Chapter 41
"Long time no see, Shishinki. Have you been well?"
A gust of green leaves appears in front of the youkai, carrying a feminine voice that he hasn't heard for a long time.
"Hmph! Kyuubi no Kitsune, so it's true that you have been freed into the living world."
Clicking his tongue, Shishinki knows too well who this uninvited guest is.
"That's really not a nice way to speak to an old friend."
Sora curls her lips in dissatisfied as she fully reveals herself before him.
"Friends? I don't recall having that kind of relationship with you."
Hearing such an exotic word coming out from her for the very first time, Shishinki almost bursts into laughter.
"Hmm? What's this puppet with you, your new boy toy?"
Ignoring his glare, her eyes land on the strange black eyes kid standing beside him.
"State your business."
As soon as she shows her interest in the doll, Shishinki orders it to fly off.
"As you might have already guessed that I'm not here just to have a friendly chit chat. Shishinki, I require some of your precious knowledge about this one tiny matter."
"Sesshomaru-sama… Couldn't this be a trap? They could be luring you out with Tenseiga's secret in order to kill you…or something."
After the group followed a strange looking child appeared out of nowhere promising the secret of Tenseiga to them. Jaken's starting to get suspicious.
"Then I'll just slice them apart."
While checking around the hill, Sesshomaru catches Sora's scent, which he doesn't expect to find so easily.
Is this perhaps her doing?
Suddenly the child before them disappears. Without warning, a purple energy sphere flies toward the group and Sesshomary instantly counters it with a Meidou Zangetsuha. He misses completely, however.
"Did you aim below me on purpose?"
Voice of a man can be heard before them.
"My my… Looks like someone is about to master this little special Meidou technique."
And Sora's voice as well.
They see her standing on top of the hill next to a completely strange man in black outfit. He has his face covered half by a mask. Light purple hair with eyes that have cat-like slits, elven ears and a pale skin.
"Jaken-sama, who is that fox woman? Sesshomaru seems to know her well."
Realizes something odd between the two, Kohaku whispers to Jaken.
"She's…uh… No…No one!"
Yet he mumbles uncomprehending words and ends up avoiding the topic completely.
"It's been a while, isn't it? Descendant of Inu no Taisho."
While Sesshomaru's still busy observing the man, Sora greets him in a mischievous tone and gains back his attention.
"Why are you here woman?! Was it you who send that creepy child to us earlier?!"
Immediately jumping into conclusion, Jaken accuses her.
"What you are talking about, ugly little one? I was just happened to pass by this area."
Sora darts her sharp ruby eyes away, smirking sneakily.
"Pass by?! Just who are you trying to trick, huh?! You're obviously plotting something against us!"
Can no longer stand her annoying attitude, Jaken releases his anger and pointing his his staff at her. It's not until Sesshomaru scolds him that he finally calms down.
"You two know each other?"
The mysterious man, who has not taking his eyes off Sesshomaru for once from the beginning, speaks up and breaks the tension between them.
"Just an old acquaintance who doesn't know when to give up."
Wiggling her long white tails, Sora answers with a sigh.
"Who are you and why do you know about Tenseiga?"
Getting curious, Sesshomaru asks the man.
"In the past, I fought against that sword."
While speaking of the past he turns to Sora and hits the end of his staff on the ground to make a *clank* sound. Warning her with a deadly tone.
"I certainly do not bother with this measly relationship of yours, however... Dare to stand against my way and you will suffer the same fate as him, understand?"
"Oh there is no need to worry about such a trivial thing."
Sora dashes away from the crowd to the other side of the hill. Sitting onto the ground in a tight leg cross position, she speaks out loud enough for them to hear.
"I will just stay right here like a good girl and watch the fight."
Back to their conversation, Shishinki smirks.
"Since you're so eager to know its secret, why don't you use it to fight me? Guess I, Shishinki, am being underestimated!"
Immediately he swings his staff and sends a purple circle toward to Sesshomaru. It misses and lands at the mountain behind, leaving a hole on it. Much to the Inu Daiyoukai's horror.
"Meidou Zangetsuha was my special move, but your father stole it away from me. As well as my face."
Looking down to the group from above, Shishinki explains. Then he takes off his mask and shows off the missing part of his head behind it.
And half of your brain too. With a not very amused face, Sora chuckles after listening to his story.
"Hmph! Are you expecting me to be interest in your whining about a move that was stolen, and a face completely destroyed?"
While Sesshomaru smirks at Shishinki in disregard.
"Sesshomaru!"
All of a sudden they hear someone shouting from behind.
Not that half-breed brat's noisy group again! Sora stands on her feet at the sight of those annoying main characters.
"Senpai is here too?!"
Kagome's also surprised to find her upperclassman so randomly.
Soon after Inuyasha's group arrives, Myoga begins to explain about the swords and the conflict between them grows even worse.
"Hey grandma! Don't you dare do anything suspicious to Sesshomaru-sama!"
Approaching Sora slowly from the side, Jaken holds up Nintoujou on defense stance. "I'm watching your every move from here!"
For a second they can see her tails twitched in an abnormal way.
Also within that second, Jaken knows he screwed up. And before he can even make a run for his life, Sora's already gotten to where he is.
"Who are you calling a grandma, huh? HUH?"
Immediately she picks him up from his seat. Hitting his head and stretching his cheeks with her monstrous strength. Despite Jaken's hopeless struggle and much to Rin and Kohaku shock.
"Oh no! Jaken-sama!"
Meanwhile back to the battlefield not so far away, Shishinki has noticed something off about their family issue and uses it as an advantage to taunt Sesshomaru. Of how both Tenseiga and Meidou tenchnique were nothing but abandoned objects to the point where his father hated him, and gave Tetsusaiga to a half-human little brother instead.
"Hmph! Lost the will to use Tenseiga huh?"
As expected, what Shishinki says has wounded the silver haired Daiyoukai's pride deeply when he launches to tear him apart with his deathly claws.
"Don't do it, Sesshomaru!"
Inuyasha tries to stop his stubborn half-brother from blindly charging at the demon as he sends multiple of Meidou circles to kill him. Despite having left sleeve damaged from the attack, Sesshomaru still manages to land a good hit on Shishinki's annoying face and sends him away flying.
"How amusing. I'll send you to hell as brothers in arms!"
Yet Shishinki recovers instantly and casts even more deadly Meidou circles toward them.
In the end Inuyasha has no choice but to jump in to help Sesshomaru with Kongosoha, though they're immediately gotten absorbed completely into Shishinki's Meidou.
After going through more talking and blaming each other, Sesshomaru eventually figures out the secret behinds their father swords and successfully creates a completely Meidou. Ending the long battle and the life of Shishinki.
When the crisis is over, Sesshomaru dashes to where Sora is standing as she throws Jaken at him. Though he doesn't catch Jaken with an open arm and let Ah-Un do the work instead.
"That was truly a great show, I really enjoyed it. Though I'd love to stay for a little chat, there is still other stuff I need to take care of."
Sora sends a wind kiss to him before vanishing into the nothingness. Leaving an annoyed and confused Sesshomaru behind.
"Rin, do you know who she is?"
While Inuyasha and Sesshomaru are busy with their conversation, Kohaku asks Rin. Hoping to gain some information about the mysterious woman.
"She is my onee-chan."
"Your onee-chan?! That Kyuubi no Kitsune?!"
Needless to say he's shocked by her answer and Rin lowers her head, her voice and face saddened.
"Well, she was…"
"Was? What do you mean by wa-"
"Hey, you two! Enough talking and get going!"
However their small chat soon get interrupted by Jaken, who totally does not do that on purpose...
Some days later.
*When both Inuyasha and Sesshomaru have been trapped within Byakuya's moon*
"My…My, if it isn't the great old Toutousai."
While Inuyasha's and Sesshomaru's group are watching the intense battle, a voice appears from behind Toutousai and he instantly turns around, his heart jumps the moment seeing her face.
"Y-You are!"
"Senpai?!"
Kagome and the others notice her as well.
"Why are you here?!"
Out of all, Jaken's the most unhappy about her making an appearance in this place.
"After this business is done, I shall pay your place a warmly visit. Be prepared, okay?"
Ignores the servant's outburst, Sora greets Toutousai with a bright grin. While the old man, together with his three-eyed cow burst into cold sweat and back away slowly.
It's that woman again.
Judging from everyone's hard look in their faces, Kohaku figures that this youkai is not just a Kyuubi Daiyoukai that he and his sister used to learn from their father before.
There must be some sort of connection between her and everyone here. Is she one of Naraku's underlings?
The day before.
Within a sealed underground area.
"Finally, I've found it."
Approaching to the tall red double doors covered with chains and seals, Sora reaches out her hand to those chains in order to break them. However, they reject her instantly by sparking a green electric energy to burn her.
"It seems like none of us is able to break it huh?"
Byakuya comments from behind and she spat.
"In order to unseal the door I require a pure spiritual energy. That means I need that girl. Kagome, is it?"
Her power won't be as strong as Kasenada but she should be able to weaken it, enough for her to break the chains.
"Oh just your luck, I've gotten a way to distract both of them Inu brothers for you to get close to the Miko,"
Therefore, Byakuya offers Naraku's plan but she immediately turns him down.
"Hmph! I don't need your baby help."
"But wouldn't it waste much more time to deal with both of them at once?"
He convinces her to cooperate. Since this is Inuyasha they are talking about not his brother, Sesshomaru. It's not going to be easy to snatch the girl away from him.
"Besides, I won't ask for anything in return."
After moment of considering, Sora agrees with a smirk.
"Sure. I can just kill you right at the spot if you're intending to do something suspicious."
"I'm going to borrow this little cutie here for a bit if you don't mind."
Sora dashes right to Kagome's side and gets a hold of her before the girl can react. Quickly, Sango throws the Hiraikotsu to stop her.
"Get away from Kagome! Hiraikotsu!"
Though Sora easily dodges it easily and jumps to Shippou. Grabbing him by his tail.
"Hmm, this one shall be useful as well."
Within seconds, Sora's already gotten what she needs.
"If I use Kazaana now, I may end up sucking both Kagome and Shippou too!"
And Miroku is still struggling with the thought of using Kazaana to save them.
"What do you want from us?!"
Struggling within her strong grip, Kagome questions Sora. Only to receive a mysterious smirk in return.
"You will know soon enough."
And just like that they vanish in the middle of the air without leaving any trace behind.
"Oh no! They teleported! Kagome-chan! Shippou!"
Sango and the others attempt to chase after them but failed. And Toutousai sighs in despair, getting worried for his own life since that Kyuubi is about to hunt him down. Just kike how she always does in the past.
"How in the world did you all even get involve with her?! That woman is not just someone you folks can deal with."
Just as the old man finishes his talk, a loud sound of something falls onto the ground that immediately attracts everyone's attention.
There they see Sesshomaru standing in the air and an unconscious Inuyasha lying on the ground. Quickly, they all rush to his side to wake him up.
"Inuyasha…! Inuyasha! Wake up!"
Inuyasha groans in pain then opens his eyes, finding his companions are surrounding him. Once he notices that Kagome isn't here with them, they inform him.
"Kagome and Shippou, they got captured by Kyuubi no Kitsune just now!"
Right after Sesshomaru hears the news. He dashes away before anyone can react and leaves his sword behind with the others.
"I'll take it to him."
Rin approaches to the sword and grabs it, then jumps on Ah-Un and together with Jaken, Kohaku. They fly after their lord while Inuyasha who's still badly injured, has to gets on Kirara's with the other group members to follow.
"We should be able to track the Kyuubi down this time since she's carrying Kagome's scent with her."
Therefore Inuyasha leads the others toward to Sora's location as Sango frowns, completely confused about the woman's intention.
"Still, what is she planning to do with Kagome-chan and Shippou?!"
Back to the sealed underground area
"What is this place?!"
Once being freed, she asks her.
"It's none of your concern."
Not bothering to answer, Sora shoves her to stand in front of the chained doors. "Now, do you miko's trick and break this thing."
"And why do you think I would do it for you?"
Kagome refuses and turns her back against the door. Suddenly she hears a boy's yelp. And from behind Sora appears Byakuya, with Shippou in his hand.
"It's simple. If you don't then this kid will die."
"Byakuya?!" Kagome gasps in shock at the sight of Naraku's reincarnation standing beside her. "Don't tell me you're working for Naraku?!"
"You really are annoying, you know that?"
Irritated that Kagome's buying time for her comrades, Sora snatches Shippou away from Byakuya. Gabbing him on the neck and threatening to break it if she doesn't do as told.
"Now hurry up, I don't have all day to play with you."
"K-Kagome-c-chan…D-Don't… do it!"
Shippou begs Kagome not to follow her order between his sobs. Only to have Sora's grip on his neck tightened, which frightened Kagome greatly.
"No wait, I will do it! Please don't hurt him!"
In the end Kagome has no choice but to aid them, following Sora's instruction she puts on her hands onto the chains to focus on her energy and they shine up a brightly green light. While being blinded by the strange light, Kagome feels tired as if all of her strength is being drained away.
After absorbing Kagome's spiritual energy, the chain's light slowly dies down and Sora steps in to break the chains apart, sucessfully freeing the doors.
"Cough...cough..."
Kagome falls onto her knees and gasps for air as Shippou runs to her side, concerned. "Kagome-chan! Are you okay?!"
"What are you going to do with them?"
Picking up the exhausted Kagome on his back and a crying Shippou in his hand, Byakuya asks.
"They're all yours. Kill her or bring her back to Naraku for all i care."
Not bother giving them half a glance, Sora steps inside to reclaim her weapon.
"Kagome!"
Just then footsteps are heard along with a loud shout coming from above. A moment later standing at the front doors are Inuyasha with his gang, and ofcourse Sesshomaru.
"So this is where you are hiding, Sora."
Stepping foward fearlessly, Sesshomaru's sharp eyes glances from Byakuya to her and he cracks his fingers.
"If only had you not decided to become such a sweet brother and gave the Meidou Zangetsuha away, you could have had something to use right now to fight against me"
Notices the missing Tenseiga on his hips, she chuckles darkly. "Fu fu... What a pity"
Meanwhile Sesshomaru's group...
"Jaken-sama, are you sure we're on the right track? I think i just saw Aneue going that way."
Is having a little bit lost.
"Shut up! I know where i am going!"
