yet another slew of streaks, Kyurem's eyes glowed, where a pillar of ice suddenly shot out from behind Zekrom.

"What?!" Zekrom gasped as he bumped into the ice pillar, before realizing that the streaks were about to hit him during that one distraction. "Oh no–!"

"ZEKROM!" Hilbert cried out.

"I won't let you!" Reshiram roared as he charged for where Zekrom was.

Right as the streaks were about to hit Zekrom, Reshiram got in front of him, shielding Zekrom from the streaks while taking them himself.

"RESHIRAM!" Zekrom cried out as he was forced to witness his brother take the blasts intended for himself.

The streaks proceeded to wrap around Reshiram, ensnaring the white dragon with no hopes of escape. Reshiram tried to break free as he plummeted to the ground, before the streaks of energy sapped away at his vitality, knocking him out cold. The energy covered Reshiram, as the white dragon quickly changed into that of a small white orb, near identical to the gray orb Ghetsis had just a few seconds ago.

"Wha–!?" Nate gasped, in shock at the sight of Reshiram being converted into a small, white orb. "The hell happened!?"

"R–Reshiram!" N cried out in shock.

"He...transformed back into the Light Stone...!?" Hilbert muttered.

"YOU BASTARD!" Zekrom roared as he charged for Kyurem.

"ZEKROM STOP!" Hilbert yelled out, stopping Zekrom from blindly charging in at Kyurem, who had his appendages aimed right for Zekrom's head.

"I'll get to you later," Kyurem hissed, before facing the Light Stone.

"Now Kyurem! Absorb Reshiram!" Ghetsis commanded. "USE ABSOFUSION!"

"Abso-what?" Rosa asked.

Kyurem let out a low hiss as he stared at the Light Stone. The appendages aimed at the stone, before they shot out four purple beams at, covering the stone in the purple energy. The beams lifted the stone up, where it began to slowly shrink in size as the Light Stone was being absorbed into Kyurem's body until it was reduced to nothing, having been absorbed completely. An intense burning energy began to form from within Kyurem's tail, before it burst out in a roaring inferno that covered Kyurem.

"ROOOOAAAAAAAAAUAUGGGHGH!" Kyurem howled as the fire energy grew rapidly, before covering Kyurem completely. The bright fires blinded everyone in the room, forcing them to cover their eyes from the intense light that flooded the cave. The light died down, to reveal Kyurem, who has changed drastically.

His legs are shorter, with the middle toe being encased in ice. The tail resembled that of Reshiram's tail but was attached to the body with three gray parts of skin, with four horizontal holes; two on each side of the tail. His torso was slimmer. His shoulders are covered in what appeared to be squares of ice with two pins protruding from each square. The arms are longer and thinner than before, with two rings and three claws each. Wings stretched out between the rings on its forearms; the left arm and wing was rather reminiscent of Reshiram's wings, but the right arm and wing are frozen. Kyurem's body had Reshiram's white fur all over in several parts, most notably on his long neck and reformed face. The ice that covered his lower jaw had disappeared. The crest on Kyurem's head elongated, while a long streak of white fur extended from Kyurem's left side of the head, while the right side was frozen. His eyes were no longer a blank yellow; it had white sclera and a black pupil.

Kyurem closed his eyes, concentrating, before they shot open as the pins on Kyurem's squares of ice shot out and plugged into the holes on Kyurem's tail. A raging fire exerted from Kyurem, as the ends of his hair and wings became fiery, and his tail generated a red energy that flowed through Kyurem.

"ROOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGH!" Kyurem roared, his voice now sounding akin to Reshiram's voice.

Everyone found themselves dumbfounded as they stared at the new Kyurem, while Ghetsis looked like that of a giddy child who got what they wanted for Christmas.

"Th-they fused..." Hugh said. "Kyurem and Reshiram...they fused..."

"I never would've believed that Pokémon could fuse together..." N commented, staring at the new Kyurem in both awe and horror. "That there was a formula like this..."

"Kyurem has obtained the power of Reshiram, just as intended!" Ghetsis boasted. "As such, you may call this form Kyurem White!"

Kyurem stood tall; towering over the humans in the room, while staring intently at Zekrom, who glared at the conglomerated dragon murderously.

"While this form alone would suffice to make all of Unova kneel before me," Ghetsis said. "Why stop there? With the other half that is Zekrom right before it, Kyurem can become complete, and revert back to the original dragon of Unova's myths!"

"Like we'll let that happen!" Hilda growled as they all reached for their pokéballs to send out their Pokémon.

Ghetsis sneered, seemingly having seen this one coming, and slammed his cane onto the ground. Both Nate and N felt a splitting pain invade their heads, as they clutched their heads in agony.

"AGH!" N yelled out. "What in the world!?"

Everyone tried to activate their pokéballs, but the balls would not respond.

"Wha–GODDAMNIT!?" Hilda gasped.

"At the worst timing too!" Rosa yelled, recognizing what had happened.

"I'm not going to let any oversights get in my way!" Ghetsis roared. "My cane also has functions similar to that blasted machine Colress created! You fools won't interfere! I WON'T LET YOU! NOW GO KYUREM! ABSORB ZEKROM!"

"ROOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGH!"

A loud cry echoed through the cave, startling the legendaries guarding the cave outside. They all turned to the entrance of the cave in a shocked silence.

"-...That...didn't sound good,-" Terrakion said.

"-That's it, I'm going in,-" Cobalion said as he stood back up, faltering ever so slightly as he lifted himself up.

"-Cobalion, please!-" Virizion said. "-You must rest!-"

"-You heard that damn scream!-" Cobalion growled at Virizion. "-Something went wrong in there! That much is obvious! We must go help!-"

As the Cobalion stubbornly argued with Terrakion and Virizion, Landorus sighed, before glancing back to the cave. That scream was definitely not a good sign. He just wondered if the boy and the others were alright. As he stared into the cave, his eyes wandered around, before realizing something very crucial.

"-Thundurus.-"

"-Yeah?-" Thundurus asked.

"-...Where're the Shadow Triad?-" Landorus asked.

"-Those ninjas? They're right–,-" Thundurus was about to reply as he looked towards where he last saw them, only to pale when everyone realized that they disappeared. "-Where did they go?-"

"-...OH NO!-" Cobalion yelled as he immediately rushed into the cave, where the others frantically followed after him.

Kyurem obliged as he stepped forward, approaching Zekrom, who snarled and stepped back slightly, getting into a fighting stance. As Kyurem approached, an Aura Sphere was shot directly at his head. Kyurem did not seem to be affected by it and glanced down to see that it was Luca who had shot it defiantly at Kyurem. The rest of Nate's party had stood back up, standing rebelliously against Kyurem.

"You can't stop me from using my Pokémon if they're already out on the field!" Nate growled.

"Destroy the brat, Kyurem!" Ghetsis snarled.

Kyurem shot a brief glare at Ghetsis, before turning back to Nate and his party and letting out a roar that echoed throughout the cave. Nate had to keep himself from getting blown away by the sheer force of Kyurem's roar alone, before jumping into action.

"Aura Sphere! Focus Blast! Secret Sword!" Nate yelled out.

On command, Luca, Bo and Deo rushed towards Kyurem. Deo rushed ahead, brandishing his Secret Sword and leaping towards Kyurem, intending to slam the sword against the dragon's head. Luca and Bo charged Aura Sphere and Focus Blast respectively, before firing it off at Kyurem to support Deo. The two projectiles cleanly hit Kyurem as Deo brought his sword down upon Kyurem. To Deo's shock, Kyurem did not budge in spite of the Secret Sword having made direct contact.

"-What!?-" Deo gasped.

Kyurem whipped his head up, sending Deo back, before proceeding to shoot a beam of azure energy at the colt, shooting him down effortlessly. With a cry of pain, Deo fell from the air and collapsed onto the ground like a swatted fly. Kyurem then turned his attention to Luca and Bo, where Luca immediately deployed her staff and lunged for Kyurem.

"Iron Tai! Flare Blitz!" Nate frantically yelled out.

Bo growled as he charged at Kyurem as a giant ball of fire, while Luca whipped around and slammed her tail against Kyurem. That did not make Kyurem budge either, as he grabbed Luca by the tail and hurled her at Bo. Bo desperately stopped to avoid hitting Luca with the Flare Blitz and caught her as she was flung to him but left himself wide open for a pillar of earth to shoot out from underneath and hit him right in the jaw, hitting Luca in the process as well.

As Bo landed on the ground, Luca snarled as she got back on her feet, before flinging her staff at Kyurem like a harpoon. The staff nailed Kyurem's eye, causing the dragon to wince in pain as he tended to the eye wound. The dragon shook it off, before refocusing on Luca, who was now rushing towards him in a frontal charge. Kyurem stared at Luca for a moment, before immediately turning his head around, catching another Luca off guard while she was charging another Aura Sphere.

"-He found out!?-" Luca gasped.

"Damn it! Zoro, Night Daze!"

'Luca' clicked her tongue, before dispelling his disguise and reverting back to Zoro, seeing as how Kyurem immediately saw through it and proceeded to unleash his most powerful Night Daze at Kyurem, hoping to do at least something to the behemoth. The crimson aura overtook Kyurem, which seemed promising to Zoro, but the attack wore off and revealed that Kyurem was not fazed by it and was now staring directly down at Zoro.

"-Crap,-" Zoro muttered, taking a few involuntary steps back.

"-I won't let you!-" Luca yelled as she fired off another Aura Sphere, charged to the very limit of her strengths.

The Aura Sphere landed against Kyurem's back. To their surprise, the attack actually did something to Kyurem, as the dragon grunted in pain as he staggered from the blow. However, this in itself presented a new problem that Nate realized.

"...It took Luca's max charge Aura Sphere to finally do any damage," Nate paled. His team was already worn out from fighting Ghetsis as it was. The fact that it took all of Luca's strength just to do any actual damage to Kyurem made Nate realize that at their current standings, they had little chance of defeating Kyurem, much less hurt him.

Fortunately for him, there was someone who could hope to match up to Kyurem's power.

"Dragon Claw!"

Zekrom charged forward and struck Kyurem with claws engulfed in azure flames. Kyurem gritted his teeth as he stepped back. Zekrom hovered above the ground, ready to take out Kyurem for what he did to Reshiram. Hilbert and the others rushed over to Nate, supporting the boy as he gritted his teeth at the futility all his attacks up to Luca's second Aura Sphere revealed.

"You alright?" Hilbert asked Nate.

"Looks like I have my own limits," Nate muttered. "It was a tall order expecting to be able to beat Kyurem right after having to deal with Ghetsis."

"If only we could help..." Hilda grumbled, frustrated that she and the others could not send out their Pokémon to assist them.

"AHAHAHAHA! THAT'S RIGHT!" Ghetsis's infuriating voice boomed throughout the room. "YOU HAVE NO HOPE OF DEFEATING KYUREM! YOU'RE ONLY DELAYING THE INEVITABLE!"

Kyurem's annoyed scowl directed at Ghetsis went unnoticed by the madman as the dragon faced Zekrom. Kyurem shot a Dragon Pulse at Zekrom, who swatted it away with a Dragon Claw, before charging forward. Kyurem growled, before unleashing Reshiram's Fusion Flare at Zekrom.

"Fusion Bolt!" Hilbert quickly commanded.

Zekrom roared as he covered himself in a ball of lightning as he rammed into the Fusion Flare. The flare was absorbed into the lightning, before Zekrom crashed into Kyurem with the combined force of Fusion Bolt and Kyurem's own Fusion Flare. Kyurem found himself being pushed back by the attack, taking it to the best of his abilities.

"Now, Dragon Claw!"

Zekrom growled at Kyurem before repeatedly slashing at him mercilessly with Dragon Claws, refusing to let Kyurem make another move. Kyurem, for his part, took the attack as well as he could, before retaliating by shooting a Dragon Pulse straight into Zekrom's face. The blast pushed Zekrom back and allowed Kyurem to get back up. He then glanced down to see Vire lunging at him with an Ice Punch. Vire slammed his fist into Kyurem's face, but the attack did nothing but irritate Kyurem. Vire jumped back and spewed a Flamethrower at the dragon, but Kyurem powered through and grabbed Vire with his right arm, before gripping tightly, crushing Vire's torso as he was frozen solid. Vire screamed in pain, but quickly went silent as he was frozen solid. Kyurem scoffed, before tossing the frozen Vire to the ground.

"Vire!" Nate cried out as he crashed onto the ground; the boy running over to Vire to heal the Pokémon from his frozen state.

Brav growled as he glared at Kyurem, who returned the glare. "-Even if we never agreed to anything, you were still a proud being,-" Brav scowled. "-And yet you fall to the ambitions of that monster in human skin!? You would do his bidding if it meant to obtain this asinine dream of yours!?-"

Kyurem's eye twitched slightly, before the dragon let out a howl that sounded like a slightly distorted version of Reshiram's howl, before focusing his attention on the bird.

"Superpower!" Nate yelled out.

Kyurem shot another Dragon Pulse at Brav, who avoided it and took to the skies, before slamming his talon on top of Kyurem's head as a dive bomb. To everyone's shock, Kyurem actually felt the Superpower, and staggered slightly. As Kyurem stepped back, he felt himself falter. He glanced down to see that a valley of blades of grass had ensnared his feet. He looked around, before finding the culprit in Bo, who had withstood the Earth power and unleashed a Grass Knot large enough to ensnare even Kyurem.

"-NOW'S YOUR CHANCE, BOSS!-" Bo cried out.

Nate nodded as he finished defrosting Vire and reviving Deo. Zekrom recognized the opportunity and joined in on whatever it was Nate was about to do.

"THROW EVERYTHING AT HIM NOW!" Nate yelled out.

"BOLT STRIKE!" Hilbert ordered, syncing up with Nate.

As Bo kept his grip on the Grass Knot to make sure Kyurem wouldn't escape, the Pokémon let out a simultaneous roar as they all focused their strongest attacks at Kyurem. Vire unleashed his strongest Discharge, Brav charged forward with another Superpower, Zoro channeled all his energy into one Night Daze, and Luca unleashed the strongest Aura Sphere she could muster at Kyurem. And Zekrom growled as he surrounded himself in a vehement amount of electricity, before charging at Kyurem with all his might.

All the attacks collided into Kyurem, unleashing a huge explosion that engulfed the entire room. Everyone had to take cover from the sheer force of the collision. All the Pokémon backed off from where Kyurem was. The smoke eventually died down to reveal Kyurem, still standing in the same spot he stood when he took all the attacks. Everyone waited in anticipation of the results as Kyurem did not make a move.

"Did...did that do it?" Rosa asked cautiously.

As if in response, Kyurem's eyes suddenly shot open, now glowing in an ominous yellow luster.

"You just had to ask that, didn't you," Hugh groaned.

The tail began to exude an intense red, as Kyurem's body began to glow orange. A circular reddish-purple aura began to form around Kyurem as a frigid wind began to cover Kyurem's body.

"What's he doing!?" N yelled.

"STOP HIM!" Nate yelled.

The Pokémon all attacked Kyurem at once yet again, trying to stop him from unleashing whatever it was that he was preparing. The continued onslaught did nothing to stop Kyurem from charging energy. Eventually, Kyurem finished his preparations and scowled at the Pokémon beneath him.

"ICE BURN!"

Kyurem let out a roar as he released the energy he was charging. A frigid wind exploded from Kyurem's body, which was accompanied with multiple reddish-purple beams of energy. The frigid wind engulfed everyone in the room, while the beams of energy shot down every Pokémon Kyurem considered hostile. The attack was about to claim Nate and the others as its victim, but Zekrom got in front of them and shielded them from the icy maelstrom.

"GAAAAAAH!" Zekrom cried out in pain as the cold, yet hot beams of energy scorched and froze the dragon in a cruel vortex of pain.

"ZEKROM!" Hilbert screamed in horror.

The black dragon fell to his knees, having withstood as much as he could have. Zekrom panted heavily as he felt the frostbite cover his skin. Kyurem let out a low hiss as he loomed over the fallen black dragon. Zekrom snarled defiantly as he exerted all his strength to get back up, grimacing at Kyurem.

"This isn't good..." Nate muttered as he glanced back to his team. That Ice Burn attack wiped out his team. No one left was conscious enough to fight. "Damn it...!"

"DO YOU NOT SEE THIS POWER!?" Ghetsis cackled as he stepped forward. "NONE OF YOU CAN STOP IT!"

Everyone could only send hateful glares at the laughing mad Ghetsis, as the man turned to N.

"You know, you fool...Last time, I was going to use you to capture people's hearts and minds to rule them," Ghetsis said. "But this time, I'm simply going to use overwhelming power and rule with an iron fist! Do you understand? If you had simply listened to what I said and become king, Unova would have remained beautiful! But now, it's going to devolve into a living hell, and every feeble being in Unova has you to thank for that."

"You would still rule Unova!" N growled.

"Well that's the point!" Ghetsis retorted matter-of-factly. "Why would I go through all this effort if I didn't want to rule Unova!?"

"You're insane...!" Rosa hissed at Ghetsis.

"Call me whatever you want!" Ghetsis yelled back. "But I will be the one who wins in the end! Now Kyurem! Absorb Zekrom and regain your true power!"

Kyurem did not acknowledge Ghetsis, but stepped forward regardless, all too eager to consume Zekrom and regain his power. Zekrom snarled at Kyurem but was in too much pain to get back up properly, instead positioned himself to be in front of the humans so that he could protect them should Kyurem decide to go after them on a whim.

As Kyurem approached Zekrom however, several jagged rocks shot out from the entrance of the cave and directly at Kyurem. The conglomerated dragon shielded himself with his right arm, before howling at the new intruders. From the entrance, Cobalion, Terrakion and Virizion galloped into the room, while Landorus and Thundurus flew in after them.

"You guys!" Nate gasped.

"-Are you alright?-" Cobalion asked Nate and the others.

"-The hell is that!?-" Terrakion cried out, gawking at Kyurem.

"-It would be safe to assume that was the source of that ghastly cry we heard earlier,-" Virizion commented.

"The Swords of Justice and Forces of Nature?" Ghetsis asked, before scowling. "AAAAAAAGGH! Why must you keep interfering!? WHY MUST THERE ALWAYS HAVE TO BE SOMETHING GETTING IN MY WAY!?"

"Wait..." Nate muttered, realizing something as he glanced to Cobalion. "What happened to the Shadow Triad?"

"-That's the problem!-" Thundurus exclaimed. "-They disappeared without anyone noticing! It was definitely when those two giant ass dragons charged into the cave!-"

"...They WHAT!?" Nate yelled, a strong sense of dread invading him, Hilbert and N.

Hilda suddenly sensed something, before whipping around with a kick, only to have it caught by Ein, who suddenly appeared in front of her.

"At least you haven't been slacking," Ein commented to Hilda. "That's good."

The other two Shadow Triads appeared out of nowhere and grabbed Hugh and Rosa from behind in a chokehold.

"SHIT!" Hilda swore as she tried to free her leg from Ein's hold, before the man swiped her other leg, making her fall to the ground.

"SON OF A–!" Nate yelled as he was about to lunge at one of the Shadow Triad, before they both pulled out knives and brought them to Rosa and Hugh's necks, making Nate stop in his tracks.

"No one move," Ein ordered. "Otherwise..."

The other two inched their knives closer to Rosa and Hugh's necks, the steel barely touching the skin. Rosa and Hugh were frozen in fear of the lethal weapon being dangerously close to slitting their throats.

"How the hell did you live that?" Nate growled, referring to the wound Deo inflicted on them earlier. He then noticed that they did not magically heal themselves from the wounds; they were still leaking blood from the chest wounds. They were pushing themselves to the brink to get in their way.

"It doesn't matter how..." Ein muttered, slightly panting. "All is for our Lord Ghetsis."

"EXCELLENT WORK!" Ghetsis cheered for the Shadow Triad. "I knew I could count on you three!"

Nate gritted his teeth; they showed up at the absolute worst timing and made the situation even less salvageable than it already was.

"Now then," Ghetsis smirked. "You let Kyurem absorb Zekrom...or you try to stop us, and the two brats die."

"-Damn it!-" Cobalion swore. Even under the brainwashed state he was in for two years, he was well aware of what the Shadow Triad were capable of. He knew something terrible would happen the moment they slipped from their grasps. And now two innocent children were taken hostage because of their carelessness!

The slightest bit of movement could lead to the Shadow Triad slitting their throats out of suspicion or alarm. But they knew better. They knew that by simply keeping the two kids in their situation that the others would eventually submit.

Hilbert gritted his teeth as his blade came out from his right arm while Nate followed suit and brandished his knife, alarming the Shadow Triad and making them take a step back.

"No," Zekrom said to Hilbert and Nate. "It's alright."

"Wha–Zekrom?" Hilbert asked.

"Do as you please," Zekrom said to Kyurem.

"What're you–!? Are you out of your mind!?" Nate yelled.

"Do you wish for your friends to die?" Zekrom shot back at Nate, making the boy falter. "You are out of Pokémon to use, and one misstep will lead to their deaths."

"But..." Nate muttered in vain.

"...You're a good kid," Zekrom commented. "That is why I leave the rest...and the fate of Unova in your hands."

"Yes...that's right..." Ghetsis said.

Hilbert and Nate shot deathly glares at Ghetsis as Kyurem approached Zekrom, who showed no signs of resistance.

"Mark my words," Zekrom growled at Kyurem. "You will not prevail."

"I hope you liked your last words," Kyurem said as the appendages unplugged themselves from his tail and aimed at Zekrom like tentacles.

The appendages began to charge the same purple energy that had caught Reshiram. Kyurem then shot the energy at Zekrom, allowing it to ensnare the black dragon and sap away at his energy. Zekrom showed no signs of resisting, allowing the energy to drain away at his vitality. It kept going until Zekrom was reduced into that of a small black orb.

"The Dark Stone...!" N gasped.

"NOW KYUREM! USE THE FINAL ABSOFUSION!" Ghetsis boomed. "REGAIN YOUR TRUE POWER!"

Kyurem let out an excited roar as he eyed the Dark Stone. The appendages aimed at the stone, before they shot out four purple beams at, covering the stone in the purple energy. Just like with the Light Stone, the Dark Stone began to slowly shrink in size; gradually being absorbed into Kyurem's body until it was reduced to nothing, having been absorbed completely. A slow, steady heartbeat rang throughout the cave, as Kyurem's body began to twitch. A low hiss came out of Kyurem, as blue electricity crackled around Kyurem's body, before bright fire surged around Kyurem. The electricity and fire danced over Kyurem's body, seemingly fighting against each other. Kyurem kept growling incoherently, the tones of Reshiram and Zekrom constantly swapping between each other as an aura fire and electricity began to form around the dragon.

"ROOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGH!"

Letting out a distorted roar, the aura covered Kyurem completely, before exploding out in one big burst.

Everyone ducked, clinging onto the ground as best as they could with the force of the energy threatening to sweep them away. The energy eventually dissipated, leaving the ground scorched with fire and electricity running across the walls. Everyone all looked up to see what had happened as the room cleared up.

Everyone asides from Ghetsis stared at what was in front of them in awe and horror.

Standing upright was Kyurem, but as a completely new being, having completely lost all aspects of ice from his body, while the body itself was primarily gray. Kyurem's legs were much more developed, resembling what his legs used to look like at his base form, but much longer and stouter. His torso was broader with black muscles making up the upper region, while being covered with white fur. The shoulder squares of ice had fused into the body and became his new shoulders, giving off a rather bulky pauldron-like look. His arms resembled Zekrom's black arms, but were more muscular and lacked Zekrom's wings. From his back, large white wings covered in fur that connected from the fur that covered his chest spread out, resembling Reshiram's wings. His neck had white fur surrounding the base, resembling a sort of collar, while being laced with black skin.

Kyurem's tail resembled a combination of his old tail, Reshiram's and Zekrom's tail; three layers of gray skin extended out, covering the base of the turbine-like tail like it had as Kyurem White, but the turbine itself was fluffy like Reshiram's, before it extended out to resemble a tail more akin to Zekrom's. The A gray ring of skin wrapped around where the three layers were, with two holes on each side. Having completely rid himself of ice, Kyurem's jaw was no longer frozen. The yellow crest of Kyurem's head had grown out, looking sharper than before. Two streaks of hair that resembled Reshiram's hair flowed out from each side of the crest, while a long horn that resembled Zekrom's own horn stuck out from the back.

Kyurem opened his eyes, which surprisingly took no changes, before glancing down to examine himself. He lifted his arms up, gripping his claws into balls of fists before releasing them. Letting out a breath, he examined the rest of his body, testing out his new wings by receding them, before spreading them out. Kyurem's eyes narrowed as he concentrated, before shooting back up. Two sets of two pins attached to his back shot out, revealing four appendages which plugged into the four holes on his tail. The tail began to glow purple, transferring purple energy through the appendages into Kyurem's body. Several parts of his body began to glow purple, where his wings and arms began to exert a purple-colored plasma energy. The tips of his hair and horn glowed the same color, as the sickeningly bright purple plasma exploded from Kyurem's body, scorching the ground and electrifying it at the same time.

"ROOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGH!" Kyurem roared triumphantly, his voice now sounding like something in between Reshiram's tenor and Zekrom's baritone, while still being distinctly and undeniably Kyurem's tone.

"Kyurem...he...he fused..." N gaped at the sight of the new Kyurem. "He fused with Reshiram...and Zekrom..."

"He–He actually did it," Nate could only say. He was aware that this was what Kyurem had wanted. This was what Kyurem was aiming for; this was what Nate was supposed to help him achieve, and now it became a reality before their very eyes.

"HAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!" Ghetsis practically shrieked in laughter. "I DID IT! AFTER SO LONG PLANNING, I DID IT! KYUREM HAS RETURNED TO ITS ORIGINAL FORM! I HAVE RESTORED THE ORIGINAL DRAGON! IT'S MINE! ALL MINE! AAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

"Congratulations, Lord Ghetsis!" Ein commended the madman, unfazed by the man's demented cackling while breaking into an applause. The other two did the same, letting go of Rosa and Hugh and letting them run back to their group. They did not care; after all, their Lord Ghetsis has obtained what he wanted.

"That's...Kyurem...?" Hugh gaped. "That's...the original dragon?"

"It's like some kind of demonic hybrid between Reshiram and Zekrom..." Hilda muttered.

"And...We caused this..." Rosa mumbled, looking down to the ground dejectedly. "If we hadn't gotten caught by the Shadow Triad..."

"Don't think that," Hilbert said sternly to Hugh and Rosa. "None of this is your faults. You two have nothing to blame."

"Feast your eyes upon Kyurem! The original guardian dragon of Unova! Restored to its original glory!" Ghetsis boasted, whipping his arm at Kyurem. "At long last! After having my plans ruined by utter fools and mongrels! I have obtained a power without peer! With Kyurem...This Absolute Kyurem...! Nothing shall stand in my way! I don't need Team Plasma! So long as I have Kyurem, I need NOTHING! I will destroy Unova and recreate it anew! A new Unova under my rule! The people and Pokémon will quake in fear and bow to ME! THEIR FUTURE KING!"

Shaking out of their stupor, the Swords of Justice and Forces of Nature got into a fighting stance, glaring at the new threat to Unova in the form of Kyurem.

"Oh how cute," Ghetsis sneered. "You think you stand an iota of a chance against the new Kyurem."

"-Oi oi oi, we got our work cut out for us this time,-" Terrakion said, a hint of uncertainty in his voice.

"-The Original Dragon...-" Virizion gaped. "-Can we even stand a chance...?-"

"-Don't falter, you two!-" Cobalion yelled, glaring at Kyurem without hesitation. "-This being will no doubt threaten all of Unova! If this is not our duty, then what is!?-"

"You guys..." Nate muttered. Even with the Swords of Justice and Forces of Nature, Nate had little faith that they could even match up to Kyurem, who had restored his true power.

"Come now! Fight! Struggle with all your strength!" Ghetsis goaded. "I want to see your faces at the moment you lose all hope! Battle to protect Unova! I've prepared the finest stage and it's wasted on pathetic mongrels like you! Fall to your demise at the power of Kyurem and watch, as your precious Unova becomes engulfed in the vortex that is my reign! NOW KYUREM! DESTROY THESE FOOLS WHO DARE STAND IN MY WAY–!"

Without any warning whatsoever, a sharp icicle suddenly shot out from behind Ghetsis and pierced through his chest. No one said a word, everyone being frozen in shock as they could only stare at Ghetsis dumbly.

Ghetsis' expression remained frozen, as he slowly glanced down to see the icicle having protruded through his chest, as a geyser of blood shot out from it.

"What...?" Ghetsis asked, all his energy and bravado from seconds ago having completely dwindled into shock and confusion. "What...is this...?"

"Hm, I can still control ice."

All eyes were now on Kyurem, who was glancing down at the lime-haired psychopath.

"What...is the meaning of this...?" Ghetsis asked between coughs of blood.

As if to answer him, several more sharp icicles shot out, piercing Ghetsis all over his body. The man screamed in pain as he was lifted up by the continuous icicles puncturing his body.

"LORD GHETSIS!" the Shadow Triad cried out in horror.

"You served your purpose, human," Kyurem said to Ghetsis. "You're now expendable, as far as I'm concerned."

"B-But...!" Ghetsis wheezed. "We...captured you...in the Plasma Ball...your mind...should have been under our control...You should be...listening to my commands...!"

"You poor, arrogant fool," Kyurem hissed chillingly, lowering his head down to Ghetsis' level so that he could look straight into Ghetsis' horrified eye. "Did you really think the tools of man could ever control me? Did you really think you were ever in control?"

"You...pretended...?" Ghesis gagged, his face paling. "You...lied to us...? You manipulated us...?"

"Hello pot, meet kettle," Kyurem replied mockingly. "And now...die."

"No...! No...! Nooooo...!" Ghetsis wheezed and whined, tears starting to form under his eye. "I was...so close...! My plan...my...dreams...they were about to become a reality...! It was in my grasp...!"

"That doesn't sound like my problem, really," Kyurem said as he raised his arm. "Like I'd ever let someone as arrogant and foolish like you control me, much less control Unova.

"Goodbye, Ghetsis. Leader of Team Plasma. Don't worry. Your martyrdom allowed me to achieve my plans. I'll shall make sure your death isn't in vain."

"WAIT–!"

Before Ghetsis could beg for his life, Kyurem swung his arm out, swatting the man like a fly, ripping him from the icicles that impaled him and straight into the walls of the cave. The man slammed into the wall, splattering across it like a mosquito, his flesh and bones exploding upon contact with the stone. Watching the remains of Ghetsis slowly slide off the wall, Kyurem eyed the cane that he had dropped, before proceeding to crush it with his foot.

"Holy...shit..." Nate mumbled. "He...He just killed him..."

"LORD GHETSIS!" the Shadow Triad screamed, before murderously glaring at Kyurem and lunging for him. "YOU BASTARD!"

"Oh right, his ever-loyal dogs," Kyurem grumbled, glancing down to the Shadow Triad as he lifted his arm.

Parts of his body glowed purple, which was a sign that he was exerting his power. Within a span of seconds, countless balls of red fire and blue electricity formed around the dragon. Everyone recognized the ball of fire and ball of lightning as Fusion Flare and Fusion Bolt respectively; Reshiram and Zekrom's respective signature moves. Kyurem then lowered his arm, where the Fusion Flares and Fusion Bolts proceeded to careen towards the Shadow Triad.

The Shadow Triad's eyes widened at the sight of the slew of energy balls. With no time to dodge, they could only stare agape as the fire and electricity continuously and mercilessly slam into them, exploding as each ball struck them down. The smoke eventually cleared, revealing nothing. The attacks had completely vaporized the Shadow Triad, leaving no trace behind.

"Sorry about that," Kyurem said to the remaining group, although mostly directed to Nate. "They were aggravating to work with from the very beginning."

"Wait...Kyurem...?" Nate asked hesitantly. "You were...not under his control?"

"Of course not," Kyurem scoffed at Nate. "Frankly I'm disappointed that you would assume they could even control me."

No one knew how to respond. Standing before them was the original dragon; the one who saved Unova three thousand years ago. The dragon was acting rather cheerful, but that was most likely due to having achieved his long-lasting dream of returning to his original form. He had brutally murdered Ghetsis and the Shadow Triad and, while they deserved some form of retribution, most of them did not really wish for them to have been killed off. The fact that Kyurem was seemingly acting jovially after having massacred rather unceremoniously was off-putting to them.

"Now that the pests have been dealt with," Kyurem said, facing Nate. "You can't believe how relieved I am to see that you're alive, Nate. I should've known that you wouldn't die so easily."

"Uh...thanks..." Nate mumbled uncomfortably. In truth, he might have died if it were not for that mysterious intervention or he had not been treated faster.

"While I believed that you were killed off based on the evidence that they showed me," Kyurem recalled. "I saw your knife at the ship and realized what had happened."

"My knife...?" Nate asked, before rummaging through his belongings, only finding the singular knife. He must have dropped it back in the frigate without realizing it. "Back at the generator room..."

"I apologize for having to rough you up a bit there," Kyurem apologized. "I had to play along until I was able to absorb Reshiram and Zekrom, before offing those fools."

"I...see..." Nate muttered.

"Now then," Kyurem said. "Since I finally regained my true form, shall we get going?"

"Going? Going where?" Nate asked, confused.

"Oh come now, you couldn't have possibly forgotten," Kyurem chuckled. "To go destroy Unova and the humans."

'Fuck he thinks I'm still evil,' Nate thought as he could feel Cobalion's glare boring into the back of his head. Well that was to be expected. The last time he had spoken to Kyurem was months ago. His change of heart was rather recent, so of course Kyurem would not be aware of that.

"-Excuse me?-" Cobalion growled.

"In his defense, that was before he got therapy!" Rosa intervened, reading the situation and pacifying Cobalion before the goat could do anything drastic. "He's not like that anymore! Promise! I mean he wouldn't be here facing him if he were still evil, right!? Ahaha...haha...uhh..."

"R-Right..." Nate muttered, glancing up to Kyurem. This would either go rather smoothly, or backfire horrendously, and Nate had a feeling it was going to end up the latter.

"...What's the matter?" Kyurem asked cautiously.

"...Look..." Nate said. "I know we made a pact to exact our revenge against humanity for what they did…and don't get me wrong, I'm really glad you got your original body back. And killed Ghetsis while you were at it, which is honestly a bonus. But...well here's the thing. I...don't want to kill humanity anymore."

Kyurem remained silent, his expression showing no signs of changing as he stayed neutral. Nate eyed Kyurem carefully, before going on.

"I mean yeah, I used to hate society and thought humans as a whole were bastards," Nate said. "But...I came to learn that...that isn't the case. I met people who made me rethink my ways and ask myself, if what I was trying to do really a good idea. And it's not really. I...I just wanted someone to rely on me, which is why I was aboard your scheme.

"But no. Not anymore. After everything, I can't let you destroy Unova. I won't let you slaughter the lives of countless innocent people and Pokémon. I won't let you rob them of a future because of a grudge."

Kyurem stared at Nate, his yellow eyes piercing straight into the boy's soul. Nate gulped, not sure of how the dragon would react to him suddenly turning his back on him. Everyone tensed in anticipation of Kyurem's reaction.

"...I see..." Kyurem said. "Hm, you've grown, Nate."

"Wha–You're not mad?" Nate asked.

"Of course not," Kyurem shot back. "I'm glad to see that you've managed to find your own path and stray away from resentment eating away at your very soul. I'm glad that you've matured and grown into a respectable human being. Perhaps one of the only humans I would ever come to respect."

"In that case–!" Nate exclaimed hopefully.

"However," Kyurem interrupted. "Unlike you, I spent too long in my own hatred. I cannot so easily forgive humanity like you can. They have stripped me of my identity and left me to rot! They ruined their own country by repeating the same mistakes! After I protected them in the first place!

"I have finally regained what I have lost! Unova will feel the pain and suffering of being ripped apart and destroyed from one's greed that I had to endure for thousands of years!"

"You don't have to!" Nate pleaded. "You already got your body back! We stopped Team Plasma! You don't have to do this! This is what Ghetsis would have wanted!"

"...I wish I could learn to forgive like you," Kyurem said. "But it is far too late for that. That fool only wished to rule Unova with total authority. I will simply remove the land from the face of the Earth!"

"What?!" everyone else gasped.

"Kyurem..." Nate mumbled, trying desperately to convince Kyurem otherwise.

"In honor of our alliance, I will only say this once," Kyurem said. "Do not get in my way. I will make sure that you aren't caught in the destruction of Unova. If you do, then not even you are safe from my wrath."

Nate stared at Kyurem, his face slightly conflicted, before he made up his mind. For the sake of his friends and family; the ones he had come to learn to care for. For the sake of countless innocent lives that he and Kyurem have no right to judge because of their own personal grudges.

"I refuse," Nate declared, glaring at Kyurem. With that one statement, Nate made it clear to Kyurem whose side the dragon's accomplice was ultimately on.

Kyurem stared back at Nate, before closing his eyes and sighing. "Very well. I will respect your decision and conviction. However...

"You are in my way of my vengeance, my hatred, my resentment, my rage. You will receive no mercy from me."

To be continued

AN: AAAAND that's about it for now!

The biggest worry I have about this chapter (and the rest of the story) is Kyurem. More specifically Kyurem-'Absolute', as I dubbed it.

One popular what-if within Pokemon is the idea of Kyurem at his full power. A kyurem who has absorbed both Reshiram and Zekrom to achieve its original and true power. There are several concepts of this hypothetical 'complete' Kyurem spawned over the years. This is just one of those proposed concepts of a completed Kyurem.

While I have seen several possible designs for a completed Kyurem, many of them involve the heavy use of the idea of yin-yang. And while this makes sense, given the theme behind the Tao trio is, well, the concept of yin-yang, I decided to go a different route. The design I described within the chapter is, in my opinion, more simplistic. Displaying distinguishable traits from both Reshiram and Zekrom, while not making it too radical or overblown with the yin-yang idea (a problem I've seen with many concept designs). I tried to make it as 'natural' as possible, while distinguishing the fact that Reshiram and Zekrom were both a part of Kyurem, and not making it over-the-top to the point that it looks ridiculous.

The purple, or plasma, was also something I haven't seen many others use. Which seemed kind of odd to me, since it fit so well with Kyurem. Plasma can be interpreted as the culmination of both fire and lightning, which just happens to the types of Reshiram and Zekrom. Plasma being the main source of power for Kyurem made sense to me given that he's culminating Reshiram and Zekrom into one, as he would be culminating Reshiram's fire with Zekrom's electricity. And also red + blue equals purple, which is a color that plasma is commonly depicted as. Although Kyurem is fully capable of utilizing fire and electricity separately, as demonstrated by being able to use Fusion Flare and Fusion Bolt, along with tapping into his former ice powers.

Hopefully you guys like this depiction of complete Kyurem, and it's not too boring or divisive. It might not be the coolest thing compared to other stellar designs, but I like it, and this is how I would view a complete Kyurem. Until Gamefreak gives us an actual complete Kyurem in the future (if that ever happens). The type change, stat changes, and ability change will be posted next chapter.
