Chapter 5: Taking a break
Why do I always get beat up?
I mean I tired to save them and prevent the timeline from going wrong, but nothing works.
Right now, I think I'm just gonna take a break.
Yeah...
...
...
...this is boring.
I sat and decided to walk around and clear my mind. I passed by servants as I walked through the temple with no destination in mind. A few servants bowed to me as I waked by, and a few offered any assistance but I turned them down.
I mostly spent my time watching the matches. I witnessed Scorpions chapter, but I chose not to interfere to avoid being burned to a crisp.
Things were actually going a little smoother now.
I spoke too soon.
"So what am I supposed to do again?" I asked Baraka and Sheeva as they led me through the island.
I mean, I knew what they were going to kill Cyrax, but I couldn't let them know I knew that.
"Your objective is to lure the Lin Kuei warrior Cyrax away from the tournament," Sheeva explained. "Then Baraka and I shall execute him."
"But isn't he supposed to kill Johnny Cage?"
"Shang Tsung is terminating their agreement," Sheeva answered.
"But before kill him," Baraka interjected. "We must know if he wins or not."
I had a feeling they would ask. Oh boy, how am I gonna explain this.
"Well, you see..."
"Why have you brought me here boy?" Cyrax asked as we stood on a walkway.
"Uh... You'll wanna ask them," I pointed at something behind him.
I moved away as he turned to see Sheeva and Baraka approach him.
He backed up. "What are you doing? I'm not here to fight you. I'm assigned to kill Johnny Cage."
"Shang Tsung no longer has need of you," Sheeva spoke as she cracked her knuckles while Baraka extended his blades.
"What do you mean?" Cyrax asked.
"He is terminating your agreement," Sheeva responded. "And you!"
I watched as Sheeva and Baraka engaged the Lin Kuei warrior, staying as far from them as possible.
I was amazed that even though both were fighting him at the same time, Cyrax held his ground. He jumped back to avoid several punches from Sheeva then ducked to avoid Baraka's blades.
He sent a kick to Baraka's torso, sending the Tarkatan back before turning to Sheeva. Unfortunately, the Shokan grabbed him by the legs and threw him into the air. When he was just a few feet from hitting the ground, Sheeva punched him, sending him flying several feet away. He landed roughly on the ground, rolling several times before coming to a stop.
He struggled to get to his feet as Sheeva and Baraka approached him. Suddenly, Cyrax threw one of his grenades at their feet, the explosion knocked Baraka to the ground while Sheeva just stumbled. Cyrax quickly ran to her and slammed her head with another grenade several times, sending her to the ground dazed.
"I need to have a talk with your master," he demanded as Baraka got to his feet.
Baraka used his blades to support himself as he got to his feet. "This fight is not over."
"You mean to challenge me?" Cyrax asked pointing to himself. "You couldn't even stop the actor!"
Baraka yelled in anger before charging towards Cyrax, swinging his blades. Cyrax avoided a swing and grabbed Baraka's arm. I flinched as Baraka stabbed him in the side with his other blade. He punched the Tarkatan in the faced before picking him up and slamming him down onto the ground.
"Now this fight is over," he announced, grunting in pain as he clutched his side.
...Well, time for me to leave.
I quickly made for an exit.
Later I witnessed the fight between Johnny and Cyrax.
Johnny seemed reluctant to fight because of Cyrax's injury, but the Lin Kuei warrior refused to let that stop the fight. Unfortunately, it ended up costing him. Near the end of the fight he had Johnny Cage on his knees, but before he could contemplate finished the actor off he lost consciousness due to the pain in his side.
Afterwards, I witnessed Sektor berate Cyrax for failing his objective and explain how the Cyber Initiative to replace weakness.
The two fought, but this time Cyrax was too weak to fight so he was easily taken down by Sektor. The cybernetics fanatic dragged the defeated Cyrax away, no doubt to the Lin Kuei based so they could be assimilated.
"We failed to kill him because of your advice of your advice," Shang Tsung spoke up from behind me, startling me. "But it seems he's now entered a worse fate."
He placed a hand on my shoulder. "Now come with me, I have something to show you."
I groaned.
"Can't I get a fucking break?"
Reptile joined us on the way to the flesh pits, the place still creeped me out.
"Here we are," Shang said as we approached one of the surgery tables.
"Please tell me it isn't another deformed version of-" I froze when I saw who was laying on the table.
It was Mileena.
The REAL Mileena.

Just to let everyone know, I'm in Hiveswap and I'm in Wolf Among us is are going on hiatus until this story is done.
Hiveswap and Green Vs. Yellow are being updated so yeah. Green Vs. Yellow is also going on hiatus as well.
