A/N: I do not own the Percy Jackson series Kane Chronicles or The Stand Cut or Uncut version. I have however posted 'The Tales of...' series. This story takes place after The Tales of Magicians and Demigods: The Crown of Ptolemy but before the events of Trials of Apollo. Before reading this I suggest to read if you haven't yet:

The Tales of Magicians and Demigods: The Staff of Serapis
The Tales of Magicians and Demigods: The Crown of Ptolemy

Also I'm going to let this out. On rough decisions based on what I know from The Stand, any mystical creatures Monsters, and automatons that are usually associated which characters from The Tales of and/or Percy Jackson won't be in this story

Also there's no character list for the stand, but if I had too pick two from the book it be Stu Redman and Fran Goldsmith as a pairing, and if I was allowed to add a fifth character to show, it would be of course Mother Abigail.

For the list of pairings which would be spoiler alert for those showing up later:

Percy Jackson/Annabeth Chase
Leo Valdez/Calypso
Jason Grace/Piper McLean
Frank Zhang/Hazel Levesque
Stu Redman/Fran Goldsmith
Larry Underwood (no relations to Grover obviously)/Lucy Swan

Other Important Characters

Mother Abigail
Nick Andros
Tom Collins
Glen
Ralph
Trashcan Man
Susan Stern
a few more demigods as extra characters to help out.

Antagonist but still important
Randal Flagg
Harold Lauder
Nadine Cross
Lloyd

And of course the two main forces that are mention but more of Lead Supporting Roles without actually making a character appearance: God and Devil

Also if you see '-' after a letter and there's a space before the next word, that me censoring a curse word.

Now, since at this point the Heroes of Olympus were introduced and paired up with key characters of the "Stand" when Captain Trips hit (at least those that aren't among the antagonist), I decided to include chapters more focus on chapters with the main characters of the "Stand" without the demigods. The reason being is that I would have to anyways with Lloyd and Flagg since they an important antagonist character. So if those chapters are too much like the original, apologize in advance.

Lastly (for now), I am aware of the 2020-2021 version of the mini-series of the Stand and I did try to watch the first part, but frankly I couldn't even finish watching the first part and didn't dare to watch the rest of it nor do I planned to. I don't like it. I don't like many of the changes they made since the 90s adaptation. But there are a few changes in the 2020-2021 adaptations that actually involved info from the books the Stand. May I remind you this crossover involved the UNCUT VERSION of the books, so if you see parts that seem to come from 2020-2021 adaptation, it's because those parts/info actually came from the book itself

Deitz's Classified Audio Report

It was quarter of twelve. Outside the small pillbox window, dark pressed evenly against the glass. Deitz sat alone in the office cubicle, tie pulled down, collar button undone. His feet were up on the anonymous metal desk, and he was holding a microphone. On top of the desk, the reels of an old-fashioned Wollensak tape recorder turned and turned.

"This is Colonel Deitz," he said. "Located Atlanta facility code PB-2. This is Report 16, subject file Project Blue, subfile Princesses/Princes. This report, file, and subfile are Top Secret, classification 2-2-3, eyes only. If you are not classified to receive this material, f- off, Jack."

He stopped and let his eyes fall closed for a moment. The tape reels ran on smoothly, undergoing all the correct electrical and magnetic changes.

"Prince B and Princess A plan worked, but Prince A gave me one helluva scare tonight," he said at last. "I won't go into it; it'll be in Denninger's report. That guy will be more than willing to quote chapter and verse. Plus, of course, a transcription of my conversation with Prince A will be on the telecommunications disc which also contains the transcription of this tape, which is being made at 2345 hours. I was almost p- enough to hit him because he scared the living J- out of me. I am not p- anymore, however. The man put me into his and possibly Prince B's and Princess's A shoes, and for just a second there I knew exactly how it feels to shake in them. Prince A is a bright man once you get past the Gary Cooper exterior, and one independent son of a b-. If it suits him, he will find all sorts of novel monkey-wrenches to throw into the gears. He has no close family in Arnette or anyplace else, so we cannot put much of a hammerlock on him, but as I said before, Prince B's and Princess A's plan worked. Prince A is willing to cooperate and agree to the social experiment."

"Again, for the record, both Princes and Princess B still test virus-clean. Fortunately, we have a way to test Prince B without bloodwork as his skin still proven to be difficult to penetrate. But from the report Denninger got after mouth swab, it seems only the outer skin is invulnerable, but his insides are penetrable. It is kind of remind me of the old Greek Myth of the hero Achilles—who was also thought to be invulnerable except for a spot on his heel. Denninger reported the same thought, and even tried to poke Prince B in both Achilles Heels only to break two more needles. We really don't know what the cause of his invulnerability but if his insides are indeed vulnerable, in theory I doubt it be the reason why he's not catching."

He paused again, fighting the urge to doze off. He had managed only four hours of sleep in the last seventy-two.

"Records as of twenty-two hundred hours," he said formally, and picked a sheaf of reports off the desk. "Henry Carmichael died while I was talking with Prince. The cop, Joseph Robert Brentwood, died half an hour ago. This will not be in Dr. D's report, but he was all but s- green apples over that one. Brentwood showed a sudden positive response to the vaccine type… uh…" He shuffled the papers. "Here it is. 63-A-3. See subfile if you like. Brentwood's fever broke, the characteristic swellings in the glands of the neck went down, he reported hunger, and ate a poached egg and a slice of unbuttered toast. Spoke rationally, wanting to know where he was, and so on and so on and scooby-dooby-do. Then, around twenty-hundred hours, the fever came back with a bang. Delirious. He broke the restraints on his bed and went reeling around the room, yelling, coughing, blowing snot, the whole bit. Then he fell over and died. Kaboom. The opinion of the team is that the vaccine killed him. It made him better for a while, but he was getting sick again even before it killed him. So, it's back to the old drawing boards."

He paused.

"I saved the worst for last. We can declassify Princess B back to plain old Eva Hodges, female, age four, Caucasian. Which I guess means we can reclassify Princess A to just Princess. Eva's coach-and-four turned back into a pumpkin and a bunch of mice late this afternoon. To look at her, you think she was perfectly normal, not even a sniffle. She is downhearted, of course; she misses her mom. Other than that, she appears perfectly normal. She got it, though. Her post-lunch BP first showed a drop, then a rise, which is the only halfway decent diagnostic tool Denninger's got so far. Before supper Denninger showed me her sputum slides—as an incentive to diet, sputum slides are primo, believe me—and they are lousy with those wagon-wheel germs he says are not really germs at all, but incubators. I cannot understand how he can know where this thing is and what it looks like and still not be able to stop it. He gives me a lot of jargon, but I don't think he understands it, either."

Deitz lit a cigarette.

"So where are we tonight? We have got a disease that has got several well-defined stages… but some people may skip a stage. Some people may backtrack a stage. Some people may do both. Some people stay in one stage for a relatively long time and others zoomed through all four as if they were on a rocket sled. One of our four 'clean' subjects is no longer clean. The social experiment between our love bird subjects Prince B and Princess so far shows no transfer of virus. Both love-birds roughly seventeen, both confirmed diagnosed Attention Deficient Hyperactive Disorder and Dyslexic and yet smart for their age—Princess being the wisest of the two. Prince B has skin of steel that we cannot figure out why or how, but Denninger noted that he seems extra sensitive in touch under left armpit. Since bloodwork no longer needed for this test, he has not tried a needle there, but I think he does not want to waste any more medical equipment on Prince B since he is not showing signs of catching yet. There is one other abnormality the love birds share but I will get to that later. The final clean subject is a thirty-year-old redneck who seems to be just as healthy as the love birds. Denninger has done about thirty million tests on him as well and has succeeded in isolating only four abnormalities, one of which is the one I have on the Love Birds as well. Redman appears to have a great many moles on his body. He has a slight hypertensive condition, too slight to medicate right now. And he develops a mild tic under his left eye when he is under stress. And the shared abnormality he shares with the Love Birds, according to Denninger, is that all three dreams a great deal more than average—almost every night. They got that from the standard EEG series they ran before Prince A ran on strike. They also noted that Prince B tends to talk in his sleep and drool extensively, but other than that he is the same. And that is it. I can't make anything out of it, neither can Dr. Denninger, and neither can the people who check Dr. Demento's work."

"This scares me, Starkey. It scares me because nobody but a very smart doctor with all the facts is going to be able to diagnose anything but a common cold in the people who are out there carrying this. C-, nobody goes to the doctor anymore unless they have got pneumonia or a suspicious lump on the tit or a bad case of the dancing hives. Too hard to get one to look at you. So, they are going to stay home, drink fluids and get plenty of bedrest, and then they are going to die. Before they do, they are going to infect everyone who comes into the same room with them. All of us are still expecting both Princes and the Princess to come down with it tonight or tomorrow or the day after, at the latest. And so far, no one who has come down with it has gotten better. Those sons of b- out in California did this job a little too well for my taste."

"Dietz, Atlanta PB facility 2, this report ends."

He turns off the recorder and stared at it for a long time. Then he lit another cigarette.

A/N: And now you have a better understanding how Captain Trips works, which is that it comes in stages that tend to skip and either zoom by on patients that catch it or kill them slowly. More of the symptoms will be listed off later but next chapter is crucial because although Annabeth and Percy won't have a direct roll in it, I think it's important to post to show the start of the downfall of the CDC in the Stand.
