Moving Forward.
Morning had arrived. Akame slowly woke up before sitting up. She yawns but noticed she wasn't in her and Byleth's room. She tried to remember what happened last night. She remembered hitting the brink of her despair and was considering doing something really bad. But then Rhea had come up to her and talked to her. Akame remembered her words were enough to calm her down, and her hug felt like the love of a mother. She then remembered falling asleep as Rhea carried her away. Akame got wide eyes and looked to her side and saw Rhea sleeping next to her.
'Oh by the goddess I just stayed the night with the Arch Bishop!' Akame thought to herself. It was nice, she slept better than she's had for a while, but this isn't something just anyone gets the chance to do. She always wondered why Rhea gave her and Byleth special treatment.
Akame gasped, Byleth! She forgot that she never told her sister. She pretty much fell out of bed as she scrambled for her clothes. Byleth must've been worried about her! And she just went up and slept with Rhea! And not in the romantic way!
"Good morning to you too, Akame" An amused Rhea said as she sat up in bed "Going back to your sister?".
"Yes! She must've been worried sick about me! While I was sleeping peacefully with you, she must've spent the night looking for me" Akame said as she pulled on her clothes as quickly as she could.
"Calm down Akame. I am sure she is at least somewhat aware where you've been. It isn't really a secret that we like spending time together" Rhea said.
"True, but I'd rather make sure" Akame said "Oh and thank you... for everything".
"I meant every word I said, Akame. I will always be here if you need me" Rhea said with a smile.
"Thank you, mother" Akame said before she covered her mouth.
Rhea blinked at that "Do my ears deceive me? Or did you call me mother?".
"I-I'm sorry Lady Rhea! It just came out! I meant no disrespect" Akame said in slight panic, feeling like she had just insulted the Arch Bishop.
To her surprise Rhea smiled warmly before getting out of bed and hugged her "I do not mind at all. If you want me to be your mother, then I would gladly be your mother. But try to make sure to only call me that in privet. I would worry about poor Seteth if he heard it".
Akame blushed but smiled "Thank you... having you as a mother does sound nice".
"And having you as my child would be a joy. Now go back to your sister, we will speak again soon enough" Rhea said. Akame nods with a smile and leaves the room. Rhea put a hand to her heart "Mother... I will try to be worthy of that title".
Meanwhile, Byleth was also just waking up from a peaceful night. And like Akame, she had a hard time remembering what happened last night. She tried to sit up but someone was holding on to her. She looked and blushed. It was Esdeath... she was naked. In fact, both of them were naked! Memories of last night struck Byleth like a lightning bolt. She made love with Esdeath! And both had admitted their love to each other.
Byleth blushed but couldn't help but to smile "Esdeath, time to wake up".
Said ice warrior yawned as she pushed herself up a little and smiled at Byleth beneath her "Well, so last night wasn't a dream. We finally became lovers".
"Yes. We did" Byleth said.
Esdeath looked down a little and chuckled "I didn't get a proper look last night. But your body is really lovely when there is no clothes hiding it".
Byleth blushed "So is yours... you look like a warrior angel".
"Ha, so people keep telling me. But you are the only one who said that about my body, rather than my power" Esdeath said before pressing herself against Byleth "Still time left before classes start. Want some morning fun".
Byleth gulped but before they could do anything, Akame suddenly ran inside "Sis! Sorry I didn't come back last night, I was...".
Akame stopped talking when she noticed the sight in front of her. Her sister, and her teacher... both were naked. Their breast were pressing together so their nipples were hidden, and Esdeath's butt along with Byleth's vagina were barely hidden by the blanket. Other than that, Akame could see more than she wanted to.
She blushed bright red before turning around and covered her eyes "Goddess! Sis! If you are going to do stuff like that, at least put a warning sign on the door or something! Here I was thinking you were worried about me for not coming back! But you were sleeping with my professor!".
"Akame, wait we-" Byleth began but Akame held up a hand.
"Look, I am not going to interfere with your love life. But try giving some kind of warning next time! We can talk later, I gotta go!" Akame said as she ran out.
"Well, that was embarrassing" Esdeath said before getting out of bed "Sorry, she kind of killed the mood there".
"No it's ok. I just hope we didn't scar her for life" Byleth said.
"She'll get over it, someday" Esdeath said as she put her clothes back on "Still, you should get dressed soon. But I look forward to next time. And trust me, there will be a next time. When I get something I like, I never let go".
"I will remember that" Byleth said with a smile.
Esdeath smiled back and kissed her before leaving. Byleth sighed in delight, but then a certain voice from inside her head was heard "YOU FOOL! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW AWKWARD IT WAS BEING TRAPPED HERE WITH YOU TWO WHILE YOU DID THE DEED?! AND DID YOU HAVE TO MAKE SO MUCH NOICE!? I COULDN'T EVEN SLEEP THROUGH IT!".
Byleth grabbed her head in pain as Sothis kept screaming at her. Who needs a hangover when you got Sothis?
Akame stopped by a building trying desperately to get the image of her naked sister and professor out of her mind. She really didn't need to see that. This wasn't the best start of her day. She sighed as she managed to calm down and took a seat on the ground. She had no idea what to do anymore.
"Akame?" Came a familiar voice. One she hadn't heard in a while.
"Of, hello Edelgard" Akame said.
"I haven't see you for a long time now... still grieving?" Edelgard asked.
The memories of her father made Akame look down "Sorry, I just needed time...".
"Are you waiting for time to heal your wounds? Or have you curled up in a corner and lost the will to carry on?" Edelgard asked.
Akame stood up and looked a little angry now "What!? Why would you ask something like that!?".
"It's not like you to speak to me like that. You know I'd never ask you a question without purpose" Edelgard said "Only you can truly understand your own sadness. Others can sympathize or even empathize, but all anyone else can offer are the tears of an outsider looking in. So I have no intention of crying for you, or of standing still with you. All I can do is promise to reach out my hand when the time comes for me to move forward".
"Edelgard..." Akame whispered as she was calming down.
Edelgard smiled a little at that, happy to see Akame was starting to see reason "I don't know if you've heard this yet. But the mysterious organization that was carrying out experiments in Remire Village and the chapel... They're up to something near Garreg Mach. The archbishop has sent the knights to undertake a large-scale investigation. No information has surfaced yet, but our enemies will soon be discovered. When they are, will you follow us into battle? Or will you just sit here with no thought for the future that is fast approaching? Akame, as your classmate, but more importantly, as your friend I am telling you this. There is a choice to be made. I hope you make the right one".
"You said you would hold out your hand when it's time to move forward... does that mean I can trust you to walk next to me when that time comes?" Akame asked.
"I will, Akame. We are friends, and I care about you" Edelgard assured.
Akame smiled and hugged her "Thank you, Edelgard... I didn't know how much I needed that".
Edelgard smiled and hugged her back, something that was rare for her to do "If you ever loose your way again, I will be here to pull you back on the right path. But you should go and see the others. They've been worried sick about you. You stopped coming to class and they were so worried they couldn't even focus. Seeing that you are back would do wonders for them".
Akame felt some guilt, in her grief she had completely forgotten about her classmates, and now she knows how worried they've been "I will, thank you".
"Then let's go" Edelgard said as they walked to the Black Eagles class room.
The second she stepped in, Akame was swarmed by her classmates, minus Hubert who calmly walked over to them.
"Akame! We were so worried about you. When you stopped showing up to class, we feared the worst" Dorothea said while hugging Akame like she was a lost child.
"I wasn't that worried, I knew she only needed some time for herself" Caspar said.
Dorothea frowns "That isn't anywhere near the truth. He was so worried that he spent more time looking for you than he did training".
Akame looked at Caspar who blushed "Ok fine! I was worried about you and wanted to make sure you were ok. But you moved around so much so I couldn't find you anywhere".
"Sorry Caspar and thank you" Akame said with a small smiled before looking sad again "I am sorry, all of you. I didn't want to scare you that much".
"You have nothing to apologize for, Akame. You were going through a lot of pain, it's natural that you wanted some time for yourself" Ferdinand assured.
"All grieve in their own way, be it human or beast. We are in understanding for you" Petra said, and Akame actually liked hearing her accent now.
"And now that I finally know you will be ok, I can start sleeping again" Linhardt said with a yawn. Was he so worried he couldn't even sleep!?
Bernadetta couldn't stay quiet anymore and she quickly hugged Akame "But don't ever do that again! I was so scared!".
"Sorry, Bernie. I will not do it again" Akame said as she rubbed Bernie's back, she was shaking a little, she must've been so scared. Akame felt even more guilty now "I promise, I will never scare you again".
"O-ok. We all love you Akame, so don't do that to us" Bernadetta said.
"I won't, you have my word" Akame said, feeling like she was comforting her little sister.
"What matters is that you are back now, and the Black Eagles will be back to full strength. It would be a waste if something happened to you. We do need your strength after all" Hubert said.
Akame looked at him before she smiled and gently made Bernadetta let go of her before she gave Hubert a hug. Which shocked everyone, even Edelgard got wide eyes at that.
"Thank you Hubert. You are ok sometimes" Akame said with a smile.
Hubert blinked but chuckled as he petted her head "Don't get used to it".
Akame giggled and pulled away, knowing Hubert would be annoyed if the hug lasted to long "Thank you, everyone. I am back now, and I am not going anywhere this time. I will trust you all to be my family".
Everyone smiled that, more than happy to be Akame's family. Finally, the Black Eagles were back to what they were before, and Akame was happy to be back.
