Gabriella walked around her father's secret apartment. She hugged herself, wrapped in Troy's hoodie. She was sad after rehearsal that she had to get her giant suitcase from the Bolton house and bring it here. She wanted to spend the night with Troy again. He offered and Jack said it was completely okay but her dad wanted her to come to his apartment.
It was closer to downtown. It was a two bedroom apartment with all of her father's favorite things inside. It reminded her so much of when she was little and he was still around and would spend time with her. It smelled like her best memories of him but on the other hand it made her stomach sink.
He had this place for years and this was the first time she'd ever been in it. There were no pictures of Gabriella or her sisters. There was nothing on the walls except weird modern art that she didn't understand. He never offered this place of solace to her or her sisters knowing that he had this to avoid the woman he married. The woman he left his daughters with.
She felt emotionally void. She had so many conflicting feelings that she just pushed them down and turned them off to protect herself, to protect her mind that was on the brink. She didn't want to touch anything, sit on anything, even breathe. He was fucking Mrs. Evans so god only knows what was around this apartment.
"Come to the guest room, Bunny. This is where you'll be." She followed him into the guest room and it was kind of plain and stale smelling. "I haven't really been in here so it's kind of… dusty."
"That's fine." She said honestly. She felt completely okay with him not spending time in there, especially if him and Mrs. Evans didn't spend time in there. "I'm going to throw the bedding in the wash and clean up a little bit."
"Do you need help?" He offered.
"No, I'll do it. Pretend like I'm not even here." She said, hoping he would leave her alone.
Her father just sighed as he watched her take the bedding off the bed. She dragged it over to the washing machine and threw it in. When she turned around, he was gone. She grabbed some cleaning supplies from under the sink in the bathroom and got to work. She wiped down mostly everything she could reach. She vacuumed the carpet and sprayed some bathroom air freshener to make it smell nice.
She switched the laundry and put all the cleaning supplies away. She found her phone in her purse and sat on the mattress. Camilla had called her. She frowned and called her back, closing the door to the spare room.
"Where the hell are you?" Camilla answered. "You left last night and you never came back? Why?!"
"I'm sorry Cami, but I can't be there right now. I can't be around mom."
"But where did you go?"
"Last night I went to Troy's and tonight I'm with Dad."
"You're with Dad?! Where?! Dad has a place?!"
"He has an apartment closer to downtown. I called him last night and he didn't answer of course but he answered today and told me to come stay with him for the night."
"That's such…. Fucking Bullshit Gabriella. You're at his apartment."
"I'm pretty pissed off too, Cami. I am. I don't want to be here but I don't have anywhere to go. I want to freaking fly to New York."
"You should and take me with you." She groaned. "Everything is so fucked up. Mom is getting on my nerves. Mariella keeps asking about you. What am I supposed to say?"
"I don't know, Cami. I'm sorry." Gabriella took a deep breath. "We're going to New York. Me, You, Mari, and Dad the weekend before Christmas. I have an audition at Julliard and Dad is letting me go."
"Really?"
She smiled to herself. "Yeah. We're going to be together soon."
"What are we doing for Halloween on Tomorrow?"
"I don't know, Cami." She'd completely forgotten about Halloween.
"Are you coming back for Thanksgiving!?"
"Camilla, I don't know. Okay? I'm trying to figure everything out." She felt a headache coming on. She needed to go to bed. "Rose will probably take you and Mari trick or treating. I was going to go to a party anyway. If something changes then I'll probably come home for Thanksgiving."
Camilla sighed loudly. "I miss you."
"I miss you too, and Mari. I love you guys, so much. Okay?"
"Okay."
"I'll stop by tomorrow before my party to see you guys in your costumes."
"Okay, Gabi. Goodnight."
"I love you, goodnight." She said softly to her sister before hanging up the phone. Gabriella bit her bottom lip before she called Troy.
"Hey Cupcake, You miss me?" He teased.
He annoyingly made her smile. "No." She lied. "After rehearsal, can I come back to your place? Then I have to go get my costume at home and say hi to my sisters then I'll pick you up and we can go to Chads."
"Of course you can." He said. She heard his smile. "I'll just go with you. My dad said you can come spend the night but he doesn't want you to drink and drive."
"I'm not emotionally stable for alcohol. I might spontaneously combust if I do." She sighed. "My dad's apartment is weird."
"I was just about to ask you about that."
"Like he has a two bedroom apartment and it's well lived in except this second bedroom he stuck me in. I tried to deep clean it the best I could. It had that old people smell." He chuckled. "I sprayed some Hawaiian breeze so hopefully it will last throughout the night. I'm just waiting for the bedding to be dried."
"I'm surprised he has cleaning supplies."
"Me too, actually. I think he has a housekeeper. What are you going to be at school? For Halloween?"
"I don't know. I don't really dress up."
"I don't know what I'm going to be either. I kind of forgot about it until Cami said something. I guess I have to throw something together." She hummed in thought.
"What are we going to do at the party? I'd usually play video games with the guys down in the basement."
"Dance and make out."
"I do like making out with you."
"It'll be a good time, Bolton. I promise, I won't try to corrupt you or take your virginity."
"Aw man. Too bad, I wanted to lose it at a party."
Gabriella rolled her eyes with a smile. "I was debating on waking you up with a blow job this morning but I felt that would have ruined the mood." She said quietly.
Troy grunted on the other line. "Why do you always say stuff like that?"
She giggled. "Are you hard right now?"
"No…. okay, a little bit. Stop talking dirty to me."
She laughed. "What if I want to have phone sex with you?"
"What if your dad is listening?"
"I'm sure he has better things to do." She said with an eyeroll. "Maybe tomorrow you can corrupt yourself and I can watch."
"You're naughty."
"I can be naughty." She said her voice lowering. "I can tell you exactly how naughty I am."
"Hold on." Troy said, calling out to someone. "Let me call you back."
Troy hung up on her and she sighed. She put her phone down and checked the dryer. It had a little bit more time on it so she decided to get ready for bed. She changed into Troy's shirt and shorts she wore the night before. She brushed her teeth and got some water. Her dad was in his room but the door was open.
"Dad, I'm getting ready to go to bed. I wanted to say goodnight… and thank you for lunch today."
He looked up from his computer. "You're welcome Bunny. It was a good time. We'll have to do it again soon. Goodnight."
"Goodnight." She said, taking the water back to the room. She set it on a shelf before she got the bedding out of the dryer. She put it on piece by piece until the bed was made. She closed the door, turned out the lights, and grabbed her phone.
She had a missed call from Troy. She called him back as she slid into the clean bed. While it was ringing, she set her alarm for the morning. "Cupcake." He answered.
"Hello handsome." She said softly. "All ready for bed?"
"Mhm," He hummed in reply. "My bed smells like you, it smells really nice."
"I stole the clothes you gave me and I'm wearing them right now… no panties."
"God." He groaned. "Why do you do this to me?"
"Because it's fun. I like getting you hot and bothered." She bit her bottom lip to stop her smile. "What are you wearing?"
"Boxers."
She hummed. "What do they look like?"
"They're black." He said quickly.
"Do you remember the other week…" She trailed off, humming to herself. She thought back to when they were in her room, having a picnic… but before that he got to explore her body. "Mmm…"
He breathed heavily on the phone. "What are you thinking about?"
"When we left school and had a picnic in my room." He groaned. She giggled. "We were on the bed and we were making out… I let you… explore."
"I vividly remember that. I had a freaking boner the whole time we were eating."
She giggled again. "If you would let me explore again, you wouldn't have had a boner."
"And you gave me another boner the other day at rehearsal… Why do you love to torture me?"
"You are torturing yourself. I'm waiting for the day, you let me get you off again… or we can get off together."
He sighed. "I want to, so fucking bad… but sex is… I want it to mean something. You're going to go off and become a big superstar and meet all the fancy people and do all the things. I will get more emotionally attached to you and we both know that you and I aren't ready for that." He paused for a moment. "I don't want you to think of me as one of those guys who is hanging out with you to fuck you. I know you don't like me but I like you and I don't want that."
"I like you."
He sighed. "You know what I mean."
"Troy…"
"I'm sorry."
Gabriella felt bad. "I'm sorry. You must think I'm a whore."
"I don't." He said softly. "You are my favorite person in the whole world, Gabriella Montez… And I'm going to go before my dick explodes."
She couldn't help but giggle. "I hope you think of when I jerked you off in your room and when you made me cum with your fingers."
He groaned. "Those are the only things I think about... and your lips and your tongue…" He let out another soft groan. "I've got to go."
She giggled. "Goodnight, sexy." He hung up the phone immediately after, making her giggle again.
Gabriella walked into school the next day in her nude colored body suit, a pair of men's white briefs and one of her dad's white button-up shirts. She was going for Tom Cruise in Risky Business. Her socks were pulled up over her body suit and she was wearing white tennis shoes. Her hair was down and curly and she sported black Ray-Bans she also stole from her father on the top of her head.
The morning was actually pleasant. He had cooked her breakfast. Granted it was only bacon and eggs but she couldn't remember when either of her parents cooked something specifically for her. It was nice. They talked about the day ahead. He was not happy that she was going to a party and spending the night at a boy's house but there wasn't really anything he could do to stop it.
He liked her costume, gave her a tight hug, helped her put her stuff in her car and they went their separate ways.
"What the?" She heard Troy behind her. "Oh, you are wearing leggings. I thought you came to school in your underwear."
She turned to see him. She took him in and burst out laughing. "Are you supposed to be your dad?"
He grinned. "Yep. I have the whistle, the old name badge. His shirt. I fixed my hair like his. My mom thought it was cute and my dad cracked up."
"I'm pretty sure your dad wore this shirt when he called me your girlfriend the first time." She said, reaching over for him.
"you look hot." He smiled, leaning down to kiss her mouth.
"Thank you. I would say the same but since you're dressed like your dad purposefully, I'm not."
"Thank god." He grinned. She let out a small giggle before she kissed him again. "How was your dads?"
"Not terrible." She decided. She closed her locker and reached for his hand. "He made me breakfast and we talked about our day. I think this month I've talked to him more than I've talked to him in the last three years."
He kissed her hand gently as they walked over to his locker. "You're still going to the party?"
"Yep. After rehearsal, we're going to make out at your house then go to my house to get some stuff and see my sisters then we can go to the party and make out some more."
"Sounds like the perfect night."
"Yearbook!" There was a flash in our direction.
"Really, Justin?" She asked, looking over at him.
He shrugged. "Every opportunity needs documentation. You said it yourself, miss editor."
"Oh, hush!" she said with a small smile. "Let me take a picture of you, Paparazzi." She reached over for one of the cameras around his neck. "Coach Bolton, yell at him."
Troy pretended to yell at Justin, holding the whistle. Gabriella took a couple pictures, giggling to herself. "These are going to be gold." Justin said, reaching over for the camera.
"You'll have to show me when you upload them." Gabriella reached over for Troy. Justin nodded, walking away. She turned to Troy. "Do you think your dad will let me interview him for the yearbook?"
"I don't see why not." Troy said, opening his locker. "He likes you so i'm sure he wouldn't have a problem with it."
"I'll ask him later." She leaned against the locker next to his. She thought about the how the end of the school year felt so far away. They just started Senior Year and she was so excited to be her own person. She felt like she finally was, especially leaving her mother's house. Would she want to stay with her dad long term? Would he let her? What about her sisters?
She felt a hand on her hip. "What are you thinking about?" He asked softly.
Her eyes found his. They were kind of light blue gray today. His dark blue gray shirt wasn't as complimentary as she thought it would be. "I'm just thinking about life." She licked her lips. She opened her mouth to say something else but the bell rang. "Let's go to homeroom. We can talk later."
He smiled with a small nod. He smoothed his hand across the small of her back after she pushed herself away from the lockers. She shifted her books to one arm and slid her other around his middle. She leaned against him as they walked to Ms. Darbus' homeroom class. He kissed her forehead before he let her go to walk in before him.
After a long school day and long Cabaret rehearsal, they were heading to Troy's. She helped him carry her giant suitcase up the stairs. She took a shower, letting her curls air dry as she threw on some random comfy clothes. She had to change when she got home because her costume was hanging in her closet.
They ate dinner with Troy's parents and Jack and Lucy were going to stay in and pass out candy. She asked Camilla if her mom was there, thankfully she was probably out with Mrs. Evans. Troy was dressed up like Batman. He looked so handsome in his batman suit. She drove them over to her house, parking in her usual spot. She rushed inside, "Cami! Mari!"
Troy followed her in, shutting the door behind her. "Gabi!" Mariella squealed as she ran down the stairs into her sister's arms. Gabriella squeezed her sister tightly. "Troy!" Mari wiggled out of Gabi's arms to give Troy a big hug.
"Whoa, look at you. Don't put a spell on me, alright?" Troy said, smiling at Gabriella's youngest sister.
Mari rolled her eyes with a laugh. "No promises."
"How do I look?" Camilla asked, walking down stairs dressed at a character from Game of Thrones.
"Very medieval." Gabriella commented. "The blonde actually looks really good on you. Don't get any ideas."
Camilla laughed, wrapping her arms around Gabriella. "I won't dye my hair until I'm at least sixteen."
"Eighteen." Gabriella countered. "And you will go to a salon and get it professionally done."
"Seventeen and I will go to a salon and get it professionally done."
"Fine." Gabriella caved. "I have to get dressed. Troy, do you want to come upstairs?"
"Troy's going to play with me!" Mari said, "We're going to go into my playroom and we're going to play with my Wii."
"Oooh, cool." Troy grinned, following Mariella up the stairs.
Gabriella went up to her room and gathered her make-up. She started putting it on. She kept light but with a nice winged eyeliner and she glued on fake lashes. She put all of her favorite make up items and put them in a bag. She grabbed make up wipes before she changed into her skin tight cat woman suit. She had no idea how she was going to go pee but she wasn't going to drink so that would save her a couple trips to the bathroom.
She checked herself out in the mirror before putting some product in her curls. She grabbed a couple of other necessities and put them into a small duffel bag with her make-up and wipes. She put on some black combat boots and grabbed her stuff, shutting her door behind her.
She walked over to Mariella's play room and giggled at the sight of Troy jumping up and down playing Super Smash Bros with her sister. Neither of them acknowledged her presence until the game was over. "Ready Troy?" She asked.
Troy whipped his head over, scanning her up and down. He opened his mouth to say something but nodded instead. "Do you guys have to go?" Mari said with a sigh.
"We're going to a party. I'll bring Troy back to play with you soon." She promised. "Where's Rose?"
"Right here." Rose said from behind her, scaring the life out of Gabriella.
Gabriella jumped. "Oh god. Why do you do that?"
"It's fun. Look at you." Rose looked Gabriella up and down. "You aren't driving tonight, right?"
"I'm not drinking." Gabriella said. Rose looked at her skeptically. "I'm not, I swear. I'm driving and going to Troy's after. His dad said it was okay. I promised his dad I wouldn't drink and drive."
"Well if something changes, you call me." She looked over at Troy. "Both of you."
"Absolutely." Troy said with a nod. "Chad won't have too much alcohol and it will all be gone by the time we get there probably. I'm not drinking either."
Rose hummed. "Be safe. I mean it, you call me."
"I love you. I will if anything happens." Gabriella said, wrapping her arms around Rose. Rose held her tight. She whispered something inaudible in Gabriella's ear. "I know. I wish." Gabriella replied to whatever her statement was.
Troy reached out for Gabriella's bag, taking it off her shoulder. "I got it." He moved it to his shoulder. "Bye Mari, thanks for kicking my butt at Smash Bros."
"Anytime." She grinned.
Gabriella slipped her hand into Troy's. "I love you guys, I'll see you soon." She promised. "Bye Cami!"
